Hello everyone.
I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy in this bizarre time that we're currently in. I wanted to take a few moments to address some things that include my views on e-fedding and life mixing, our current path, what's next, and just a life update from me.
I've seen the question come up a couple times on Twitter in various circles about how to handle the current COVID-19 pandemic and e-wrestling. Do you pretend it's not happening? Do you address it? Here in Empire Wrestling we're going to address it. Yes, e-fedding can be a nice escape from what is happening but due to the severity of the situation I feel it wouldn't be right to not address it. Since EW is based out of New York, our shows going forward will be empty area matches much like WWE and AEW.
The last Hype that was scheduled will be going up later on tonight after this post. Our next show is going to be the Next Level: Revolution on 4/17. After that, for a short period of time, EW will be going to a weekly show every Friday. The shows will be 3 matches each and I'm hoping we can use this time do see more segments and build up some new storylines.
The biggest reason this is happening is while I started off only mildly affected by the pandemic with work (I work in a restaurant and we went down to take out only) my hours worked didn't change. As of the end of next week my company has cut back usable hours even more, therefore, I'll be taking a LOA from work until we get the all clear to reopen or they change their mind. While this is going to cause a strain I'll at least be trying to file for unemployment (who knows when I'll get that though). So I'll be home a lot with despite playing a LOT of Animal Crossing and FF7R when it comes out, I'll have some free time and it'll be nice to have something to work on.
Again, I hope everyone is safe and healthy out there. I'd also ask for your positive thoughts as I do have an in-law that is in NYC and has been quarantined with what is believed to be the virus, or is at least very sick.
