Episode #22 - August 28, 2019
Scott Parker: Welcome to EW Hype! It’s episode 22 and we’re on the road to Next Level: Ascension, only 4 weeks away! We’re moments away from finding out who will face Samantha Hamilton for the Extreme Championship at that show.
Gemma Foster: Sam has welcomed all challenges and tonight faces one of her own as she takes on the World Champion Daniel Daemon in a clash of champion versus champion.
Extreme Championship #1 Contendership
Allen Chaney Vs. Austin Scott Vs. Alicia Monroe
We were set for our first match of the night and Monroe was out first. She seemed excited for the match and was once again coming out solo.
Gemma Foster: I got to talk to Alicia backstage earlier today and she’s very excited for tonight’s match. She knows she has a big opportunity here tonight and wants to earn herself a championship match.
Scott was out next to a chorus of boos.
Scott Parker: The crowd not a fan of Austin Scott. This attitude shift since coming to Empire Wrestling is all mean streak. He attacked Sam Hamilton two weeks ago and has said he’s coming for her title.
Out last was Chaney who got a nice pop from the crowd. He rushed to the ring and was ready to fight. He started swinging as the bell sounded and landed blows to Monroe before turning to Scott and hitting him with a headbutt. Chaney staggered from his own headbutt and then hit Monroe with one as well. Chaney hit Scott with a short arm clothesline that dropped him to the mat. Monroe stepped up to Chaney and he lifted her with a scoop slam and dropped her onto Scott. Chaney hit the ropes and connected with a running senton onto both competitors! He pulled Monroe off of Scott and went for a cover but just got one. Scott used the ropes to pull himself up. He and Chaney met in the middle of the ring with lefts and rights. Scott pulled Chaney in for a DDT but Chaney spun away. Monroe came off the top rope with a double dropkick to both men. Monroe jumped to her feet and charged at Chaney who was on his knees. Monroe blasted him with a hard running knee strike to the face. She charged at Scott and jumped up, connecting with a headscissors takedown, sending Scott to the outside as he rolled under the ropes. Monroe pulled Chaney to his feet and locked in a side headlock. Monroe was able to connect with her Freebird (Running Bulldog). Monroe popped to her feet and started to climb to the top turnbuckle but took a kendo stick shot to the back from Scott. He delivered a second shot to her back before hitting her with a big German suplex out of the corner.
Scott Parker: Austin Scott is dangerous with that kendo stick.
Scott started to pull Monroe to her feet but took a kick to the side from Chaney. Chaney pulled Scott in and hit the Set-Up (Double Arm DDT). Chaney rolled to his feet and kicked Monroe in the gut before hitting her with the Set-Up as well. Chaney started to climb to the top rope and had Chaney and Monroe laying beside each other. He looked for the WTFFFF (Moonsault) and he hit Monroe but Scott was able to roll out of the way. Chaney covered Monroe and only got two as Scott hit Chaney with a kendo stick.
Gemma Foster: Scott breaks it up!
Scott pulled Chaney to his feet and dumped him to the outside. Monroe started to get to her feet and Scott was there to lift her onto his shoulders. He was looking for Booze Cruisin' (Oklahoma Slam) but Monroe countered into a DDT. Monroe slowly got to the top rope and came flying off with her Phoenix Dive (Swanton Bomb)! Chaney was back in the ring and rocked her with a chairshot as she stood! Chaney grabbed Monroe and hit a snap suplex. Chaney stood and was rocked with Straight Whiskey (Running lariat) from Scott! Scott dropped to a knee as he was trying to regroup quickly. Monroe started to stand and Scott lifted her up onto his shoulder and dropped her with the Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver). Scott rolled Chaney out of the ring before diving onto Monroe for the pinfall.

Scott put his arms out before pounding his chest with his right first.
Talia Areano Vs. Kaito Hirano
Before this match started, AJ Adams came out to the stage to a big cheer. He made his way down to the ring and sat with Parker and Foster.
Gemma Foster: What a surprise!
Scott Parker: We’re being joined by AJ Adams here ringside for this match.
AJ Adams: Thanks, guys. I figured that Talia got to see my match against Goldstein that I return the favor and come down here and watch her match. I’ll also take this moment to say I’m officially laying out the challenge to Talia for her Primetime Championship at Next Level: Ascension.
Areano and Hirano had made their way to the ring for the match as Areano caught a look at Adams on the outside. She smiled and held up the championship a second time and this made Hirano irate. He started to lay into Areano with hard kicks to the legs before hitting a spinning back elbow to the side of the head.
Gemma Foster: I think Kaito feels disrespected by Talia as she looked to be more focused on you, AJ.
Hirano stepped up to Areano and hit her with an enziguri. He was fired up as he started to walk around the ring. Areano started to get to her knees and Hirano looked for his Yoi Yume O [Sweet Dreams] (Running Knee to knelt opponent) but Areano ducked it. She tried to roll him up with a school boy pin and got two before he kicked out. They both got to their feet and Hirano caught her with a tornado kick right to the side of the head. She looked out as she fell to the mat and Hirano covered and the crowd was in shock as Areano got her foot on the ropes just before three.
Scott Parker: Great ring awareness there by the Primetime Champion.
Hirano couldn’t believe it and pulled Areano up to her feet and sent her into a corner. He charged and hit a corner splash. He pulled her out of the corner and looked for a neckbreaker but she broke free. Areano jumped up and hit a standing frankensteiner and then jumped right up and delivered a standing shooting star press. The fans all cheered as she hooked the legs for a cover but Hirano kicked out just after two. Areano started to pull Hirano up but he pulled her down into a small package for a pin but she kicked out at two. Both competitors got to their feet and Hirano looked for a jumping DDT but Areano pushed him away. She hit him with a discus lariat that sent him staggering into the corner. This allowed Areano to grab him and deliver the Slice of Heaven (Sliced Bread #2). She covered and picked up the victory.

