Episode #33- February 28, 2020
Scott Parker: Tonight we have an explosive main event as the Emperor of Empire Wrestling, Daniel Daemon, is set to defend the World Championship against David Blazenwing. Will Daemon continue to rule the Empire or will Blazenwing dethrone him after 318 days?
Gemma Foster: I can’t even guess, Scott. This could be the biggest match here in Empire Wrestling history.
Scott Parker: The rest of the show is also going to be action packed. We’ll find out who will take on Austin Scott for the Extreme Championship at Next Level: Revolution. But first here come the Tag Team Champions!
Midnight Special (Josh Cherry/Harvey Carbine) Vs. Outlaw/?
Cherry and Carbine pumped each other up in the ring and held up the Tag Team Championships.
Gemma Foster: Since Midnight Special bust onto the scene no one has been able to stop them. I don’t know if there’s a team in Empire Wrestling right now that could take the titles off of them.
The cameras showed us Outlaw walking backstage to the ring. He stopped outside of the curtain and pointed over to someone.
Outlaw: Hey. You doing anything?
The camera panned over to show Gio DeLuca just sitting at a table playing on his phone.
Gio DeLuca: Nope.
Outlaw: Consider this scouting for when your buddy comes back.
Gio shrugged and stood up.
Outlaw’s music hit and he and DeLuca walked out to the ramp.
Gemma Foster: Gio!?
The unlikely duo made their way down and as soon as Outlaw rolled into the ring he jumped up and attached Midnight Special. He charged and hit a double running dropkick. Carbine rolled to his feet and DeLuca speared him through the ropes as the fans roared. Outlaw and Cherry went blow for blow in the middle of the ring. Cherry looked for an enziguri but Outlaw ducked it and countered into a snap dragon suplex. DeLuca and Carbine were fighting outside and Carbine sent DeLuca shoulder first into the steel steps. Carbine turned to the ring and was taken out with a tope suicida from Outlaw!
Scott Parker: Outlaw out here trying to send a message to Ben Macbeth.
Outlaw climbed back into the ring and was hit with a hard clothesline as he stood. Cherry pulled him back to his feet and sent him into the corner. DeLuca climbed up into his corner and held his shoulder. Cherry worked over Outlaw in his corner before tagging out to Carbine. Carbine got into the ring and pushed his forearm into the face of Outlaw in the corner as Cherry kicked him in the gut. The referee started a five count and the team broke. Carbine sent Outlaw into the ropes and caught him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and then went right into the Torture Crab (Boston Crab with knee in back).
Gemma Foster: Harvey Carbine working the back of Outlaw.
Scott Parker: Smart. That’s the type of thing you’d expect from ring vets like Carbine. Target the area that has given a wrestler issues and work it over. Outlaw has a history of back issues over his career.
Outlaw tried to get to the ropes but the knee in his back hindered his movement. Carbine started to slip as Outlaw struggled to move and the hold had to be broken. Carbine pulled Outlaw up and sent him back into the Midnight Special corner. Carbine hit a big corner clothesline and tagged out to Cherry. Cherry turned Outlaw around and drove his knee into the back before hitting him with a German suplex. Outlaw started to crawl to the corner but Cherry grabbed him by the foot. Outlaw flipped forward and it sent Cherry face first into the middle turnbuckle. Outlaw dove and tagged out to DeLuca. DeLuca jumped into the ring and hit Cherry with a backdrop as he came out of the corner. DeLuca hit the ropes and connected with a bulldog as Cherry stood. DeLuca hit the ropes again and was hit with a hard punch to the back of the head from Carbine that dropped him. He staggered to his feet and Cherry dropped him again with Cherry’s Jubilee (Jump Stalling Sidekick). Cherry smirked and pulled DeLuca up slowly but DeLuca hit a jawbreaker and stumbled backwards which allowed Outlaw to tag himself in. Outlaw caught Cherry with a spear before jumping to the apron. He hit Carbine with a dropkick that sent him into the post on the outside and he fell to the floor. Outlaw climbed to the top and came flying off with It Came From Above II (Frog splash). He covered but Carbine pulled him out of the ring.
Gemma Foster: So close!
Carbine hit him with a heaBlazenwingutt and Outlaw staggered backwards. DeLuca came flying off the top and took out Carbine! Outlaw rolled into the ring and ducked a clothesline from Cherry. Cherry turned and Outlaw connected with Lock-up (Black hole slam). Cherry staggered to his feet and Outlaw hit the Breaking the Law (Canadian Destroyer) and covered for three!
