Episode #35 - April 24, 2020
Scott Parker: Hello everyone and thank you for joining us tonight! Last week we had an incredible evening as Next Level: Revolution gave us a brand new World Champion. Lacy Nelson invoked her Victorem contract after the main event where Daniel Daemon defeated Brighton Fischer. We’ll hear from the new World Champion a little later tonight! Tonight we start the journey to Next Level: Victorem. We already know that we’ll see a return of the Victorem ladder match who it’s all about trying to earn a chance to compete in that big match.
Extreme Division Match
Enforcer Vs. Austin Scott
Scott Parker: I’ve heard that Austin Scott has been in a sour mood backstage since arriving today. He lost the Extreme Championship last week to Allen Chaney in a match where Allen was a last minute replacement for Josh Goldstein. Josh is going to be out of action as he recovers from an injury.
Enforcer started to make his way down to the ring to his music as he cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders.
Scott Parker: Enforcer had a nice showing last week in the battle royal in what was his first match here in Empire Wrestling.
Enforcer was about halfway down to the ring before Austin Scott attacked him from behind with a hard forearm.
Scott Parker: Scott with an attack from behind to get things going!
Scott pulled Enforcer up to his feet and sent him hard into the steel steps. Scott went looking under the ring and pulled out a kendo stick and a chair before tossing them into the ring. Scott grabbed Enforcer as he was starting to walk away and rolled him into the ring. Scott climbed into the ring and Enforcer caught Scott with a chop to the chest. Enforcer lifted Scott up and dropped him on the mat with a sidewalk slam. Scott climbed to his feet and hit a back elbow to the face of Enforcer. Scott grabbed the kendo stick and cracked it over the back and then the head! Scott pulled Enforcer in and was able to deliver a big double underhook powerbomb. He rolled Enforcer into a cover but got two as Enforcer kicked out.
Scott Parker: Not quite!
Enforcer powered to his feet and caught a charging Scott with a spinning spinebuster. Enforcer started to pull Scott up to his feet but Scott pushed him away and caught him with Straight Whiskey (Running lariat). Scott was fired up as Enforcer stumbled and fell into a seated position in the corner. This allowed Scott to turn and connect with the Goin' Muddin' (Opponent is seated in the corner, charges and connects with a running knee to the skull).
Scott Parker: That might be it, folks.
Scott pulled Enforcer up and set him up and delivered the Law and Order (Pumphandle Slam) onto the chair. He covered and picked up the win.
Scott Parker: And a nice win for Austin Scott here tonight but wait a second.
Scott rolled out of the ring after the win and “Year Zero” by Ghost started to play and out walked Daniel Daemon.
Emperor’s Sentencing
Scott Parker: Here comes the former World Champion Daniel Daemon. Although, he’s not scheduled to appear here tonight.
Daemon stood at the top of the ramp and allowed Scott to pass as he watched Enforcer taking him time in the ring. Daemon unbuttoned his suit jacket and started to make his way down at a steady pace and climbed into the ring. Enforcer stood across from Daemon before getting taken down with the Inquisition (POWERFUL running lariat)! Daemon watched Enforcer hit the mat and roll out of the ring.
Scott Parker: I don’t think Daemon was too pleased with how long it was taking Enforcer to get out of the ring.
Daemon reached out a hand as if to call for a microphone and someone slid in quickly and handed him one.
Daniel Daemon: Last week a con-artist stole something that belongs to me. I had my share of things to say to the new champion on Aftershock after Next Level. Tonight I am here to sentence another. A man that showed his true colors last week as he used his words to show me that as Emperor, he didn’t bow.
Daemon started to climb out of the ring and stood across the commentary table from Scott Parker.
Daniel Daemon: You, Scott Parker, showed me that you didn’t bow to your Emperor. You outwardly cheered on the con-artist known as Lacy Nelson. For that, you’ll be made into an example.
