Episode #112 - May 19, 2024
After some fireworks, we see the crowd in the EW Warehouse on their feet as the show opens. The card flashed up on the screen as we were greeted by Gemma Foster and Sara Reece. It wasn’t long until EW’s Director of Operations Tom Carr was shown standing in the ring.
Tom Carr: Next Sunday Empire Wrestling presents Rebirth! As I said on X earlier in the week, my job is to present the best wrestling shows possible and I want to give all of you one of the best main events possible. Jonathan Daemon has issues with our World Champion Serena Riot and he’s shown to be at the top of his game. It only makes sense he main event across from our champion.
The fans boo Daemon’s name but cheer the match announcement.
Tom Carr: But on the same hand I see someone that hasn’t gotten a fair rematch since losing the World Champion. Someone that wants to only be the best in this company. Someone that lost the title after a hard hitting match and is still waiting for another opportunity. Marilyn Lee Cross.
There’s a pop for her name as Carr keeps speaking.
Tom Carr: That’s why at Rebirth, Serena Riot will defend the World Championship in a triple threat match!
The fans explode as Carr smiles and we cut away to the back.
Empire Wrestling’s Extreme Champion Chelsea LeClair is in a bubbly mood at the moment as she holds her championship proudly. She’s got the camera on her and most notably, she’s wearing an Empire Wrestling t-shirt. Chelsea appears to have something to say and she begins to speak.
Chelsea LeClair: HI! Extreme Champion Chelsea LeClair here! Things were a bit tough for me at first, but just before the long break, I was able to score this championship! Now, since the company has resumed operations, I’ve only had one match, which I won. But darn, I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t itching for that first title defense already considering how long I’ve had to wait for that. But there is something that I have to say…
And it’s regarding something on Twitter that I wasn’t happy to see.
I’m not going to drop names, all I am going to say is if you know you know.
But for someone on this roster to say that some match that they have in another company is a “much bigger match” than one that they had here or that they are going to have here, that’s a slap in the face. I know that no disrespect was intended or anything like that and I’m not even knocking being in other companies.
I’m in two others myself in my own right.
Chelsea LeClair: But I would NEVER, especially being the Extreme Champion that has been chomping at the bit to get myself a match and a title defense as of late, say something like that. It’s a slap in the face no matter how you try to spin it and no matter how many times you say “no disrespect” or “no offense”. I’m sure that person’s going to hear this and take SO much offense that they’re going to challenge me to a match because GRRR! ARGH! I had no right to say anything…
Chelsea pauses and rolls her eyes at this possibility, if not probability.
Chelsea LeClair: Some people are predictable in that sense. But, I am going to restate what I initially said on Twitter. I’m here for the long haul. I am here to be your Extreme Champion until someone dethrones me. I treat all commitments the same and I don’t consider one match in this company any less or any more important than any match I have in any other place I wrestle for. You’re never going to have to worry about me disrespecting this company that way.
Chelsea LeClair: I dealt with some rough breaks and tough times when I first got here. I stuck with it and managed to win this championship. I fought like hell to gain this and I’m going to fight like hell to retain this. You have my promise that every single time I step into an Empire ring. Now, I’ve got some matches coming up… but don’t worry… I’m not going to say they’re “much more important” than anything I have going on here. The shirt I’m wearing says it all. I bleed this company, which is more than I can say for others.
Chelsea leaves the scene. She shows no regrets over anything she just said as the scene cuts out.
Missy Propaganda vs Jason Evans
The first match of the night gave us Propaganda and Evans in a battle of different styles. Evans tried to use his quickness and strikes to keep his opponent off balance. Propaganda grabbed his leg and hit him with a nasty dragon screw and then started to kick the back of his knee to slow him down. She stomped on his ankle and Evans was in pain. He had trouble battling back but was able to hit Faye’s Dagger (Falcon Arrow). He went to the top but was slow to climb and missed on the Redline (450 Splash). Propaganda followed up with a tornado punch and then a toss to take him down. She hit the ropes as he started to stand and hit him with Silent Violent (Leaping Double Knee Strike) and covered for a win.
WINNER: Missy Propaganda via pinfall @ 13:09
Prove It
We cut to the back and see Tom Carr standing in his office watching the action on a tv. He’s approached by Luna Reynolds trying to get the next scoop.
Luna Reynolds: Mr. Carr, word is that after hearing Chelsea LeClair you have some news on the Extreme Championship match for Rebirth.