WINNERS: Outlaw and Gio DeLuca
Outlaw rolled out of the ring before Carbine could grab him and smiled. He patted DeLuca on the back before heading to the back.
Extreme Championship #1 Contendership Match
Brighton Fischer Vs. Sunshine Warrior II Vs. Kayla Taylor Vs. Josh Goldstein
Before the match started the Extreme Champion Austin Scott came out to the ramp to watch the match.
Fischer and Goldstein locked up in the middle of the ring while Warrior and Taylor started to exchange blows. Goldstein clotheslined Fischer over the top ropes and she went to the floor below. Taylor grabbed Goldstein. Warrior charged at them both and Goldstein and Taylor dumped him up and over the top and he took out Fischer. Golstein and Taylor exchanged holds before Taylor connected with a butterfly suplex. Warrior came flying off the top ropes and took out Taylor with a crossbody.
Gemma Foster: Action all over the place!
Fischer had rolled into the ring and caught Warrior with a bicycle knee strike that she followed up with a ripcord knee strike. Fischer started to set up for a cutter but Warrior pushed her off and Goldstein hit her with the Chutzpah Boot (Running Bicycle Kick). Taylor grabbed Warrior and delivered the Merry Go Round (Spin Fisherman Suplex). Taylor got to her feet and Goldstein connected with the Brooklyn Quebrada (Springboard Moonsault inverted DDT). Goldstein was fired up as the crowd was behind him. Fischer tried to roll him up with a victory roll and got two! Warrior came flying at Goldstein with the Crepuscular Ray (Springboard clothesline). Fischer grabbed Warrior and sent him over the top and he landed on the apron. Warrior tried to jump over the top rope and Goldstein hit him with the Chutzpah Boot! Fischer hit Taylor with the Hook, Line, & Sinker (The Bitter End).
Scott Parker: Here comes Scott!
Scott jumped onto the apron and clocked Fischer with the title as Goldstein was tossing Warrior out of the ring. Scott jumped down and Goldstein turned and covered Fischer to pick up the win.
WINNER: Josh Goldstein
Scott Parker: Scott gets his match with Goldstein.
Scott rolled into the ring and rushed Goldstein, knocking him down before locking in the Lock 'em Up (Rings of Saturn).
Gemma Foster: Oh come on!
The bell kept ringing as the referee tried to force a break before Scott eventually let go. He snactched his championship and rolled out of the ring.
Lacy Nelson Vs. Casey Grey
Nelson came out to the ring with a big cheer from the crowd as she circled the ring. Grey made her way out and charged the ring, ready for a fight. The two locked up but Grey quickly hit him with a hard right hand and then smashed her head off the top turnbuckle. Grey grabbed Nelson and delivered a snapmare facebreaker that staggered Nelson into the ropes. Grey clotheslined Nelson up and over the top and Nelson fell to the floor. Grey climbed to the apron and looked for a crossbody but Nelson spun her into a powerslam onto the floor! Nelson popped up and fell into the apron.
Gemma Foster: What a counter from Lacy!
Nelson pulled Grey up and rolled her into the ring. Grey started to stand and Nelson came in through the second rope and hit a cutter. Nelson popped up to her feet and quickly pulled Grey into position and delivered a Tiger Driver ‘97! She covered but Grey kicked out. Grey rolled to her feet and blasted Nelson with the Breath Mint (Forearm Smash)! Nelson dropped to the mat and Grey rolled her legs into a cover but Nelson kicked out at two. Nelson crawled to the ropes and used them to pull herself up. Grey charged but ran into an elbow to the face. Grey staggered backward and Nelson jumped up and hit a knee strike to the face. Nelson spun as she landed and hit a spinning back kick to the gut of Grey. Nelson hit the ropes and flipped over the bent over Grey and hit a flipping neckbreaker. Nelson kipped up to her feet and was fired up as the fans rallied behind her. Grey slowly got to her feet and Nelson lifted her up and dropped her to the mat with a sidewalk slam before covering. The crowd chanted along but Grey kicked out at two.
Scott Parker: Inches away from a win there for Lacy Nelson.
Nelson looked around and pulled her hair out of her face and back.
Gemma Foster: It might be time to unleash the boot. Might we see a superkick?