Daemon reached over the table and grabbed Parker by the tie and collar before pulling him over and tossed him to the ground. Parker tried to crawl away but was hit with a kick to the gut. Daemon rolled Parker into the ring and followed after him as Parker slowly crawled across the ring. Daemon pulled Parker up and lifted him onto his shoulder and walked him around the ring. Referees rushed the ring and told Daemon to put Parker down and he smirked before delivering the Twist of Cain (Jumping spinning tombstone piledriver)! Daemon stood over Parker as referees checked on him. Daemon climbed out to the apron and looked up to the stage as we cut away.
Restoration
Casey Grey: is in the locker room, lacing and tying her boots. She does a couple of hops and checks herself in the mirror. Apparently satisfied, she pulls on a hoodie and zips it up. She glances to the side when Alicia enters. Alicia leans against the counter and Casey looks back at the mirror.
Casey Grey:: I thought I smelled bitch outside.
Alicia crosses her arms.
Alicia Monroe:: Shut up. Tell me something, Casey. How long has she been planning this?
Casey looks at Alicia in the mirror and shrugs.
Casey Grey:: Years. I can only think of one, maybe two things that would have set her off. I don't know. It…wasn’t supposed to be you.
Alicia Monroe:: Who—
Casey Grey:: Not important anymore.
Casey looks at Alicia. She looks upset as tears start to fall.
Casey Grey:: You have no idea what this has done to me. I’m just so…ashamed.
Alicia Monroe:: Look, I hate you for what you did. It’s wrong, and I can’t stand people that I trust keeping secrets from me. But…I can…see why you did it. I don’t like it, but it’s not worth fighting with you. I’m letting it go this time, but seriously. No more secrets between us?
Casey nods.
Casey Grey:: Yeah. And, you know, I apologize.
Alicia Monroe:: You already did that.
Casey Grey:: Yeah, but I thought you’d take me more seriously if you weren’t kicking me in the head when I said it.
Alicia nods.
Alicia Monroe:: Yeah. I guess I would.
Alicia chuckles a bit.
Alicia Monroe:: Your face is a mess. Come on, I’ll help you before you have to go out there.
Replacement
We go ringside as we see Todd Evans, the ring announcer, sitting at the commentary booth. He adjusts the headset and gives a smile.
Todd Evans: Hello. As you may know my name is Todd Evans and I’m the ring announcer for Empire Wrestling but what you may not know is that I also used to sit behind this booth and call the action. I’ll be going on double duty after the actions of Daniel Daemon here tonight and we send our best wishes to Scott Parker as he seeks medical help. With that being said it’s time for our next bout of the evening!
Casey Grey: Vs. Karli Frost
Todd Evans: To say there is no love lost between these two would be an understatement. You also have to wonder, where are Fenryr and Rune? We know they’re here, but are absent from ringside. That has to be in the back of Casey’s mind as we get started here tonight.
Casey and Karli lock up, with Karli locking in a headlock that Casey escapes with a back suplex. Both are quick to their feet, but Casey is a bit faster and kicks Karli in the abdomen. Casey moves in immediately with a snap swinging neckbreaker and gains a quick upper hand in the match. Casey feeds off of the fans for a moment before turning back to Karli who is back on her feet. After another tie up Casey gets a twisting armbar in, but Karli is able to drop to a knee and get in a fireman’s carry takedown to escape. Casey jumps back up to press her attack but Karli hits a chop block and takes out Casey’s knee. Casey falls, holding her knee as Karli catches her breath. Casey drags herself across the mat towards a corner, but Karli does a basement dropkick and sends Casey to the floor. Karli follows, picks Casey up by the hair, and looks as if she’s going to throw Casey back into the ring but just whips her into the apron. Karli’s next move is to hit an implant buster on the floor before rolling Casey back into the ring. Karli followed on the referee’s count of eight, breaking the count before climbing to the top rope. Casey pulls herself up the ropes and turns around into a Hookup (flying neck breaker) from Karli. Karli covers, but Casey gets a foot on the rope at two.
Toss Evans: Karli nearly had Casey there but she’s able to stay in the match.
