Dark Match: Before the show, Aaron Kincade and Ruby Winters squared off in what was her first match in Empire Wrestling. The two locked up early and exchanged some holds and arm drags. Kincade hit a picture perfect scissors kick to the back of Winters and looked to cover but she kicked out. Winters started to battle back and even hit her Beauty Pop but Kincade was able to kick out. Winters looked to end the match with the Canadian Kiss but Kincade countered into a small package and picked up a sneaky win. WINNER: Aaron Kincade
Dark Match: Also before the show, The Haters took on Harper Blake and Kayla Taylor in a Warfare Series match. Salvatore looked solid in the ring as he used his power against Taylor and Blake. Blake started to battle back in the match with her quick strikes and hit Salvatore with a big knee to the head. DeLuca thought he had the match won after a surprise tag and sneaking in with a school boy but Blake kicked out. Taylor made a tag and Blake started to fight on the outside with Salvatore. The referee turned his attention to them as AJ Jenkynx ran out and tripped DeLuca which allowed Taylor to hit Broadway Lights and pick up a win. WINNERS: Harper Blake and Kayla Taylor
After the match Jenkynx stood on the stage laughing at DeLuca who was livid in the ring as Salvatore held him back.
Scott Parker: Welcome to a special Monday night edition of Hype! What a night we have in store for you, folks, that features TWO championship matches. Can Zoey Mathews-Mitchell successfully defend against four other competitors? Can Bailey Mayhew knock off Lacy Nelson?
Gemma Foster: It’s an exciting night, Scott! Plus, there’s so much other action here tonight. More Warfare Series, FM and Casey Grey, it’s eight total matches!
Scott Parker: We’ve also confirmed over the weekend that FM Young will be invoking her Victorem Contract in two weeks at Warfare. She’ll challenge Lacy Nelson, that is, if Lacy can get through Bailey Mayhew here tonight.
Gemma Foster: Bailey will look to do what her fellow Grrrls member, Brighton Fischer, couldn’t do a couple weeks ago.
Scott Parker: We’re going to get the night started with some Warfare Series action, but first, let’s look at the current standings.
Scott Parker: As you can see, the Grrrls are sitting in first place right now. Followed by the current Tag Team Champions the Old Guard, then the Kingsmen, and then EMBLEM. Five and six are currently Dishonor and the teaming of Kayla Taylor and Harper Blake. Only the top six teams will go onto the Elimination Chamber match at Warfare where the winners will receive 15 bonus points. These final couple matches will be very important.
Gemma Foster: Remember, Scott, they’re fighting for more than just that trophy. The winning squad will get a championship opportunity.
Warfare Series
The Crew (Josh & Jack Williams) Vs. Dishonor (Kaito Hirano & Jason Evans)
Jack and Josh Williams jogged out first and struck a pose on the stage. The two turned to face each other and started to hype each other up with a few pushes. They made their way to the ring and jumped inside.
Scott Parker: The Crew aren’t looking good in the Warfare standings. It’ll take a miracle for them to win this thing.
“Time Bomb” by Hollywood Undead started to play and out walked Jason Evans. He used his thumb to slice his throat and drop to a knee. Kaito Hirano walked out behind him and put his arms out as he stood behind Evans. The two started to make their way to the ring and climbed inside. Hirano charged at Jack and hit him with a big shotgun kick!
Scott Parker: Dishonor not wanting to wait to get this thing going!
Josh turned to Evans and hit him with a forearm to the face. Evans came right back with a back elbow to the face and then a step up enziguri. Josh staggered backwards and was driven to the mat with a blue thunder bomb by Hirano. Jack came flying off the top rope and hit Hirano with a cross body. Jack got to his feet and was immediately taken down with a sling blade by Evans. Evans popped up and jumped to the top rope. He measured up Josh who was back to his feet and hit him with a meteora and rolled forward to his feet. Jack was there and Evans hit him with the Flatliner (Cutter)!
Gemma Foster: Jason Evans is all over the ring.
Hirano readied himself and hit Josh with the Yoi Yume O [Sweet Dreams] (Running Knee to knelt opponent). Hirano motioned at Evans and said something in Japanese.
Scott Parker: The referee with a lot of leniency in this match and it’s allowing Dishonor to just tear through the Crew.
Hirano pulled Jack to his feet as Evans started to climb back to the top rope. Hirano hit Jack with Dishonored (Burning Hammer GTS) and Evans jumped off the top rope and hit Josh with the Overdrive (630 Splash). They both covered and picked up a double pinfall.
Scott Parker: This is a huge win for Dishonor as it’ll give them 14 points and pretty much assures them a spot in the elimination chamber match.
Hirano and Evans stood in the ring over the Crew as we cut away.
Quémalos a todos
Fade in with the camera and the focus is immediately on a simply made altar with flowers, rosary beads, candles and photographs. To be specific, there’s five photographs; still shots of four of the individuals participating in the Fatal 5 Way: AJ Jenkynx, Ursula Von Rossbach, Mary Mallon, and defending champion Zoey Matthews. Each picture has a candle burning in front of it, casting an eerie glow across the entirety of the shrine. With the way the camera’s angled, a figure becomes partially visible as they step and kneel in front of the altar without obscuring the view of the photos themselves. A woman’s slender hands, nails painted black, come up in a prayer position. Her arms are covered in black, lacey sleeves and as the camera slowly starts to circle around behind her, it becomes more clear she’s garbed entirely in black funeral attire. An assortment of red and black roses adorn her black hair that hangs like a curtain of silk around and behind her head. As she speaks, the camera continues it’s slow crawl around her. Her words are in Spanish but we are given subtitles so that her message becomes clear to everyone watching.
Tia Santos: It can become terribly lonesome in the land of the dead. The souls of those who have left this world vye for any sense of companionship they can find. Even now, as we sit here, there are those who are crossing over into the other realm. Men. Women. Children. The Gods grow restless, however. As the river of souls grows ever more, it has been ages since those that watch over the living have received such an offering. They require blood. They require souls. They shall be offered both in a sufficient amount, on this night.
By now, the camera has reached Tia’s other side, where her hand reaches out and picks up the photograph of AJ Jenkynx.
