Episode #51 - August 28, 2020
Scott Parker: Hello everyone! We’re here for Hype 51 and as always we have a good show lined up for you.
Gemma Foster: It’ll be hard to top last week’s big 50th show that saw TWO title changes, Scott.
Scott Parker: If you missed the announcement earlier this week there’s going to be a huge main event next week as we’ll see a triple threat match with the winner taking on FM Young at Next Level: Ascension with the World Championship on the line. Lacy Nelson will get an opportunity for a rematch but she has to get through David Blazenwing who has called out our champion, along with Ben Macbeth who returned last week and staked his claim to the championship.
Gemma Foster: Scott, Macbeth has NEVER been pinned or made to submit in his ENTIRE Empire Wrestling career. He’s the uncrowned champion and he wants his championship back. It’s hard to argue that he has a claim as he never lost the Heavyweight Championship but instead it was vacated when EW merged with BWF all those years ago.
Scott Parker: It’s hard to argue that someone like Blazenwing isn’t also worthy of the shot as he’s had a tremendous run here as of late, Gemma. And don’t forget about Lacy. That match with FM Young at Warfare is a match of the year candidate for sure.
Meg Coleman Vs. Caitlin Shay
Caitlin Shay stepped out onto the stage with her neoprene mask on and posed for a moment before removing it.
Gemma Foster: The Grrrls have had an interesting few weeks, Scott.
Scott Parker: That’s right, Gemma. They were looking unstoppable as a team but just fell short in the Warfare Series and Zoey Mathews-Mitchell lost the Extreme Championship.
Gemma Foster: Let’s see what the Grrrls can do here tonight.
Shay stood in the ring as Meg Coleman walked out onto the stage with a big smile on her face.
Gemma Foster: Meg Coleman making her Empire Wrestling debut here and has been talking about it all week. She’s excited to be here, Scott.
Coleman made two fists at her side and took a deep breath before heading to the ring. She climbed up the steel steps and wiped her boots on the apron before climbing into the ring. Coleman moved around the ring as Shay stepped up to her and the two locked up quickly to kick things off. Shay hit Coleman with a forearm to the face but Coleman came right back with left and right jabs before flipping Shay to the mat with a judo hip toss. She tried to lock in an armbar but Shay quickly rolled away to the ropes. She climbed to her feet and hit Coleman with a boot to the face leaning back on the ropes as she ran at her. Shay then hit the far ropes and came back with a running crossbody to take Coleman down to the mat. They both rolled to their feet and Shay started to set up for the Shayplex (Half Dragon Half Tiger Suplex) but Coleman hit her with a hard elbow to the side of the head. Coleman turned and took Shay to the mat with a belly to belly slam.
Scott Parker: What a slam by Meg Coleman!
Coleman pulled Shay back up to her feet and sent her into the corner. Coleman charged and hit a lifting knee in the corner and then came out with a running bulldog. Shay stumbled up to her feet and Coleman pulled her in and dropped her with a float over DDT and was right into the cover for two before Shay kicked out. Coleman started to stalk Shay as she slowly stood. Shay ducked under a lariat attempt and then caught Coleman with a pele kick. Shay started to climb to the ropes and was a little slow at it. She readied herself and looked for a frog splash but Coleman rolled out of the way. Both competitors got to their feet and Coleman took Shay right back down to the mat with a Russian leg sweep. Coleman held onto the arm of Shay and tried again for the armbar but Shay rolled and was able to get Coleman’s shoulder on the mat for just a two count as Coleman kicked out and got right to her feet. Coleman ran and jumped, rocking Shay with a big Superwoman Punch! Coleman dropped onto Shay with a cover and picked up the pinfall!
WINNER: Meg Coleman
Scott Parker: That big steel fist from Meg Coleman just dropped Caitlin Shay for the three count.
Coleman climbed to her feet and smiled as her hand was raised. She climbed to the middle turnbuckle and posed as Shay rolled out of the ring.