Karli drags Casey to the corner and climbs to the top again. She looks for a 450 splash but Casey gets her knees up. Karli rolls to the side and both are slow to get to their feet. Casey pulls herself up again and waits on Karli. When Karli gets to her feet Casey gets in a snapmare facebreaker. Karli is rocked, but standing. Casey hits the ropes but on the way back Karli gets her with a spinebuster. Karli spends a few moments taunting Casey before she lifts her up for a vertical suplex, but Casey quickly reverses it into a Torque Wrench (Kneeling Fujiwara Armbar) in the center of the ring. After a few seconds of trying to reach the ropes, Karli realizes her efforts are futile and taps out.
The bell does nothing to encourage Casey to release the hold, and if anything she cinches it in tighter. Karli screams, pounding the mat as the referee tries to pull Casey off of her. Rune steps out onto the stage.
Rune Sigidottir: Casey! Casey! Hey, what are you doing? Come on, this isn’t necessary, okay?
Casey releases Karli, finally. She stands up and limps over to the ropes, and watches Rune. Karli holds her shoulder in the corner as the referee checks on her.
Faultline
Rune Sigidottir: Casey, look, I think there is something you should know. You don’t trust me and that’s fine, and I’m glad to see you’ve matured in that respect. But I wanted to come out here and tell you that trust is overrated and it just ends up hurting you in the end.
Rune starts walking towards the ring.
Rune Sigidottir: Now, while I was busy wrecking your life, I did a reasonable amount of snooping. Despite the nature of our previous relationship and how I basically ruined you as a person, I wanted to tell you this because I think you need to know it.
Rune climbs up the steps and stands on the apron and Casey backs up a few steps. Karli rolls out of the ring and walks around it to stand on the floor behind Rune. Alicia Monroe: runs out of the back. Karli blocks her, but Alicia beats on her for a moment before Fenryr runs from the back and restrains Alicia.
Alicia Monroe:: Don’t listen to her, Casey! She’s a liar! You know it!
Karli slugs Alicia in the gut, knocking her to the ground.
Alicia Monroe:: Casey…
Rune Sigidottir: Casey, everyone lies. These fans lie, you lie, I damn sure lie, and—
Rune looks over her shoulder where Alicia is trying to get back to her feet. Fenryr kicks her over again.
Rune Sigidottir: Alicia lies. Casey, she’s been lying to you for years. Everyone has. The fact is, Casey, that Alicia isn’t your cousin. She’s your sister.
Alicia pulls herself to her knees and reaches for Rune.
Alicia Monroe:: Bitch!
Karli grabs Alicia and sends her into the ring steps.
Casey Grey:: You expect me to believe you? After everything you did? You’re so full of shit it’s all the way up in your eyes.
Rune Sigidottir: Nope. But you know as well as I do that all it takes for Alicia to open her mouth is a few shots. Jim Beam, if I recall correctly. That’s her favorite, right? She told me everything about you and her. And your mother. See, mommy didn’t want a child at the time but she ended up pregnant anyway. Your mom, your aunt I mean, convinced her to have you even though your real mom, your aunt as you know her, wanted to…end it. She said that she would adopt you if only your mom, Tracey, didn’t kill you in…
Casey charges at Rune and smashes her face with a Breath Mint (forearm smash). Rune flies to the floor as Karli and Fenryr climb up the apron towards Casey.
Rune Sigidottir: No! Hey, you two! Get down.
Alicia rushes Rune, and manages to get a few shots in before Fenryr pulls her off. Casey grabs Alicia from behind and pulls her back as Ragnarok backs up the ramp and through the curtain. Alicia is furious.
Alicia Monroe:: I’ll kill you, you bitch! You wait! I’ll find you and when I do you’re dead! Let me go! I want her blood!
Alicia flails wildly, striking Casey in the face with an elbow and then runs to the back. Casey checks for blood and follows her, slowly, through the curtain.
