Episode #29 - December 20, 2019
Scott Parker: Happy holidays, everyone. It’s the last Hype of the year and the final show before Next Level: Turmoil. We’ll find out who the challengers for both the Extreme Championship and the World Championship are here tonight.
Gemma Foster: We learned this week that Ben Macbeth will clash with AJ Adams for the Primetime Championship.
Scott Parker: Macbeth will have his hands full as you know AJ is going to come at him hard.
Gemma Foster: Midnight Special will also be learning their challengers tonight as the Glorious Bastards take on Hell’s Belles.
Scott Parker: And our main event sees Dave Blazenwing taking on Josh Goldstein in a match that will put one of them in the World Championship match against Daniel Daemon.
Brighton Fischer & Sunshine Warrior II Vs. Kayla Taylor & Kaito Hirano
Fischer and Hirano were each set to start the match but Taylor quickly tagged herself in and rushed Fischer. Fischer caught her with a hard forearm to the face but Taylor caught right back at her with a right hand. Fischer pulled Taylor in and delivered a swinging neckbreaker. Fischer popped up to her feet and Taylor was right up to spear her into a corner. Taylor spun herself back first into the corner and hit a downward spiral that smacked Fischer face first into the second turnbuckle. Taylor tagged out to Hirano who jumped into the ring and started to rock Fischer with hard kicks. Fischer pulled herself to her feet after taking a hard kick to the side. Hirano looked for an enziguri but she ducked it and he hit the mat hard. He stood but was locked into a full nelson. Sunshine Warrior made a tag and hit the ropes and connected with a dropkick on Hirano as Fischer hit him with a snap dragon suplex.
Scott Parker: Hirano dropped on his head!
Warrior charged and hit a running senton onto Hirano. Hirano started to climb to his feet and Warrior pulled him into position for a suplex but Hirano battled out. Hirano hit a jawbreaker and then a headscissors takedown. Warrior rolled right to his feet and hit a big discus clothesline onto Hirano. Both competitors were down as the fans cheered on Fischer clapping and Warrior crawling to his corner. They both made tags and Taylor and Fischer went blow for blow in the center of the ring. Taylor pulled Fischer into position for the Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes) but she was able to get free. Fischer spun Taylor around and hit her with a ripcord knee strike before following it up with a bicycle knee strike. Fischer made a tag to Warrior and he came flying off the top rope with a crossbody onto Taylor. He covered but Hirano broke it up.
Gemma Foster: Almost!
Hirano hit Warrior with Yoi Yume O [Sweet Dreams] (Running Knee to knelt opponent). Hirano pulled Taylor to the corner and tagged himself in. Hirano went for a cover but Warrior rolled him up with a small package for two. Warrior hit Hirano with a series of chops. He then ran the ropes as Fischer made a tag. Warrior went diving to the outside and took out Taylor. Hirano turned to Fischer who caught him with the Fisch Hook (Cutter, swiftly rolled into Owari Death Clutch) and he tapped!
WINNERS: Brighton Fischer & Sunshine Warrior II via submission @ 10:03
Fischer and Warrior had their hands raised in victory as Taylor kicked the steel steps.

Alicia Monroe and Casey Grey walk through the back of the warehouse dodging production boxes and other pieces of equipment. Alicia speaks after a few seconds.
Alicia Monroe: So…has she talked to you at all lately?
Casey continues walking, not looking over her shoulder.
Casey Grey: Has who talked to me?
Alicia Monroe: Rune. Has she said anything to you?
Casey Grey: Her? No. She hasn’t said anything. She kinda buzzed around for a little bit but she ain’t said nothin’ pertinent. Why do you ask?
Casey nods at one of the production staff as she walks by. She seems to be hearing and listening to Alicia, but not acknowledging that she’s actually there.
Alicia Monroe: I don’t know. A lot of things happened with her, you know? Then she stops buggin’ us, really. But…you’ve been kinda off lately. You know…not yourself?
Casey Grey: I know. I was just…in a dark hole for a while, but I’m over it.
Alicia Monroe: And…we’re okay?
Casey stops and turns around. She sighs.
