Episode #20 - July 31, 2019
Scott Parker: Welcome one and all! We’re back with episode 20 of Empire Wrestling’s Hype! Last time you joined us it was Next Level: Victorem and we’re now on the road to Next Level: Ascension.
Gemma Foster: What a show it was! We saw the return of Chelsea Pryce as she came out to make the save as Daniel Daemon relentlessly took out Zoey Mathews-Mitchell after retaining his EW World Championship.
Scott Parker: Speaking of the World Championship. At Next Level: Victorem, Lacy Nelson walked away the winner of a briefcase holding a contract for a title shot whenever she wants!
Gemma Foster: She didn’t leave with it though! FM Young took out Lacy and left the arena with the briefcase.
Scott Parker: Lacy has demanded the situation be handled.
Gemma Foster: I would assume that she’ll try and invoke her contract even WITHOUT the contract. I know Daemon looks unstoppable right now but maybe he should keep his head on a swivel.
Riley Rouse w/ Mighty Jo Young Vs. Kayla Taylor w/ Krista May Williams
Rouse came to the ring with their partner, Young, and to a big pop from the crowd. Rouse had their shoulder taped up after the battle they had against the Glorious Bastards a few weeks ago. Taylor and Williams came out second and talked before Taylor entered the ring. Williams seemed to say something to Taylor and it seemed to throw her off as the bell sounded, allowing Rouse to get the first few blows. Taylor quickly took over the match by working over the shoulder of Rouse. The left shoulder seemed to be in pain and Taylor was doing what she could to continue to add to the damage. Rouse tired for a desperation roll up but Taylor kicked out. Rouse started to fight back and landed a few well placed strikes that seemed to daze Taylor. Rouse hit a one handed bulldog and went right into a lionsault off the middle rope but only for a two count. Williams jumped onto the apron to try and cause a distraction and Taylor looked for a small package. The referee was dealing with Williams as Young jumped into the ring and moved the small package for Taylor’s shoulders to now be on the mat. The referee turned and Taylor kicked out at two. Taylor seemed confused and looked out to Williams. Taylor got in the face of the referee and Williams got into the ring. She stalked Rouse but Young jumped into the ring and hit her with the Caught Up (Spear). Taylor hit Young with the Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes), Rouse hit Taylor with the Bored Now (Trouble in Paradise) as she turned around and covered for the victory.
WINNER: Riley Rouse via pinfall @ 9:34
Williams checked on Taylor as Rouse and Young met on the outside of the ring and hugged in celebration.
Scott Parker: Krista and Kayla have not been on the same page as of late.
Williams helped Taylor up but Taylor pushed her away and rolled out of the ring.
Gemma Foster: Looks like there’s some trouble in paradise.
Extreme Division Match
Fenryr Wulfsson Vs. Allen Chaney
This was a hard hitting match that spilled out onto the floor and over by the time keepers area. Chaney hit Fenryr with the bell that made everyone chuckle as the bell dinged. Fenryr staggered backwards towards the ring. Chaney charged at Fenryr but Fenryr dodged and sent Chaney right into the steel steps. Fenryr stomped on Chaney before rolling him into the ring and went into a cover but just getting a little over one. Fenryr pulled Chaney out and dumped him back outside the ring and took his time going after him. Chaney and Fenryr battled on the outside, back and forth, for the next couple of minutes. Chaney bounced Fenryr’s head off the announce table and rolled him onto it. Chaney climbed up with him and slowly pulled him to his feet. Chaney was trying to put Fenryr through the table with his Set-up (Double Arm DDT) but Fenryr kept battling. Fenryr was able to fight free and lifted Chaney up with the Nine Days (Two-handed Suspended Choke Hold) before slamming him down to the floor below! Fenryr climbed down from the table and rolled Chaney into the ring. Fenryr climbed into the ring and as he did Chaney looked for the Aristocrats (Curb Stomp) but Fenryr moved just in time. Chaney was able to get him down with a swinging neckbreaker and hit the ropes, connecting with the Makin Pancakes (Running Senton). Chaney looked for a cover and got two. Chaney looked around as the crowd stirred and Austin Scott entered the ring with a chair in hand. He leveled Chaney with a chairshot to the head that dropped the Comedian. Fenryr started to stand and Scott dropped him as well. Fenryr fell onto Chaney as the referee counted and the match was over.
WINNER: Fenryr Wulfsson via pinfall @ 11:52
Scott Parker: Austin Scott just ruined a perfectly good match.
Gemma Foster: Looks like he has something to say!
Austin Scott: Hey, Sam Hamilton. Consider this a warning shot. There’s plenty of ammo in this chair o’ mine. I’m comin’ for that belt.
Lio Walsh Vs. FM Young
Young came to the ring with Lacy Nelson’s Victorem briefcase with a big smile on her face. She showed it to the fans in the Warehouse as she made her way down the ramp.
Gemma Foster: I can’t believe FM has it with her! She’s proudly showing it off as to say “hey, Lacy, here I am. Come get it”.