Todd Evans: I don’t know what to say. This just keeps getting deeper and deeper for Ragnarok, Casey Grey, and Alicia Monroe.
Rise of a New Empire
“Come and Get It” by I Prevail started to play as the new Empire Wrestling World Champion walked out onto the stage. Lacy Nelson walked out with a big smile on her face and the World Championship on her shoulder. She held it up high in the middle of the stage and dropped it back to her shoulder as she started to make her way down the ramp.
Todd Evans: Ladies and gentlemen, the NEW Empire Wrestling World Champion…. LACY NELSON!
Nelson rolled into the ring and jumped up to her feet and then to the second rope as she looked into the camera and started to pat the faceplace of the title. She jumped down to the mat as she fixed her leather jacket and was handed the microphone.
Lacy Nelson: This is all still so surreal to me. I wish that I could share this moment with everyone in the Empire Wrestling Kingdom but with the state of the world right now I have to be content with all the tweets and videos I’ve been sent with the excited fans. Once this is all over and we can get back to normal and fill these seats with fans, I promise you a celebration fit for an Emperor.
Lacy gave a big smile and a wink to the camera as she kept going.
Lacy Nelson: Daniel may call me a con-artist, Chelsea Pryce might call me a thief, I call myself an opportunist. I saw Danny down on the mat after what Zoey Mathews-Mitchell and her gang did and I had to jump on it. I would’ve been an idiot not to try my hand right then and there. I was on my way out the door before Daemon walked in and something just told me to hang out and wait.
After a slow spin while holding out the championship she planted her feet and looked up to the camera again.
Lacy Nelson: And then I overthrew a tyrant. A man that didn’t deserve to sit atop the throne that is Empire Wrestling and call himself the World Champion. I know that I now have the biggest target on my back and I’m okay with that. I wrote the headline and I will continue to be THE headline.
She dropped the microphone as her music hit and she rolled out of the ring and left to the back.
Kaito Hirano Vs. Zoey Mathews-Mitchell
Hirano was out first and quickly got into the ring and started to throw strikes and kicks as he stretched. Smoke pours across the entrance area as “To Be Free” begins to play.
“Don’t come looking for me
I don’t wanna be found
I just wanna be free
So don’t come looking for me
I don’t wanna be found
I just wanna run away and learn to be free”
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell makes her way from the back, twirling a kendo stick. She’s dressed in her ring gear, a black hooded vest, and a black neoprene mask over her mouth with Zoey written across it in a pink kind of scratchy font. She stands still and raises the kendo stick high, then makes her way down the aisle, where she rests the kendo stick on her shoulder.
Todd Evans: It’s been a little over 9 months since we’ve seen Zoey Mathews-Mitchell in Empire Wrestling. The last time we saw her? The main event of Next Level: Victorem where Daniel Daemon used her as a message to the locker room after defeating her. She returned the favor last week as she, Bailey Mayhew, and Caitlin Shay would not allow him to do the same thing to Brighton Fischer.
Zo makes her way to the side of the ring and climbs the apron. She faces the empty crowd where the camera is set and raises her kendo stick once more. Zo steps through the ropes and twirls her kendo stick again as she moves to a corner. She hits the top rope with the kendo stick a few times, before setting it under the turnbuckles. She pulls her hood down and removes her vest, followed by removing the neoprene mask. “To Be Free” fades out.
Zo and Hirano started to circle each other and he threw a hard kick at her legs that caught. She shook it off and smirked. Hirano looked for a kick aimed at her head but she blocked it with her forearms and pushed it away. Zo caught Hirano with an uppercut that she went right into a jawbreaker after. Hirano staggered before getting sent into the ropes. Zo dropped down and he jumped over as she popped back up. He hit the ropes again and she took him down with an arm drag. Hirano rolled to his feet and Zo hit him with a Russian leg sweep. She was fired up as she jumped back to her feet and pulled Hirano up. Hirano looked for a roundhouse kick but Zo ducked it and then hit him with the Combustion Kick (Wind-Up Overhead Kick). She rolled up to her feet and Hirano started to stand and she drove him to the mat with a running blockbuster! She rolled him into a cover but Hirano was able to kick out.
