Episode #21 - August 14, 2019
Scott Parker: Hello everyone and welcome to Hype! Tonight we have a great show planned for you with a main event that should be combustible. Our World Champion, Daniel Daemon, is teaming up with Lacy Nelson, who holds a contract for a title shot WHENEVER she wants it. And they’ll be taking on the returning Chelsea Pryce and FM Young, both of who have issues with both Daemon and Nelson. I don’t know if one single referee will be able to keep things under control tonight.
Gemma Foster: Do you think that Lacy could invoke her contract tonight? Can you imagine if she did!? She’s coming off a pinfall victory over the Primetime Champion so you have to believe she’s feeling really good about herself right about now.
Scott Parker: It’ll make for an interesting match for sure.
Mighty Jo Young w/ Riley Rouse Vs. Krista May Williams w/ Kayla Taylor
We got a quick recap from Episode #20 where Rouse defeated Taylor with some miscommunication between Taylor and Williams, then the aftermath where Taylor walked away from Williams. Taylor and Williams seemed to talk before the match but the chemistry didn’t seem to be clicking as it has in the past.
Gemma Foster: I haven’t talked to Krista or Kayla but it seems like they’re in a bit of a lovers’ quarrel lately.
Taylor stood on the apron and talked to Williams. The referee asked her to get down and was ignored. Williams smiled at Taylor who went to get off the apron before the referee asked her again. She snapped and started to climb into the ring to go after the referee.
Scott Parker: What is going on with Kayla tonight?
Williams held Taylor back before Rouse pulled her out of the ring and asked what her problem was. The bell sounded as Taylor pushed Rouse. Williams and Young started to fight and were quickly into a corner. Young had Williams in the corner and landed a few blows before Williams was able to block her shots and grabbed her, spinning her into the corner, and then landing blows of her own. Both competitors attention quickly turned to the outside and Rouse and Taylor were still pushing and shoving. Young was able to battle out of the corner and hit Williams with a DDT. She leaned out of the ropes to check on Rouse and Taylor and Williams tried to roll her up but only got two. Young popped up to her feet and Williams came charging for her Revertigo (Tilt-A-Whirl Armbar). Young was able to quickly roll herself to the ropes to break the hold. Both were quick to their feet and Williams ducked a clothesline before looking for a belly to back suplex. Young was able to flip all the way around and land on her feet. Williams was spun around and hit with a hard European uppercut and then the Queen Kong (Scoop Slam). Taylor slid in a chair near Williams and the referee quickly kicked it out of the ring. Taylor jumped onto the apron to argue.
Scott Parker: You don’t think that Kayla really thought the referee was going to just let the chair get used, do you?
Gemma Foster: I don’t know what she’s thinking.
Rouse had enough and pulled Taylor off the apron. The referee was yelling at both of them through the ropes as Williams got to her feet and raked the eyes of Young. Young staggered into the corner as Rouse hit Taylor with a hard clothesline. Williams reached to the outside and grabbed Rouse and started to pull her into the ring. The two struggled before Rouse was able to break free. Williams tripped and there waiting was Young who hit her with the Young Gun (AA Spinebuster). Young covered and picked up the victory.
WINNER: Mighty Jo Young
Young hurried and rolled out of the ring and met Rouse at the ramp. Taylor got into the ring and looked around confused as to what happened as Williams got to her feet. The two started to argue again before Taylor went to walk away. Williams grabbed her by the hand and pulled her back. Taylor started to swing at Williams before pulling back and dropping to the mat, rolling out of the ring, and just shook her head.
Gemma Foster: Things keep getting worse for Kayla and Krista.
Glorious Bastards Vs. Ragnarok
The Tag Team Champions came out first for the non-title tag team match that was next. Before the champs could get to the ring they were attacked from behind by Fenryr Wulfsson and Karli Frost.
Gemma Foster: Boo! Ragnarok not letting the Maverick brothers get to the ring.
Johnny and Ollie were rolled into the ring as Fenryr climbed in as Frost started to set up a table on the outside of the ring.
Scott Parker: I’m not sure what they have in mind for Johnny and Ollie but it doesn’t look good!
Ollie started to fight back but was quickly dropped by Fenryr’s Gravedigger (Full Nelson Legsweep Faceplant). Karli was now in the ring but she was hit with the OFMF (Running Palm Strike) by Johnny as the fans popped!
Scott Parker: And here comes the champs as they’re battling back!
Johnny turned and hit Fenryr with OFMF! Johnny pulled Ollie up and they hit Karli with the Bastardplex- (Vertical suplex lift by Johnny followed by a roundhouse kick to the back of opponents head by Ollie followed by a vertical suplex by Johnny)! Fenryr grabbed Ollie and tossed him over the top ropes and to the apron. Johnny looked for the Third Eye Opener (Ripcord Bicycle Knee Strike) on Fenryr but Fenryr moved out of the way. Fenryr hit the ropes and it knocked Ollie off who went crashing into the table on the outside!