The crowd started to boo as Karli Frost, Rune, and Fenryr started to walk down to the ring slowly. Rune started to playfully cheer on and pound the mat to get Grey up to her feet.
Scott Parker: What do these three want?
Gemma Foster: Seems like they’re out here to root for Casey. Everyone remembers when Casey turned on her cousin and partner Alicia Monroe in their match against Ragnarok.
Nelson seemed distracted and it allowed Grey to charge at her with a vicious clothesline. Grey pulled Nelson up and delivered the GTO (Fisherman Driver)! Grey roared as Ragnarok kept circling the ring and cheering for Casey. Grey rolled up Nelson’s legs again and Nelson kicked out at the last moment. Grey seemed pissed and started to unload hard right hands on Nelson. She pulled Nelson to her feet and lifted her for the Racklash (Rack Attack) but Nelson was able to get free and land on her feet. Grey turned and was rocked with the superkick!
Gemma Foster: Superkick!
Nelson covered Grey and on two she was pulled out of the ring by Fenryr!
Scott Parker: Oh come on!
Nelson looked up at Fenryr and lunged up and rocked him with a heaBlazenwingutt! She staggered and rolled into the ring. Rune was up on the apron and the referee was trying to get her down. Frost was in the ring and drove a chair into the gut of Nelson before delivering the Afterglow (Gory Neckbreaker)! Grey watched on from the corner as Frost and the chair left the ring and Rune jumped down. She looked around the ring, at Ragnarok, and dropped onto Nelson for the cover and the win.
WINNER: Casey Grey
Gemma Foster: And just like that, Casey gets her win back against Lacy.
Scott Parker: And it’s because she’s sold her soul!
EW World Championship
Table Match
Daniel Daemon (c) Vs. Dave Blazenwing
Scott Parker: It’s time for our main event!
The crowd roared as Dave Blazewing started to make his way out to the ring and hit the stage. He pulled his hair back as he ran around the top of the ramp and looked out into the crowd. He dropped to his knees and looked down, then up to the sky.
Gemma Foster: Dave knows that he might not have many more opportunities like this.
Blazenwing climbed to his feet and started to make his way into the ring. He climbed up the stairs and pointed out to the fans in the Warehouse. The cheers of those fans quickly turned to boos as Daniel Daemon’s music hit and he slowly appeared on the stage. The championship was hidden behind a long trench coat like robe. He carried a cane and leaned on it.
Scott Parker: The Emperor of Empire is making an entrance fit for, well, a king.
Daemon tucked the cane under his arm and started to step forward but stopped. He smirked and undid his coat to reveal the EW World Championship. He resumed his walk to the ring and took his time. He walked around the ring and back to the ramp, never taking his eyes off Blazenwing.
Gemma Foster: Let the mind games begin. Daemon is pacing things out how he wants them.
Scott Parker: Remember folks the rules are simple. There’s no pinfalls. There are no submissions. No TKOs. The only way to win this match is by putting your opponent through a table!
Daemon put the cane down on the apron and then took off the championship. He held it in the air and started to roll into the ring but stopped and began to walk around with the title.
Gemma Foster: Daniel Daemon wants everyone to see him with that championship.
Blazenwing had seen enough and took Daemon out with a tope suicida!
Scott Parker: Here we go, folks!
Blazenwing rolled to his feet on the outside of the ring as the crowd roared. Blazenwing turned it into a hockey fight as Daemon stood, pulling the coat over his head and landing hard body blows. Daemon thrashed around and got the jacket off and pushed Blazenwing into the barricade. Blazenwing ran off the steps and hit a DDT on the outside of the ring! Blazenwing rolled Daemon into the ring and followed as we got the bell to signal the match had started. Blazenwing grabbed Daemon from behind and locked in a crossface chickenwing and pulled him to the mat with it locked in.
Gemma Foster: Dave is trying to cut off oxygen so that Daemon moves slower and he’ll have a harder time as this match goes on.