Todd Evans: Zoey is looking like she hasn’t missed a step.
Hirano climbed to his feet and ducked a clothesline and delivered the blue thunder bomb. He covered but just barely got two as Zo kicked out. He rolled to his feet and looked for a running shooting star press but Zo rolled out of the way. Both competitors got to their feet and Zo looked for a northern lights suplex but Hirano spun away and delivered a tornado kick! Hirano yelled “Oyasumi”, telling Zo “goodnight”. He lifted her up as he looked for the Oyasumi [Goodnight] (Fireman's Carry Overhead Kick) but Zo slipped down to her feet. She hit the ropes and caught him with a shotgun kick! Hirano stumbled up to his feet and Zo grabbed him and delivered the Z4 (Spanish Fly) and covered, picking up the win!
Todd Evans: And Zoey with the win in her return match here in Empire Wrestling!
Zoey rolled to the apron and sat on it as she moved her hair out of her face with a smile and then made her way to the back.
EMBLEM [Macbeth/Cherry/Carbine] Vs. Luke Mathews/Dave Blazenwing/Outlaw
Todd Evans: It’s time for the main event of the evening and it should be combustible!
Mathews made his way to the ring first in his Mr LFG shift, available now in the EWShop, and climbed into the ring. He tossed the shirt as Blazenwing made his way out next. Blazenwing had a long trench coat that he opened on his way to the ring and took off as he entered. Outlaw was third and took a knee at the top of the ramp.
Todd Evans: Mathews and Blazenwing were so close to winning the Tag Team Championships last week at Next Level: Revolution.
We got a clip shown of Mathews having the Luke Lock on Cherry as he was about to tap and Carbine jumped into the ring and attacked with a chair.
Todd Evans: You have to believe that Outlaw is feeling a little less confident as he tapped out to Macbeth. Tonight all three of these men will look to settle a score with EMBLEM.
EMBLEM stepped out from the curtain with Ben Macbeth leading, his Primetime Championship around his waist. Cherry and Carbine were just a step behind and they also had their Tag Team Championships around their waists. All three removed the belts and held them up at the same time. They slowly made their way to the ring and started to circle. They jumped up to the apron and then back down.
Todd Evans: Macbeth and Midnight Special trying to show they are in charge.
Outlaw charged at the ropes and went up and over with a tope suicida, taking out all three members of EMBLEM! Mathews and Blazenwing rolled out of the ring and pulled Midnight Special into the ring as Outlaw started to stand. Macbeth was up and was going blow for blow with Outlaw as they rolled into the ring. Cherry hit a running knee to the gut of Blazenwing. Mathews hit Carbine with a snap dragon suplex. Macbeth pulled Outlaw in and delivered a capture suplex.
Todd Evans: The match HAS started but the referee can’t get things under control.
Mathews charged Macbeth but he ducked the right hand and hit him with the String Theory (Rolling German Suplex) as Cherry hit Blazenwing with a falcon arrow. Outlaw grabbed Cherry and hit him with an Asai DDT. Macbeth turned charged at Outlaw but was hit with the Lock-up (Black hole slam)! Macbeth rolled out of the ring as Outlaw tried to grab him but couldn’t get him. He turned and Cherry and Carbine hit Outlaw with the Minutes to Midnight (Slingblade [Cherry] / Backside Spear [Carbin])! Cherry turned and was rocked with the Full Effect (Sweet Chin Music) from Blazenwing! Carbine turned to Blazenwing but was hit with the NFG [No Fucks Given] (Yakuza Kick to the BACK of the head)! The referee had seen enough and called for the bell.
Todd Evans: The referee is just throwing this match out as these six men can not be contained!
