Episode #14 - March 20, 2019
Scott Parker: Welcome to episode 14 of Hype! It’s the final stop of our overseas tour as we’re here in Assago, Italy. Tonight we will be introduced to the new Extreme Division!
Gemma Foster: I can’t wait! I’m excited to see what Lio Walsh and Samantha Hamilton can bring to the table.
Scott Parker: We’ve also learned that at episode 15 of Hype we will finally see L2N in action. We’re just a few shows away from Next Level: Revolution so everyone is looking to impress.
Talia Areano Vs. Casey Grey
The Italian wrestling fans were displeased as Taila Areano was introduced first. Her betrayal in Paris was uncalled for. When Casey Grey was introduced, her reception was more positive. The bell rang and Talia didn’t hesitate to attack, beginning her assault with a Lou Thesz press and knocking Casey onto the floor. After a chain of mounted punches, Casey knocked her off and fought back, surprising her with her body scissors technique, followed by a couple of elbow shots. Casey even managed to shock Talia with her GTO (Fisherman Driver). The pinfall was only a two-count as Talia kicked out.
After Casey struck Talia with her Copperhead Road (Cobra Clutch/Single Knee Backstabber), she scored yet another two-count. The advantage was hers until Talia countered with a surprising tornado DDT. Talia refused to keep it that way, striking Casey with a roundhouse kick followed by a shining wizard. She covered Casey and hooked the leg, but Casey kicked out at two. Quick to her feet, Talia followed up with her Solar Shower (Double Footstomp). Talia hooked Casey’s leg, but once again, Casey kicked out. Casey’s adrenaline was kicking in with a shocking spinebuster. When Talia was recovering, Casey looked to collide with the Breath Mint (Forearm Smash), but Talia avoided it in the nick of time, seized Casey, and drove her down with her Slice of Heaven (Sliced Bread #2)! Talia covered Casey, and this time, she scored the three-count for the victory.
WINNER: Talia Areano, via pinfall @ 7:24
Scott Parker: Conniving as Talia Areano may be, she’s still a great wrestler.
Gemma Foster: I don’t know, Scott. I like this new turn of Talia’s.
Daniel Daemon Vs. Josh Goldstein Vs. AJ Adams
The Primetime Champion, Josh Goldstein, was out first for the match. Daemon made his way out next and he didn’t wait for Adams to come out as he attacked Goldstein in the middle of the ring. The two came to blows and Goldstein was pushed into the corner as Daemon drove his knee into his opponent’s gut over and over. Daemon tossed Goldstein across the ring with a big hip toss as AJ Adams rushed down the ring. Adams jumped into the ring and hit Daemon with a big running forearm that staggered the big monster. Adam took a few steps backwards and went for another charging forearm but ran into a big boot.
Scott Parker: Daemon is a powerhouse tonight.
Goldstein came flying off the top ropes and hit Daemon with a missile dropkick. Daemon went hard into the corner. Adams came charging and hit Daemon with a big running clothesline. Daemon staggered out of the corner and was clothesline over the top ropes to the outside by Goldstein.
Gemma Foster: Adams and Goldstein working together to get Daemon down.
Goldstein and Adams turned their attention to each other and exchanged a few blows and takedowns. Adams caught Goldstein with a jumping knee to the face and then a jumping senton combo. Goldstein rolled to his feet and was lifted up onto Adams’ shoulders and quickly fought out and to his feet. Goldstein then jumped up and hit Adams with a spiking DDT. Goldstein pulled Adams to his feet and looked for a suplex but it was blocked. Adams lifted Goldstein back to his shoulder but was hit with a big boot from Daemon that dropped Goldstein onto Adams. Goldstein got to his feet and was hit with a chokeslam. Daemon left his hand on Goldstein and lifted him up and tossed him into the corner. Daemon tied Goldstein up with a tree of woe and wrapped the top and middle ropes around the ankle of Goldstein to hold him in place. Daemon turned and walked into the Last Call (Codebreaker) from Adams! Daemon staggered and Adams set him up for the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail) but Daemon spun out and lifted Adams up, hitting the Twist of Cain (Jumping Spinning Tombstone). Daemon covered Adams and picked up the win.
