Episode #100 - July 23, 2023
Scott Parker: Welcome everyone to episode 100 of Empire Wrestling’s HYPE! It’s my honor to welcome every single one of you watching here tonight. We here at Empire Wrestling thank you for being with us on this ride. Tonight, we have an amazing show in store for you.
Gemma Foster: We sure do, Scott. Our main event will feature the Primetime Championship as Lacy Nelson defends for the first time since winning it at Next Level: Revolution as she takes on Melody Slayton! Melody would love nothing more than to be the one to make a headline of her own tonight, Scott. The Primetime Championship has seen some amazing matches and tonight should be no different.
Scott Parker: Our Extreme Champion is also in action as Kamila Rose puts the title on the line as she looks to defeat the former champ, Manic, in a rematch from Next Level: Revolution. Kamila Rose has been a fierce competitor throughout her stays in Empire Wrestling and she’s going to be looking to capture that first title defense.
Gemma Foster: I wouldn’t count Manic out just because she’s so unpredictable, Scott.
Scott Parker: Also, we’ll learn who the number one contender to the Spartan Championship is after a battle royal!
Gemma Foster: I want this one, Scott. Tonight, it’s AJ Adams versus Emily Corlen! The history behind these two is enough to fill books and both AJ and Emily will look to add to the next chapter! This is one I have been looking forward to all week.
SPARTAN CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER BATTLE ROYAL
AJ Jenkynz Vs. Samantha Hamilton Vs. Austin Scott Vs. Harper Blake Vs. Kayla Taylor Vs. Gio DeLuca
All six competitors stood in the ring as the show began and the fans were ready for action. Everyone looked around the ring as the bell sounded and we were under way. The two started to brawl around the ring and Blake and Taylor quickly paired off and came to blows with each other. Taylor tried to dump Blake out of the ring but Gio DeLuca ran over and flipped them both over but they landed on the apron. He turned to run the ropes and ran into Jenkynz hitting him with a roundhouse kick! DeLuca staggered and Jenkynz clotheslined him over the top rope and DeLuca smashed his face off the apron and fell to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Gio DeLuca
Samantha Hamilton and Austin Scott were fighting around the ring as the two tried to overpower each other. Hamilton tried to lift Scott up with a backdrop but he hit a facebuster onto his knee. Scott lifted Hamilton and connected with a spinebuster! He popped back up and Jenkynz dropped him with a springboard cutter! Blake ran over and rocked Jenkynz with Future Sight (V-Trigger)! Jenkynz stumbled and fell over the top but held on. Taylor ran over and grabbed Blake before dumping her over the top rope!
ELIMINATED: Harper Blake
Blake jumped on on the apron as the referees had to pull her back down as Taylor laughed.
Scott Parker: There's still no love lost between Taylor and Blake. Lots of bad feelings across the ring in this match.
DeLuca grabbed onto Jenkynz foot, who was still on the apron, and tried to pull him down. Jenkynz kicked him off but was hit with a big clothesline from Hamilton as she knocked him off!
ELIMINATED: AJ Jenkynz
Jenkynz and DeLuca brawled around the ring as referees escorted them up the ramp.
Scott Parker: Gio DeLuca just helped cost AJ Jenkynz a shot at the Spartan Championship and we’re down to three!
Gemma Foster: Taylor, Scott, and Hamilton are all circling each other. Which one is going to walk out of here with a shot at the Spartan Championship!?
We get a shot of Jenna Jillian Walker watching backstage with the Spartan Championship resting on her shoulder. Back in the ring, Taylor and Scott started to work together to try and lift Hamilton out of the ring but she’s able to hold onto the ropes and won’t go over. She started to fight back and kicked Taylor in the gut then clubbed Scott across the back. She hit a clothesline on Taylor and turned back to Scott. Hamilton ran and connected with a big boot to the face as the fans “ooh’ed” at the sound that came from it. Taylor snuck up behind Hamilton and hit Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes)! Taylor started to pull Hamilton up but struggled to get her over the top. Hamilton landed on the apron and held on as she pulled herself up. Taylor charged and was lifted up and over by Hamilton and both were on the apron. Taylor swung and missed wildly, allowing Hamilton to lock in her EXILED TO TARTARUS (Sleeper Hold)! Taylor started to slip and passed out before Hamilton dropped her like dead weight as she fell to the floor.
ELIMINATED: Kayla Taylor
Scott Parker: We’re down to Hamilton and Scott!
Hamilton fell back into the ring through the middle and top ropes. She started to stand but was hit with Scott’s Straight Whiskey (Running lariat)! He pulled her up and lifted her for his Ace in the Hole (Rikishi Driver). Hamilton struggled and slipped behind him. She turned him and landed a kick to the gut and set up for Wrath of the Titans (Pedigree). Scott was able to backdrop her over the top and she held on once again. She reached over and grabbed him by the hair and pulled him over the top rope to the apron. She tried to lock in Exiled to Tartarus but Scott ran her backwards into the corner. He tried to lift her for Ace in the Hole but she blocked it with shots to his head. She jumped up with a pump kick and clocked him in the face. Scott staggered and Hamilton hit the Wrath of the Titans on the apron! Scott rolled off the landed on the floor below!
WINNER: Samantha Hamilton
Gemma Foster: She did it! Samantha Hamilton is moving on to face Jenna Jillian Walker for the Spartan Championship!