Gemma Foster: Oh no!
Fenryr came off the ropes and was caught with the Third Eye Opener! Johnny rolled out of the ring to check on Ollie as Karli was now in the ring checking on Fenryr who shook off the cobwebs and got to his feet. Johnny helped his brother and partner to his feet and the two grabbed their championship belts as we cut out.
Samantha Hamilton Vs. Alicia Monroe
The Extreme Champion came to the ring first to a loud cheer. Hamilton wore her gold around her waist and showed it off to the crowd.
Gemma Foster: Samantha Hamilton, the first ever EW Extreme Champion, coming down to the ring for this match. It’ll be interesting to see who her next challenger is going to be for that title.
Scott Parker: You have to think a win here for Alicia Monroe will help push her to the top of the list. We know that Austin Scott is also gunning for Sam. Or it could be someone like Allen Chaney, Fenryr, or even Kaito Hirano.
Hamilton leaned against the ropes as her opponent made her way down to the ring. Alicia Monroe made her way to the ring solo tonight.
Gemma Foster: No Casey Grey behind Alicia tonight. I can’t say I’m surprised either. I don’t know what’s been going on with Casey. She’s been distracted with Rune and the rest of Ragnarok.
The match quickly started as neither Hamilton or Monroe were waiting around for pleasantries. The two locked up and Hamilton quickly had Monroe in a headlock. Hamilton flipped her down to the mat and had the advantage.
Scott Parker: Not a place you want to be in if you’re Monroe.
Hamilton started a ground and pound on Monroe. She pulled Monroe’s head up and caught her with a hard forearm to the face. The MMA style blows seemed to daze Monroe which allowed Hamilton to flow into the Exiled To Tartarus (Sleeper Hold). Monroe tried to reach back and push Hamilton off but couldn’t quite get her to. Monroe struggled and finally got to a knee and powered herself up and delivered a back drop. Monroe and Hamilton got to their feet and Monroe was able to hit a standing dropkick. Hamilton started to get up but Monroe was there to hit here with a sling blade. Monroe just right to her feet and used the second rope to deliver a springboard moonsault. She hooked a leg for a cover but only got two as Hamilton kicked out. Hamilton powered herself to her feet and ducked a clothesline and lifted Monroe up onto her shoulders. Hamilton hit Monroe with a rolling fireman’s carry slam and went right to her feet. Hamilton pulled Monroe up and quickly delivered the Zeus's Wrath (One Winged Angel) in the middle of the ring. Hamilton went for a cover but Monroe kicked out at two.
Scott Parker: I thought that was it! Hamilton has Monroe on the ropes.
Hamilton started to stalk Monroe. Monroe got to her feet and was kicked in the gut. Hamilton started to set up for the Wrath of the Titans (Pedigree) but Monroe countered with a backdrop. Monroe grabbed Hamilton as she started to stand and hit the Freebird (Running Bulldog)! Monroe climbed through the ropes and quickly climbed to the top turnbuckle. She measured up Hamilton and jumped off, hitting the Phoenix Dive (Swanton Bomb). Monroe went into a cover and got two as Hamilton just kicked out.
Gemma Foster: So close!
Monroe looked around, thinking she had three, and took a breath. She started to climb the turnbuckle again, this time looking for her White Lightning (Moonsault). Hamilton got to her feet and pushed Monroe off the top and to the floor below!
Scott Parker: Crash and burn!
Hamilton took a few moments to recollect herself as the referee started to count Monroe out. Hamilton rolled out of the ring and went after her.
Gemma Foster: Sam doesn’t want to take a count out win here tonight.
Hamilton pulled Monroe to her feet and lifted her up before rolling her into the ring. She climbed in after her and was on the opposite side of the ring. Hamilton was fired up as Monroe slowly started to stand. Hamilton ran across the ring and hit Monroe with a big spear. Hamilton jumped up to her feet and turned around, only to receive a kendo stick shot to the head from Austin Scott! The referee called for the bell as the fans booed.
WINNER: Samantha Hamilton via DQ @ 16:34
Scott was fired up as he started to unload shots across the back of Hamilton. Monroe tried to help Hamilton but Scott hit her with the Booze Cruisin' (Oklahoma Slam). Hamilton had small cuts on her back from the kendo stick shots and Scott rolled out of the ring and grabbed the Extreme Championship.
Scott Parker: Austin Scott sending a message to Sam Hamilton here tonight.
