Episode #120 - September 2, 2024
Mariana Flores ran down the standings of the Warfare Standings as we Bia at the top with 24 current points. With the final week of matches before Warfare, we see a few scenarios of top 6 competitors. We also see there’s no way SHURA or Olivia Diaz can make the top 6 going into the final week. We also learn that two of the matches tonight were swapped around in the Warfare series as we’d now see Leo Lions taking on SHURA and Carter Adams taking on Olivia Diaz and how it could shake up the standings!
WARFARE SERIES MATCH
Olivia Diaz Vs. Carter Adams
Adams and Diaz met in the ring for the first match and Adams hit a big leaping knee to start! Adams unleashed a lot of offense and threw hard strikes on Diaz. He lifted Diaz onto his shoulders and hit an electric chair drop and rolled into a cover and was shocked when Diaz kicked out at two. Adams quickly pulled Diaz up and started to lift for the Spite Buster (Spinning Brainbuster) but Diaz countered into a small package for two. Adams popped up and looked around, stunned, and Diaz looked for a leaping DDT but he pushed her away. She landed on her feet and he caught her with Arrested Development (Heart Punch, followed by several leaping elbows to the chest). Adams started to pull Diaz up and she hit the leaping DDT! Adams rolled out of the ring and Diaz went to the top rope and dove, taking him out. The two battled on the outside and Adams tossed her into the timekeeper area. He flipped the table over on top of her and then a few of the office style chairs. He rushed back into the ring and popped to his feet as he leaned into the ropes and smiled. The referee got his count of ten and called for the bell.
WINNER: Carter Adams via countout @ 9:33
Naturally It
Kevin Olsen is standing next to the “It Girl” Taylor Voight backstage at the Warehouse.
Kevin Olsen: I am here with one of the participants of the Warfare tournament match, “It Girl” Taylor Voight. Taylor, tonight you have a shot to be one of the wrestlers in this tournament that still has a chance to make it to the Warfare Chamber match.
“It Girl” Taylor Voight: Indeed it is, Kevin. This is the last Hype to decide who gets into the chamber match which means it is essentially a do or die night for me.
Kevin Olsen: Tonight you are facing up with the woman who is currently leading the point standings. That of course is the War Goddess Bia.
“It Girl” Taylor Voight: I am sure all of you are thinking that I have been put behind the eight ball and that I am in a no win situation. Is it because I am facing a woman that is four inches taller than me and outweighs me by forty five pounds.
Kevin Olsen: That is a hefty size difference, Taylor.
“It Girl” Taylor Voight: Do you have an announcement you want to make? Are you crowning Bia the winner of the Warfare tournament, Kevin?
Kevin shakes his head no.
“It Girl” Taylor Voight: I agree that Bia looks like a million bucks but so do I. I agree that Bia has all the talent in the world to dominate the wrestling world for the next ten to fifteen years but I have all the natural ability to dominate the wrestling world for the next twenty years. Just because Bia has a three point lead on four wrestlers, a ten point lead on Lucas and I. The winner won’t be won tonight but it can be lost tonight. That is something I won’t be doing! So come in with all the confidence you want Bia but I’ll get what I want.
WARFARE SERIES MATCH
Colton Callahan Vs. Luna Bowman
We see that Colton needs a submission win and some help to make it into the top 6. Callahan and Bowman stood across from each other and sized each other up. The two brawlers met in the ring and exchanged back and forth clubbing forearms. Bowman hit a hard chop to the chest and a jawbreaker. Bowman tried to lock in a standing cobra clutch but Callahan battled free. Callahan hit a series of uppercuts before lifting Bowman up and down with a sky high! He rolled into a cover for just two. Bowman got to her feet and fell into the corner. Callahan charged and hit a big corner clothesline. He looked for a second but ran into a big boot. Bowman grabbed Callahan and delivered the MWG Special (forward Russian legsweep)! She covered and got two before a kickout. Both competitors got to their feet and Callahan looked for a big lariat but missed. Bowman spun him around and hit the USS Indianapolis (Flowing snap DDT)! She covered for the three count!