Tia Santos: AJ Jenkynx. The Sinner. How proud you seem to live such a life of evil and debauchery. Some may say that we share similarities in our goals to aid those who have reached their end crossover. They would be wrong. You are suffering. That much is clear, and you seek to make others suffer as you have. You have the resiliency of a fighter, yet you still feel the need to howl as the Hounds of Hell do when spreading your aimless carnage. You are a demon who must be banished back to the pit from whence you came. The Gods will enjoy your soul as they tear it apart as penance for your boastful sins.
She dips the corner of AJ’s photo into the candle and drops it into the little bronze bowl in the center as it burns. She picks up the snuffer and puts out the candle as well before setting that down and picking up the picture of Ursula Von Rossbach.
Tia Santos: Señorita Von Rossbach. Throughout my years, before my journey began, I have paid close attention to your work. Unlike most fools, I am aware of the caution that must be taken when standing across from you. You are a force of nature in the body of a woman that has stared La Calavera Catrina in the eyes twice before and told her…”Not today.” While they have made you stronger, the lady always ends up claiming what she seeks. Your soul is among her most sought out possessions. So to, on the night of the sacrifice, I will deliver yours personally.
Again, she dips the photo of Ursula into the flame of the appropriate candle and drops it in the bowl. She snuffs out that candle and moves onto the next photo, picking it up.
Tia Santos: Señorita Mallon. Mary. You have been almost as vocal if not more than The Sinner. Those above us see something in you that it appears no one else does. Perhaps we will see it tonight. Perhaps now. You intrigue me, Señorita. Tell me, what is it that drives you to hate everything so? To hate even yourself. Is it the way the world has treated you so? Is it the blind misconceptions of your outward appearance? While understandably troublesome, you are letting your hate grow. Hate eventually begins to fester, when we let it get out of control. We grow reckless, as you have already shown to be. Hate is a sickness. A plague. Hate is a disease and you have let your hate for everything and everyone, even yourself, consume you so much that you have become the embodiment of hate. You have become just what you claim yourself to be, Señorita Mallon. You are a plague upon this realm that will only throw things out of balance and I...will be the cure.
Like clockwork, the picture of Mary Mallon is set aflame and dropped into the bowl before the candle is extinguished. Last but not least, her hand picks up the final photograph. That of the defending Extreme Champion, Zoey Matthews. As she begins speaking again, the camera slowly raises and turns, circling around slowly. We see, from the front, that Tia is indeed in full Dia de los Muertos funeral attire, including the detailed painting of a Calavera skull design on her face.
Tia Santos: And now we come to you. Señora Matthews-Mitchell. Decorated champion. Defending Extreme Champion - the prize of gold that we are all vying to take from you; the housewife whose brother sinks their family company into the ground on an annual basis. They say you have the most experience out of all of us in this match. I am not sure of the validity of that statement. The one known as The Terminator has seen the insides and outs of multiple companies. She has held multiple championships. Alas, you are nothing to dismiss. You have the tenure, indeed. What you also have, is the disadvantage of your challengers being able to go back through the archives and study your every move. What makes you tick. Your physical weaknesses. Your blind spots, if you will, Señora. The same can even be said about the others who have already seen a handful of contests. I, on the other hand, have seen but one. Tell me, is that enough to gather what you are up against when darkness descends upon the ruins of your empire?
That skull painted face forms a smile as she dips the photograph of Zoey Matthews-Mitchell into the flame of the final candle and sets the burning paper into the bowl. Tia delicately picks up that last burning candle in front of her.
Tia Santos: The truth is, Señora, that you have only ever seen true success in your brother’s own company. I believe they call that “nepotism” in some places. Meanwhile, today, you are little more than the lesser string of a middle aged murder of old crows. There have been numerous empires that have risen and fallen throughout the existence of man. Some reigned for centuries. Others, like yours, exist for only but a blink in history. It is time, Señora, for your Extreme Empire to fall and it is time for mine...to rise.
In the softest, most elegant manner, Tia blows out the candle, leaving us in darkness….
Angel Kash Vs. Austin Scott
Scott Parker: Well, Gemma, let’s see if we can’t finally see the debut of Angel Kash.
Scott made his way out to the ring first and tossed his cowboy hat out to the empty seats. He runs the ropes as he awaits Kash’s entrance. Her music hits and she slowly steps out as the spotlight shines down on her. She turns around in a circle and smiles.
Gemma Foster: Seems acceptable so far, Scott.
She starts to make her way down to the ring and as the ring announcer starts to introduce her. Roberts hits all the notes, “Trillion Dollar Princess”, “making her anticipated debut”, Kash finally steps into the ring as the lights flash bright and glow. Kash steps into the center of the ring as Scott goes to lock up with her and she quickly backs into the corner and shouts at the referee she’s not ready.
Scott Parker: Kash still getting set in the ring, Scott.
Austin Scott walked up to the referee and said something to him as Kash snuck up behind him and rolled him up with a school boy for a two count!
Gemma Foster: Angel Kash trying to sneak out a win there.
Scott popped up to his feet and rocked Kash with Straight Whiskey (Running lariat). Scott stomped on Kash twice before dropping into a cover and she kicked out just after two. He pulled her up to her feet by her hair and she slapped him across the face. She then raked him across the eyes as the referee shouted at her, giving her a warning. She turned and drove a knee into the gut of Scott and then hit the ropes. She was grabbed on her return and slammed with a powerslam. Scott climbed to the second rope and looked for a leg drop but Kash rolled out of the way. She hit the ropes and kicked him in the side of the head with a running boot. Kash tried to cover Scott and he kicked out at two once again. Kash looked a bit frustrated as she shouted at the referee to count. Scott climbed to his feet, near the ropes, and she charged and he dropped as she went over the top and landed on the apron. Scott lifted her up and suplexed her back into the ring. Scott rolled Kash over and tried to lock in the Lock 'em Up (Rings of Saturn) but she was able to slip free and get to the ropes.
Scott Parker: Close one there for Angel Kash.
Scott tried to pull her away from the ropes but she kicked him in the jaw and he backed up. Kash rolled Scott up with another school boy pin and picked up the victory!