Tom Carr: You’re right. I think it’s time for a good ol’ Championship Scramble match and this time, it’s EXTREME. A 20 minute scramble match with, clearly, Chelsea defending against Missy Propaganda who just competed and won her way into the match. Former Extreme Champion Manic, Angelica Matthews, Ricky Rodriguez, and the winners of the Kayla Taylor versus Eve O’Donnell match. Plus, the winner of Kaito versus Claire Talbot versus Harper Blake.
Kayla Taylor vs Eve O’Donnell
Taylor came to the ring first and cut a promo about her opponent coming into Empire Wrestling and not respecting the wrestlers that built it. Taylor said she was having one of the best stretches in her career and was cut off by the debuting Eve O’Donnell. O’Donnell came to the ring and the two quickly locked up. Taylor was able to flip her to the mat with an arm drag and O’Donnell just smiled. O’Donnell was quick to her feet and started to take control with some serious strikes. She flipped Taylor inside out with a discus clothesline. This allowed O’Donnell to slow things down with takedowns and her Winged Goddess (Butterfly Suplex). Taylor tried to mount a comeback and connected with a scoop slam. She connected with a second rope elbow and then stood. She pointed at O’Donnell and looked for the Plan A (Shining Wizard) but O’Donnell caught her and lifted her in the air and proceeded to deliver the Triple Goddess (3 Powerbombs in a row). She pulled Taylor up and delivered the Broken Dreams (Diamond Cutter) and picked up the win.
WINNER: Eve O’Donnell via pinfall @ 11:35
After the match, O’Donnell locked in the Goddess of Death (Texas Cloverleaf) as the bell rang to send a message. Referees pulled her off as they then checked on Taylor.
Claire Talbot vs Harper Blake vs Kaito Hirano
The next match was set to begin as the three competitors circled each other. The action was fast paced and Hirano was throwing hard kicks onto Blake and then to Talbot. Hirano wanted to hit a dragon suplex on Talbot but she was able to land a hard elbow to the head and got free. As she spun away, Blake came over and hit Hirano with Future Sight (V-Trigger)! Talbot grabbed Blake and hit a poisionrana! Talbot was fired up and Hirano staggered up which allowed her to deliver a Shiranui! Talbot went to the top rope and Blake followed after her. Blake was looking for the Falcon Arrow off the top but Talbot countered with a sunset flip powerbomb off the top rope! She covered but Hirano broke it up just in time. He pulled Talbot up and delivered Dishonored (Burning Hammer GTS)! Hirano made a cover but Talbot kicked out just before three to the cheers of the fans. She started to get to her feet and Blake delivered a hit Hirano with Future Sight! Blake was taken down by Talbot and a swinging neckbreaker. Talbot followed it up with Flawless (Double Jump Moonsault) and covered for a win!
WINNER: Claire Talbot via pinfall @ 15:31
The camera cuts to the back right after the match ends as EW’s Spartan Champion Travis Levitt was set to be interviewed. The camera cut and he was involved in a brawl as security tried to break it up. The fans ooh’ed as a beer bottle shattered over his head and we saw the returning Austin Scott.
Austin Scott: I wasn’t done with you. Sunday. Rebirth. Spartan rules. Levitt is able to get to his feet and jumps over guards and lands hard blows as we cut away.
Gold Addiction
“Spoiled” Summer Page is backstage of the Warehouse warming up for her match with Oliva Diaz. Summer begins walking towards Gorilla Position.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: My journey to the ascension to the top of Empire Wrestling continues tonight when I step into the ring against Oliva Diaz. But you guys already know that. Just like you already know my ultimate goal of becoming World Heavyweight Champion once again. With that being said I am sure that Oliva is prepared just like I am and wants this win tonight just as badly as I do. I wonder though do, Oliva, have you ever been to the mountaintop in this business by carrying the World Championship before? Not that it is bad if you haven’t but my point is that you have never experienced that taste yet. So while you want it just like we all do, you haven’t experienced the despair of losing it and needing to get that taste back. It is almost addicting to be quite honest. It is why athletes don’t automatically retire after winning the Super Bowl, an Olympic Gold medal, Stanley Cup, World Series, NBA Champion, or any other athletic venture out there in the world.
Summer points at the veins in her right arm.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: It is in your blood when you get your first taste of it. Can you honestly say that Oliva? I hope you don’t take it as a slight against you or anything because it is not. I see a lot of good things for you in the future but tonight it won’t happen against me.
Summer gets to the curtains of Gorilla Position.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: We are about to break this curtain Oliva, all the lights, and eyes will all be on us. Which is why I won’t be denied.