WINNER: Luna Bowman via pinfall @ 10:55
Quest for Glory
EARLIER TONIGHT
“Spoiled” Summer Page is on her phone as she walks into the backstage area of the Warehouse.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: No, no, it’s all good Lacy. You enjoy your holiday with Serena and your kids.
Summer pauses as she listens and smiles.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: I am sure you’ll be watching.
Summer pauses as she listens and smiles.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: You got it, girl. I’ll text you this week.
Summer hangs up her phone and slides her phone back into her back pocket of her jeans.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: We all saw what happens when my girl, Lacy, and I work together. We simply cannot be stopped. All of you on the Empire Wrestling roster needs to realize that if they ever think about messing with either of us.
Summer waves at a couple of Empire Wrestling employees who wave at Summer as she passes them by.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: Now, I get back to focus on what my primary objective is. That, of course, is becoming the Empire Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion. With great apprehension I say this because it reminds me of the person I used to be but I feel it holds true…It is my destiny to become the Empire Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion.
Summer makes a left turn and goes down a hallway.
“Spoiled” Summer Page: As I am sure all of you know by now that along with the Warfare tournament that is going on with some of the great young wrestlers in it, along with championship, and contenders matches going on, that I am stepping into the ring with Casey Grey once again, along with Johnathan Daemon in a big triple threat match. While I have never been in the ring with the self proclaimed, Emperor of Empire Wrestling, I have to admit I have to appreciate his style. This man is going around thinking he is an emperor. I must admit I have been known to speak highly of myself in my day hence why I appreciate what you’re doing Johnny but let's be real here, Johnny. If you spent a little more time working on your craft rather than walking around with your head up your own ass you might actually have a championship or two around here but hey do you, Johnny. While Casey and I have crossed paths once or twice. I am pretty confident I’ve got you figured out, girl, because while you probably don’t think of it as a problem I see that temper of yours as a fatal flaw. Yes, I said temper. Anyone can see that it just seeps from your pores. That will help me in my quest to walk out of the Warehouse tonight with the victory.
Jonathan Daemon Vs. Summer Page Vs. Casey Grey
The three competitors stood in the ring and Daemon readied for a fight. Page and Grey both attacked Daemon and he was able to connect with palm strikes and takedowns. Daemon took Grey out with an exploder suplex that sent her up and over the top ropes. Page hit a jumping knee to Daemon and he staggered back for a moment before blasting her with the Profound Refusal (Running Shotei strike to the Face)! Daemon had control of Page for a bit before Grey re-entered the match and took Daemon down with a lariat. He got back to his feet and she took him right back down with a jumping snapmare. Grey was fired up but it was short lived as Page hit her with the Spoiled Rotten (Backstabber)! Page got to her feet and took Daemon down with a slingblade. She quickly pulled Grey up and sent her into the ropes and delivered a tilt-a-whirl into a Russian leg sweep. Page got to her feet and started to set up Perfect 10 (Figure 8) but Daemon spun her around and delivered the Ritual Disembowelment III (Fireman’s Carry into Single knee kneeling gutbuster). Page rolled out of the ring and Daemon grabbed the fallen Grey and connected with his Cruelty of Nero (Double Wristlock Knee Strike)! Daemon nonchalantly covered and got the win.
WINNER: Jonathan Daemon via pinfall @ 14:01
WARFARE SERIES MATCH
SHURA Vs. Leo Lions
SHURA and Lions were up next in the Warfare Series as the two locked up. SHURA landed hard chops to open things up but Lions didn’t back down. SHURA and Lions went back and forth as Lions started to uplexbattle back with a series of suplexes. Lions hit a tornado DDT out of the corner on SHURA and had control. Lions locked in his Lion Tamer and tried to get SHURA to tap but he was able to reach the ropes. SHURA started to battle back and dumped Lions on his head with a belly to back suplex! SHURA pulled Lions up and started to set up for a powerbomb and Lions countered into a sunset flip. He flipped over with a bridge and SHIRA struggled and couldn’t kick out before 3!
