Episode #113 - June 10, 2024
We kicked the show off with an announcement that Next Level: Revolution will take place on July 14th and the winner of the Primetime Tournament will take on Melody Slayton on the show. Tom Carr also announced that a new event is coming to Empire Wrestling that will work towards showing off new talent as the Warfare Cup is returning, this time for rookie competitors. More on that to come.
PRIMETIME CONTENDER TOURNAMENT
Angelica Matthews vs Kayla Taylor
The first match kicked off with Taylor taking the offensive early as she wrestled Matthews to the mat. Taylor showed off a good amount of technical skill but Matthews had an opening after a handful of hair yanked Taylor down. Matthews started to pick Taylor apart with a lifting knee strike to the face and a neck breaker combo. Matthews had all the momentum at one point after the Buyout (Implant DDT). Taylor kicked out of a pinfall attempt and kept fighting. Matthews caught a charging Taylor with Dream Made (Codebreaker) and picked up the pinfall.
WINNER: Angelica Matthews via pinfall @ 13:09
Claire Talbot Vs. Olivia Diaz
The next match was a fast paced match full of kicks and takedowns. Talbot hit a headscissors takedown and had control early on. Diaz tried to come off the second rope at one point but slipped off the turnbuckle pad and was hit with a big palm strike to the face. Diaz tried to keep coming back but Talbot hit the Foxy Smack (Diving calf kick). The ending sequence saw Diaz look for Skid Row (Running Knee Strike) to Talbot as she was on a knee but Talbot dodged it and countered into a reverse DDT! Talbot then went right into Flawless (Double jump moonsault) and covered for the win.
WINNER: Claire Talbot via pinfall @ 9:13
EXTREME DIVISION MATCH
Eve O’Donnell Vs. Manic Vs. Missy Propaganda
We’re greeted with our Extreme Division set up with trash cans around the ring and we’re underway. O’Donnell is quick on the attack on both Propaganda and Manic. We get a shot of Lacy Hartson watching backstage on a monitor. O’Donnell had a kendo stick and was going to town as she took turns wacking her opponents. Propaganda mounted some attack as she came off the top rope with a dropkick to O’Donnell. Propaganda hit hard strikes to her opponents and a lifting knee to the face of Manic had her dazed. O’Donnell set up a table and hit a German suplex on Propaganda who then rolled up to her feet and right into O’Donnell’s Winged Goddess (Butterfly Suplex). Manic screamed and charged into a hard right hand. O’Donnell delivered her Triple Goddess (Three Powerbombs In A Row) and on the third, put Manic through the table and covered for a win.
WINNER: Eve O’Donnell via pinfall @ 14:01
O’Donnell posed in the ring as the crowd popped for Lacy Hartson trying to rush the ring but being stopped by security and referees.
Kimiko Hirano Vs. Summer Page
These two went back and forth with hard strikes trying to one up each other early on. Page slowly got into her comfort zone and hit a couple snap suplexes to throw Hirano off balance. Page hit the Golden Rule (Reverse Neckbreaker) and it seemed to take a lot of of Hirano. Hirano tried to battle back and was able to catch Page with a GTS! Hirano covered for two before Page kicked out. Page started to fight back, not giving up. Page was fired up after hitting her 1999 (Impaler DDT) and then delivering Pure Perfection (Perfect Plex). Page covered and picked up a win!
WINNER: Summer Page via pinfall @ 15:41
PRIMETIME CONTENDER TOURNAMENT
Colton Callahan Vs. Ricky Rodriguez
The main event was all set as the fans cheered on Rodriguez. Ricky came fast at Callahan and kept the rookie off balance with hard kicks. Callahan would land a strike and then Rodriguez would flip him to the mat with some sort of armdrag or takedown. Callahan hit a big clothesline that sent Rodriguez over the top and to the apron. Rodriguez hit a big springboard cross body! Rodriguez hit a big DDT and then a standing shooting star press and covered for two. Rodriguez looked for a meteora off the middle ropes but Callahan slammed him with a spinebuster. Callahan started to mount a big comeback and rolled up Rodriguez for two. Callahan started to lift Rodriguez up for something but Ricky countered into a modified To The Top (Springboard Cutter)! Rodriguez covered and picked up a victory.
WINNER: Ricky Rodriguez via pinfall @ 16:44
Rodriguez celebrated to end the show.