Proving Ground
The scene begins right in Kevin Olsen's interview area backstage! He stands behind a very familiar looking Ginger Ninja in her black and green ring gear, looking ready as ever to compete with a wily and determined look on that freckled face. Rubbing a hand over her taped fist, she shifts left and right, a slight springiness to her. Molly seems like a live wire, full of energy and clearly ready to go!
KO: Kevin Olsen here with Molly Hatchet about to face one half of Dishonor, Jason Evans! How are you feeling, Ginger Ninja?
Molly shoots a big grin at the intrepid interviewer.
Molly: Fired up, lad! Always excited and rarin' ta' go before e'ery match!
KO: What do you think of your opponent tonight?
She gives a quick nod.
Molly: He looks like a tough competitor and while it looks like lady luck has nae' been on his or Kaito's side in sometime, ye' ne'er know how a night can go. He's certainly skilled enough ta' go toe ta' toe, but can he match wits and wills with me? That's tha' only question I have, but I believe I already have tha' answer and we'll see it play out in tha' ring, yeah.
Kevin quirks a brow at the small, spirited redhead beside him.
KO: Playing it coy then, Ms. Hatchet?
Molly chuckles.
Molly: Not at all, I just like keepin' tha' fans watchin' at home in suspense. "Can she do it? Will she fall?" He seemed excited to be facin' me goin' off his twitter post earlier. Even paid me a small respect, but while I believe he'll try ta' beat me, try is all he can do. I'm not gonna' go down tonight or any other night, fer if I've somethin' ta' prove and it's not to tha' fans, me opponent, or meself even, but to one Ursula Von Rossbach.
KO: I was going to ask on that subject next. Last week during the After Party, she pretty much grabbed you by the throat and ragdolled you like a chew-toy in the mouth of a Rottweiler. Are you sure pursuing any kind of conflict with someone that scary powerful is what you want to do, Molly?
She places her hands on her hips, lips pursed as she looks down and to the floor in a brief moment of contemplation. Giving a nod, she looks back to Kevin with a big grin.
Molly: Aye, me mind is made up, Mr. Olsen, but first I have ta' beat Jason Evans and anyone else that she thinks I have ta' prove meself against ta' get that match. I wonnae' rest until Ursula deems me worthy of one more match!
There is genuine concern written on Kevin's face as he looks at his interview subject.
KO: I don't mean to be disrespectful, but why is facing her so important to you and your wrestling career? Why are you going through so much trouble to face someone who clearly wants nothing to do with you?
Molly rubs her wrists as a bit of discomfort sets in. She looks Kevin directly into his eyes.
Molly: Because I'm tired, Kevin... bloody fawkin' tired of havin' this one foe in me life that has been unbeatable. She's me nemesis, me ultimate rival, tha' living counter ta' everythin' I am and until I beat her, I'll ne'er be able to call meself tha' best or greatest at anythin' in this sport. I've beaten bigger and even stronger, but not better than her. Ursula Von Rossbach is simply put, tha' best professional wrestler I have e'er faced and I have ta' beat her if I'm e'er ta' wear that mantle...
She looks back to the camera.
Molly: Jason Evans, yer a grand opponent ta' have and certainly a test of any wrestler's skill that comes across yer path. Ye'll put me to tha' test and I face you ta' get a potential shot at somethin' greater than a championship, greater than braggin' rights, no... I have ta' beat you in order ta' make me dream come true. I have ta' beat you on tha' path to tha' Lady Terminator, Ursula Von Rossbach. I'll stop at nothin' fer tha' right ta' face her one last time and you, lad? Yer in me way of that goal. So gird yer loins... Tha' Ginger Ninja is comin fer ya!!
Turning away from Kevin, Molly leaves the interview area, ending the interview abruptly.
KO: I for one hope you achieve your goals and dreams, Molly Hatchet.
Take the pledge
Mr. Fixit w/ Junji Buranku Vs. Harvey Carbine w/ Josh Cherry
The camera cut somewhere else backstage and there was a brawl happening between Midnight Special and the Tag Team Champions the Kingsmen.
Scott Parker: Carbine and Fixit couldn’t wait until they got out to the ring, Gemma!
