Episode #32 - February 14, 2020
Scott Parker: Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome to Hype! Tonight we will have the contract signing between Dave Blazenwing and Daneil Daemon for their World Championship match in two weeks!
Gemma Foster: I can’t even imagine how that’s going to go. There’s a dislike between them and you add in such a big stipulation to a championship match and things are going to be tense.
Josh Goldstein Vs. Kayla Taylor
Austin Scott stood on the stage for this match, wearing the Extreme Championship.
Gemma Foster: On the last Hype we saw Scott attack Goldstein after the match. Neither has commented on it but Scott being out here tells me he wants a match with Goldstein for some reason.
Goldstein and Taylor competed in a fast paced match that saw an exchange of arm drags and tosses. Taylor tried to end it fairly early with the Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes) but Goldstein countered into a hurricanrana. Taylor stood and Goldstein took her down with a drop toe hold onto the middle ropes. Goldstein charged and hit the 718 (Tiger feint kick). He looked for the East Coast Schlock (springboard dragonrana for the roll-up) but Taylor rolled out of the way. She turned back into Goldstein and hit him with a dropkick to the knee before hitting the ropes and hit the Plan A (Shining Wizard). She covered but only got two as he kicked out. She got in the face of the referee and turned right into Chutzpah Boot/Dreidel Drop (Running Bicycle Kick followed by a Somersault Leg Drop). Goldstein made the cover and picked up the win.
WINNER: Josh Goldstein
As soon as Goldstein was announced the winner, Austin Scott was in the ring. Scott and Goldstein came to blows as the crowd roared. Scott was taken down with a crossbody as Goldstein ran off the ropes. He looked for the Chutzpah Boot but Scott ducked it and rolled out of the ring. He grabbed the Extreme Championship and held it up.
The Challenge Part II
The camera showed us a backstage area where we saw Outlaw standing by. He was joined by resident EW Interviewer Kevin Olsen.
Kevin Olsen: Ladies and gentlemen I’m joined with a man that made his EW debut at the last Hype, Outlaw. Outlaw, it’s been 5 years since you’ve competed in a wrestling ring and you came out and called your shot. You want Ben Macbeth.
Outlaw: It’s been a long 5 years, Kev, but it’s been a refreshing 5 years. I’ve stayed in shape and my body is probably as healthy as it has ever been. I want Macbeth because he took out Adams but don’t get it twisted, it’s because I wanted to take out AJ. You see, I hate AJ Adams. I always have, I always will. I know that when he comes back he’s going to want to take out Macbeth because he’s going to want that Primetime Championship back. So if I take out Macbeth then I’ll get AJ to come after me.
Kevin Olsen: That seems simple enough but Mr. Macbeth has yet to respond to your challenge.
Outlaw: That’s fine. If he doesn’t want to come out he can send his boys. Tell Macbeth to send Midnight Special on out to play and I’ll find myself a tag team partner at the next Hype.
Outlaw looks into the camera.
Outlaw: Macbeth. I’m coming for you and that championship. It’s just a matter of time.
Sunshine Warrior II Vs. Gio DeLuca
DeLuca cut a promo about how his “bro from a’nother mo”, Dominic Salvatore was close to returning and how they were going to take the tag team division over. Until then he was ready to snuff out the sun. Warrior came to the ring but was attacked as he rolled into the ring. DeLuca hit a big running bulldog and pulled Warrior up. He looked for a blue thunder bomb but Warrior countered into a DDT. He popped up to his feet and floated to the top rope. He came flying off with ease and connected with a crossbody. Warrior grabbed DeLuca as he stood and hit the Solar Flare (Wristlock and Hook Kick) and flowed right into the Corona (Bridging Fallaway slam) and picked up a win.
WINNER: Sunshine Warrior II
Casey Grey Vs. Lacy Nelson
Alicia Monroe made her way to ringside before the match started as she was going to sit in on commentary.
Gemma Foster: Ladies and gentlemen we are joined at ringside by Alicia Monroe, who—
Alicia Monroe: I’m just here to watch my dumpster fire cousin’s match, Gemma. That’s all.
Scott Parker: Well, I’m certainly not complaining, for one.
Grey walked around the ring and shot a quick look at Monroe before rolling into the ring. She received a round of boos after the attack on her cousin two weeks ago. Lacy Nelson came to the ring next with a big pop. She climbed into the ring and things got started. The two came out hitting hard with vicious chops and punches. Nelson tried to connect with a superkick early but Grey dodged it and hit a big German suplex. Grey took control with quick strikes and clotheslines to keep taking Nelson down. Each time she’d take Nelson down, Grey would look out to Monroe.