WINNER: Leo Lions via pinfall @ 8:09
Angelica Matthews vs Missy Propaganda vs Manic vs Harper Mason vs Jason Evans
This match was set to start as the five competitors were all jawing at each other. Manic pounced on Matthews and the two rolled out of the ring. Propaganda and Mason locked up as Evans went up and over the top rope to take out Matthews and Manic. Mason hit a big German suplex on Propaganda and climbed to her feet. She went to the top rope and dove onto the three competitors on the outside as the fans cheered. As the four started to get up, Propaganda came flying in with a tope suicida! The five competitors started to battle up the ramp as the referee lost control and tossed out the match.
After the match, we went backstage where we met with EW’s Director of Operations, Tom Carr. Carr said he saw what just happened in the ring and likes the intensity of the competitors. At Warfare we’d see the first Empire Rush match. Two competitors enter the ring and at an interval, another will enter. The match can end at any time via pinfall or submission and there’s no disqualifications (Think AEW’s Casino Gauntlet Match). The five competitors we just saw will compete, along with Casey Grey and others. That match will kick off the broadcast and the winner will compete later in the night against the winner of Chelsea LeClaire and Krista May Williams for the Extreme Championship!
Enough is Enough
Chelsea LeClair has an angry look on her face as she walks with the Extreme Championship that she has but she winds up almost running into Kevin Olsen. She’s able to prevent herself from going off on him and keeps things on a professional level, but the look on her face indicates she’s not happy.
Kevin Olsen: Chelsea, I was hoping to get a word with you at some point. Do you have anything to say about…
Chelsea cuts him off at this point.
Chelsea LeClair: What do you mean if I have anything to say? I’ve got much of it. I just want to make it very clear that I am tired of being the “victim”. I’m so tired of the disrespect that I’ve gotten. I’m the Extreme Champion! One of my defenses was even in a scramble match for god’s sake and it seems like week after week, it’s the same crap! It’s the same story! It’s someone else making a victim out of me. You saw what happened last week and I don’t need to get into it but what I am going to say is that I am sick of the same story.
I’m sick of being everyone else’s target.
I’m sick of people using me as “example bitch”.
When is enough enough? I’ve had it, Kevin! I really have. Normally, this is where I’d talk about ‘how hard everything has been’, but no, screw that. That’s a victim complex and I am not going to abide by that victim complex anymore!
Kevin Olsen: It goes without saying that you’re fired up and for good reason. Krista May Williams of course, might even have a psychological edge considering…
Chelsea LeClair: Considering what? Her blindside bullshit from last week? No, I don’t accept that narrative. I don’t want to hear about falsehood narratives like that. The fact of the matter is, she’s going to get what she deserves, she’s going to be that “example bitch”, and when I give her the beating she deserves, that’s going to be a message to everyone else that I’m not going to take this shit anymore. You can only be pushed around for so long before you finally have enough and I’m not just on the edge, I’m over the edge. I’m done with this crap, Kevin. I’m done being the pushover. I’m just fucking done with it all. I’ve got to dig deeper into a place within me that I really don’t like getting into. But at this point? It’s necessary. This is where I silence all the crap and start enforcing some dominance and some initiative around here. Krista doesn’t realize what she’s just awakened and when I’m done with her?
People aren’t going to think of me as “sweet, innocent, pushover little Cinderella Chelsea LeClair” anymore….
I’m done with being passive because all being passive has done… well… you’ve seen it for yourself.
No more…
Chelsea rolls her eyes and doesn’t allow Kevin to say another word as she then goes about her way at this point.