The four men were exchanging blows as Carbine speared Junji into a large pile of boxes. Fixit pulled Carbine off and tossed him into the wall as Cherry came running and jumped onto the back of Fixit with clubbing blows!
Gemma Foster: All Hell has broken loose backstage!
Security got involved and started to break up the brawl as we cut away.
New Alliances
Alicia Monroe stands outside of FM Young’s locker room staring at the door. After a moment she knocks. Young answers the door.
Alicia Monroe: Um, hi. I just wanted to come by. I’m sure you saw what happened last week with Casey going further down the rabbit hole and deciding to team up with Karli to deal with their…enemies. I’m certain that I’m on that list and I’d be willing to bet my last wooden nickel that you are too. I know that you’re probably busy dealing with champion stuff but…I was thinking…maybe we could watch each other’s backs or something? I’m having a hard time focusing on my own shot at Next Level with thinking about those two clowns and you’re the first person I thought to ask.
FM Young: Sure. Of course Alicia, I’ll watch your back. I’m actually fond of you too outside of the relationship with Casey. I’m sorry all this is happening, but know that you can always come to me.
FM Young reaches out to pat Alicia on the shoulder with a friendly reassuring smile. Or at least what the woman can manage of one. Then after a beat, Alicia smiles and steps back so Young can shut the door, leaving Alicia standing outside. Alicia looks content at the response she’s gotten to her question and after staring at the door for a few seconds she turns and walks away with a smile.
Extreme Division Match
AJ Jenkynx Vs. Austin Scott
Austin Scott started to make his way out to the stage for our next match. He removed a pair of sunglasses and tossed them off the stage to one of the stagehands. Before he can do anything else he’s attacked from behind by AJ Jenkynx.
Gemma Foster: AJ is using some underhanded tactics to get a little advantage early on, Scott.
Jenkynx stomped on Scott on the stage and then pulled him to his feet before putting him in a headlock and pulling him to the ring. Scott pushed Jenkynx off towards the apron and then speared him into it. Jenkynx hit him with a lifting knee and then sent him hard into the steel steps. Jenkynx grabbed a steel chair and cracked it on the back of Scott. Scott moved around the ring and rolled into the ring and AJ went after him. Jenkynx climbed inside and Scott stepped on the chair before he could pick it up and clubbed Jenkynx with a hard blow to the back. Scott lifted Jenkynx and dropped him on his knee for a backbreaker. Jenkynx grabbed his back and climbed up to his feet as Scott delivered Straight Whiskey (Running lariat). Scott covered but Jenkynx kicked out at two.
Scott Parker: AJ with more to give.
Scott pulled Jenkynx up to his feet and sent him into the corner. He went to charge and Jenkynx moved out of the way before hitting Scott with a German suplex. Jenkynx and Scott got to their feet and Jenkynx grabbed the chair but Scott pulled it away from him. Jenkynx kicked Scott in the gut and grabbed the chair before cracking it on the back of Scott. Jenkynx pulled Scott down with a DDT and covered for two. Scott powered to his feet and speared Jenkynx into the corner. Jenkynx pushed him away and looked for a clothesline but Scott grabbed Jenkynx and delivered the Full Throttle (Inverted Overdrive). Scott covered but Jenkynx was able to kick out just before three.
Gemma Foster: So close!
Scott rolled out of the ring and grabbed another chair and tossed it into the ring. He climbed back in and set it up and walked over to Jenkynx and stomped on him. He lifted him up onto his shoulders.
Scott Parker: I think Austin Scott is looking for the Ace in the Hold onto that chair!
Jenkynx was able to slip off Austin’s shoulders and land behind him. Scott turned around and Jenkynx hit a cutter! Jenkynx climbed to his feet and started to climb to the top rope but was pushed off as Gio DeLuca jumped onto the apron. DeLuca jumped into the ring and grabbed Jenkynx before hitting with a DDT!
Gemma Foster: Gio out here returning the favor from last week!
DeLuca rolled out of the ring as Scott pulled Jenkynx up and delivered the Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver) and rolled him into a cover for the win.
