Episode #31 - January 31, 2020
Scott Parker:Hello everyone and welcome to episode 31 of Hype. Tonight we’re on the path to Next Level: Revolution. Last time we learned that Dave Blazenwing is once again going to get a title opportunity against Daniel Daemon as he defeated Lacy Nelson.
Gemma Foster: Just WHO do you think that was that got involved, Scott? We haven’t heard so much as a whisper as to what happened.
Scott Parker: If you folks missed it, our main event was interrupted by someone wearing a mask and, in the end, attacked Lacy Nelson and left her open for a superkick from Blazenwing.
Gemma Foster: Dave seemed just as confused and angry as the rest of us. I know that’s not the way he would want to win but he’s going to move forward and challenge the Emperor.
“The Gent” by Blackjack started to play which caused a roar of cheers from the crowd as Dave Blazenwing ran out onto the crowd.
The Challenge
Blazenwing made his way down the ramp and made sure to slap hands with as many people as he could before rolling into the ring. He jumped onto the ropes and was fired up to kick off the show. He called for a microphone and soaked in the cheers as his music died down. “Blaze-n-wing” chants kicked up as he smiled on.
Dave Blazenwing: There's electricity in the air here tonight in the Warehouse. I’m out here because I don’t want to wait until Next Level: Revolution. I won’t beat around the bush so I’ll come right out and say it.
Dave looks right into the camera.
Dave Blazenwing: Daemon. Me. You. Tables match for the EW World Championship.
The crowd pops.
Dave Blazenwing: This time I’m not walking out without the EW World Championship in my posession. I am the next World Champion and I will dethrone the Emperor of the Empire.
He drops the microphone and climbs out of the ring.
Scott Parker: Bombshell of a challenge there. Will the champion accept?
Doppelganger
Ragnarok walks through the back, ready for their match against Hell’s Belles. Interestingly, Karli Frost wears “Belle 01” wrestling attire, an exact copy of what Alicia Monroe was seen wearing earlier. More interestingly, Karli Frost has dyed her hair to match Alicia’s. Kevin Olson stops the three of them.
Kevin Olson: Rune…oh my god, Karli, what is the meaning of this?
Karli Frost: What? You don’t like it?
Kevin Olson: You’re dressed just like Alicia? What are you doing?
Rune Sigidottir: Don’t worry about it, Kevin. You’ll see. Soon.
Kevin Olson: My god, what did you do?
Rune shrugs, smiling.
Rune Sigidottir: Something.
Ragnarok walks away, leaving Kevin Olson watching after them, shaking his head.
Josh Goldstein Vs. Kaito Hirano
Hirano and Goldstein had the first match of the night and each were throwing wild kicks and connecting, each one echoing through the Warehouse. Hirano took Goldstein down with a backdrop and then followed it up with a running shooting star press. Hirano pulled Goldstein up and looked for a blue thunder bomb and covered but only got two. Goldstein started to power back with hard clubbing blows. He rolled Hirano up with a victory roll for just two. Hirano popped up and connected with the Osaka Bomb (Code Red) out of nowhere. Hirano looked to have the match won but Goldstein grabbed the ropes just before three.
Scott Parker: So close!
Hirano was frustrated and started shouting at the referee. Goldstein started to pull himself up and staggered forward and ducked a tornado kick from Hirano. Goldstein hit the ropes and caught Hirano with the Chutzpah Boot/Dreidel Drop (Running Bicycle Kick followed by a Somersault Leg Drop) combo and picked up the win!
WINNER: Josh Goldstein
Goldstein had no time to celebrate as he was attacked from behind by Austin Scott with a chair.
Gemma Foster: It’s the Extreme Champion!
The crowd booed as Scott unloaded multiple chair shots to the back of Goldstein while wearing the Extreme Championship. He tossed the chair down and rolled out of the ring.
Scott Parker: I think Austin just called his next shot.
Brighton Fischer Vs. Gio DeLuca
DeLuca got in the face of Fischer and pushed her away. She turned and caught him with the Fisch Hook (Cutter, swiftly rolled into Owari Death Clutch) and DeLuca tapped!
WINNER: Brighton Fischer
Gemma Foster: Brighton just made quick work of Gio.
Fischer jumped to her feet in celebration as Gio rolled out of the ring.
Hell’s Belles Vs. Ragnarok
The match begins with Karli and Alicia tying up in the ring. Karli gets the upper hand with a hairpull biel throw, earning her a warning from the referee. Karli ignores him and drags Alicia to her feet and throws her to the ropes, nailing a devastating spear on Alicia. Karli throttles Alicia then, breaking on four. Alicia tries to gather her wits as Karli snaps at the referee, but Karli grabs Alicia by the hair and pulls her up, dragging her to Ragnarok’s corner where she tags in Fenryr. Alicia is thrown to the ropes again and nailed with a kitchen sink. Fenryr drags Alicia up for an overhead belly to belly suplex, then a German suplex before moving into a Nine Days (Two Handed Suspended Chokehold). He breaks the move at four, throwing Alicia into a neutral corner. He charges in for a body smash, but Alicia moves out of the way. When Fenryr turns to face her again she kicks him in the stomach and gets in a sitout facebuster. She goes for the tag. Rune, unseen, has run around the ring and pulls Casey off the apron by the legs. Rune runs away, Casey chases, but Karli delivers a vicious lariat to Casey. Fenryr has recovered, grabs Alicia, and hits a vertical suplex. He tags Karli as Casey makes her way back to her corner. Karli immediately climbs to the top rope and when Alicia gets to her feet, goes for the AMRAAM (missile dropkick) but Alicia moves, leaning on the ropes as Karli crashes to the mat. Both struggle to make it to their respective corners, and both tag almost simultaneously. Casey rushes in to meet Fenryr, but Karli doesn’t exit the ring. Alicia, though fatigued, goes after Karli. The referee can only avoid getting knocked out as pandemonium breaks out in the ring. Casey works over Fenryr in the corner while Alicia is on the other side of the ring, pounding on Karli. Rune shouts incoherently from ringside. The referee struggles to regain control as Fenryr falls down and rolls out of the ring. Casey backs away as Alicia climbs down from the turnbuckle. Karli, who seems to gain a sudden burst of strength, pushes Alicia back into Casey, who turns around and, seemingly without thinking, grabs Alicia from behind and delivers a Copperhead Road (Cobra Clutch/Single Knee Backstabber).