Kash quickly slipped out of the ring and yelled at the referee to come raise her hand as Scott looked around confused.
Gemma Foster: It might not have been pretty but Angel Kash picks up a win in her Empire Wrestling debut.
Warfare Series
The Grrrls (Brighton Fischer & Caitlin Shay) Vs. The Kingsmen (Junji Buranku & Mr. Fixit)
Fischer and Shay stepped out to the stage first, wearing their neoprene masks. The duo tossed down their masks at the top of the ramp and started to make their way down.
Scott Parker: This is a big match for these two teams tonight as the first place Grrrls are taking on the Kingsmen in a match that could flip the standings. A pinfall win for the Kingsmen would put them 1 point ahead of the Grrrls.
Fischer and Shay moved around the ring as the lights turned red and out walked the Kingsmen. Fixit lead the way, a few steps ahead of Junji. Junji slipped in front and removed his demon mask and took a knee. He made his way down to the ring with Fixit not far behind. The two circled the ring and jumped onto the apron on opposite sides and climbed into the ring. The two teams quickly came to blows in the middle of the ring as the referee tried to get things under control. Fixit tossed Fischer out of the ring and turned to Shay and Junji who were exchanging punches in the corner. Fixit charged and Junji moved, allowing Fixit to hit a big corner splash on Shay. He tossed her out of the corner with a big hip toss as Fischer climbed back inside the ring. Fischer hit Junji with a spinning back kick to the gut before hitting him with a DDT. Fixit was there on Fischer as she started to stand and hit her with hard, calculated jabs. He started to lift her up for a gorilla press slam but Fischer countered into DDT. Fischer popped up to her feet and ducked Junji coming in and spun him around with a ripcord knee strike. She looked for a bicycle knee strike but he was able to block it. Junji jumped up and took Fischer down with a headscissors.
Scott Parker: Well scouted there by Junji as Brighton was looking for that knee.
Junji got to his feet and went to his corner and made a tag to Fixit. Shay clapped on for Fischer who was nearby. Fischer made a tag and Shay jumped into the ring. She charged at Fixit who looked for a clothesline but she ducked it. He turned and she rocked him with a pele kick. Shay got up and hit the ropes as Fixit started to stand and she hit him with a dropkick that sent him into the corner. Shay made a tag to Fischer. Shay charged and hit Fixit with a corner splash and moved out of the way. Fischer charged and ran into a big boot from Fixit. Fixit hit the ropes and Junji tagged himself in and Fixit hit a big shoulder tackle to Shay.
Gemma Foster: Back and forth so far, Scott.
Junji and Fischer met in the middle of the ring and she hit him with a spinning back elbow to the side of the head. She looked for her cutter but was pushed away and into the ropes. Junji met her with a basement dropkick to the knee that sent her hard onto the mat. She started to get to her feet and he hit the Deceptive Sorcerer (Junji sets up for a Shining Wizard but hops over the opponent right before hitting them and nails a back kick to the back of their head). Junji covered and got a two count as Shay was able to break it up.
Scott Parker: Here comes Fixit!
Fixit climbed into the ring and grabbed Shay as the referee tried to get the two of them out of the ring. Shay was hitting Fixit with quick strikes to the face with her forearms as he backed her into a corner. Junji rolled Fischer up in a small package but the referee was dealing with Fixit and Shay. Junji broke the hold after a second and got to his feet. Shay tackled Fixit over the top ropes and they both fell to the outside. Junji turned to Fischer who was there with her bicycle knee strike. She grabbed the legs of Junji and flipped over, forming a bridge, and picked up a win as he was just unable to kick out in time.
Scott Parker: Wait, did Junji kick out!?
The Kingsmen were in the ring as Fischer and Shay met up outside the ring. The referee insisted that it was three before Fixit blasted him with the Fixed (Haymaker).
Gemma Foster: Come on!
Scott Parker: That’s about as close as you can get, Gemma. Even I don’t know if that was three or not but it’s RIGHT there.
Take the pledge
A New Face
A black banner with a ghoulish smiling green skull and a pair of hatchets adorns the wall behind the Ginger Ninja, Molly Hatchet. We find her dressed in her Monday wrestling best of black and green PVC pants adorned with celtic designs and Japanese Kanji that spells “GINGER NINJA” with a matching sports top, hooded vest, and boots. Her hands and wrists are wrapped in black tape. With red hair framing a freckled face, the tattooed Scotswoman addresses the camera before her.
Molly: So tonight I face Marilyn Lee Cross, a fighter at heart with grand potential and a strong spirit. A decorated champion across many promotions all thanks to her teachings at the Limitless Dojo, which she was the first graduate of, no less! Quite tha’ honor, indeed.
The Ginger Ninja gives a sagely nod.
Molly: Ms. Cross, ye’ve got tha’ tools, tha’ talent, and from what I’ve seen of yer past matches, with victories against talent such as Harper Blake, Kayla Taylor, Outlaw, and Austin Scott, I’d say yer record speaks fer itself. I cannae’ take ye’ lightly at all, but eventually we all meet our match, that one wrestler that proves too big fer them ta’ take on.
She suddenly points her finger at the camera, a look of intensity blazing in her wide, dark colored eyes.
Molly: MARILYN CROSS! I am that match! I am eager, hungry, and filled with fire burnin’ ta’ make me name mean somethin’ in this world! I’ve got a decade of triumphs and defeats, hard fought battles, life lessons, and pain behind me! Yer impressive lass! Ye’ve got me sweatin’ just a bit, but that’s where I bloody well THRIVE!!! When tha’ chips are down, Tha’ Ginger Ninja stands tall with her fist in the air o’er tha’ fallen, claiming victory when others say she ought not be havin’ it!
As she speaks, she gets more and more worked up, her hands animated with gesticulation, gaze unblinking as she unloads her passion through word.
Molly: Yer not tha’ one with tha’ burden ta’ prove meself and prove I shall by steppin’ into that ring, lookin’ ye’ square in yer sparklin’ pink shadowed eyes, and givin’ ye’ all I’ve got! Me goal be simple, deliver ye’ to tha’ canvas and hold ye’ down one *CLAP!* two *CLAP!* three *CLAP!!!* or put ye’ in a Hurt Locker so tight that ye’ tap out screamin’ mercy lord above!!!