WINNER: Daniel Daemon via pinfall @ 8:34
Daemon looked pleased as the referee helped Goldstein off the ropes.
Scott Parker: Daemon sending a BIG message here tonight.
#GetChaneyLaid
It had only been two weeks.
Two weeks since Johnathan Fitzsimmons brought the evil back into his life. He hasn’t even been booked on a single episode of Hype yet and at every turn, he saw the t-shirts. It was trending on Twitter. Even backstage at catering, which Allen considered his safe space. A backstage worker unfamiliar with the meme save for seeing the shirts tonight approached him.
Crew Member: “Hey you’re the guy who needs to get laid, right?”
Allen Chaney: “Nope, can’t be me since I’ve been fucking your mother so often.”
The worker is about to respond until Allen takes the plate of food out of his hand calmly and dumps it in the trash.
Allen Chaney: “You go to concessions and you PAY for your food.”
Slightly frustrated yet astounded, the crew worker leaves the vicinity of Allen’s sanctuary. As he disappears around the corner, Rosalyn Fernandes appears from around it, her hands in the pockets of her navy blue windbreaker jacket. For the time being, she’s without her husband Leonardo. She walks up to the catering table, up to Allen, and smirks.
Rosalyn Fernandes: “Hey, it’s good business. You saw what hashtag ‘Get Chaney Laid’ did for you last time. You should be grateful for the opportunity.”
Allen Chaney: “I’m not like everyone else. I don’t like having my personal life splashed all over twitter and television. If I was ‘getting laid’ there’s a definite possibility that very few people would know about it.”
Allen sighs and takes a deep breath.
Allen Chaney: “...but the merch checks have been nice. Anyway...what’s up?”
Rosalyn Fernandes: “I’m curious as to what brought you back to the squared circle. I thought you said you were going to stay retired?”
She raises a brow in wonderment. Reaching over to the catering table, she takes a plate and serves herself authentic pasta with rich tomato sauce and a giant meatball. She takes a fork and begins to split the meatball into smaller pieces, then she adds a little more sauce on top.
Rosalyn Fernandes: “Joining the extreme division is certainly not staying retired.”
Allen Chaney: “Only thing I’ve ever been good at is hurting people, and until the local grocery store in my neighborhood needs a head-stomper, this is pretty much my only option to make a living. See? You’ve got me talking about my personal life on camera. This is the opposite of what I wanted. If I didn’t know what happens if you take food away from a pregnant woman that plate would so be in the trash.”
At this, Rosalyn shoots him a glare and savors the first bite of her spaghetti and meatballs. She chews thoroughly, then swallows and looks him in the eye.
Rosalyn Fernandes: “Yes… take food from the pregnant daughter of Chelsea Pryce and Jack Darling, the sole heir of the Darling and Pryce legacy. See what happens.”
It’s quite the bold warning. She enjoys another bite of her food before she looks up at the larger, taller man.
Rosalyn Fernandes: “Okay, let’s not focus on your personal life. What’s your intention for the extreme division? How many people are going to die laughing?”
Allen Chaney: “I was a BWF World Champion and I won that title by being the most vicious man on the planet. Now that there’s gonna be a title that rewards that kind of behavior? Not a chance that it won’t be mine.”
Rosalyn Fernandes: “Can’t argue with that.”
With a casual shrug, she continues to enjoy more of the delicious plate of food. Rosalyn’s eyes look up to Allen, a genuine care and concern for him.
Rosalyn Fernandes: “Just be careful, Big Bear. Hardcore divisions are renowned for deathmatches and those… are fucking brutal.”
