Episode #57 - October 23, 2020
Angel Kash Vs. Dokueki
The show was starting off with the announcement of the Tag Team Championship match at Tainted Twilight which added to the fire of this upcoming match. The bout started with Kash forcing the referee to check her for weapons. Dokueki was clearly starting to fume and Kash slapped her across the face! Kash and Dokueki started to exchange blows and holds. Dokueki started to land hard power blows to Kash and took control of the match.
Gemma Foster: It’s been fairly even in this one but these strikes from Dokueki are just vicious.
Dokueki hit a bridging fisherman’s suplex and had a solid two count before Kash kicked out. After they both popped up to their feet, Dokueki looked for a discus lariat but Kash ducked it and connected with a neckbreaker. Dokueki got to her feet and Kash delivered the Buyout (Implant DDT brainbuster). Kash looked for a cover but Dokueki got a foot on the rope to break it up.
Scott Parker: Incredible ring awareness.
Summer Page, Tiffany Lynn Page, and Johnny Draco all came down to ringside to cheer on Angel Kash. Tiffany Lynn jumped on the apron and distracted the referee as Summer and Johnny jumped into the ring. As soon as they went to attack Dokueki, Griffin Hawkins started to rush to the ring and pulled Tiffany Lynn off the apron. The referee was still distracted yelling at Tiffany and Griffin but Paul Morgan jumped into the ring from the crowd!
Gemma Foster: This match has just broken down. Here’s Paul Morgan!
Morgan hit Draco with a running big boot! Kash and Page hit Morgan with a double kick to the gut and then a double suplex. The referee started to call for the bell as the match was tossed out.
NO CONTEST - DRAW
The Social Elite quickly backed up the ramp as Dokueki, Hawkins, and Morgan were ready for a fight. Kash yelled they’d see them at Tainted Twilight.
Scott Parker: The Social Elite wants none of this fight here tonight and they’re going to save it for Tainted Twilight.
Search pt. I
We were shown clips of Tuesday’s Breakdown event with Lacy Nelson picking up a victory in the main event before being attacked and knocked out before, what appears to be, kidnapped.
Scott Parker: At Tuesday’s event no one was allowed to leave the building until late as police conducted a search and once everyone in the building had been cleared and search dogs were allowed to look around, it was determined that she was no longer in the building. We haven’t heard much this week outside of a few tweets from the person that appears to be responsible. A letter with Lacy’s signature was found earlier today, saying she was not under duress or missing. A handwriting expert was brought in and, while it appears to be her handwriting it is inconclusive. They also say that the handwriting does have characteristics of someone writing under extreme stress.
Gemma Foster: Scary stuff, Scott. All of us here at Empire Wrestling urge the attacker to let Lacy go and step forward.
Tick. Tock.
Empire World Champion FM Young sits in the lobby of a posh hotel, one of the finer ones near the Empire Wrestling Warehouse. The Heart and Soul of Empire Wrestling is wearing a thick leather rider’s jacket and for once not ripped up, black jeans with padding around the knees and thighs. Probably more dressed for the cold weather, on her lap sits her custom Empire Championship, she seems to be stroking the plate contemplatively.
When the elevator dings, she looks up and the camera pans to show a man step out. He is wearing navy dress pants with black wingtip loafers, a black belt, and a merlot colored button down shirt with black cufflinks. “The Noble” Benjamin Macbeth stops in his tracks and cocks an eyebrow. Macbeth smirks and slowly approaches Young, cautious in part due to their last interaction.
FM gets up and walks over, after adjusting her championship to her shoulder. She walks up to Ben and seems to really be resisting the urge to roll her eyes.
FM Young: Don’t call security. I’m not here to fight or ambush you.
Benjamin Macbeth: I would not dream of it. I am not three glasses of wine into the evening so what happened last time is a complete impossibility at the moment.
FM Young: Look, I just want to apologize. I’ve been too hard on you, I’ve been focused on how phony you are. I shouldn’t be taking that route, you’re right in that I haven’t acted like a proper Champion in that regard.
FM holds up a hand and forestalls whatever Benjamin is about to say, getting close but not touching him. Probably because she doesn’t want him to have the excuse to call security or start a fight, or something. She even takes a step back from him, her posture not defensive but prepared, searching.
FM Young: I am actually excited to fight you, why? Because that’s a moment, I can’t deny that you have been a juggernaut in Empire. All credit do...Don’t start, I’m still talking. So when I pin you? That’s going to be a huge thing. To that end, I’d like to give you a peace offering, see you gave me the old belt so…
FM hefts her custom Championship title off of her shoulder and passes it over to Ben, pressing it into his hands with a grin.
Benjamin Macbeth: And what would you like me to do with this...trinket?
FM Young: I’m going to get it back, I want it back. Now I’ve just given myself all incentive in the world to beat you. You can think whatever you want about me, you can say whatever you want. With this? I’m at peace, I’ll see you at Tainted Twilight, Macbeth.