Summer turns toward the crew members in Gorilla.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: Now, hit my music!
Summer turns back around towards the curtains, hears her music start playing and breaks through the curtain.
Summer Page vs Olivia Diaz
Summer Page made her way to the ring to cheers as Olivia Diaz stood in the ring. The two opened with a series of back and forth takedowns. Page caught an opening after charging and hitting Diaz with a slingblade. Page followed it up with the Golden Rule (Reverse Neckbreaker) and covered for just a quick two. Diaz rolled out of the ring and regrouped before getting back into the ring. She was in the corner and Page charged into a boot to the face. Diaz grabbed Page and hit the Whiplash (Snapmare Facebuster). She covered for just two. The action was controlled by Diaz for a period before Page was able to catch her with a roundhouse kick to the head and then a snap German suplex. Page pulled Diaz up to her feet and went into a Russian leg sweep. She grabbed Diaz’ legs but she kicked her away. Diaz got to her feet and walked right into the Pure Perfection (Perfectplex) and was able to get a three count!
WINNER: Summer Page via pinfall @ 11:04
Lacy Hartson vs Marilyn Lee Cross
The fans were buzzing for the next match as both competitors came to the ring. Cross came out with hard chops and Hartson followed up with uppercuts. The two went back and forth with the hard blows before Cross looked for a belly to back suplex but Hartson flipped backwards and landed on her feet. Hartson hooked the arms of Cross and hit a tiger suplex! The shot turned to EW World Champion Serena Riot watching backstage. Cross crawled to the corner and was rocked with Thunderstruck (Corner Hip Attack). Hartson was able to cover but it was only good for two. Hartson started to set up for the Deadline (Tiger Driver '98) but Cross hit a backdrop. Hartson was up and was rocked with the Mary Go Round (Discus Big Boot). Hartson stumbled up and was lifted up before Cross hit Do A Barrel Roll (Cartwheel Death Valley Driver)! Cross covered for two as the fans cheered the action on. Cross called for and looked for the John Wilkes Boot (Running Yakuza Kick to the back of the head) but Hartson had it scouted and ducked it. Cross turned and was hit with a superkick! Hartson went into a cover and Cross kicked out at two in a close pinfall attempt. Hartson started to set up for the Headline (Eat Defeat) but Cross countered into a short arm lariat. Cross hit a second and Hartson was dazed. She fell to a knee and was hit with John Wilkes Boot and Cross covered for the pinfall.
WINNER: Marilyn Lee Cross via pinfall @ 19:33
AJ Adams vs Jonathan Daemon
It was main event time as the crowd cheered for Adams on his way to the ring. Daemon smirked at the boos as we got a shot of Serena Riot once again watching on the tv in the back. Adams and Daemon circled each other and locked up. Daemon quickly pulled Adams in and drove his knees into his gut with force. Daemon picked Adams apart slowly as he worked on his arm and shoulder. Daemon hit a suplex and floated over into a cover for two. Adams stood and fell into the corner and readied himself. Daemon charged and missed on a corner charge and Adams delivered a German out of the corner. He started to lift Daemon up for the GTS but Daemon struggled his way to the ground. Adams still had Daemon and was able to hit Last Call (Codebreaker). Adams covered but only got two before Daemon kicked out.
Daemon jumped onto a charging Adams with a press and started to unload with hard punches and forearms to the grounded Adams. Daemon pulled him to his feet and hit a perfect Ritual Disembowelment III (Fireman’s Carry into Single knee kneeling gutbuster). Daemon stood over Adams and smirked and allowed him to start to stand. Daemon ran the ropes multiple times before rocking Adams with the Profound Refusal (Running Shotei strike to the Face). Daemon slammed the elbow of Adams onto the mat with force over and over before pulling him to his feet. Daemon grabbed Adams and delivered his Perfect Armbar (Double Underhook Suplex into Cross Armbreaker). Adams couldn’t reach the ropes and had to tap out to end the match.
WINNER: Jonathan Daemon via pinfall @ 17:41
Daemon didn’t let go of the hold for a time after the bell kept ringing. He stood and Adams rolled out of the ring. The fans cheered as Serena Riot came out with the EW World Championship on her shoulder. She went about halfway down the ramp and held the title up and shouted a few things to Daemon. There was another pop as Riot turned around and Marilyn Lee Cross stood at the top of the ramp with her eyes focused on the title.
Tom Carr: Next Sunday Empire Wrestling presents Rebirth!