WINNER: Austin Scott
Gio DeLuca laughed on the ramp as Scott rolled out of the ring, Jenkynx starting to get to a seated position.
Gemma Foster: AJ Jenkynx and Gio DeLuca costing each other wins in back to back weeks. This one is still not over between them.
Brawl for All
The cameras took us backstage once again and Midnight Special were walking through the hallways. They kicked open a door to one of the studios where the Kingsmen were in the process of getting their pictures taken for the EW website with their titles. Junji and Fixit turned and dropped the titles as Carbine and Cherry charged and they started to brawl once again.
Scott Parker: These two teams going at it once again!
Lights were knocked over and Cherry was tackled through a table as security came running in, trying to get the two teams apart again.
Gemma Foster: Cherry and Carbine are being escorted out of the door and I think out of the building!
Scott Parker: These two teams are ready to tear into each other.
Cherry and Carbine had their arms around each other as they shouted at Kingsmen being restrained inside the Warehouse.
Angel Kash w/ Summer Page Vs. Kayla Taylor w/ Harper Blake
We were all set for the next match as Angel Kash made her way out to the ring first with Summer Page beside her. The two were introduced before making their way down to the ring.
Gemma Foster: This is an interesting pairing, Scott. Angel Kash scouted Summer Page last week during her match and now we find out that they’ll be teaming up.
Kash made the referee come over and hold the middle and top rope so that she and Page could easily get into the ring. Kash and Page stood back to back and posed for the camera. Kayla Taylor and Harper Blake were out to the stage next as the two chatted at the top of the ramp before starting their walk.
Scott Parker: Kayla Taylor and Harper Blake have quietly been getting better and better as a team lately. We already know that Kayla is one of the better tag team specialists that we’ve had here in EW.
Taylor climbed into the ring as Blake jumped onto the apron on the far side. She acted as if she were going to climb in and Page got in her face quickly. The referee tried to get both ladies out of the ring and Kash turned and threw a thumb into the eye of Taylor. Page got out of the ring and the referee rang the bell to start the match.
Gemma Foster: Angel Kash just took out one of Kayla’s eyes to get an advantage here.
Taylor grabbed at her eye and was bent over, allowing Kash to hit her with a jumping facebuster. Kash pulled Taylor to her feet and Taylor swung with punches to the side and stomach of Kash. Taylor was setting up for a belly to belly slam but Kash raked her in the eyes and got separation as the referee gave her a warning. Taylor grabbed at her eye again and Kash kicked her in the gut, making Taylor fall back into the corner. Kash rubbed her forearm across the face and eyes of Taylor before tripping her feet out and making her fall to the mat in a seated position. Kash rubbed her boot across the face of Taylor as the referee told her to get out of the corner. Kash pulled Taylor out to the center of the ring but took a boot to the face. Taylor tried to roll up Kash with a small package but Kash kicked out at two. Taylor, with only one eye open, pulled Kash up and started to set up for the Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes) but Page jumped onto the apron. Taylor turned her attention to her as Blake pulled her off the apron which allowed Kash to spin her around and hit her with ash Flow (Codebreaker) and cover for the win.
WINNER: Angel Kash
Blake slid into the ring quickly to go after Kash and Kash rolled out of the ring and was met by Page who gave her a high five before the two hugged and laughed, pointing and mocking Taylor’s eye.
Gemma Foster: Angel Kash picks up a victory here tonight and she and Page are off to celebrate it.
Honor the past… Embrace the future.
Tia Santos Vs. Fenryr Wulfsson
Scott Parker: Here we go, Gemma. This one should be a great bout between the Extreme Champion Tia Santos and Fenryr Wulfsson.
Fenryr Wulfsson stepped out onto the stage for the next match with Rune standing behind him. He stood with his arms folded at the top of the ramp as Rune walked around him.
Gemma Foster: We saw Ragnarok kick Karli Frost out last week and he has a big opportunity here tonight.