He rolled back into the ring with the gold and held it high above his head. Hamilton started to get back to her feet, ready to fight, but Scott quickly lifted her up and hit a German suplex.
Gemma Foster: That’s enough!
Scott lifted Hamilton up onto his shoulders for the Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver) but just dropped her to the mat instead. Scott looked down at Hamilton starting to get to her feet and rolled out of the ring.
Scott Parker: This is far from over between these two.
AJ Adams Vs. Josh Goldstein
The Primetime Champion Talia Areano was ringside for the match, sitting with the announce team but not wearing a headset.
Gemma Foster: Looks like Talia is scouting what could be her next challenger. Both the Jew Blazer and AJ Adams could easily be in talks to have a title shot soon. Josh Goldstein is the former champion and is looking to climb back up that hill.
Adams and Goldstein had a quick, fast paced match, as Goldstein kept things moving with kicks and seemed to bounce around the ring with energy. It seemed like Adams couldn’t quite get into a groove as Goldstein kept him guessing. Goldstein sent Adams up and over with a monkey flip and Adams rolled out of the ring to regroup. Goldstein didn’t let him breath however as he went up and over the top rope with a plancha suicida! Goldstein rolled him into the ring and went for a cover but just barely got two.
Areano, on the outside, adjusted her hair and she nodded as if to make a mental note of the action.
Gemma Foster: Goldstein looking good here early on.
Scott Parker: He’s not allowing Adams to slow this match down how he’d like it.
Goldstein walked around Adams as he started to stand and looked for a suplex but Adams was able to block it. Adams landed a few fists to the sides of Goldstein before hitting him with a suplex of his own. Goldstein got to his feet and Adams delivered a discus elbow before dropping him with a spinning backfist.
Gemma Foster: What a series of moves there from AJ!
Adams pulled Goldstein to his feet and sent him into the corner. Adams hit a big corner splash and walked his opponent to the middle of the ring. He looked for the Eat It (Fame-Asser) but Goldstein moved out of the way and looked for a school boy pin but Adams rolled through. Both men got to their feet and Goldstein jumped up and hit a hurricanrana into a pin with Adams’ shoulders on the mat. Adams just got a shoulder up in time and rolled to his feet. Adams met Goldstein in the middle of the ring and hit the Last Call (Codebreaker)! Adams let out a big huff before adjusting his knee pad.
Areano watched on and seemed slightly impressed as her eyes opened wide.
Scott Parker: Goldstein might be out of it after that knee to the face.
Adams pulled Goldstein up and started to lock in the Lights Out (Tazzmission) but Goldstein was able to roll forward in desperation to break the hold. Goldstein took a hard right hand, then a left, then a right before exploding with energy and hit a Polish hammer.
Gemma Foster: The Jewish Mallet!
Adams rolled to his feet and Goldstein looked for his Chutzpah Book (Running bicycle kick) but Adams dodged it. Adams spun Goldstein around and hit a jumping knee to the face. Adams landed and quickly floated right into the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail)! Adams rolled Goldstein into a cover as he looked out to Areano, picking up the win.
WINNER: AJ Adams via pinfall @ 15:33
Areano collected her Primetime Championship and put it over her shoulder as she stood, watching Adams. Adams stood and helped Goldstein to his feet before giving him a smile and a pat on the back.
Scott Parker: A showing of respect from AJ to the Jew Blazer.
Gemma Foster: And Talia here to see the whole thing. She might have her hands full.
Chelsea Pryce/FM Young Vs. Daniel Daemon/Lacy Nelson
Pryce came out to the ring to a big ovation as she was making her return to the EW ring. She embraced the cheers at the top of the ramp before making her way to the ring.
Gemma Foster: Chelsea is looking great! She seemed refreshed and confident.
Pryce stretched in the ring as her partner came out. Young received a nice pop from the fans as well and even took a few moments to shake hands with a few fans. She climbed into the ring and she and Pryce started to chat. The fans booed their first opponent, Lacy Nelson.
Scott Parker: L2N is here and she has a big smile on her face.
Nelson strolled down the ramp slowly as Daniel Daemon made his entrance. The World Champion had the championship over his shoulder as he made his way to the ring to a chorus of boos. The champion slowly made his way to the ring and had his gaze on all three women in the ring. He put the EW World Championship in the corner, propped up so everyone could look at it during the match, and walked up the steel steps. He stood on the apron and was ready for the match to start.
Gemma Foster: Looks like the champ wants to start this match by watching the action.
Nelson and Young were set to start things off and the bad blood was still there between these two. They quickly went at each other with a flurry of blows before Young tackled Nelson to the mat. Young landed a hard right hand and then a forearm to the face as she pulled Nelson’s head off the mat.
Scott Parker: Those MMA style strikes from FM are deadly!