Gemma Foster: Talia is walking away a winner here tonight after a tough fight with Kaito Hirano.
Talia was handed her championship as she held it to her chest and rolled out of the ring with AJ Adams watching on.
Johnny Maverick w/ Ollie Maverick Vs. Karli Frost w/ Fenryr Wulfsson
This match never started as these two teams brawled in the backstage area on their way to the ring. They each went blow for blow before being pulled apart and escorted out of the Warehouse.
Chelsea Pryce Vs. Casey Grey
The fans calmed down after the last segment as they were ready for the next match. The former EW Heavyweight Champion Chelsea Pryce made her way to the ring first to a nice cheer from the fans. Grey came out next and she made a beeline to the ring, ready for a fight. The bell rang and the two started to circle each other. They locked up and tried to push each other into the ropes. Pryce started to push Grey but Grey connected with a monkey flip. Pryce landed on her feet and turned right into an arm drag by Grey into an armbar. Pryce was able to slip away and rocked Grey with a hard forearm smash to the face. Pryce hit Grey with a snapmare and locked in a sleeper hold. Grey slowly made her way to a knee and powered herself to her feet. Grey tried to get away but was taken down with an arm trap neckbreaker. Pryce went into a cover but Grey kicked out after one. Pryce hit Grey with a hard forearm and went right into another cover for another one count. Grey was able to power herself to her feet this time and ducked a clothesline. Pryce turned around and was slammed to the mat with a powerslam.
Scott Parker: A big slam there by Casey Grey!
Grey went into a cover and only got two. Grey tried to pull Pryce up to her feet and Pryce pushed her away. Pryce looked for the KO Shot (Roundhouse Kick) but Grey ducked it and hit the Breath Mint (Forearm Smash). Grey covered and once again only got two. Grey looked like she was starting to get frustrated. She hit the mat a few times before pulling Pryce to her feet. Grey started to lift Pryce up to her feet but Pryce slipped right behind her. Pryce locked in a cobra clutch and delivered the Vengeful Bitch (Cobra Clutch Slam)! Pryce tried to lock in the Natural Disaster (Cross Legged STF) but Grey quickly crawled to the ropes.
Gemma Foster: Casey knowing where she was in the ring and able to get to the ropes quickly.
Pryce pulled Grey back to the center of the ring and Grey kicked her away. Grey got to her feet and delivered a second Breath Mint! Grey pulled Pryce down and locked in the Bitch Muzzle (Crossface). Pryce reached for the ropes but was just out of reach. She struggled as Grey applied pressure.
Scott Parker: Casey has her submission locked in tight!
Pryce slowly started to crawl to the ropes and got her knee under her. She was able to roll forward and break the hold and get to her feet. Pryce stepped up and caught Grey with the KO Kick! Grey staggered and this allowed Pryce to connect with the Pay the Price (Double Knee Facebreaker) and cover for the three count victory.
WINNER: Chelsea Pryce via pinfall @ 17:32
Pryce sat on her knees with a smile on her face as Grey rolled out of the ring. Pryce stood and celebrated.
Gemma Foster: Pryce is back and is looking as good as ever.
Samantha Hamilton Vs. Daniel Daemon
It was time for the main event of the evening and the fans were buzzing. Hamilton came out to the ring first and was hyping herself, practically jumping to the ring. Daemon came out slowly and had his eyes locked on Hamilton the entire walk. He stood on the outside of the ring and held up the EW World Championship as Hamilton held up the Extreme Championship.
Gemma Foster: A champion standoff!
Daemon placed the championship on the stairs and climbed into the ring. The bell sounded and Hamilton quickly stepped up and hit Daemon in the mouth with a right hand. He just smiled as she hit the ropes and came back with a hard clothesline that staggered him to the ropes. Hamilton went for another clothesline but Daemon caught her with a big boot. Hamilton rolled to her feet and speared Daemon into the corner. She started to unload left and right hands onto the champion.
Scott Parker: Sam Hamilton giving it everything she’s got.
Hamilton looked for a suplex out of the corner but couldn’t quite lift Daemon up. Daemon pushed her away and dropped her with a headbutt. Hamilton rolled to her feet and was lifted up and then down to the mat with a sidewalk slam. Daemon brushed his forearm across her face as he covered and only got two. Daemon pulled Hamilton to her feet and tossed her into the corner. He charged and looked for a splash but Hamilton was able to dodge it. Hamilton was able to lift Daemon up and drop him to the mat with a spinebuster. Hamilton was fired up and Daemon got to his feet. Hamilton connected with a series of elbow strikes and then hit the ropes, chopping Daemon down to a knee with chop block. Hamilton locked in a sleeper hold and tried to make Daemon fall asleep. Daemon powered to his feet and stood. He drove Hamilton into the corner back first but she held on. He took a few steps and jumped, falling backwards, and crushing Hamilton under him.
Scott Parker: All the air just left Sam Hamilton!
Daemon covered Hamilton and she managed to kick out.
Gemma Foster: Somehow Hamilton just kicked out despite not being able to breathe.
Hamilton crawled to the ropes and pulled herself up. Daemon went to charge and Hamilton ducked and pulled down the ropes and sent him over the ropes. Daemon landed on the apron and slowly got up. Hamilton speared Daemon through the ropes and they both went crashing to the floor!
Scott Parker: Hamilton putting it all on the line!
Both competitors were slow to get up and Hamilton got up first and she rolled into the ring. Daemon climbed into the ring at a count of 8. Hamilton caught Daemon as he started to stand with her Defying the Gods (Frankensteiner). Hamilton covered but Daemon powered out with a forceful kickout at two. Hamilton tried to lock in another sleeper but Daemon quickly got to his feet before she could get it locked it tight. He lifted her above his head and dropped her with the Ritual Disembowelment II (Gorilla Press Gutbuster). Hamilton once again gasped for air as she started to crawl away. Daemon stepped onto her back and walked across her.
Gemma Foster: He’s just toying with her at this point.
Daemon lifted her up and had her set for a chokeslam. He lifted her and she countered into a DDT. Hamilton scurried to her feet and pulled Daemon in before hitting the Wrath Of The Titans (Pedigree)! She covered and the crowd counted along as she only got two. Daemon got to his feet and Hamilton pulled Daemon in again. This time she shocked the crowd as delivered a massive powerbomb! Hamilton fell to the mat and couldn’t make the cover.
Gemma Foster: Come on, Samantha! Capitalize!
Hamilton inched her way into a cover and got a two count. Hamilton got to her feet and Daemon sat up and looked pissed. He stood and grabbed Hamilton and delivered a chokeslam!
Scott Parker: No more Mister nice Emperor.
Daemon pulled Hamilton back up and hit the ropes before dropping her with the Inquisition (Powerful Lariat). Daemon covered and picked up the victory.