Scott Parker: So what is your opinion on the events of the last Hype, Alicia?
Alicia Monroe: My opinion? Oh my god, Scott. What do you think my opinion is? She has gone way off the rails here. She didn’t need to do that. I mean, she could have told me what was going on but instead she hid it and worked with that black hearted devil woman willingly, against me. We could have worked together to get Buttercup back but that’s not what she did.
Gemma Foster: And what about Hell’s Belles?
Alicia Monroe: Done. It’s over, as far as I’m concerned. She wants to go off the reservation, let her.
Grey looked for her Breath Mint (Forearm Smash) but Nelson caught her arm and countered into El Editor (Hammerlock DDT). Nelson rolled Grey into a cover for two. Grey powered to her feet and fell into a corner. Nelson charged and ran into a big boot. Grey grabbed Nelson and hit the Freebird (Running Bulldog), an Alicia Monroe move. Grey threw her arms out and smirked at Monroe. Grey turned back to Nelson and walked into a superkick! Nelson covered but Grey kicked out at two. The fans were getting behind Nelson as she was starting to clap bounce around. Grey got up and threw a thumb into the eye of Nelson where the referee couldn’t see. Grey lifted Nelson up and hit the Racklash (Rack Attack). Casey approaches the edge of the ring and leans over the ropes. She’s saying something but it is unclear.
Alicia Monroe: Casey, just focus on your match! What is wrong with you?
Casey says something else.
Alicia Monroe: Stop worrying about me. I’m fine. Worry about yourself, it’s what you’re good at!
Nelson grabbed Grey from behind and rolled her up into a pin and picked up a surprise win!
WINNER: Lacy Nelson
Alicia Monroe: See, this is just typical. She’s not paying attention to what she needs to do, and this is the result. Just another “L”. She’s way off center lately, what do you think, guys?
Alicia stands up and heads to the back, leaving Casey in the ring, clearly upset about her loss. After a moment more for her pity party, she stands up and heads to the back as well.
Gemma Foster: I think Alicia planned that.
Scott Parker: I don’t think you’re wrong, Gemma.
Blazenwing/Daemon Contract Signing
The ring was set up with a covered table in the middle of the ring and a chair on each side. Blazenwing came out first to a big pop from the crowd. He was fired up as he made his way down. He posed for the crowd on the turnbuckle before jumping down. He sat in the chair and put his feet up.
Scott Parker: Dave is looking confident tonight.
The cheers turned to boos quickly as the World Champion Daniel Daemon made his way to the ring with the championship over his shoulder. He held up the prize before walking down to the ring. He climbed inside and placed the belt on the table. Gemma Foster was in the ring, standing at the end of the table.
Gemma Foster: Gentlemen. In two weeks Empire Wrestling will see the World Championship on the line in a table match for the very first time.
Dave Blazenwing: Where I’ll once again put you through a table. This time I’ll just be walking out as champion at the same time.
Daemon just scoffed and chuckled as he sat down. He looked over the contract and pushed it over to Blazenwing.
Daniel Daemon: This is your one warning, David. If you sign that contract for this match it will be the end of your career. Not only will I continue to rule the Empire, I will leave you in the ring broken. Bloody. Defeated.
Blazenwing grabbed the pen and signed his name.
Dave Blazenwing: You aren’t the first person to make that claim and you won’t be the last. It’s time to dethrone the Emperor.
He pushed the contract over to Daemon with a smile.
Daniel Daemon: It’s your funeral.
The champion signed his name to a cheer as the fans were ready for the bout.
Dave Blazenwing: See you in two weeks, Daniel.
The two stand and stand across from the table from each other. Daemon held up the championship as we started to go off air but quickly came back up as Blazenwing and Daemon came to blows. The table got pushed out of the way as Daemon pushed Blazenwing into the corner. Daemon landed a clubbing blow and hit the ropes and looked for a corner splash but was rocked with the Full Effect superkick! Blazenwing tossed the chairs out of the ring and put the table upright.
Scott Parker: All hell has broken loose!
Daemon got to his feet and hit Blazenwing with a big boot. He lifted Blazenwing up and looked for a powerbomb but Dave fought out with right hands and fell to his feet. Blazenwing lifted Daemon up and hit a Death Valley Driver through the table!
Scott Parker: Oh my God! If Dave does that in two weeks then we'll have a new champion!
The crowd was fired up as Blazenwing shook the ropes as Daemon started to get to his feet. Dave rolled out of the ring and pointed at Daemon as we went off air.
Gemma Foster: I can’t even imagine how that’s going to go. There’s a dislike between them and you add in such a big stipulation to a championship match and things are going to be tense.