PRIMETIME CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER MATCH
Ricky Rodriguez Vs. Claire Talbot
The fans were behind both competitors as the match was set to start. Talbot and Rodriguez exchanged quick takedowns and smiled after a minute of back and forth action. The fans stood and cheered and they went back and forth with roll ups and pin attempts to end things early! Talbot looked for a headscissors takedown but Rodriguez countered with a cartwheel. He looked for a roundhouse kick that missed as Talbot ducked but he caught her with a pele kick. Rodriguez hit the ropes and delivered a running shooting star press that popped the fans but only got two as she kicked out. Talbot was sent into the corner in one spot and as Rodriguez charged, Talbot countered with a sunset flip powerbomb! Both got to their feet and Talbot hit him with a standing dropkick. She went into a cover for just two. She looked to the corner and went up top. Talbot looked for her Flying Fox (Sky twister press) but Rodriguez was able to roll out of the way. Talbot slowly stood, holding her back, and Rodriguez hit her with the To the Top (Springboard Cutter)! She rolled her into a cover and Talbot got her foot on the rope just before three three. The fans couldn’t believe it and popped. Rodriguez wasted no time and started to pull her up to her knees. He called for Spirit Evolution (Running Stomp to the face of a seated opponent) and Talbot moved! She jumped up and flattened him with a jumping complete shot. Talbot went to the corner and delivered Flawless (Double Jump Moonsault) and covered for the win!
WINNER: Claire Talbot via pinfall @ 17:44
Talbot and Rodriguez shook hands in the ring after the match. We got a shot of Rodriguez walking backstage right after the match and he ran into Tom Carr. Carr shook his head and said both he and Talbot are the future of this business. Carr then told Rodriguez to bring his boots next week as he was going to book him against Spartan Champion Travis Levitt with the title on the line.
EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP
Krista May Williams Vs. Chelsea LeClair (c)
LeClair came out with a kendo stick as the ring was staged as is every Extreme Division match, with trash cans filled with items around the ring. Williams came to the ring by herself and LeClair started to unload as the bell rang! Williams ate a few shots and then was able to break things up with a dropkick to the knee. Williams hit LeClair with a big kick to the ribs as she started to get on all fours. Both competitors were up and Williams had brought a trash can lid in. She smacked LeClair in the head with it and it just fueled LeClair as she pounced on her opponent. LeClair started to slam Williams’ head on the mat and the fans booed as Williams’ partner, Kayla Taylor rushed to the ring. LeClair turned and met Taylor with forearms to the face and tried to fight her off. Williams took LeClair down with a chop block. The Freaks started to pick apart the champ as the fans booed. There was a pop as Harper Blake rushed to the ring. Blake, Taylor’s former partner, stood across from her. She picked up a chair and hugged Taylor and then Williams! The fans were stunned as Gemma Foster reminded everyone that Taylor stabbed Blake in the back years ago as she left the team to rejoin Williams. LeClair started to stand and Blake swung the chair and hit Taylor in the back! The fans cheered as Blake started to unload on Taylor and Williams was stunned. She turned back to LeClair who was up and looked for her Season Ender (Shining Wizard) but LeClair hit a spear! LeClair went to the top and delivered Canceled (Corkscrew Moonsault)! She covered and picked up the win.
WINNER AND STILL EXTREME CHAMPION: Chelsea LeClair via pinfall @ 15:30
Blake and LeClair met in the middle of the ring and Blake said she didn’t forget LeClair wanting to avenge her loss and pointed at the title as we cut away.
Caged Animal
Our scene opens with Lacy Hartson sitting on a beach, laying and soaking up sun. She sits up and takes a deep breath of the ocean air.
Lacy Hartson: Next week two women are going to be locked inside a steel cage. They’re going to walk in as great wrestlers, very different in style but both great in their own right. Both have seen different levels of success. Both have loved ones. Loved ones that are going to have to watch these two women tear each other apart. Two loved ones that are encouraging them to do whatever it takes to end the other.
Lacy removes her sunglasses and smirks as she looks at the camera.
Lacy Hartson: Eve, next week at Warfare, I’m going to end you. You were a fool for accepting this match. The payoff bout! You want your win back so badly but the thing is? You just aren’t on my level. You’ve come to Empire Wrestling and have done what? Won a couple matches? I’m the headline in this company even when I don’t carry gold. Pinfall. Submission. Escape. All I know is that you are going to be nothing more than a footnote in my journey.