Fenryr and Rune started to make their way down to the ring and climbed up inside. Rune was talking to Fenryr as Tia Santos started to make her way out to the stage. She had the Extreme Title sitting on her shoulder and held it up high with one hand as she grinned.
Scott Parker: Tia Santos has been a force since coming to Empire Wrestling. She’s taken the Extreme Division by storm and hasn’t slowed down.
Santos made her way to the ring and rolled in under the ropes before popping up to her feet. She posed with her title in hand before handing it off to the referee. The bell sounded and things got started with Fenryr rocking Santos with a stiff forearm to the face. Santos came back with a hard chop to the chest and then a second. She caught Fenryr with a hard back elbow to the face that got him to take a step back. She jumped up, looking for a headscissors takedown, but he countered with a bucklebomb. Fenryr then grabbed Santos as she staggered out of the corner and delivered a big belly to belly slam. Fenryr stood and ripped off his shirt and tossed it at Santos as she started to slowly get to her feet. Fenryr hit the ropes and looked for a clothesline but Santos was able to duck it before handspringing into the ropes and catching Fenryr with a pele kick! Santos kipped up to her feet as Fenryr climbed to his. Fenryr grabbed Santos and sent her into the ropes and she ran up the turnbuckles and came flying off to hit her Vela en la Noche ([Candle in the Night] Tia either climbs or runs up the turnbuckle (depending on the pace of the match) and performs a Whisper In The Wind leap off the top. She comes down onto her opponent’s shoulders and nails a hurricanrana.).
Gemma Foster: What athleticism from Tia Santos!
Santos rolled up to her feet as Fenryr started to stand. Santos tried to pull Fenryr in for a DDT but he was able to push her away. He lifted her up in a press and dropped her for the 9-9-9 (Gorilla Press Slam). Fenryr roared and grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the mat. He lifted her up for Nine Days (Two-handed Suspended Choke Hold) but she was able to land a hard punch to the face and he dropped her. Fenryr looked for a big boot to the face but Santos was ready and was able to connect with her Danze de los Muertos ([Dance of the Dead] Usually performed when an opponent goes for a kick to her head. Tia bends back, using her flexibility, evading the kick. She bends back up and goes for a spinning back kick which the opponent usually ducks. As they come up, however, Tia’s kicking leg comes down and she nails them in the face with a Chick Kick, finishing with a dancing spin with her arms out). Santos quickly went into a cover and hooked a leg but Fenryr kicked out at two.
Scott Parker: The speed of Santos is keeping Fenryr from using his power to really take Tia down.
Fenryr climbed to his feet and he was caught with a spinning back elbow to the face before taking a hard chop to the chest. Santos then pulled Fenryr in and took him down to the mat with a swinging neckbreaker. She went to the corner and quickly climbed to the top rope and hit Fenryr with a big elbow drop. Instead of going for a cover, Santos pulled Fenryr to his feet and started to pull him in position for a move but he countered with a discus lariat. He quickly pulled Santos up and readied her for the Oathbreaker (Vertical Suplex Piledriver) but she was able to hit him with a hard knee to the face as he lifted her. She landed on her feet and delivered the Beso de Muerte ([Kiss of Death] Tia wraps an arm around the opponent’s neck and bends them back (think Bray Wyatt’s Sister Abigail). She places a kiss on the forehead of her opponent before transitioning her arm around the back of their neck and performs a Dream DDT). Santos rolled into a cover and picked up the victory.
WINNER: Tia Santos
Scott Parker: Another big win for Tia Santos this week as she takes down Fenryr.
Santos was handed her title after the match as Fenryr rolled out of the ring. This allowed Santos to sit on the top rope and say something towards the camera and pat her title on the faceplate.
Warm Up or Earn It
We’re backstage in a locker room as we can see Lacy Nelson getting ready as she just finished making sure her boots were ready and kickpads were tight. She smiles as the camera comes a little closer to her.