She leans forward, hands held before her chest in up-turned, claw-like fashion.
Molly: The fans will be screamin’ while me hand be held aloft as the announcers sing me name and praise fer a hard fought battle against a most worthy opponent.
Slowly she calms down, regaining control of herself as she lowers those hands down to her sides.
Molly: I have e’ery intention of turnin’ that bit of verbal wishful thinkin’ into a self-fullfillin’ prophecy, Ms. Cross. Yer good, damn good, maybe even tha’ best I’ve faced in recent memory, but are ye’ better than a Ginger Ninja with the weight of the world on her shoulders and divine purpose behind her? Let’s find out!
Molly turns and walks right into a rather impressive chest and muscular body of one Ursula Von Rossbach. She hops back, fists up and ready to fight. There is zero fear in her eyes.
Molly: YE’ WANT IT NOW? VON ROSSBACH?! LET’S DO THIS!!!
The Lady Terminator holds a hand up and shakes her head.
UVR: I came by to wish you luck, Ms. Hatchet… If I wanted a fight, you would already be bleeding at my feet. Remember, it shall be on my time….
She then leans forward.
UVR: ….and my terms.
She then gives the Ginger Ninja an unnerving grin as she steps around her old rival, Molly keeping her eyes on her as she walks by. With a nod, the Ginger Ninja finally disappears off frame shortly after Ursula Von Rossbach does the same. Cut to ringside….
Karli Frost Vs. Marilyn Lee Cross Vs. Molly Hatchet
Frost was out first, solo, and definitely seemed a bit frustrated.
Scott Parker: It’s been a weird couple months to Ragnarok, to say the least. Their involvement in everything Casey Grey and Alicia Monroe, to this voodoo stuff with them, Karli missing some time in her head, I don’t know what to think.
Gemma Foster: Karli is going to have to push through all of that if she wants to pick up a win tonight, Scott.
Cross came bounding out to the stage next as she adjusted her knee pads and jumped up and down to warm up before heading to the ring.
Gemma Foster: Marilyn Lee Cross has been fairly quiet in her time so far in Empire Wrestling but she’s looked impressive inside the ring.
She circled the ring as the music changed over and Molly Hatchet made her debut to the stage. She smiled as she moved around the stage, taking it in. She stopped midway down the ramp and looked around the Warehouse.
Scott Parker: Molly Hatchet has come to Empire Wrestling with one thing in mind; beat Ursula Von Rossbach in a singles match. It sounds like that’s what is driving her right now.
Gemma Foster: Well, yeah. Generally when someone almost leaves you almost paralyzed you want a little revenge.
Hatchet was now in the ring as all three ladies moved around the ring. Frost stepped to Hatchet but turned to Cross and hit her with a hard forearm to the face. Hatchet ran over but ran into a back elbow to the face from Frost. Frost drove a knee into the gut of Hatchet before hitting her with a facebuster.
Scott Parker: Do you think that Karli is a little salty that she didn’t even get a mention in the promo that Molly Hatchet just cut?
Frost kicked Hatchet out of the ring and turned to Cross. The two circled each other and locked up. Cross tried to push Frost into the corner but Frost overpowered her and pushed back and got her into the ropes. Frost looked for a bulldog out of the corner but was pushed away and ran right into Hatchet who hit her with a Whiskey Bomb (Superwoman Punch). Hatchet was fired up but was quickly hit with Cross’ Catch Your Breath (Striking Spear). Cross looked for a cover on Hatchet but just barely got two. Hatchet quickly got to her feet and looked for a lariat but Cross ducked it and hit her with a superkick to the knee. Hatchet fell to a knee and Cross hit a running blockbuster and rolled right to her feet. She hit the ropes and looked for a shining wizard but Hatchet was able to duck and roll out of the ring.
Scott Parker: Well even match here so far.
Frost was there to meet Cross and locked in a sleeper hold. Cross started to get free so Frost hit her with a sleeper slam. Frost covered with her forearm across the face of Cross and Cross kicked out at two. Hatchet was back in the ring and pushed Frost into the ropes and flipped her over with a hip toss. Frost started to stand and was hit with a jumping neckbreaker from Hatchet. Hatchet started to climb to the top rope but was stopped by Cross as she met her on the turnbuckle. Cross hit Hatchet with a big headbutt and lifted her up.
Gemma Foster: What does Marilyn have in mind?
Scott Parker: Whatever it is, it doesn’t look good!
Cross had Hatchet in position and jumped off the top with a top rope version of her Button Down (Big Bang Theory)! They crashed to the mat and Cross covered as Parker and Foster couldn’t believe it. Cross got a two as Frost was able to break it up in time. Frost tried to cover Hatchet but Cross pulled her off at one. Frost got to her feet and blasted Cross with a hard right forearm to the face. Cross fell into the ropes and came back with the Mary Go Round (Discus Big Boot). Cross covered Frost and Frost kicked out at two.
Scott Parker: So close! That’s two really close falls for Cross!
Frost started to stand and Cross hit the ropes as she wanted to hit her John Wilkes Boot (Running Yakuza Kick to the back of the head) but Hatchet was there with a Whiskey Bomb! Cross hit the mat and rolled to her feet and Hatchet hit her with a Ginger Snap (German Suplex) and Cross was sent rolling out of the ring. Frost came flying off the top as she looked for AMRAAM (Missile Dropkick) but Hatchet moved out of the way at the last moment. She locked Frost into the Hurt Locker (Omoplata) and Frost tapped out before Cross could get there!
Hatchet rolled off Frost and to her feet as she was clearly excited to pull off the win in her debut. Cross was halfway in the ring and her feet dangled on the outside as she pushed herself out of the ring, giving Hatchet the moment.
Gemma Foster: That match could’ve gone a lot of ways but it’s Molly Hatchet picking up a big win in her debut.