Benjamin Macbeth: An interesting gesture. Transparent, hollow -- but interesting without a doubt. I do hope that those police officers were not too rough with you. I would hate for you to have another excuse as to why you could not beat me after Tainted Twilight. Because you won’t, Rat. You won’t beat me.
FM Young gives a two-finger salute off of the side of her head and steps back again, smirking. She turns around and heads out of the lobby, calling out over her shoulder. She seems jauntier, in a much better mood.
FM Young: Tick Tock Ben, that pin is coming, I’ll see my baby again after Tainted Twilight. It’ll make up for lacking it during my entrance.
The Champion even has a bit of spring in her step as she leaves the hotel, leaving Benjamin Macbeth to his devices for the time being. He holds up the championship and gazes into the faceplate with a disgusted look on his face.
Alicia Monroe & Noavrra Vs. The 323
Noavrra was out first for her team and had a solid following. Alicia Monroe came out with her National Title around her waist. She and Noavrra stood across from each other in the ring and came together and started to chat. Monroe held the title up as Noavrra smiled and looked up at it.
Gemma Foster: Lots of tension between these two as they’ll go one on one at Tainted Twilight after their great match recently where it went to a draw.
Scott Parker: These two are going to need to work together to take down the 323. This is their first match in Empire Wrestling but they’re formidable opponents as former Tag Team Champions elsewhere.
The 323, Alejandro Torres and Miguel Perez, made their way to the ring. Perez and Torres circled the ring before grabbing a microphone at ringside.
Miguel Perez: We’ve been waitin’ for this moment here to talk about that attack on the Kingsmen and Midnight Special. Ya see, ese, we’re here to take over. This ain’t like your prissy Social Elite takeover, this ain’t like the standard we are here talk. We will run anyone over who gets in our way. Like these two.
The 323 jump into the ring and they are both carrying lead pipes.
Gemma Foster: Look out!
Perez goes to connect with a shot to the head of Monroe but Noavrra caught him with a back roundhouse kick to the side of the head. Torres grabbed Noavrra and delivered the Gravedigger (Uranage [Bray Wyatt]). Torres turned right into a running forearm from Monroe who then followed it up with Freebird (Running Bulldog). Perez was back up and was dropped with a DDT from the National Champion. Noavrra hit him with Down With The Thiccness (Seated senton)! Torres pulled Perez out of the ring as they regrouped.
Scott Parker: The 323 don’t want any more of these two here tonight.
Monroe started to think about leaving the ring to chase after them but she stopped as she saw Noavrra pick up the National Title. Noavrra looked down at it in her hands with a smile before handing it off to Monroe.
Gemma Foster: I can’t wait until these two meet again!
Earn the Honor
In a backstage segment, Jason Evans and Kaito Hirano were standing by. Jason Evans talked about how, as a real tag team, they didn’t think it was right to stoop below their worth and face off against MLC and Hatchet. In a protest to the Powers, their complaint was heard but MLC and Hatchet would still have a match.
Molly Hatchet & Marilyn Lee Cross Vs. The Crew
Hatchet and Cross were in the ring as the Crew were announced as replacements for the match. Hatchet didn’t seem pleased but Cross just shrugged as she got herself ready with a few stretches in the ring near the corner. Josh Williams started to match as Hatchet insisted going first.
Gemma Foster: I think that Marilyn Lee Cross has something to prove here tonight. She’s looking to send a message and-
At that moment, Josh Williams charged but ran right into Cross’ Mary Go Round (Discus Big Boot)! Cross stomped on Josh as he rolled into his corner and made a tag. Jack jumped into the ring but was rocked with a Catch Your Breath (Striking Spear).
Scott Parker: Marilyn Lee Cross is fired up!
She looked over to Hatchet and turned back to Jack before pulling him up to his feet. She started to lift him for a suplex but he caught her with a knee to the head and came back down to his feet. He jumped up and caught her with a step up enziguri. Cross climbed to her feet and was flipped inside out with a headscissors takedown and she rolled across the ring. She started to get to her feet and Hatchet tagged herself in and flipped over the ropes and caught Jack with the Whiskey Bomb (Superwoman Punch)! Josh was into the ring and blindsided Hatchet with a clubbing blow to the back. He drove her to the mat with a German suplex and rolled to his feet. He looked for a running leg drop but Hatchet moved out of the way. As he sat, Cross was in the ring and connected with the Knee Harvey Oswald (Running Knee to the side of an opponent's head)!
Gemma Foster: Action all over the place!
Jack came flying off the top rope with a double dropkick that took out both Hatchet and Cross before he popped back up to his feet. He wanted his jumping DDT and looked for it as Hatchet stood but she countered into a fisherman suplex! Hatchet locked in her Hurt Locker (Omoplata Submission hold) on Jack. Josh came running over but was pulled in by Cross as she locked in the Hungry Jaws (Dragon Sleeper w/ body scissors). Both Jack and Josh started to tap as the bell rang.
WINNERS: Molly Hatchet & Marilyn Lee Cross
Cross and Hatchet celebrated separately and a clap over the speakers was heard as Sara Logan appeared on the jumbotron.