Allen Chaney: “I know what I’m getting myself into, Ros. Besides, it’s a little early to be concerned. Until I actually get booked in a match I have to settle for being the toughest man in...catering. That one is probably not making any t-shirts.”
Rosalyn Fernandes: “It’s not, but that’s why you’ve got #GetChaneyLaid!”
With a sly grin and another bite of her food, Rosalyn bows her head and dismisses herself. Allen shakes his head, but as someone he has previously banned from catering approaches, he rushes to scare them off and slowly, the scene fades to black.
Glorious Bastards Vs. The Purge Vs. Glory Daze
The match got off to a pretty slow start, as quick tags and keeping to their corner allowed The Purge to take early control of the match until finally, Lacey Gloria managed to whip Artemis to the other corner and Ollie Maverick got a blind tag, quickly jumping on to the ropes and hitting Lacey with a missile dropkick then kipping up to his feet and hitting her with Dance Dance Execution (Breakdancing Leg Drop) while she’s down and making a quick cover but Lacey kicked out at 2.
It was at this point that the match became a rip-roaring mess of tags and finishers. Lacey managed to tag in Derrick Daze who dropped Ollie with a Collapse Generation (Rainmaker DDT) but the pin attempt was broken up by Johnny Maverick who yanked Derrick to his feet by his arm and used that arm control to nail Derrick with the Third Eye Opener (Ripcord Bicycle Knee Strike) only to turn around and be leveled by The Antidote (running big boot followed by a shining wizard) from Ellen Shrader who didn’t even get a chance to celebrate before she was locked up and brought down with a Gory Gloria (Fameasser from a Killswitch setup) but of course she ended up receiving an Artemis Wrath(Air Raid Crash) and just when it looked like that was the end as Artemis covered Derrick, the crowd went crazy as Ollie Maverick managed to get to his feet and break up the pin.
Artemis stood and turned to face Ollie as Johnny, Ellen, and Lacey rolled out of the ring to regroup, the ref tried to regain some control but Ollie ducked under a clothesline attempt from Artemis and nailed her with a 360 No-Scope! Artemis rolled out of the ring and Ollie got caught with a surprise rollup from Derrick but kicked out at two. Lacey Gloria attempts to argue with the referee but that proves to work against Glory Daze as Johnny slides into the ring and Ollie flap jacks Daze into the Third Eye Massacre! (Flapjack into a single knee facebreaker) and Johnny rolled out and Ollie got the 3!
Winner: Glorious Bastards via pinfall @ 10:42
Gemma Foster: Well, ladies and gents, we’ve got our official number one contenders for the Empire Wrestling Tag-Team Championships!
Scott Parker: And I honestly hope Glorious Bastards dethrone Freaks With Benefits. They’ve been causing too much strife here in Empire.
Gemma Foster: Hey, I’m all for girl power. Johnny and Ollie are going to have a tough time, but it should be a good match up!
Extreme Division Match
Lio Walsh Vs. Kaito Hirano
There was a lot of buzz as the match was set to start. Walsh carried a chair to the ring with him and tossed it in. He reached under the ring and grabbed another. And another. And then a kendo stick. Hirano followed suit and came out with a kendo stick of his own. The bell sounded and the two came to blows. The two strikers went back and forth with forearms and elbows before Hirano caught Walsh with a spinning back kick to the gut. Hirano went for a pele kick but Walsh dodged it. Hirano rolled to his feet and was quickly taken down with a Russian leg sweep. Walsh grabbed one of the chairs and set it up in the middle of the ring. He grabbed Hirano and took him down with a drop toe hold, right onto the chair. Hirano was stunned as Walsh pulled him to his feet and then hit Hirano with a back drop onto the chair.
Scott Parker Walsh using that chair to wear down Kaito.