They started to fight all around the ring as two more referees came out to try and break things up. They all rolled back into the ring and two more referees ran out to try and keep the peace. EMBLEM held up their championships as everyone turned to the ramp as a guitar riff kicks up and "Shitlist" by L7 took over the sound system. Out walk Zoey Mathews-Mitchell, Caitlin Shay, Bailey Mayhew, and Brighton Fischer. Each member is donned in a neoprene mouth mask - Zoey’s has “ZOEY” written on it in a grungy pink font, Caitlin’s has “The Greatest Ever. Of All Time.”, Bailey's has a pride flag on it, and Brighton’s has a grizzly bear and red star, reminiscent of the California state flag. Each member is wearing a t-shirt and an arm band, both of which read "THE GRRRLS". They stand near the entrance for a moment. Zoey is the first to take a step forward, wielding a microphone in one hand and her trusty kendo stick with the other. She pulls down her mask to speak, and slightly twirls her kendo stick.
The Shitlist
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: We got some questions to answer, don't we girls? Let's start with an introduction for anyone new out there. I'm Zoey Mathews-Mitchell, multi-time women's and tag team champion, and the longest tenured veteran of the four us. To my right is another veteran and former women's champion, the great Caitlin Shay. To her right, well, you should all know Bailey Mayhew, this place is essentially her home. Bailey's been on the rise for a few years and it's a matter of time before she reaches the heights of Caitlin and myself. And on my left, of course, Brighton Fischer. The rookie taking EW by storm and already finding herself in World Title contention.
At this point, the group enter the ring. Zoey playfully taps Luke Mathews on his shoulder with her kendo stick as she walks by him. EMBLEM has backed into one corner while Outlaw, Mathews, and Blazenwing are in the opposite corner. The “GRRRLS” now standing in the middle of the ring.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: So why'd we attack Daniel Daemon? Daniel Daemon defeated Brighton Fischer. We can accept that. What we're not going to accept is him doing whatever he wants because he thinks he's unstoppable. You mess with Brighton, you mess with all of us. You mess with Bailey, you mess with all of us. You mess with Caitlin, you mess with all of us. You mess with me, you mess with all of us. So what other than that brings the four of us together? You'll realize that we have our own unique personalities, hell, Bailey and Caitlin are essentially polar opposites. It's fitting that we came together on a show called Revolution, because that's what this is. Despite our backgrounds we all have one core goal. We're the ones who are going to run this place. Not you...
She points her kendo stick at EMBLEM.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: Not you...
She points it at Luke, David, and Outlaw.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: And certainly not Daniel Daemon. Those right there...
She points the kendo stick at the EW Tag Team Championships.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: We'll take those.
She points the stick right at Luke Mathews.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: Even if we have to go through you first.
Luke gives a slight smirk.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: EW Primetime Championship? We'll take that. EW Extreme Championship?
She slams the kendo stick on the mat.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: We'll take that. Oh, by the way, we have no affiliation with Lacy Nelson, at least not at the moment. Lacy Nelson simply seized an opportunity that anyone else would have. So on the matter of the EW World Championship? We'll take that. I know we already have one enemy in Daniel Daemon, so if anyone else takes issue with what we're about...
Zoey uses her kendo stick to outline a pentagon on the canvas, then taps it with the stick.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell: Step up to the plate.
The quick guitar of “Year Zero” by Ghost started to play as everyone turned to the stage.
Todd Evans: You don’t think Daniel Daemon is going to answer that challenge right now, do you?
Daniel Daemon slowly stepped out from the curtain with his suit jacket over his shoulders. He spun the jacket and put it on as he stepped to the top of the ramp as his music played. He put his hands out and the lights started to flicker red and black as two men stepped to flank his sides. The duo wore skull masks and each tilted their head as Daemon laughed. His voice bellowed as we ended the show in a massive staredown between all parties!

Scott grabbed the kendo stick and cracked it over the back and then the head! Scott pulled Enforcer in and was able to deliver a big double underhook powerbomb. He rolled Enforcer into a cover but got two as Enforcer kicked out.

Alicia Monroe:: Casey…
Alicia Monroe:: Bitch!