Sara Logan: Bravo, ladies. You were able to get through the match by working together and looked good doing it. With that said it’s my pleasure to make two more match announcements for Tainted Twilight. Miss Hatchet, you’ll be stepping into the ring and you’ll go one on one with… Tia Santos! The Extreme Championship will be on the line in what is sure to be an exciting match.
Hatchet was excited in the ring as she smiled as Cross shot her a look.
Sara Logan: Miss Cross, don’t you worry. You aren’t being left out by any means. At Tainted Twilight, you step into the ring with the Emperor himself. You’re being given a second chance at the Primetime Championship against Daniel Daemon. Good luck to both of you.
Unscheduled Changes
It was announced that AJ Adams was not cleared to compete due to coming into contact with someone who was ill and, as a precaution, was staying away from the Warehouse for a period of time to allow a COVID test to come back and it had not before the start of the show.
Searching pt II
We were moments away from the main event as we got a shot of Sara Logan in her office as she watched the show. There was a knock at her door.
Sara Logan: It’s open.
No one answered but there was another knock. Logan walked over to the door and opened it and posted on the door was a picture of Lacy Nelson with “Lost? Or finally found?” written on it. She looked around but no one appeared around as she walked around. She went walking down the hallway as someone slipped into her office and the door shut behind them.
FM Young Vs. Tia Santos
It was time for the main event and Santos came out with her Extreme Title in her hand and held it high before entering the ring. Young came to the ring, sans title, as she had left it with Macbeth earlier in the week. She entered the ring and the fans were cheering for this one. Santos and Young circled each other and finally locked up. Young had the power advantage and used it as she flipped Santos down with a hip toss. Santos rolled right to her feet and smiled and shook it off. She offered to lock up with Young and Young smiled and agreed. Just as they went to lock up, Santos landed a hard chop to Young! Young grabbed her chest and walked away as Santos offered her a chance to return the chop.
Gemma Foster: These two champions are going to look to one up each other here tonight.
Young came back and landed a vicious chop to Santos that forced her backwards as she grabbed her chest. It was Young’s turn to offer a return chance but Santos came back with a hard forearm to the face. Young came back with her own forearm before Santos then landed an uppercut. The two exchanged blow for blow before Santos pulled Young down with an armdrag and locked in an armlock. She tried to pull the arm from the shoulder but Young flipped around and rolled to her feet. She pulled Santos in with a short-arm clothesline. Young pulled the Extreme Champion into position and looked for a powerbomb but Santos took her down with a headscissors. She pulled Young up and tried to send her into the corner but young reversed it. Santos ran up the turnbuckle and looked for the Vela en la Noche ([Candle in the Night] Tia either climbs or runs up the turnbuckle (depending on the pace of the match) and performs a Whisper In The Wind leap off the top. She comes down onto her opponent’s shoulders and nails a hurricanrana.) but Young countered it into a powerbomb. Young rolled Santos backwards and she got to her feet which allowed Young to hit the Man-Machine Interface (Discus Clothesline).
Scott Parker: Santos was just flipped inside out!
Young looked for a cover but barely got two as Santos kicked out. Young started to pull Santos into position for the Human Error Processor (Assault Driver) but Santos countered into a DDT. Young got to her feet and Santos popped to her feet as well. Young tried to send her into the ropes but Santos countered with a handspring pele kick! Santos measured Young up as she stood and hit her with a big chick kick to the head. Santos climbed to the top turnbuckle as Young started to stand. Santos jumped and connected with a meteora as she crashed down onto Young and kept rolling forward up to her feet. She jumped up to the opposite turnbuckle and young slowly got to her feet. Santos had her back to Young and just jumped backwards and crashed down onto her (Coffin Drop). She covered and got two before Young kicked out.
Gemma Foster: What a series there from Tia Santos.
Santos started to pull Young into position for the Beso de Muerte ([Kiss of Death] Dream DDT) but Young spun out. Young spun Santos around and connected with a cutter. Young pulled Santos up and looked for another Man-Machine Interface but Santos ducked it. Young turned around and was clotheslined over the top rope as she landed on the floor. Santos climbed to the top and wanted her Muerta Caída ([Dead Drop] Basically just a Torpedo Plancha that she performs anywhere from the turnbuckle to the outside to a high point down onto her opponent) but Young moved out of the way as Santos came crashing down. Young pulled Santos up and rolled her into the ring and followed. Santos got to her feet but was clearly feeling the effects of missing the move. Young hit her with the Heart of a Phoenix (Lumbar Check) and covered for the victory.
WINNER: FM Young
The crowd cheered on both competitors as the match ended. Young celebrated in the ring as Santos started to stir. Young offered her a hand up and the two shared just a brief handshake as Santos snatched her title and rolled out of the ring.
Gemma Foster: Tia Santos clearly disappointed in the loss here tonight but she put on one hell of a match, Scott.
Scott Parker: She took FM Young to the limit tonight.
Young celebrated as Tainted Twilight was hyped up by Parker and Foster and the show came to a close.