Walsh rolled into a cover and got two as Hirano kicked out. Hirano pulled Walsh down with a headlock and then rolled to his feet. He grabbed the kendo stick and cracked it over Walsh’s head. Hirano followed it up with a shot to the back. Hirano lifted Walsh up and hit a blue thunder bomb onto the now crumbled chair. Hirano rolled into a cover for two. Both men were starting to feel the effects and climbed to their feet. Walsh sent Hirano up and over the top ropes and then speared him through the middle ropes and to the floor. The fans were loving the action as Walsh got Hirano up and hit him with a spinebuster onto the announcer table. He pulled Hirano onto his shoulders but Hirano slipped away and hit a tornado kick to the side of Walsh’s head. Hirano looked under the ring and grabbed a table and slid it into the ring. He climbed in and set it up as Walsh was getting to his feet. Both men were back in the ring and Hirano looked for a jumping DDT but was pushed away. Hirano charged and was caught by Walsh’s Made of Nightmares (Rock Bottom) right through the table! Walsh covered and picked up a three for the win.
WINNER: Lio Welsh via pinfall @ 13:10
Scott Parker: And a great debut for Lio Walsh here tonight.
Extreme Division Match
Sam Hamilton Vs. Gio DeLuca
Hamilton made her way to the ring first as the fans awaited the arrival of DeLuca. His music hit and he got a nice pop.
Gio DeLuca: So here she is. The “Titaness”. What a joke that is. The Titaness, the Comedian, the Jew Blazer, the Ice Queen, the One Woman Army. All a bunch of names that at the end of the day just try to get your attention. Gio? He doesn’t need any fancy name to catch your name but you can catch this fist! The O.H., original hater, is here and I’m flying solo while my boy Dom is rehabbing a knee.
Gio points to the sky.
Gio DeLuca: Get well soon, buddy. Tonight is for you, Dom. This challenge? About to end it.
DeLuca rolled into the ring and tossed the microphone at Hamilton and charged. He speared her to the mat and started to land left and rights.
Gemma Foster: Woah! Some fire in Gio tonight!
He jumped to his feet and started to stomp around. He pulled Hamilton to her feet and looked for a right hand and she ducked it. She lifted DeLuca up from behind and dropped him with a Lumber Check. She picked up the microphone DeLuca had and popped it over his head as he stood. He staggered and was hit with a kick to the gut. He pulled Hamilton down by the hand and she went falling through the ropes. DeLuca readied himself and charged, hitting a big plancha over the top ropes.
Scott Parker: A different side of Gio than we’ve seen in a long time. Now he’s going under the ring!
Gemma Foster: Give Sam a second. She’s getting used to the new surroundings!
Gio had a chair but Hamilton quickly kicked it out of his hands and sent him hard into the barricade. Then she tossed him across the steel steps. DeLuca’s knee bounced off the steps and he staggered to his feet. Both competitors rolled into the ring and Hamilton caught DeLuca with a big AA spinebuster. Hamilton pulled DeLuca up and onto her shoulders before hitting a GTS. DeLuca fell to a knee and Hamilton forced him into a cover but only got two. DeLuca popped Hamilton with a hard right hand and it dropped her!
Scott Parker: Gio’s got brass knuckles!
DeLuca stood and got a series of boos as he held up his fist with the brass knuckles. It wasn’t enough to keep Hamilton down as she started to get to her feet. He readied herself and ducked another right hand. She spun DeLuca around and hit him with the Wrath of the Titans (Pedigree)! She covered DeLuca and picked up the win.
WINNER: Sam Hamilton, via pinfall @ 6:41
Gemma Foster: And the first ever Titaness Challenge goes to the Titaness herself. Welcome to Empire Wrestling, Sam!
Chelsea Pryce Vs. Zoey Mathews-Mitchell
It was time for the main event and Pryce, the Heavyweight Championship on her shoulder, stood in the middle of the ring. The fans seemed confused as L2N came out to the stage and she didn’t leave the wondering why long.