Casey Grey: Of course. Why wouldn’t we be? It’s not like you had anything to do with my life being a wreck over the past few weeks.
Casey and Alicia look at each other for a moment. Alicia looks like she’s about to say something but Casey turns and walks away, out of the field of view. Casey yells back at Alicia from out of sight.
Casey Grey: Right?
A beat. Alicia facepalms.
Alicia Monroe: Damn it.
Extreme Championship #1 Contender
Samantha Hamilton Vs. Gio DeLuca Vs. Allen Chaney
DeLuca was quickly taken out of the match as he attacked Chaney at the bell but was powerbombed over the top rope to the floor below. Hamilton and Chaney then circled each other and locked up. Chaney sent Hamilton into the ropes and caught her with a hip toss. She rolled right to her feet and speared him into the corner. Chaney hammered her back with clubbing blows and dumped her to the outside of the ring. He followed and jumped off the apron with an axe handle smash. He grabbed a chair from under the ring and cracked it against Hamilton’s back as she stood.
Gemma Foster: Vicious blow from Chaney!
Hamilton grabbed at her back and Chaney lifted her up with a back suplex onto the barricade. Chaney rolled Hamilton into the ring and climbed up to the apron and tossed in the chair before getting into the ring. Chaney set the chair up and started to get Hamilton into position for a powerbomb onto the chair but she countered into a backdrop and Chaney crashed into the open chair! She covered but only got two. Hamilton pulled Chaney up to his feet and started to drive her knees into his head and chest as she bent him over. She took a step back and looked for another knee but Chaney blocked it. He lifted her up into a bearhug and squeezed. Hamilton trashed but started to fade. Chaney squeezed harder and Hamilton caught him with a headbutt. A second forced him to drop her and she landed on her feet. They both turned right into DeLuca diving and hitting a double Bite Your Tongue (Jumps off 2nd rope to DDT)! He covered Chaney but only got two. DeLuca quickly got to Hamilton and covered but only for two.
Gemma Foster: Gio trying to steal this one!
He looked to the top rope and started to climb. DeLuca was in position and dove for Hamilton with a double stomp but she rolled out of the way. DeLuca landed but was quickly lifted up and then down with a powerbomb from Chaney. Hamilton stun Chaney around and delivered the Wrath Of The Titans (Pedigree) onto the chair! DeLuca came charging at Hamilton and she hit him with Zeus's Wrath (One Winged Angel) and covered for three!

Glorious Bastards (Johnny & Ollie Maverick) Vs. Hell’s Belles (Casey Grey & Alicia Monroe)
Grey and Ollie started off the next match and quickly locked up with each other. Grey looked for a hip toss but Ollie flipped forward and landed on his feet. He planted himself and flipped backward with a pele kick to the head of Grey. Both competitors rolled to their feet and Ollie was able to take Grey down with a headscissors takedown. Grey rolled to her knees and made a tag to Monroe. Monroe looked for a clothesline but Ollie ducked it. He turned and looked for a roundhouse kick but Monroe was able to duck under it before catching him with a neckbreaker. Monroe pulled Ollie to his feet and pushed him into the ropes. She sent him across the ring with a whip and delivered a back drop on the return. Ollie crawled to his feet and Monroe connected with a scoop slam. She looked at the ropes and ran off them and looked for a running leg drop but Ollie rolled out of the way before making a tag to Johnny.

Gemma Foster: How have you not done that over the first 29 episodes of Hype?
Johnny rushed into the ring and grabbed Monroe and hit her with a snap suplex. She rolled to her feet and Johnny took control with a snap German suplex. Monroe tried to stand but she was caught with the OFMF (Palm strike to face). Johnny looked for a cover but Grey was there to break it up. Ollie jumped into the ring but Grey quickly exited and started to cheer on her partner. Johnny made a tag to Ollie who hit a springboard leg drop onto Monroe. Ollie pulled her to her feet and sent her into the ropes and the Glorious Bastards connected with the Third Eye Massacre (Flapjack by Ollie into a single knee Facebreaker from Johnny).