Vanguard of Distruction
“A witch of Aztec descent, a plague bearer, a sinner, and a silent champion step into my domain….” She began from the confines of darkness. With a click, a light shines down upon her, illuminating her through wispy, clouds of light fog. In the empty void she stands, Ursula Von Rossbach, head down, leaned forward with every muscle seemingly relaxed. A perfect statue bound in flesh and leather, unmoving, unbreathing, and eerily still. Closer and closer we’re drawn unwillingly by the camera’s grasp of our attention within the confines of our panel displays, monitors, televisions, and for the EW live crowd, the Tron screen over the stage.
A sudden flex of her chest gives way to life as she takes in a breath. Her posture straightens, hands clenching tightly as first her eyes open, looking into the camera lens from just under the bridge of her sharp brow. Slowly her head lifts as the living machine is given life once again.
UVR: Tonight, I enter the Imperial Warehouse against four competitors for my first shot at Imperial Gold. Zoey Mathews-Mitchell, the Extreme Champion, has already fell to me prior and by all rights, that should have ended her tenure as champion had the opportunity been afforded. She enters feeling the residual effects of the Great Lock that I had finished her with just a few days prior. Her recovery could not have been complete. It is without a question that she shall fall but to whom shall it be?
She very briefly pauses.
UVR: Let us begin with the Aztec Witch, Tia Santos. I have done my research and found an adequate challenger in her. Rumor has it that she communes with the dead and I imagine she would speak with them to find some sort of advantage over her opposition from those who once knew her in life. I have a rather painful truth to deliver to you, Ms. Santos. Whatever skeletons you drag up from the graves I have put them in, you will find that they never really stood a chance against me. Living survivors and victors would be a far better source. Leaning on the past for an advantage is most certainly tantamount to disaster when dealing with an ever evolving machine.
A small smirk spreads across her lips.
UVR: The plague bearer, Mary Mallon. A rookie by definition does not equate untalented or incapable. Even a raw wrestler often does not come to the festivities without a party favor to offer. She is a reckless contradiction, given to wanton violence yet demonstrates enough control to apply an effective submission such as her Ninth Plague; a fujiwara armbar, while possessing both the agility and coordination to utilize her Fifth Plague; a hurricanrana. All while using the frenzied strikes of a talented bar room brawler. No I shall not “sleep” on this one as she is clearly the wild card in this event. That being said, I have broken many Wild Cards and many have found my arm strength a bit too potent for them to effectively break me with a mere arm bar. I tend to slam them on their heads repeatedly after a bit of effort for the attempt. Good luck in your effort, but I have only ever tapped out to a submission once and it was something far more complicated than a kneeling armbar with a fancy name.
The Lady Terminator rubs her wrist, then adjusts her gloves. That smirk becoming a small grin.
UVR: Then there is the sinner, AJ Jenkynx. Aww… such a cute edge-lord. Look at you, sinning and winning and yet your third match saw your defeat at the hands of Ms. Mallon. What cost you your victory? She frustrated you, worked the weakness that is your impatience like a finely tuned instrument and played a symphony of destruction upon your elbow, weakening you as a proper technician beyond her apparent pedigree. She left you unable to finish her off and vulnerable to her Ninth Plague submission that I mentioned previously. You failed because your arrogance blinded you, leaving you without a contingency plan. Your fate was sealed, Mr. Jenkynx, as it will be when you find yourself at my mercy, begging for the pain to stop.
Now with a chilling, unnerving smile on her face, she regards the camera with her head tilted to the left.
UVR: You each stand against an Apex predator with your only option being to come at me as one, but I shall weather and endure while you each fumble in ignorance withering against my assault and turning upon one another as you face a machine beyond your comprehension. I am Ursula Von Rossbach and I am the vanguard of your destruction.
She steps forward as the camera lifts up and above her, entering into the shadow.
UVR: Welcome to the inevitable…
The light immediately dies out, casting the entire room in darkness.
FM Young Vs. Casey Grey
Casey Grey was out to the stage first and looked very serious, determined, and ready for a fight. She had her hair pulled back and marched to the ring with purpose.
Scott Parker: This one is very personal, folks.
Gemma Foster: At least to Casey it is. She feels that FM left her high and dry in a time of need but, did she?
FM Young slipped out to the stage and readied herself.
Scott Parker: I know that FM wants to win and she’d never back down from this fight but you have to wonder how smart it is as she’s just weeks away from competing for the EW World Championship.
Young charged the ring and slid in under the ropes and jumped to her feet. Casey and FM Young lock up in the center of the ring. Young simply throws Casey to the ground with what appears to be minimal effort. Casey rushes up to lock up again, and the scene replays itself. FM Young shrugs with a smirk as Casey gets up again, slower this time. Casey approaches with a little more caution, and after another lock up trips F.M. Young to the ground. Young holds on and executes an arm drag, slamming Casey into the mat for a third time. Casey slaps the mat in frustration as Young readies for another go. Again they come to the center of the ring but this time Casey kicks Young in the gut and goes immediately into a sitout facebuster. When Young gets back to her feet, Casey is waiting with her own arm drag. Casey floats over and locks in the Torque Wrench (Fujiwara armbar), but Young is too close to the ropes and gets her hand on the bottom rope to break the hold. Casey capitalizes on the referee’s count, releasing just after a count of four. Young pulls herself up, shaking her arm but Casey is waiting for her and delivers the Breath Mint, rocking Young back on the ropes. Grey follows up with an Irish whip, leading to a powerslam and a quick cover.
1…And a kick out from Young. Casey looks frustrated, but brings Young to her feet and throws her through the middle ropes to the floor. Casey follows.
Scott Parker: Here we go. Casey is way too dangerous outside of the ring. Every time she gets out here it looks like a traffic accident when she’s done. It’s a good thing there’s no crowd because who knows what could happen.
Gemma Foster: This is definitely not where FM wants to be right now.
Casey drives Young into the apron with her shoulder before grabbing her by the hair and Biel Throwing her into the guard rail. Casey presses the attack, dragging Young to her feet and throwing her into the ring steps before tossing her under the bottom rope.
Scott Parker: That was…tame by most standards.
Gemma Foster: I don’t know what’s up with Casey lately. I don’t think anyone does. It seems like just stupid, animal style rage. And for what?