L2N: Ladies and gentlemen. For weeks now I’ve come out here and “made enemies” as Ms Pryce would put it. For weeks you’ve only known me as “L2N”. Hype 15 takes place in LA, Cali and I can’t wait to tell you all more about me. There is one thing I’d like to say before we all watch Mathews-Mitchell and Pryce go at it. I don’t know where F.M. Young is or if her resting up is just a way of hiding, but it’s time for someone to step up. I’m coming for that championship, Chelsea. I said it weeks ago but I’ve come to change the landscape of Empire Wrestling. All of this has just been the prelude for what’s about to happen.
She dropped her microphone as Pryce held up her championship. Mathews-Mitchell walked out to the stage and was immediately superkicked by L2N.
Scott Parker: And she strikes again!
L2N grabbed Mathews-Mitchell and pulled her to the side of the stage. She looked down and smiled at the tables and geat under them. Pryce jumped out of the room and made the save as she chased off L2N before she could powerbomb Mathews-Mitchell off the stage. Pryce checked on Mathews-Mitchell as we started to fade to black.
After the Show
The feed came back up as Empire Wrestling's liaison for the Powers the Be, Sara Logan, came out to the stage and didn't seem too happy.
Sara Logan: This isn't how we wanted to end our overseas tour of Empire Wrestling. Chelsea, Zoey, at the next Hype the two of you will get the match promised to the fans.
Mathews-Mitchell said she was ready to go now and Pryce was willing to compete still is Zoey was okay to compete. The fans cheered for both women as they made their way to the ring.
Sara Logan: Then, the match is on now!
Mathews-Mitchell and Pryce circled each other as the bell sounded to make the match official as Logan chimed back in.
Sara Logan: Oh, and it's for the Empire Wrestling Heavyweight Championship.
Pryce seemed shocked and turned her attention to Logan briefly as Mathews-Mitchell looked to roll up the champ and got a shocking two count. Pryce popped up to her feet and had to dodge a running back elbow. Pryce grabbed Mathews-Mitchell from behind and hit a reverse DDT. Pryce pulled her right back to her feet and hit a discus clothesline. Mathews-Mitchell rolled away and used the ropes to get to her feet. Pryce connected with a hip toss and quickly tried to lock in the Natural Disaster (Cross Legged STF) but Mathews-Mitchell was able to get herself to the bottom ropes.
Gemma Foster: Good ring awareness there from Zoey.
Scott Parker: This match is ten times bigger with the title on the line. One mistake and from Chelsea and we might have a new champion.
Pryce backed up and Mathews-Mitchell got to her feet. Zoey ducked a charging Pryce and spun her around before hitting the Combustion Kick (Wind-Up Overhead Kick)! Mathews-Mitchell went for a cover and got a two count. Pryce pulled herself up and had to struggle away from Mathews-Mitchell trying to lift her up onto her shoulders. Pryce landed on her feet and caught Mathews-Mitchell with a picture perfect K.O. Shot (Roundhouse Kick). Mathews-Mitchell fell backwards onto her butt and was hit with a flipping blockbuster as she tried to roll over and push herself up. Pryce then flipped into a small package roll up but got a two count pin. Both competitors got to their feet and Mathews-Mitchell seemed stunned from the superkick earlier and now the KO Shot. Pryce was hit with a kick to the gut and Mathews-Mitchell connected with the Faceplant (Famouser). Instead of a cover, Mathews-Mitchell pulled Pryce up. She started to set her up for the Z4 (C4) but Pryce battled out with hard elbows to the side of the head. This stunned Mathews-Mitchell and allowed Pryce to hit the Pay the Pryce (Double Knee Facebuster) and cover for the win.
WINNER AND STILL EW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: Chelsea Pryce via pinfall @ 14:04
Pryce took a deep breath as she sat in the corner and was handed the championship. She looked up the ramp and L2N stood there, slowly clapping, as we went off air.