Lacy Nelson: It would be really easy to overlook Zoey Mathews-Mitchell here tonight. She’s been on a bit of a skid over the past month or so, right? I have such a huge match next week that could get me in the main event of Next Level: Ascension, the biggest show of the year. Zoey’s probably even a little banged up after having some tough matches against people like Von Rossbach and Santos. I can’t let that happen. As much as my eyes are on the prize of my World Championship, I need to make sure they bring Zoey into focus.
Lacy is grabbing a few things in the locker room that include her sunglasses and leather jacket.
Lacy Nelson: Zoey is going to be desperate for a win tonight against the former World Champion. She’s going to be dangerous if I try to look past her. So tonight, the prize is beating Zoey Mathews-Mitchell. I can either use this match as a warm up or as a match to say I’ve earned my match next week.
She gives a big smile as she puts her sunglasses on.
Lacy Nelson: Time to go earn it.
She grabs some tape for her wrists and heads out of the room where the lights flicker behind her, a figure can be seen standing in the room for a moment before seemingly vanishing as the door shuts.
Jason Evans Vs. Molly Hatchet
“Time Bomb” by Hollywood Undead started to play as Jason Evans made his way out to the stage by himself.
Gemma Foster: Jason Evans is on his own this week because Kaito Hirano is not cleared for action after their tag team championship match last week. Kaito suffered a minor injury and shouldn’t miss any extended time.
Evans got to the ring and stretched on the ropes before running them as Molly Hatchet jogged out to the stage ready for the match. She had a big smile on her face as she bopped around to her music before moving down the ramp.
Scott Parker: You know, Gemma, you talk about Kaito Hirnao being banged up but Jason Evans is also a little banged up as well after hurting his ribs at Warfare. Molly Hatchet has to know that coming into this match.
Hatchet and Evans were in the ring as the match was about to begin. Evans came right out with a hard chop to the chest and a kick to the gut. Hatchet hit a few stiff shots to the jaw of Evans with her forearm before sending him into the ropes. She caught him on the return with an arm drag and tried to put him into an armbar but Evans rolled forward to his feet. He ducked a lariat and lifted Hatchet up and dropped her with a belly to back suplex and bridged into a one count pin. They both climbed up to their feet and Hatchet caught him with a spear and jumped back up to her feet. She ran the ropes and came back with a running senton splash across the ribs of Evans. They both got to their feet and Hatchet quickly drove Evans to the mat with her Ginger Snap (German Suplex). Hatchet rolled Evans into a cover but he kicked out right at two. Evans rolled out to the apron to get some room between him and Hatchet. She charged but Evans caught her with a step up kick to the face. He readied himself and connected with Seeing Stars (Slingshot DDT). Evans was moving a little slow as he got to his feet and started to climb to the top but Hatchet ran over and ran to the second turnbuckle. She jumped up and flipped him to the mat with a corner version of her Ginger Ninja-Steiner (Prone Kip Up to Frankensteiner). Hatchet quickly went back to the corner and climbed to the top and delivered the Molly Bomber (Diving Cannonball Swanton Bomb from the top rope. She covered and hooked a leg, only getting two before Evans kicked out.
Gemma Foster: That was close and you can see the pain in Jason’s face as he’s grabbing those ribs.
He got to his feet as Hatchet approached and he hit her with a hard back fist. He looked for the Flatliner (Cutter) but Hatchet pushed him away and he fell through the second and top rope to the apron. She approached and hit him with a few blows before he drove his knee into her gut. He flipped over her and hit a Code Red and had her in a pin attempt, getting two before she kicked out.
Scott Parker: So close!
Evans started to climb to the top but slipped as he grabbed his ribs and landed on his feet in the corner. He looked up and Hatchet caught him with the Splash of Ginger (Stinger Splash in the corner)! She pulled him out to the middle of the ring and delivered the Hatchet Job (Falcon Arrow Face-Buster). She covered and picked up the pinfall win.
WINNER: Molly Hatchet
Gemma Foster: Another win for Molly Hatchet and you know she’s trying to send a message to Ursula Von Rossbach.
Hatchet celebrated as trainers came out to check on Evans. Hatchet jumped to the second rope and pointed up to the stage as if she was calling someone out.