Casey slides into the ring to break the count before getting out to the floor again. She approaches the announcers’ table.
Casey Grey: There’s no crowd, you moron. I can hear everything you say.
Casey pulls Gemma out of her seat and shoves her aside. Then she grabs the chair she was sitting in and throws it over the rail into the stands.
Casey Grey: Have fun standing for the rest of the night, Gemma.
Casey enters the ring again after another glance at Gemma Foster and walks up to F.M. Young, who explodes forth with a massive spear on Casey! Both are slow to get to their feet, but Casey manages to make it up first. She hits the ropes but runs into a hip toss from Young! Young circles around the ring as she gets fired up. Casey moves for another attack but gets dropkicked! Casey is slow to get up and when she does it’s only to be caught up in a spinebuster from Young! Young takes an exaggerated breath.
Scott Parker: Young mounting a serious comeback here!
Gemma Foster: Yes, but how long can it last? The time spent outside of the ring looks like it may be taking a toll on her.
F.M. Young is slowing down, that much is obvious, but she still connects with the Man Machine Interface (Discus Clothesline) and lays Casey out. F.M. Young immediately goes to a corner for the Negasonic Warhead (Starship Pain) …and connects! She lands perfectly on Casey! Young wastes no time in going for the pin.
One… Two… Thre—
Casey kicks out in an inch before defeat and Young takes a moment to collect herself. She is very slow to get up, so slow in fact that Casey almost beats her to her feet. An irish whip from Young and she lands a flying headscissors, which sends Casey into a corner. Casey makes it to a sitting position while Young remains on her knees in the center of the ring.
Scott Parker: What is going on?
Gemma Foster: I don’t know. FM looks tired here. This isn’t something that we see a lot of. I can’t help but think of Alicia last week and—
Scott Parker: Don’t start with that crazy voodoo crap. You know as well as I do it’s ludicrous.
FM Young gets to her feet and hits a vertical suplex on Casey, then covers for a two count. Again, Young is struggling to find her feet. As she tries to stand, it appears as if she’s holding her chest. Casey gets a long break as well, and gets back on her feet. FM Young turns around to face Casey and Casey nails her with a clothesline from hell. F.M. Young can barely even try to sit up after, while Casey waits behind her. When FM Young finally stands up, Casey moves in and lifts her for the Racklash (Rack attack). FM Young is down, and Casey begins to stomp on Young’s body. When it becomes apparent that Young seems no longer capable of defending herself, the referee covers her body with his and calls for the bell. Casey exits the ring as trainers enter in a rush to check on Young.
Scott Parker: What in the Hell just happened, Gemma?
Gemma Foster: Nope. Nope. Big ol’ nope. I’m not getting involved in whatever witchcraft has been going on.
Young is helped to her feet and gingerly walked to the back under her own will but with trainers close by.
Backstage we see FM Young being checked in on by EMTs and trainers as Lacy Nelson walks by her and tosses her a bottle of water. The two nod to each other as Nelson walks away.
EW Extreme Championship
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell (c) Vs. Ursula Von Rossbach Vs. Mary Mallon Vs. Tia Santos Vs. AJ Jenkynx
Von Rossbach was the first down to the ring and stretched her arms out as she walked to the ring. She reached up to the ropes and pulled herself up to the apron and climbed inside.
Scott Parker: Von Rossbach has to be a favorite in this match after defeating Zoey last week in impressive fashion.
Von Rossback stood in a corner and almost looked very zen as AJ Jenkynx came out next and was the total opposite. He seemed unhinged as he moved around the stage and stomped his feet. He moved down the ramp and went right under the ring and tossed in a chair. Von Rossbach watched it just fly and bounce off the mat. Jenkynx pulled out a table and started to set it up on the far side of the ring from the ramp.
Gemma Foster: AJ Jenkynx has been saying all week that he’s going to be the next Extreme Champion and he’s going to start arranging furniture now.
Scott Parker: We saw AJ before the show started as he cost The Haters a match in the Warfare Series.
The music changed and lights started to flash a dark blue as Tia Santos made her way to the stage. She had a handkerchief over her face and she pulled it down as she looked around. She saw Jenkynx setting up the table and just started to make her way down to the ring. She jumped into the ring and stood across from Von Rossbach as Jenkyn jumped on the apron. Out next was Mary Mallon and she ran to the ramp.
Gemma Foster: The Plague Rat is ready for this one, Scott. She’s been inside the head of AJ Jenkynx for weeks now and I have no doubt she’s going to bring the fight tonight.
Mallon locked eyes on Jenkynx who looked like a rabid dog ready to pounce as she started to make her way down. Finally, Zoey Mathews-Mitchell walked out to the stage with her kendo stick in hand. She pointed it down to the ring as she removed her neoprene mask. The Extreme Championship was around her waist as she started to walk down the ramp.
Scott Parker: This is Zoey’s first title defense due to COVID-19 and her being stuck out of state for some time. She’s ready though.
Gemma Foster: I talked to her backstage before the show and she is definitely still sore from her match with Ursula last week but she says that she’s ready to compete.
Zoey handed the championship off to the referee and the bell sounded to get the match started. Jenkynx quickly charged Mallon and the two went back and forth with left and right hands. Zoey and Santos looked at each other before looking at Von Rossbach. Those two quickly teamed up to try and take out Von Rossback as they landed punches and kicks. Zoey cracked the kendo stick across the back of Von Rossbach as she started to walk away.
Scott Parker: A smart move by Zoey and Tia to work together to try and take Ursula out of this match early on. Mallon and Jenkynx had spilled to the outside and were battling on the ramp.
Zoey swung the kendo stick again but this time Von Rossbach caught it. She pulled on it and it lunged Zoey forward and she was rocked with a clothesline. Von Rossbach tried to grab Santos but Santos cartwheeled out of the way. She then grabbed Von Rossbach and tried to armdrag her but Von Rossbach countered into an Irish whip into the corner. Von Rossbach charged and ran into Santos and then turned to Zoey. She lifted Zoey up into a powerslam but ran her into Santos first and then slammed her to the mat.