Gemma Foster: Alicia Monroe is in a bad way right now.
Ollie rolled into a cover and Johnny held off Grey but Monroe kicked out at two. Grey hit Johnny with the Breath Mint (Forearm Smash) and dumped him out of the ring. Ollie looked for a dropkick to Grey but she dodged it before tossing him over the top rope. Grey jumped to the apron and started to cheer on Monroe who was crawling to her. Monroe made the tag and Grey hit a flipping senton onto Ollie and Johnny on the outside!
Scott Parker: Casey is fired up!
Grey rolled Ollie back into the ring. Grey pulled him to his feet and sent him into the ropes before catching him with a powerslam. Ollie got to his feet and walked right into Grey’s GTO (Fisherman Driver). She went for a cover and got two as Johnny pulled her off. He quickly went back to his corner as Grey went right back into a cover and Ollie kicked out. Both competitors got to their feet and hit the ropes, connecting with dueling clotheslines to take each other out! Monroe and Johnny reached for tags as Grey made hers first and Ollie next. Johnny looked for a OFMF but Monroe was able to roll under it. Monroe hit Grey’s Breath Mint on Johnny. He staggered which allowed Monroe to connect with her Freebird (Running Bulldog). Monroe ran to her corner and Grey made a tag in. Monroe charged across the ring and hit a triangle springboard crossbody onto Ollie on the apron to take him down to the floor on the outside! Grey grabbed Johnny and delivered the Copperhead Road (Cobra Clutch/Single Knee Backstabber) and covered for two!

Grey and Monroe met on the outside and hugged before heading to the back.
Scott Parker: It’s got to feel good after having a rough few months.
As they get to the backstage area they stop as Josh Cherry and Harvey Carbine, Midnight Special, the Tag Team Champions are standing in the hall. They look on at the two new contenders and adjust the belts on their shoulders. From behind walks Ben Macbeth and he smirks. The trio walk past Hell’s Belles and bump shoulders as they make their way down the hallway.
EW World Championship #1 Contender Match
Josh Goldstein Vs. Dave Blazenwing
Blazenwing and Goldstein made their way to the ring to big cheers from the crowd.
Gemma Foster: Both of these men with a lot to prove tonight. The fans are ready. Dave and Josh are ready. Who will challenge Daemon for the championship!?
Blazenwing and Goldstein shared a quick handshake to kick off the match and locked up. They tried to push each other into a corner but kept battling each other back and forth. Blazenwing eventually went to catch Goldstein with a money flip but Goldstein landed his feet. He turned and leaned against the corner. Blazenwing was to his feet and smiled. He went to charge and Goldstein got a foot up but Blazenwing stopped and grabbed it. He pulled Goldstein into the middle of the ring and connected with a capture suplex. Goldstein rolled to his feet and charged and hit a dropsault! Goldstein and Blazenwing climbed to their feet and Goldstein looked for a small package. Blazenwing kicked out just after one as both men climbed up to their feet. Blazenwing looked for a clothesline but Goldstein ducked and connected with his Hannukanrana (Reverse Hurricanrana). Goldstein started to climb to the top rope and Blazenwing rolled away and out of the ring.
Scott Parker: Dave Blazenwing using his ring smarts to roll out of the ring to get a few moments to regroup.
Goldstein jumped down to the mat and looked at Blazenwing. He started to charge and looked for a suicide dive but Blazenwing jumped up and hit him with a hard forearm as he started to get through the ropes! Goldstein crumbled to the floor on the outside before Blazenwing pulled him up and rolled him into the ring. Blazenwing lifted Goldstein up and onto his shoulder before hitting a running Death Valley Driver. Blazenwing rolled into a cover and got two before Goldstein kicked out. Blazenwing took a moment before he pulled Goldstein up and locked in a sleeper hold. Goldstein tried to roll forward but Blazenwing fell backward onto his back and side to keep the hold locked in. Goldstein started to slowly slip away and couldn’t reach the ropes.
Gemma Foster: Josh Goldstein is in a bad spot. Dave might have this!