Walsh was down to the ring next and we quickly got things underway. This was a quick striking match. Walsh landed a series of blows but Young dropped him with a hard elbow smash to the face. He rolled to his feet and Young started to land strikes, kicks and elbows, to the back of Walsh. Walsh eventually hit Young with a back elbow to the face that allowed him to connect with a German suplex. Walsh lifted Young up to her feet and then onto his shoulders. He connected with a running death valley driver in the middle of the ring. He dove into a cover but could only get a two count. Young powered to her feet but was quickly sent into the corner. Walsh charged and ran into a big boot from Young. Walsh charged again and this time ran into a double knee to his chest. Young stepped out of the corner and delivered the Man-Machine Interface (Discus Clothesline). Young went into a cover but only got two before Walsh got his foot on the ropes. Walsh was able to get to his feet and lifted Young over the top rope with a backdrop as she charged. Young landed on the apron but was quickly knocked to the foot with a clothesline. Young used the announcers table to pull herself up as Walsh came after her. He backdropped her onto the table and she bounced off.
Gemma Foster: Lio is taking control of the match now.
Walsh looked for Made of Nightmares (Rock Bottom) on the outside of the ring but Young battled out and got into the ring. Walsh chased after her and got into the ring. He looked for a German suplex but Young flipped backwards and landed on her feet. This gave Young the opening to hit the Amazon Rage (Lumbar Check) and cover for the victory.
WINNER: FM Young via pinfall @ 12:03
Young rolled to her feet and was handed the Victorem briefcase.
Scott Parker: Young has been hitting that devastating backbreaker and she can hit it from out of nowhere.
Gemma Foster: Look at that smile.
She held up the briefcase and pounded her chest. The crowd got excited for confrontation as Lacy Nelson charged the ring. Young rolled out of the ring and jumped into the crowd. Nelson wasn’t happy, to say the least, and fummed towards Young. Walsh got to his feet and took a superkick from Nelson for his efforts.
Scott Parker: Nelson is fired up right now.
Nelson was measuring up Walsh again but Talia Areano came rushing out for the save.
Lacy Nelson Vs. Talia Areano
Areano dropped the Primetime Title on the apron as she slid into the ring and the main event was starting. Walsh was able to get out of the ring as Areano and Nelson went blow for blow in the middle of the ring.
Scott Parker: Talia wasn’t waiting around for this match tonight. She’s ready to go!
Areano grabbed Nelson and used the corner to assist in a tornado DDT. Areano quickly pulled Nelson to her feet and took her right back down with a swinging neckbreaker. Areano saw an opening and climbed to the top rope. She jumped and looked for the Solar Shower (Double Stomp) but Nelson rolled out of the way. Nelson got to her feet and connected with a belly to belly suplex. Nelson grabbed Areano by her hair and pulled her to her feet. She slapped Areano and then dropped her with a double crossed arm DDT. Nelson looked for a cover but just got a two.
Gemma Foster: What an impressive DDT from Lacy.
Areano started to fight up to her feet and dropped Nelson to the mat with a drop toe hold. Nelson got to her knees and Areano hit a flipping blockbuster. Nelson hit the mat and started to get back up slowly but Areano was right to her feet and hit a shining wizard. Nelson still tried to get up and Areano ran off the ropes and hit her Rush Hour (Sliding Forearm Smash).
Scott Parker: Talia has Lacy on the ropes!
Areano rolled Nelson into a cover but was only able to get a two count. Areano couldn’t believe it and Nelson used the ropes to pull herself up. Areano charged but Nelson ducked and pulled down the top rope, sending Areano up and over. Areano landed on the apron but was hit with a stunner! Areano fell to the outside as Nelson had a few moments to regroup. Nelson climbed to the apron and hit Areano a jumping tornado DDT onto the floor as she stood! Nelson rolled Areano into the ring and climbed in after her.
Gemma Foster: Look out Talia!
Nelson grabbed the Primetime Championship and walked around with it. Areano got to her feet and Nelson tossed her the championship. Areano caught it but was hit with Nelson’s superkick!
Scott Parker: The small distraction there from Lacy.
Nelson pulled Areano and shouted for Young to bring her the briefcase before delivering the Headline (Eat Defeat). Nelson covered and picked up the victory.
WINNER: Lacy Nelson via pinfall @ 13:41
Nelson stood in the ring with a scowl on her face. The crowd popped as Chelsea Pryce came out to the stage. She smirked and walked halfway down the ring and waited. She walked down as Nelson started to talk at her and she pulled Areano out of the ring and sent her up the ramp.
Gemma Foster: I think Chelsea is making sure Lacy doesn’t get any cheap shots in after this match.
Pryce simply turned and Daniel Daemon was now standing on the stage looking at the two, World Championship over his shoulder.
Scott Parker: And there’s the champion.
Gemma Foster: Both of those ladies are gunning for his prize.
Scott Parker: I don’t think he cares all that much. To him, they’re just pretenders to his throne.
FM Young had snuck into the ring and hit Lacy Nelson with the Amazon Rage as the fans went crazy!
Gemma Foster: Where did FM come from!?
Scott Parker: I think she just watched the entire match from somewhere in the crowd.
Young was fired up in the ring and was going nuts. She motioned up at Daemon for the title around her waist before showing off the briefcase.
Gemma Foster: I don’t think that FM cares that the briefcase and the contract doesn’t belong to her. I think she’s planning on trying to invoke the title match at some point!
The final shot had Pryce smiling looking around as Young looked at up Daemon, the champion just holding the championship above his head.
Gemma Foster: What a show it was! We saw the return of Chelsea Pryce as she came out to make the save as Daniel Daemon relentlessly took out Zoey Mathews-Mitchell after retaining his EW World Championship.