Gemma Foster: What an innovative slam!
Mallon and Jenkynx were closer to the ring again and Jenkynx slammed Mallon’s head off the steel steps before rolling her into the ring. He climbed up to the apron and then the top rope and was able to connect with a swanton bomb. He quickly turned and covered Mallon but was pulled up at one by Von Rossbach. He hit her with forearm strikes and looked for a spinning heel kick but she blocked it and just swatted his leg away. Von Rossbach came back with a Sambo Side Kick (similar to how she executes the Legsweep, she grabs the outstretched wrist of her opponent and plants a hard side kick right in her foe's ribs, releasing the wrist as she does so). He started to stand again and Von Rossbach grabbed him by his wrist again and pulled down on his arm. She then whipped him into the ropes and he slid under them to get away. Von Rossbach turned and was hit with a shotgun kick from Zoey! Von Rossbach fell into the ropes and Mallon was there with a trash can lid to the head and Von Rossbach hit the mat and rolled out of the ring.
Scott Parker: Von Rossbach rolling out of the ring after taking a few hard shots.
Santos hit the ropes and ran at Von Rossbach and took her out with a top con hilo. Santos popped up to her feet and rolled back into the ring and had to duck the Seventh Plague (Running Big Boot) from Mallon. Santos kept running and jumped up, taking Zoey down with a headscissors takedown. As Santos got back to her feet she was rolled up from behind by Mallon who just got two as Santos popped up. Jenkynx was back in the ring and grabbed Mallon from behind before hitting I’m Deadlier (Unprettier). He rolled her into a cover but just got two as Santos broke it up. Jenkynx looked for a big boot to Santos but she ducked it and hit a Danze de los Muertos (Dance of the Dead) [Tia bends back, using her flexibility, evading the kick. She bends back up and goes for a spinning back kick which the opponent usually ducks. As they come up, however, Tia’s kicking leg comes down and she nails them in the face with a Chick Kick, finishing with a dancing spin with her arms out.]).
Gemma Foster: AJ might be old cold with that kick to the head.
Santos covered Jenkynx but Zoey pulled her off at two. Santos and Zoey were both to their feet and started to go blow for blow. Zoey looked for the Faceplant (Famouser) but Santos moved out of the way and then hit a hurricanrana. Santos covered Zoey but she kicked out at two. Von Rossbach pulled Santos out of the ring and hit her with a German suplex onto the announce table and she bounced off it. Mallon was readied and hit Zoey with the Plague March (Curbstomp). She covered and Zoey kicked out at two.
Gemma Foster: We almost had a new champion, Scott!
Mallon got to her feet and was stalking Zoey but was grabbed from behind and spun around by Von Rossbach. Von Rossbach lifted her up and drove her into the mat with a big spinebuster. Von Rossbach lifted Mallon back to her feet and quickly delivered the Sambo Chokeslam (Ursula grips her opponent's throat, kicks their leg out while lifting them up, and violently chokeslams them to the canvas one-handed). Von Rossbach covered and got two before Santos and Jenkynx both broke it up. Jenkynx had a chair in his hand and drove it into the gut of Santos and then Von Rossbach. He then cracked it into the back of Von Rossbach. He was preparing to hit her in the head with it next before he turned his attention to the corner where Gio DeLuca had run to the ring. Gio came off the second rope and hit AJ with the Bite Your Tongue (Jumps off 2nd rope to DDT). DeLuca ran around the ring, fired up, and jumped out.
Scott Parker: Gio giving AJ a little payback!
Von Rossbach and Zoey were now fighting on the apron, trying to knock the other off. Zoey hit her with an elbow to the head and tried to hit her with a German suplex off the apron and through the table on the outside but Von Rossbach held onto the ropes. Mallon ran over and hit her with her Seventh Plague but Von Rossbach held on. Zoey was pulling hard, trying to hit the German, and Santos ran over with a step up enziguri and Von Rossbach’s hold slipped and Zoey hit her with a German suplex through the table on the outside!
Gemma Foster: Oh my god! What a German suplex off the apron!
Mallon grabbed Santos and wanted to lock in the Ninth Plague (Fujiwara Arm Bar) but Santos countered into Beso de Muerte (Kiss of Death [Tia wraps an arm around the opponent’s neck and bends them back (think Bray Wyatt’s Sister Abigail). She places a kiss on the forehead of her opponent before transitioning her arm around the back of their neck and performs a Dream DDT]). Santos covered Mallon and picked up a pinfall victory.
Scott Parker: Tia Santos is the Extreme Champion!
Santos snatched the championship from the referee and had her hand raised in victory. Von Rossbach and Zoey Mathews-Mitchell were getting out of the rubble of the table on the outside. Zoey looked around in disappointment as Santos celebrated. Jenkynx grabbed a steel chair and smashed it against the barricade on the outside of the ring as he made his way to the back.
Gemma Foster: A huge moment for Tia Santos as she captures her first championship and does so by beating four other competitors. You know she’s going to have a lot of challengers gunning for her, Scott.
Santos puts the championship belt on her shoulder as we cut away.
EW World Championship
Lacy Nelson (c) Vs. Bailey Mayhew
Gemma Foster: Can Bailey Mayhew do what Tia Santos did in the last match and leave the match as a new champion?
Scott Parker: Let’s find out!
Bailey Mayhew stepped out onto the stage with Fischer and Shay flaking her. Zoey stepped back out to the stage and said a few things to Mayhew before the trio left her on her own. Mayhew removed her neoprene mask on her way to the ring and stood at the bottom of the ramp and looked around.
Scott Parker: Mayhew getting some words of encouragement from her teammates.
Gemma Foster: I’m sure Bailey has gotten all sorts of pointers from all of the members of the Grrrls. It’ll be interesting since Brighton just competed against Lacy recently.
Mayhew was in the ring and adjusted her elbow pads as Lacy Nelson walked out from behind the curtain with the EW World Championship was around her waist. She opened her jacket and removed the title, thrusting it into the air. She looked down over her sunglasses before heading to the ring. She climbed up into the ring and moved around before posing again.
Gemma Foster: Lacy Nelson has a date with FM Young if she can get through Bailey here tonight.
