Episode #23 - June 28, 2016
Ursula Areano Vs. Alex Zion
Areano started off the show by standing in the ring and talked about how she was on a path to once again defeat Casey Grey and become Primetime Champion. She was cut off by Alex Zion making his way to the ring for their match. Zion snatched the microphone from Areano and shouted that he be taken more seriously and that he wanted what was his. Areano had heard enough and hit him with the Argentina Train (Elijah Express) and then quickly pulled him into a cover for a victory.
Gio DeLuca Vs. Chris Marshall Vs. Riley Rouse Vs. Jew Blazer
DeLuca made his way out first, making sure to talk trash about his competitors before they came out. Marshall had heard enough and attacked from behind. Rouse and Jew Blazer ran out and watched as DeLuca and Marshall exchanged blows and were finally pulled apart. Wade Mason came out and booked The Haters, Chi-Town Connection, The Spectres, Jewcha Libre, and the Freaks with Benefits in a “Total Turmoil” tag team match. All five teams would be in the ring and would compete in an over the top rope elimination match, where if one member of a team was eliminated the entire team was, down to the final two teams where the match would turn into a traditional tag team match.
Azurine Vebbins Vs. Emperor Ian
Ian and Vebbins competed in a tightly contested match that was a lot of back and forth holds and slams. Vebbins looked for a bulldog late in the match but was pushed through the second ropes to the floor as she jumped, landing hard. She got up slowly but was able to make the count and enter the ring to avoid being counted out. Ian looked for a belly to belly but Vebbins countered into a small package and the fans thought she had the three count but Ian had a hand on the bottom ropes to break the hold just in time. Vebbins started to land her Sweetheart Sockhop by hitting two knees to Ian’s sternum but Ian dodged the superkick and Vebbins kicked the referee right in the jaw. She turned back to Ian and caught him with an open palm strike and finished off her finisher with the pull in DDT. She covered but the referee was down. The crowd was going crazy as Vebbins was pulled to her feet and Scott Parker pointed out AXW superstar Caitlin Shay in the ring. Shay hit Vebbins with her Shayplex (Half Dragon Half Tiger Suplex) and began to scream at her. Foster ran down Vebbins defeating Shay the night before at the BWF vs. AXW show and Shay was clearly not taking it lightly. Shay pulled Vebbins back up and hit her with Broken Ending (Wheelbarrow Driver) before leaving. Ian crawled over to Vebbins and covered as the referee came to and made the count. After the match, Shay entered the ring again and stood over Vebbins.
Chris Vector Vs. Misha LeCavalier
Vector tried to come out with quick blows but LeCavalier saw an opening and caught him with a vicious rolling elbow to the face. Vector started to try and battle back but seemed dazed and his nose started to bleed. The referee checked on him and Vector pushed him away. Vector looked for a hard clothesline but LeCavalier counted into On The Other Side of Grace (Seated Fujiwara Armbar) and forced a submission for the victory.
Billy Way & Cody Williams Vs. Freaks with Benefits
The Freaks were in the ring and Billy Way walked out to the stage and announced that the match would not be taking place, having “better things to do than to compete against two nobodies” and “already beating down Kayla a few weeks ago”. Williams went to chase after him but was held back by Taylor as we went to break.
Austin Boonchan Vs. Martin Karloff
The fans were fully behind Karloff as the match was set to start. He and Boonchan locked up and neither could get an upper hand. Boonchan was able to pull Karloff into a snap suplex and rolled into a cover for just one. The two men locked back up and went blow for blow as the fans were eating it up. Boonchan tried to pull Karloff up for a GTS but Karloff struggled and rolled off the shoulders of Boonchan. Karloff ducked a clothesline and hit the Sine Oculus (Pele Kick). Karloff pulled Boonchan up and into position and hit the first powerbomb of the Grindhouse Double Feature (Double Powerbomb). He readied his feet and lifted Boonchan up for the second powerbomb but Boonchan countered into a headscissors takedown. Boonchan pulled Karloff up and connected with a pullback neckbreaker. Boonchan went to the top ropes and looked for the Elbow and Arrow (Frog splash transitioned into an elbow drop) but Karloff rolled out of the way. Karloff shouted “scream for me!” to the fans as Boonchan staggered up. Karloff connected with the Spinal Remains (Vertabreaker) and covered for a victory.
Last Man Standing
Raza Azarov Vs. Ben Macbeth
The fans were buzzing for the main event as Macbeth held his title close despite the match being non-title. He showed it off to Azarov as Wade Mason made his way down to ringside to sit with Foster and Parker to watch the match. As soon as the bell sounded the two men came to blows and Macbeth backed Azarov into the corner. Azarov grabbed Macbeth and flipped him into the corner and began to unload with lefts and rights. He connected with a hard clothesline before hitting a hip toss to Macbeth. Macbeth rolled to his feet and dusted himself off. Macbeth hit a series of hard open palm strikes that seemed to daze Azarov. Macbeth hit his combo for oil & Trouble (Combo; Knee Kicks, Spinning Back Kick, Leaping Knee, Spinning Backfist) and readied himself. He looked for From Parts Unknown (360 Buzzsaw Kick) but Azarov ducked it and stood quickly before hitting a German suplex. Azarov took control of the match and continued to slam Macbeth to the ground but Macbeth kept answering the 10 count. Azarov sent Macbeth into the corner and hit a brutal Singularity (Helluva Kick). Macbeth seemed to be out but was able to just make the 10 count, using a full 9 before getting to his feet. Macbeth hit a charging Azarov with a drop toe hold and then followed it up with the From Parts Unknown. Macbeth fell into the ropes and watched Azarov fall forward. The referee made his count and got to 9 just as Azarov got to his feet. Azarov dropped Macbeth with a clothesline but the Champion climbed to his feet and speared Azarov into the corner. The two men exchanged blows as they pulled each other to the top ropes. Macbeth hit a series of headbutts that seemed to daze both men. Macbeth hit Azarov with a big German suplex off the top ropes and both men were down, unable to make the 10 count.
After the match Mason stood and seemed upset at the no contest ending. The fans booed as Billy Way ran down to the ring and slid in. Way pulled Azarov up and hit him with The Billy Way (Swinging Reverse STO). Macbeth was able to get himself to his feet and walked right into the Billion Dollar Kick (Roundhouse Kick). Way left the ring and snatched the EW Heavyweight Championship and held it up before leaving with it, everyone stunned as the show ended.
