Episode #22 - June 14, 2016
The show begins with Audrey Azarov coming to the ring to explain her husband's actions. She explains that although Macbeth helped bring him back from the brink, Raza wanted to continue to fight. Audrey did not approve so she left him, which caused him to relapse.
Emperor Ian took on Storm in a singles contest. Storm came out quick and hit a lot of hard elbows to the head and took Ian down with a hurricanrana. Ian tried to find his footing but was dropped on the mat with a sitout faceslam. Storm tried to lock Ian up for a dragon suplex but Ian countered with a jawbreaker and then delivered the Heretic's Fork (Crooked Head Scissor Lock). Ian tried to pull Storm down to an armbar but he was able to flip out and away from Ian. Storm lifted Ian up for Dystopia (GTS) but Ian grabbed onto the top ropes and was flipped to the apron. Ian hit a hard elbow to the back of Storm’s head and climbed into the ring before locking in the Imperial Conquest (Reverse Crucifix Armbar with Neck Submission) and forced a submission.
Next up saw Riley Rouse and Mighty Jo Young talking to Wade Mason backstage. Wade informed them he had yet to pick who would face the Freaks with Benefits at Next Level Affliction.
We had singles action next as Sofia Harms and Alex Zion went one on one. Harms opened things up with a hard forearm shot to the face of Zion. Zion returned with his own forearm to the face and then an elbow to the back of her head as he pushed her down. He dropped his knee on the back of her head and went into a cover for just little more than one. Harms got to her feet and ducked an incoming discus clothesline and delivered a Russian Legsweep. They both got to their feet and he applied a front facelock as he was looking for the Iconic Uppercut (Front facelock, transitioned into a swift European uppercut) but she spun away. She jumped up and hit the Cat Pounce (Lou Thesz Press) and hit a flurry of lefts and rights. Harms pulled Zion to his feet and hit the Doom Tornado (Discus Double Ax handle) and covered, picking up her first victory.
The Spectres returned to EW action as they took on Jewcha Libre. The Haters were ringside during the match to watch the two teams compete. Fantastico and Rouse started things off and exchanged some wrestling takedowns. Rouse started to focus on some power moves and slammed Fantastico to the mat multiple times with slams. Fantastico hit a running dropkick and was able to make a hot tag. Jew Blazer started to tangle with Rouse before she hit him with the Sonic Screwdriver (Spinning Neck Breaker). Young tagged in and hit the ropes before hitting Jew Blazer with Caught Up (Spear). Chris and Zach Marshall of the Chi-Town Connection made their way to the ring and began to brawl with the Haters. DeLuca tossed Chris Marshall into the ring and followed after him. Young hit DeLuca with the Young Gun (AA Spine Buster) but was then hit with Chris’ Deep Dish (Rock Bottom) and the referee tossed out the match. Things quickly turned into an all out brawl as trainers rushed down to try and separate the teams.
Austin Boonchan, Cody Williams, and Martin Karloff competed in a triple threat match next. Karloff and Williams seemed focused on each other at the start of the match and they exchanged blows. Boonchan snuck in and hit Karloff with a lungblower. Williams tried to pull a fast one on Boonchan by pulling him down with a school boy pin but Boonchan kicked out. Williams ducked a clothesline and hit Boonchan with a blue thunder bomb. He rolled to his feet and turned into Karloff blasting him with a hard forearm to the face. Karloff looked for a suplex but Williams countered into one of his own. Williams was fired up and hit Boonchan with Pure Perfection (Spinning sit-out double underhook facebuster). Williams thought he had the match won but Karloff broke up the pin attempt. Karloff pulled Williams to his feet and connected with the Ritual Disembowelment (Firemans Carry Gutbuster). He stood but Boonchan quickly dumped him out of the ring. Boonchan grabbed Williams and connected with THE Piledriver (Double underhook piledriver). He started to climb to the top ropes but Karloff jumped to the apron and pushed him off and he landed on the mat. He jumped to the top ropes but Williams was up and ran up the corner and hit a Samoan drop off the top ropes to Karloff. Williams went to cover but Boonchan took Williams down with a crucifix pin and got a big victory.
In the back Audrey Azarov was seen with Wade Mason and she questioned his decision to book Raza in a handicap match. She begged him to terminate Raza’s contract and to just end it. Mason said he would take it into consideration but that tonight he would teach Raza a lesson, the match was on.
Billy Way stood in the ring for his match as Krista May Williams rushed to the ring. She was upset over Way’s vicious assault on her girlfriend, Kayla Taylor. Williams tossed Way out of the ring and chased after him. He pushed her into the steel steps and started to laugh. He hit her with a few kicks as she was seated against the steps. He got a running start and looked to drive his knee into her head but she was able to roll out of the way and his knee bounced off the steps. Williams jumped onto Way and she started to land right hands before being pulled off by referees. Way laid on the ground laughing as we went to break.
Jack Smith and Jacob Wilson of the London Express cut a promo during the break that it was time to send a message to the world and EW that they’ve come to claim the EW Tag Team Championship and return it to London, a place of respect, not like the dirty rat hole of New York. “Arcarsenal” by At the Drive-In hit and Raza Azarov made his way to the ring. He stood between Smith and Wilson before turning and charging Wilson, hitting the Singularity (Helluva Kick). He got back to his feet and caught Smith with a powerslam before popping back up to his feet. He took turns landing blows to Smith and Wilson before delivering a death valley driver to Smith. Wilson charged but got rolled up into Salem’s Lot (Calf Slicer) and he was forced to tap for an easy win for Azarov. Azarov didn’t break the hold and Wilson was in a lot of pain before Smith started to approach. Azarov broke the hold and got to his feet before hitting Smith with the Calamity (KENTA Rush). He went to grab Smith once again and the lights went out and Ben Macbeth appeared on the screen. He had the EW Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder and spoke to Azarov. He agrees to face Azarov and says that their bond is broken, and soon Azarov will be too.
In the main event of the evening we saw Bailey Mayhew take on Casey Grey. Just before the match it was announced that Ursula Areano would be getting her rematch for the Primetime Championship against Casey Grey on July 26 at Next Level Affliction. Mayhew and Grey locked up to start things and Grey took an early advantage with by driving her knee into Mayhew’s gut and delivered a gutbuster. She quickly tried to lock in the Bitch Muzzle (Crossface Submission) but Mayhew was able to slip away and out of the ring to regroup. Mayhew climbed back into the ring and had to duck a clothesline and hit Grey with Brain Damage (Chris Hero's Death Blow). They two went back and forth with various holds and slams before Mayhew started to get momentum once again. She started to set up for Into the Sunset (Asai DDT) but Grey countered into Trust Me (Cobra Clutch/Single Knee Backstabber). Grey pulled Mayhew up and started to set up for the Racklash (Rack Attack) but Mayhew slipped behind her. Mayhew delivered hard elbows to the back of Grey’s head and hit her with the Lockjaw (Osaka Stunner) and covered for a shocking win. Mayhew couldn’t believe she won the match as Grey slowly got to her feet. Grey was handed the Primetime Championship and gave a small clap towards Mayhew before leaving the ring and ending the show.