Young pulled Nelson to the mat and sent her into the corner with force. Young made the tag to Pryce who entered the ring. Pryce and Young hit Nelson with a double flapjack and Nelson tried to crawl to her corner. Pryce grabbed her and started to work over knee.
Gemma Foster: Smart play by Chelsea to work on the knee of Lacy here. Make it so she can’t get off one of those devastating superkicks.
After a few moments of working the knee, Nelson was able to kick Pryce away and get to her feet. She turned for her corner but Pryce chopped the knee of Nelson. Pryce made the tag to Young and she bounced off the ropes and hit a jumping knee drop onto the knee of Nelson. Young went for a second and Nelson rolled out of the way and made a tag to Daemon. Daemon entered the ring and hit a big boot on Young. He lifted her up quickly and then delivered a backbreaker. They both got to their feet and Daemon hit Young with a chokeslam.
Scott Parker: Daemon is tossing Young around like a ragdoll.
Daemon let Young start to crawl to her own corner but held her by the foot before pulling her back up. He looked over at Pryce and then landed a clubbing blow to the back of Young. Daemon made a tag to Nelson who started to stomp on Young before pulling her up. Nelson delivered a swinging neckbreaker to Young and rolled into a cover for just two. Nelson pulled Young up and dropped her right back down with a sidewalk slam. Pryce was getting the crowd to clap and cheer Young on. Young got to her feet and ducked a clothesline from Nelson. Young grabbed Nelson and looked for a bulldog but Nelson pushed her away. Young turned and was rocked with a superkick!
Gemma Foster: I don’t know if Lacy got all of that. She didn’t plant on that knee fully as the damage has been done.
Nelson went into a cover but Pryce was there to pull her off before three. Pryce exited the ring and wanted the tag. Nelson tried to knock Pryce off the apron with a clothesline but Pryce met her with a KO Shot (Roundhouse Kick) from the outside. Nelson staggered and turned and Young met her with the Man-Machine Interface (Discus Clothesline)!
Scott Parker: Here’s the opening for Young and Pryce!
Young and Nelson both tried to crawl to their corners and they made tags as the fans exploded in cheers. Daemon and Pryce met in the middle of the ring and went blow for blow. Daemon looked for a short arm clothesline but Pryce ducked it and connected with a neckbreaker. Daemon was right to his feet and Pryce was there with her Pay the Pryce (Double Knee Facebreaker) out of nowhere! Nelson was back in the ring and caught Pryce with a superkick! She grabbed at her knee after the kick and started to pull Pryce up. She tried to position herself for the Headline (Eat Defeat) but she couldn’t balance on the one knee and didn’t want to damage it with it being the leg used for her move, so she pushed Pryce down to the mat. Nelson rolled out of the ring to the apron and reached over, tagging herself in as Daemon was getting to his feet. Daemon didn’t seemed pleased and exited the ring.
Gemma Foster: The look that Daemon just shot Nelson…
Nelson looked for a stunner but Pryce pushed her away. Pryce made a tag to Young. Young entered the ring and hit Nelson with a spear. Nelson staggered to her feet and went for a tag but was grabbed from behind and Young hit her Amazon Rage (Lumbar Check). Young made a tag to Pryce and Daemon tried to enter the ring but Young knocked him off the apron. She jumped over the top ropes and took Daemon out with a crossbody. In the ring, Pryce had the Natural Disaster (Cross-Legged STF) locked in and Nelson was forced to submit.
WINNERS: Chelsea Pryce and FM Young via submission @ 21:19
Young and Pryce shook hands in the middle of the ring but were quickly dropped with a double clothesline from Daemon. The champion tossed Pryce into the corner and hit her with a corner splash. Young stood and was grabbed by Daemon. He delivered a chokeslam and started to walk around the ring. He turned and Nelson was there to hit him with a stunner!
Gemma Foster: Is Lacy going to do it!?
Nelson looked at the referee and then at Daemon as the fans were going crazy. Daemon staggered but hit Nelson with a big boot! Pryce and Young hit Daemon with a double dropkick and he staggered to the ropes. Nelson was there to clothesline him up and over the top ropes but he landed on his feet. He stared down all three in the ring and just chuckled.
Scott Parker: Daemon is unfazed by the attacks. It’s almost as if he swatted away a fly.
Daemon grabbed the EW World Championship from the corner and held it above his head. Nelson smirked but then turned around. Pryce caught her with the Pay the Pryce! Young came off the top rope and connected with the Battery Powered Bombshell (Shooting Star Senton)! The fans ate it up as Pryce and Young shared a quick hug before celebrating.
Gemma Foster: The night not ending well for Lacy Nelson.
We get a final shot of Daemon watching on before we cut away.