Scott Parker: What the…
Gemma Foster: She just blasted her partner and she doesn’t even care!
Casey returns to her corner without so much as a sideways glance as Karli pulls Alicia into position for the Afterglow (gory neckbreaker) and nails it in the center of the ring. Karli stands up and walks to Casey, saying something. Karli slaps her and walks away. Casey looks incensed but does nothing as Karli faces Casey and mockingly pins Alicia with one foot, picking up the three count win.
WINNER: Ragnarok (7:54)
Alicia is still lying in the middle of the ring, and Casey remains in their corner. Rune watches from ringside, and she and Casey stare each other down. Casey is clearly pissed. Rune cracks a smile and backs up the ramp with Fenryr and Karli. The three of them wait at the top. The warehouse is unusually quiet as Rune points at the ring. Casey enters and curb stomps Alicia as she is struggling to her feet. Rune, Fenryr, and Karli head to the back. Casey climbs out of the ring, heading backstage. Alicia lies unmoving in the ring.
Scott Parker: What the hell just happened here?
Gemma Foster: I don’t know, but Casey just left her partner out here in the ring.
Scott Parker: She left her cousin out here in the ring, Gemma. Something’s wrong. I know there's been some tension lately, but Casey wouldn’t do that.
Gemma Foster: Well, I don’t think Alicia is going to be happy about this, and she isn’t going to let it slide.
Lacy Nelson Vs. Kayla Taylor
Nelson stood in the ring after coming to the ring with cheers. The lights went out and the fans gasped.
Scott Parker: Not again!
The lights came back up and in the ring was the hooded figure standing toe to toe with Lacy Nelson. The two started to exchange blows and the lights went back out. They came up a few moments later and Nelson was standing in the ring by herself once again.
Gemma Foster: Okay, that’s weird.
Nelson looked around and rolled out of the ring and went to the back, slightly shaken up as she looked over her shoulder.
Answer the Call
There was still a buzz in the air after the last segment as “Remedy” by Seether started to play. Leather jacket, no sleeves. Black hair with blonde highlights. Black paint under the right eye.
Scott Parker: Is that former BWF World Champion Outlaw?
The crowd was shocked, confused, and excited as Outlaw walked out onto the stage and down the ramp to the ring. He had snatched a microphone on his way and quickly started to speak, cutting off his own music.
Outlaw: For the past few months I’ve been getting into shape because it happened. That itch that every “retired” wrestler gets. That itch? Was seeing AJ Adams here in Empire Wrestling. I saw AJ on tv and it made my blood boil because we have unfinished business. So I started to bust my ass to get back into wrestling shape. Then, someone beat me to it. Ben Macbeth.
There’s a boo.
Outlaw: Macbeth took out my rival so you’d think I’d be happy. Instead, now I just want Macbeth. So here’s me answering his call. Macbeth, this is me telling you that I’m coming for you. I’m not going to jump you from behind and send a message that way. I’m going to stand here in the ring and tell you that you took my target. I’m going to stand here in the ring and tell you that I want you in the ring and I’m going to take that Primetime Championship. I’m telling everyone here in this Warehouse that I am going to become Primetime Championship so that when AJ Adams comes back I’ll be here waiting for him.
Outlaw tossed the microphone down and left the ring.
Scott Parker: Outlaw is here in Empire Wrestling and he wants Ben Macbeth.
Gemma Foster: A night of callouts!
The Belle Tolls
Alicia Monroe storms through the back of the arena.
Alicia Monroe: Casey!
Alicia knocks over boxes. She reaches the locker room and kicks the door open. Inside, Casey is waiting for her. Alicia storms up to her and grabs her by the hair and drags her out into the hallway.
Casey Grey: Let me go!
Alicia slams Casey into the boxes she kicked over and mounts Casey, raining punches on her. Casey weakly defends herself. After a couple of solid strikes, Alicia begins to choke Casey.
Alicia Monroe: Why?! You did this! You set this up! You bitch! Why?
Trainers rush up and split the two of them apart.
Casey Grey: I’m sorry.
Alicia Monroe: My ass! You betrayed me!
Alicia kicks Casey in the side of the head and manages to scape the trainers. She walks up to Casey, who is lying on the floor.
Casey Grey: I’m so sorry.
Alicia stands there for a moment looking down at Casey, who could be crying.
Alicia Monroe: Ugh. Whatever. You know what? You deal with these animals. We’re through. Hell’s Belles is over. I’ll pack tonight and be out of your apartment before the end of the weekend.
Casey Grey: Alicia…
Alicia walks away. Casey sits up, checking her lip for blood before standing and walking after her.