Nelson handed off the belt and we got the announcement of the match. Nelson and Mayhew shared a quick handshake and started to circle each other. Nelson pulled Mayhew into a side headlock and flipped her over to the mat. Mayhew slipped out and to her feet before ducking a lariat. Mayhew took Nelson to the mat with a snapmare and then kicked her in the back and then a dropkick to the back of the head. Mayhew rolled to her feet and pulled Nelson up but Nelson sent her into the corner. Nelson charged and hit a clothesline and slipped through the second ropes feet first, landing on the apron. Mayhew walked forward and Nelson climbed to the top rope and hit her with a crossbody when she turned around. Nelson covered but barely got two as Mayhew kicked out. Mayhew and Nelson got to their feet and Nelson pulled her in for a DDT but Mayhew countered into a northern lights suplex and bridged into a pin for one. They both climbed to their feet and Mayhew hit a palm strike. She hit a second palm strike and followed it up with Brain Damage (Chris Hero's Death Blow). Nelson fell to a knee and Mayhew hit the ropes and looked for Kneed You Tonight (Springboard Knee Strike) but Nelson dodged it.
Scott Parker: The champion had that well scouted.
Nelson kicked Mayhew in the gut and delivered El Editor (Hammerlock DDT). Nelson rolled her into a cover but only got two as Mayhew kicked out. Nelson grabbed Mayhew’s legs and started to go for a cloverleaf but Mayhew was able to kick her away and get to her feet. Mayhew connected with a step up enziguri and both superstars were down.
Gemma Foster: Back and forth we go, Scott. All it takes is one little mistake and the other could have this match won.
Mayhew was up just before Nelson and landed a hard kick to the gut. Nelson returned the favor with a hard forearm to the face. Mayhew came back with a back elbow to the side of the head. Nelson hit Mayhew with a spinning back to the gut. Nelson looked for a jumping knee to the face but Mayhew blocked it and hit another kick to the gut. This let Mayhew get into position and deliver Into the Sunset (Asai DDT). Mayhew started to climb up to the top rope and readied herself. She dove, looking for Not Just Another Frog Splash, but Nelson rolled out of the way. Mayhew hit the mat and slowly got to her feet which let Nelson connect with the Hollywood Split (Shining Wizard)! Nelson rolled Mayhew into a cover and got a two count before Mayhew just kicked out in time.
Scott Parker: That’s as close to three as it could be, Gemma. Bailey was able to kick out just in time.
Nelson pulled her hair back from her face and stood up, looking more and more angry. She adjusted her kick pads and moved around the ring. Mayhew got to her feet and landed a kick to the frustrated Nelson. Mayhew looked for a Lockjaw (Stunner) but Nelson pushed her away. She turned around and was rocked with a superkick from Nelson!
Gemma Foster: Superkick!
Nelson pumped her fist and quickly pulled Mayhew up before delivering the Headline (Eat Defeat). Nelson rolled onto Mayhew and picked up the win.
Scott Parker: Lacy Nelson retains the EW World Championship!
Nelson jumped up and was handed the World Championship and she threw it up in the air. She leaned out of the ropes and asked for a microphone and moved back into the ring.
Lacy Nelson: Cut the music.
Her music cut as she tried to catch her breath and speak, moving around the ring.
Lacy Nelson: They keep getting put up and I keep knocking them down. I’ve beaten half of the Grrrls, I beat a so called Emperor, and next I’ll beat FM Young. FM, get better. Figure out whatever is going on with you and fix it because I want you at your best at Warfare.
She takes a moment to pause and holds up the championship.
Lacy Nelson: Oh, and Danny.
Nelson turns her back to the stage and starts to smile as she gives her ass a slap.
Lacy Nelson: I can stand here in the ring and slap my ass all I want. I heard what you said on last week’s Afterparty and you couldn’t be more wrong. I don’t look down on this company at all. I’m proud to work here at Empire Wrestling. I’m proud to be the champion. I’ll keep adding to this legacy just like when I beat you in the middle of this ring.
The lights went out and turned red as the Kingsmen, Junji and Mr Fixit, appeared in the ring and started to attack Mayhew and Nelson.
Scott Parker: The Kingsmen are here attacking the champ and Bailey!
Fixit rocked Nelson with Fixed (Haymaker) and dropped her to the mat. Junji and Fixit started to stomp on Mayhew as Fischer and Shay ran out to the ring. The Grrrls and the Kingsmen started to brawl and it spilled out of the ring.
Gemma Foster: All Hell has broken loose, Scott!
This left Nelson in the ring as Daniel Daemon started to make his way down to the ring. He climbed onto the apron as Nelson started to come to, the Grrrls and Kingsmen now having fought to the back through a side entrance in the empty crowd. The lights returned to normal as Daemon looked into the ring as Nelson got to her knees. She put up her fists, ready for a fight. Someone slid into the ring behind her, wearing a ski mask and L2N on their shirt. They ran over to Daemon and knocked him off the apron and to the floor. Daemon looked around as the person had a chair in the ring and swung it around and slammed it down.
Scott Parker: Who in the Hell is that!?
Gemma Foster: We haven’t seen that second person helping Lacy in a LONG time!
Daemon backed away and looked into the ring as the person removed their mask, looking into the camera.
Scott Parker: IT’S AJ ADAMS!
Adams turned to Daemon and Daemon was fuming at Adams’ interference.
Gemma Foster: Was it always AJ!?
Adams turned to Nelson and helped her to her feet as she had a big smile on her face. She pointed to the L2N on his shirt and then he handed her the World Championship. Daemon pointed to them both and promised to end them soon. The show ended with Nelson leaning on the ropes with the championship in hand with Adams standing on an opposite corner.
Episode #48 - August 3, 2020
TEAM | MATCHES | POINTS |
Old Guard | 3 | 17 |
EMBLEM | 3 | 14 |
Grrrls | 3 | 21 |
Kingsmen | 3 | 15 |
Ragnarok | 2 | 0 |
Dishonor | 2 | 7 |
Blake/Taylor | 3 | 7 |
The Crew | 2 | -10 |
The Haters | 3 | 0 |