Blazenwing applied pressure but Daemon was too big to keep the hold locked in long and was able to wiggle free. The champion was able to get to his feet and tried to shake it off. Blazenwing charged Daemon connected with a flapjack. Daemon quickly drove an elbow into the lower back of Blazenwing. He popped up with incredible speed and delivered a second elbow. Daemon then drove a knee into the back of Blazenwing before Dave rolled away. Blazenwing rolled under the ropes and stood on his feet on the floor. Daemon fixed a boot strap and called Blazenwing back into the ring. Blazenwing jumped onto the apron and drove a shoulder into the gut of Daemon. Blazenwing climbed into the ring and drove a knee into the side of the head of Daemon before sending him into the ropes. Blazenwing tried for a Samoan drop but couldn’t get the neat 400 pounder up on the first try. Daemon grabbed Blazenwing and hit a gutwrench suplex. Daemon rolled out of the ring and pulled out the first table of the match. He set it up near the bottom of the ramp as Blazenwing got to his feet. Daemon rolled back into the ring and Blazenwing rocked him with a spear! Blazenwing pulled himself up and locked in a dragon sleeper.
Scott Parker: Dave realizes that he needs to keep the pressure on the champion after their last bout.
Daemon powered up to his feet and had Blazenwing on his shoulders before delivering a powerslam! Blazenwing climbed to his feet and walked right into a chokeslam! Daemon looked out of the ring at the table and lifted Blazenwing up. He powered him into a press and was set to toss him over and onto the table but Blazenwing struggled free and landed on his feet. He rolled out of the ring on the opposite side and tried to regroup. The champion went after him but walked right into a kick to the gut that Blazenwing quickly followed with ramming the champion shoulder first into the steel steps. This just made Daemon mad and he charged and rocked Blazenwing with a clothesline. Blazenwing crawled to the announcers table as they scattered.
Gemma Foster: Look out, Scott!
Daemon started to clear the table but Blazenwing grabbed an iPad and broke it on the face of Daemon! Blazenwing turned and grabbed a steel chair and drove it into the gut of the champion. Blazenwing hit a clothesline, then another, and then spiked Daemon onto the floor with a DDT.
Scott Parker: This might be it!
Blazenwing powered and lifted Daemon onto his shoulders and wanted to hit a Death Valley Driver but Daemon was able to grab the middle rope and pull himself into the ring. Blazenwing tossed in the chair and followed after him. Dave stalked Daemon and as he stood was able to connect with the Full Effect (Superkick)! The crowd roared as Daemon staggered. Blazenwing hit a second Full Effect and Daemon fell to a knee. Blazenwing handed the chair to Daemon and looked for a third Full Effect but Daemon just launched the chair at him and it cracked against his face.
Gemma Foster: Blazenwing is busted open. He’s started to bleed slightly from his forehead where that chair connected.
Scott Parker: Yes, but Daemon is moving slow. It’s still anyone’s match to win.
Daemon grabbed Blazenwing and delivered the Twist of Cain (Jumping spinning tombstone piledriver)! Daemon dropped to a knee and couldn't capitalize right away, some damage done. The crowd erupted as Lacy Nelson slowly made her way to the stage. She had ice still wrapped on her upper back and neck area but she held her dented briefcase, her blood still stained on it from Daemom.
Gemma Foster: Do it, Lacy!
Nelson started to make her way down and the lights went out. As they came back up the masked figure stood in the ring, looking up the ramp at Nelson.
Scott Parker: What in the hell!?
The masked figure met Nelson at the bottom of the ramp with the cane that Daemon brought to the ring and cracked her over the head with it. Nelson dropped to a knee and the masked figure used Nelson’s El Editor (Hammerlock DDT) on the ramp!
Gemma Foster: Lacy is out!
The masked figure looked at Daemon as they pulled Nelson up.
Scott Parker: Oh no. I think Daemon is ready to end Lacy Nelson once and for all.
Daemon slowly climbed up to the top rope and was ready to splash. The masked figure charged at Nelson and looked for a running knee stike but Blazenwing was on the outside and push Nelson away in time. Blazenwing fell backwards and onto the table. He was able to turn his head and looked up just in time to see Daemon come flying at him with a leg drop of sorts that drove Blazenwing through the table! The referee assessed if Blazenwing went through the table and called for the bell!
WINNER AND STILL EW WORLD CHAMPION: Daniel Daemon
Gemma Foster: No! No! Dave just sacrificed himself to save Lacy!
Daemon crawled out of the shattered table and was handed the championship as he smiled and laughed. Nelson checked on Blazenwing as the masked figure had seemingly vanished during the final moments of the match. Daemon held the title up and made his way up the ramp and showed it off one last time to the fans before leaving. The final shot was Nelson trying to apologize to Blazenwing as he started to come to.