Scott Parker: Maybe, just maybe, Ursula Von Rossbach and Molly Hatchet will meet sooner or later.
Mind Your Head
Casey Grey and Karli Frost walk out of the back to the stage and look around. They look at each other with a nod and make their way to the ring. Casey walks up to Kim Roberts with her hand out.
Casey Grey: Mic. Give it to me. Give it to me! Now, new girl!
Scott Parker: Come on, Kim. Give her the microphone before she does something off center.
Kim Roberts surrenders the microphone and backs into a corner, waiting. Casey returns to the center of the ring.
Casey Grey: You know, this place is so much better when none of you mouth breathers here. I can already imagine your reaction once you come back next week. You clowns can keep booing us though, because the longer you take to shut your faces the longer I’m going to stay out here. I don’t care if it takes all night. And anyone coming from the back to try to get us out of this ring is going to be assaulted.
Karli seems pleased with the threat of violence as she paces in the ring behind Casey. After a few moments, Sara Logan comes out of the back and stands on the stage.
Sara Logan: Okay, okay, okay. What is it you want, Casey?
Casey Grey: Look, I know that we all just saw my little sister make this foolish pact with FM Young in the back.
Casey turns to face Sara.
Casey Grey: Here’s the deal. If Alicia wants to run around just teaming up with random people then I want a shot to beat her up for it. You get them out here! We want Alicia and FM Young right now, tonight!
Sara Logan: Casey, no. I asked FM Young to stay in the back because I don’t think she would come out here and not try to murder both of you. And Alicia is gone. She came up here specifically to talk to Young and then left. But if this is the route you want to go, fine. You got it. Next week you and Karli will face Alicia and FM in a tag team match.
Casey Grey: Oh, you’re damn right that’s what we want! And you better have an ambulance on standby at the next Hype.
Sara smirks.
Sara Logan: Oh. There will be. And one more thing. Since I know both of you can play a little fast and loose with the rules, if either of you are disqualified or do anything against the rules in this match I’ll suspend both of you.
Casey and Karli don’t seem too pleased with that but laugh it off. Casey throws the microphone over her shoulder without looking, in the general direction of Kim Roberts. There’s a thud as it lands on the announcer’s table.
Scott Parker: Hey! That almost hit me!
Casey and Karli talk to each other for a moment before leaving the ring.
Table for One
In the backstage area we see Kevin Olson standing by, getting himself ready for #Afterparty. He’s given a big pat on the back and he turns, rolling his eyes, as he sees Gio DeLuca. Gio snatches a microphone out of Kevin’s hand and looks at the camera.
Gio DeLuca: Listen up, AJ Jerkoff. Tonight you got a little taste of your own medicine but it ain’t enough for me. You see, there’s this show coming up in a few called Next Level: Ascension. They say it’s the biggest show of the year but it’s only the biggest if I’m there. You run your mouth sayin’ the same thing ova’ and ova’. You want this to be ova’? You. Me. Next Level. Tables match. What do ya say, Jerkoff?
Gio tosses the microphone at Kevins and steps away.
Lacy Nelson Vs. Zoey Mathews-Mitchell
Gemma Foster: Main event time, Scott. This should be a good one.
Zoey Mathews-Mitchell walked out onto the stage first wearing her neoprene mask and a kendo stick in hand. She has it resting on her shoulder before looking around the Warehouse. She holds her arm out and takes a swing before walking to the ring.
Scott Parker: I think Zoey is trying to show that her shoulder isn’t in as bad of a shape as we might think.
She climbed into the ring and slowly removed her mask and flipped her hair back as she put the kendo stick down in the corner. She stretched her arms as “Come and Get It” kicked up and out came Lacy Nelson. She took a deep breath as she posed at the top of the ramp and looked down over her sunglasses. She started her walk to the ring.
Gemma Foster: Lacy is set to face Ben Macbeth and David Blazewning next week in the main event and you know that as much as she wants to focus on tonight’s match, she has to be thinking about that huge match and what it’ll mean to win it.