Goldstein was able to rock forward and then backwards just enough to flip behind Blazenwing, pinning his shoulders to the mat and getting a two count before Blazenwing released the hold to kick out.
Scott Parker: The Jew Blazer showing his own ring smarts!
Goldstein fell backwards into the corner and tried to catch his breath. Blazenwing charged and hit him with a clothesline. Blazenwing ran across the ring and Goldstein dug deep and followed him and hit a clothesline just as Blazenwing turned! Goldstein was trying to fire himself up and find some energy. He blocked an incoming punch from Blazenwing before making the fans pop with the Jewish Mallet (Your standard 80's 'hulking out' leading into a devastating polish hammer)! Goldstein pulled Blazenwing to his feet and sent him into the ropes and looked for the Chutzpah Boot (Running Bicycle Kick) but Blazenwing ducked under it. Blazenwing grabbed Goldstein from behind and delivered a German suplex!
Scott Parker: Goldstein looked to end the match but Blazenwing with the big counter!
Dave pulled Josh to his feet and hit a second German suplex. Blazenwing pulled him up once more and hit a third big German suplex. Blazenwing rolled to his feet and grabbed the ropes. He started to stomp his foot and wanted to end things.
Gemma Foster: Full Effect time!
Goldstein got to his feet and Blazenwing looked for the Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music) but Goldstein ducked it. Blazenwing turned around and was taken down with a drop toe hold and he fell onto the second ropes. Goldstein ran at him and delivered the 718 (Tiger Feint Kick)! He stood on the apron as Blazenwing started to stagger to his feet. Goldstein looked for the East Coast Schlock (Dragonrana) but Blazenwing countered into a bucklebomb! Goldstein staggered to the center of the ring before turning around, right into the Full Effect!
Scott Parker: That’s it!
Blazenwing covered and the crowd counted along to three but Goldstein got his foot on the rope just in time!
Gemma Foster: Not yet! Jew Blazer digging down deep!
Blazenwing couldn’t believe it and got to his feet and talked with the referee. Goldstein rolled Blazenwing up with a school boy pin and got two. Both men were up and Goldstein hit the Chutzpah Boot! Goldstein fell onto Blazenwing with a cover and only got two!
Scott Parker: The fans are going crazy.
Goldstein looked at the top ropes and started to climb. Blazenwing dove and pushed the foot out from under Goldstein and racked him on the top turnbuckle. Blazenwing jumped to the second turnbuckle and delivered a DDT from the ropes! Blazenwing pulled himself to the top ropes and steadied himself before hitting From the Ashes (Frog Splash)! He covered and picked up the pinfall!

Blazenwing sat up and patted Goldstein on the chest before falling backwards and pointed to the sky as he laid on the mat. The crowd quickly turned as Daniel Daemon appeared at the top of the ramp and looked down to his opponent. Blazenwing pulled himself up and leaned over the ropes and pointed up to Daemon. Daemon held the title up as we went to black.

As they get to the backstage area they stop as Josh Cherry and Harvey Carbine, Midnight Special, the Tag Team Champions are standing in the hall. They look on at the two new contenders and adjust the belts on their shoulders. From behind walks Ben Macbeth and he smirks. The trio walk past Hell’s Belles and bump shoulders as they make their way down the hallway.

Josh Goldstein Vs. Dave Blazenwing
Blazenwing and Goldstein made their way to the ring to big cheers from the crowd.
Gemma Foster: Both of these men with a lot to prove tonight. The fans are ready. Dave and Josh are ready. Who will challenge Daemon for the championship!?
Blazenwing and Goldstein shared a quick handshake to kick off the match and locked up. They tried to push each other into a corner but kept battling each other back and forth. Blazenwing eventually went to catch Goldstein with a money flip but Goldstein landed his feet. He turned and leaned against the corner. Blazenwing was to his feet and smiled. He went to charge and Goldstein got a foot up but Blazenwing stopped and grabbed it. He pulled Goldstein into the middle of the ring and connected with a capture suplex. Goldstein rolled to his feet and charged and hit a dropsault! Goldstein and Blazenwing climbed to their feet and Goldstein looked for a small package. Blazenwing kicked out just after one as both men climbed up to their feet. Blazenwing looked for a clothesline but Goldstein ducked and connected with his Hannukanrana (Reverse Hurricanrana). Goldstein started to climb to the top rope and Blazenwing rolled away and out of the ring.