Daemon wiped some sweat from his forehead and stood. He turned around and sitting on the top turnbuckle was Lacy Nelson, holding the EW World Championship. She smiled and Daemon charged, Nelson jumping over him. She dropped the title and rolled out of the ring and waved her finger and nodded.
Gemma Foster: Lacy Nelson playing with Daniel Daemon. I thought she was about to invoke that contract of hers.
Daemon grabbed the championship and held it up. Hamilton was to her feet and dumped Daemon up and over the top ropes as she held up her Extreme Championship.
Scott Parker: Hamilton standing tall after an impressive showing against Daemon.
Nelson stood on the opposite side of the ring as Daemon held up the championship one last time.

Daemon lifted her up and had her set for a chokeslam. He lifted her and she countered into a DDT. Hamilton scurried to her feet and pulled Daemon in before hitting the Wrath Of The Titans (Pedigree)! She covered and the crowd counted along as she only got two. Daemon got to his feet and Hamilton pulled Daemon in again. This time she shocked the crowd as delivered a massive powerbomb! Hamilton fell to the mat and couldn’t make the cover.

Hamilton inched her way into a cover and got a two count. Hamilton got to her feet and Daemon sat up and looked pissed. He stood and grabbed Hamilton and delivered a chokeslam!
Scott Parker: No more Mister nice Emperor.
Daemon pulled Hamilton back up and hit the ropes before dropping her with the Inquisition (Powerful Lariat). Daemon covered and picked up the victory.

Daemon wiped some sweat from his forehead and stood. He turned around and sitting on the top turnbuckle was Lacy Nelson, holding the EW World Championship. She smiled and Daemon charged, Nelson jumping over him. She dropped the title and rolled out of the ring and waved her finger and nodded.

Daemon grabbed the championship and held it up. Hamilton was to her feet and dumped Daemon up and over the top ropes as she held up her Extreme Championship.

Nelson stood on the opposite side of the ring as Daemon held up the championship one last time.