WARFARE SERIES MATCH
Moon Doorells Vs. Lucas Branson
Moon was a big favorite as she made her way to the ring. Branson got a good pop from the fans as he entered next. The two circled each other and we got the match underway. Branson tried to start things slow with a few headlocks and takedowns. Doorells flipped up to her feet and hit a springboard arm drag and kipped up. The two locked up and exchanged leg takedowns and Branson looked for a bridged pin but just got one. Doorells hit him with a forearm and then an uppercut. This opened him up for her three amigos suplex combo. She ran the ropes and delivered a rolling thunder! She crashed down onto Branson and covered for just two. The two went back and forth with strikes and Branson hit a few suplexes. The match started to swing for Branson once he hit Doorells with a big corner clothesline and bulldog combo. Doorells staggered and fell back into the corner and was hit with Let it Ride (Helluva Kick)! Branson covered but could only get two. Branson had control of the match and slowed it down for a bit. He eventually started to set up for the Las Vegas Special (Double Arm DDT) but Doorells blocked by wapping her leg in the middle rope. She got the break and hit a drop toe hold into the ropes as he charged! She ran the ropes and delivered the tiger feint kick. She went to the top rope and hit a picture perfect frog splash and covered! The fans were shocked as Branson kicked out at two. Doorells tried to catch her breath and started to pull him to his feet. Branson looked for Triple 7s (RKO) but Doorells pushed him away. She hit a step up enziguri and he fell into the corner. Doorells got him to the top rope and followed. They started to battle and Branson hit a big headbutt. Branson tried to lift Doorells up and was looking for a brainbuster but Doorells fought him off. Doorells got Branson in position and hit a Canadian destroyer off the top! The fans roared as both competitors were down. The referee started his count and neither could make the ten count as the bell rang!
DRAW! @ 17:22
The fans cheered both competitors on as they started to come to and realized what happened and looked at each other. Trainers checked on Branson as he assured them he was okay and we cut away.
WARFARE SERIES MATCH
Taylor Voight Vs. Bia
Voight came out first to boos as she smirked and brushed it off. The fans sang Hell’s Bells as Bia came out to the ring for the main event. Voight walked up to Bia and looked around the Warehouse. She put her arms out and walked away, taunting Bia. Bia grabbed her from behind and looked for a German suplex and connected. Voight was able to get up and quickly delivered the Kickstart (Step up Enziguri)! Bia climbed to her feet and Voight charged and looked for a shoulder tackle but bounced off as Bia stood her ground. Bia lifted Voight up in the air with a military press and dropped her as the fans cheered. Voight got to her feet and ran right into a big spear! Voight rolled to her feet and Bia hit a big release German suplex. Voight rolled out of the ring to regroup. Bia went after her and was tripped up and pushed into the barricade. Voight rolled into the ring and waited. Bia climbed back in and Voight hit Tay Drop (Code Red)! She covered for two! Bia got to her feet and Voight looked for the It Girl (Spike DDT) but Bia countered into a northern lights suplex. Bia pulled Voight to her feet and carried her around the ring before hitting a running powerslam! Bia covered and Voight kicked out at two. Voight got to her feet and went to the corner and tried to call the referee over, saying she was hurt. Bia walked over and the referee was stuck between them. He tried to move out of the way and Voight hit an eye poke! She rolled Bia up and almost had a three before Bia kicked out. Bia was dazed as she rubbed her eyes and stood. Voight looked for a headscissors takedown but Bia countered into Olympus Has Fallen (The Big Ending)! She rolled Voight over and picked up the pinfall win!
WINNER: Bia via pinfall @ 15:39
Bia celebrated in the ring as we got the standings flashing on the jumbotron.
Bia 31
Carter Adams 26
Colton Callahan 10
Leo Lions 28
Lucas Branson 16
Luna Bowman 28
Moon Doorells 23
Olivia Diaz 0
SHURA 0
Taylor Voight 14
Meaning we’d be seeing Bia, Adams, Lions, Branson, Bowman, and Doorells in the Warfare Chamber match! The winner of the match will receive 12 points in the standings. Each pinfall or submission during the match will also award points so it’s still very much an open tournament! Flores points out that with just a couple pinfalls, Bia might not even need to win the whole Warfare match to win the tournament! We get a shot of Bia as we fade to end the night.