Scott Parker: Dave Blazenwing using his ring smarts to roll out of the ring to get a few moments to regroup.
Goldstein jumped down to the mat and looked at Blazenwing. He started to charge and looked for a suicide dive but Blazenwing jumped up and hit him with a hard forearm as he started to get through the ropes! Goldstein crumbled to the floor on the outside before Blazenwing pulled him up and rolled him into the ring. Blazenwing lifted Goldstein up and onto his shoulder before hitting a running Death Valley Driver. Blazenwing rolled into a cover and got two before Goldstein kicked out. Blazenwing took a moment before he pulled Goldstein up and locked in a sleeper hold. Goldstein tried to roll forward but Blazenwing fell backward onto his back and side to keep the hold locked in. Goldstein started to slowly slip away and couldn’t reach the ropes.
Gemma Foster: Josh Goldstein is in a bad spot. Dave might have this!
Goldstein was able to rock forward and then backwards just enough to flip behind Blazenwing, pinning his shoulders to the mat and getting a two count before Blazenwing released the hold to kick out.
Scott Parker: The Jew Blazer showing his own ring smarts!
Goldstein fell backwards into the corner and tried to catch his breath. Blazenwing charged and hit him with a clothesline. Blazenwing ran across the ring and Goldstein dug deep and followed him and hit a clothesline just as Blazenwing turned! Goldstein was trying to fire himself up and find some energy. He blocked an incoming punch from Blazenwing before making the fans pop with the Jewish Mallet (Your standard 80's 'hulking out' leading into a devastating polish hammer)! Goldstein pulled Blazenwing to his feet and sent him into the ropes and looked for the Chutzpah Boot (Running Bicycle Kick) but Blazenwing ducked under it. Blazenwing grabbed Goldstein from behind and delivered a German suplex!
Scott Parker: Goldstein looked to end the match but Blazenwing with the big counter!
Dave pulled Josh to his feet and hit a second German suplex. Blazenwing pulled him up once more and hit a third big German suplex. Blazenwing rolled to his feet and grabbed the ropes. He started to stomp his foot and wanted to end things.
Gemma Foster: Full Effect time!
Goldstein got to his feet and Blazenwing looked for the Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music) but Goldstein ducked it. Blazenwing turned around and was taken down with a drop toe hold and he fell onto the second ropes. Goldstein ran at him and delivered the 718 (Tiger Feint Kick)! He stood on the apron as Blazenwing started to stagger to his feet. Goldstein looked for the East Coast Schlock (Dragonrana) but Blazenwing countered into a bucklebomb! Goldstein staggered to the center of the ring before turning around, right into the Full Effect!
Scott Parker: That’s it!
Blazenwing covered and the crowd counted along to three but Goldstein got his foot on the rope just in time!
Gemma Foster: Not yet! Jew Blazer digging down deep!
Blazenwing couldn’t believe it and got to his feet and talked with the referee. Goldstein rolled Blazenwing up with a school boy pin and got two. Both men were up and Goldstein hit the Chutzpah Boot! Goldstein fell onto Blazenwing with a cover and only got two!
Scott Parker: The fans are going crazy.
Goldstein looked at the top ropes and started to climb. Blazenwing dove and pushed the foot out from under Goldstein and racked him on the top turnbuckle. Blazenwing jumped to the second turnbuckle and delivered a DDT from the ropes! Blazenwing pulled himself to the top ropes and steadied himself before hitting From the Ashes (Frog Splash)! He covered and picked up the pinfall!

Blazenwing sat up and patted Goldstein on the chest before falling backwards and pointed to the sky as he laid on the mat. The crowd quickly turned as Daniel Daemon appeared at the top of the ramp and looked down to his opponent. Blazenwing pulled himself up and leaned over the ropes and pointed up to Daemon. Daemon held the title up as we went to black.