Nelson climbed into the ring and removed her sunglasses and tossed them to Kim Roberts as she removed her jacket. She spun it once and tossed it out of the ring as she danced side to side and moved her upper body. The bell rang and Zoey and Nelson met in the middle with a quick fist bump of respect and locked up. Zoey put Nelson in a side headlock but Nelson quickly got free and put Zoey in a sleeper. Zoey rolled forward and broke the hold as they both got to their feet. Nelson charged but Zoey lifted her up and dropped her with a flapjack. Nelson smacked the mat hard and got to her knees before taking a shotgun kick to the face! Zoey tried to roll Nelson into a cover but she kicked out at one. Nelson and Zoey got to their feet, both with a smile. They locked back up and this time Nelson sent Zoey into the corner and quickly followed with a big clothesline. Nelson sent her hard into the opposite corner and readied. She looked for a splash but ran into a boot that caught her in the chest. Nelson fell backwards to the mat and rolled right up to her feet. She had to quickly duck a clothesline and spun Zoey around before hitting a cutter. Zoey crawled into the corner and Nelson came charging and hit her with a big hip attack!
Gemma Foster: Lacy driving her hip right into the head of Zoey.
Nelson pulled Zoey into the center of the ring and was setting up for a German Suplex but Zoey fought out. Zoey looked for a tilt-a-whirl but Nelson landed on her feet and slipped behind Zoey before hitting Le Gasp (Lungblower Backbreaker). Nelson covered but just barely got two as Zoey kicked out. Nelson started to pull Zoey back up and Zoey pushed her away. Zoey landed a kick to the gut of Nelson and delivered her Faceplant (Famouser). Zoey locked in the Queen of Pain (Haas of Pain).
Scott Parker: Queen of Pain! Zoey has it locked in!
Nelson screamed out in pain as Zoey yelled at her to tap out. Nelson was able to slowly inch her way to the ropes as Zoey’s grip started to slip. Nelson grabbed the ropes to cause the break. Zoey quickly pulled Nelson to the middle of the ring and tried to lock it back in but Nelson kicked her away. She climbed up to her feet and hit Zoey with a back elbow to the face as she charged. Nelson pulled her in and connected with the Deadline (Tiger Driver '98).
Gemma Foster: That’s a new move from Lacy! She calls it the Deadline.
Nelson rolled Zoey over for a cover and got two before Zoey was just able to get her foot on the bottom ropes. Nelson crawled away and got to her feet as Zoey used the ropes to pull herself up. Zoey stepped forward and caught Nelson with a big roundhouse kick and then followed it up with her Combustion Kick (Wind-Up Overhead Kick). Zoey covered and Nelson kicked out at two. Zoey wasn’t pleased as she started to pull Nelson up. Nelson was able to hit her with a headbutt that caused Zoey to take a step backwards. Nelson rocked her with the superkick!
Scott Parker: Superkick! This one could be over!
Nelson pulled Zoey’s head in between her legs and got her up to her feet before connecting with the Byline (Canadian Destroyer).
Gemma Foster: The Byline! Another new move from Lacy! She’s been practicing that for weeks, Scott!
Nelson rolled Zoey over and covered for the victory.
WINNER: Lacy Nelson
Scott Parker: Lacy Nelson puts away the former Extreme Champion here tonight.
Nelson pulls her hair away from her face and smiles as she sits up. She climbs to her feet and holds her hand up in victory as the referee comes over. Zoey exited the ring and sat along the barricade as Nelson celebrated her win.
Gemma Foster: Can Lacy win again next week, Scott?
Nelson climbed up to the second turnbuckle and put her arms out. The lights started to flicker and she looked around. The lights went out and came up just enough for us to see the silhouette of a woman in facepaint standing in the ring. She tilted her head at Nelson, behind her. Nelson turned around and the lights went out again and as they came up, the woman was gone.
Scott Parker: What in the world was that?
Gemma Foster: It’s clear now that someone is following Lacy, or is stalking I should say.
Nelson looked up the ramp as the lights went out again and an image appeared on the jumbotron, leaving us with our final shot of the night before static.