Hamilton climbed back into the ring and celebrated by having her hand raised.
Scott Parker: What a start to the night!
With a Chip on Her Shoulder
The 100th episode of Hype moves backstage, where a fiercely determined Melody Slayton is standing by, fire in her eyes as she stares down the camera.
Melody Slayton: Lacy Nelson. Earlier this week on social media, you accused me of having a chip on my shoulder. At first, I felt like I should be offended by that… but the more I thought about it, the more I realized… you're right! I absolutely DO have a chip on my shoulder. But here’s the thing, Champ; that so-called “chip” is not a weakness - it's my greatest strength!
The fans cheer as Melody continues.
Melody Slayton: When I first stepped foot into this business, despite my last name, I wasn’t handed a darn thing. No, I scratched and clawed for EVERYTHING I earned. I faced countless trials. I overcame EVERY obstacle in my path. That “chip” you mentioned? It represents the struggle I went through, the determination I carry deep inside, and the heart and soul that I bring to every single match I compete in!
Her gaze sharpens.
Melody Slayton: The difference between you and me, Lacy, is that when I go out there, I’m not just fighting for myself. I'm fighting for each and every one of these amazing fans who have stood by my side since day one! I'm fighting for everyone like me - the dreamers, the underdogs, and everyone who refuses to back down when a bully gets in their way!
Another loud cheer from the Empire Wrestling faithful.
Melody Slayton: So tonight, when I step into that ring with you, I will channel that “chip” into the will to push through every bit of pain and exhaustion. My “chip” is the driving force that will propel me to victory! My spirit is unbreakable, and tonight, you’re going to catch that smoke firsthand, whether you want it or not!
She smiles, her gaze softening, if only a little.
Melody Slayton: Despite our differences, Lacy, I do respect you as a competitor, and I know you'll put up a hell of a fight. But you need to know that your time as EW Primetime Champion is about to come to an end, because the simple fact is, your reign’s death certificate was signed the moment you got put up against me.
Melody grins as the fans cheer once more.
Melody Slayton: Tonight, in front of every last incredible fan inside the Empire Warehouse and everyone watching around the world, I will prove that the “chip on my shoulder” - the power of heart, determination, and my absolutely unyielding will to succeed - will ALWAYS overcome anything you can throw at me.
One final pause.
Melody Slayton: Tonight, YOUR empire crumbles, and a new one begins! The empire of Melody Slayton, the NEW EW Primetime Champion!
The arena erupts with cheers as Melody grins. The camera focuses on the challenger for a few more moments before shifting back to ringside for more action on Hype.
SAY HER NAME. Champion.
Standing in the ring is EW’s Director of Operations, Tom Carr. Beside him is a stand that is covered with a red cloth.
Tom Carr: Ladies and gentlemen, YOUR EMPIRE WRESTLING WORLD CHAMPION… MARILYN. LEE. CROSS!
The fans roar as Cross starts to make her way to the ring with the title around her waist. She makes her way to the ring and stands on the apron and takes it all in.
Scott Parker: Marilyn Lee Cross’ climb to the top of Empire Wrestling has been nothing short of legend.
Cross climbed inside and showed the title to the crowd. She shook Tom Carr’s hand as he was ready to speak.
Tom Carr: 100 episodes of EW’s Hype have all led to this moment. Cross, you put a lot on the line when you vacated the Primetime Championship for a shot at this championship. That championship you hold has been defended time and time again. It’s beat up. Tonight, I want to present to you a brand new EW World Championship.
Carr removes the cloth and reveals a new championship belt. Streamers fire off as Cross takes the title and looks down at it with a smile.
Gemma Foster: What a moment, Scott.
EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP
Manic Vs. Kamila Rose (c)
The Extreme Champion, Kamila Rose, came out to the stage first as she showed off the title by raising it over her head. She started to walk her way down to the ring and looked in a couple of the trash cans scattered around the ring as we’re accustomed to in these matches.
Gemma Foster: Here comes Kamila Rose! I love the quiet confidence she brings to the ring, Scott.
As Rose walks around the ring, someone reaches over the barricade and pulls her into the crowd!
Scott Parker: Who in the-?
Manic popped up and started to land wild punches on the champion as she appeared from almost nowhere. The referee rang the bell and the match started! Manic kicked Rose in the gut and clubbed her in the back as she started to walk away. They fought through the fans and Rose grabbed a bucket of popcorn and hit Manic in the face with it as the crowd popped. Rose speared Manic into the barricade and then tackled her, going up and over it back to the floor around the ring.
Gemma Foster: This is a wild start!
Rose pulled Manic up to her feet but Manic quickly grabbed her by the hair and bounced her face off the apron. Manic rolled her into the ring and tossed in one of the trash cans full of items and climbed into the ring. Rose started to stand as she rubbed her jaw and was hit with a dropkick that sent her across the ring and back first into the corner. She tried to charge at Manic but Manic took her down with a slingblade. Manic screamed as she pulled Rose up and delivered her Insane in the Membrane (Kneecap Brainbuster). Manic went into a cover and got two before Rose kicked out. Manic stalked Rose as she started to stand. Manic looked for a punt kick to the head and Rose dodged it as she stood. Manic turned and was hit with a suplex and pulled right back up. Rose delivered a Northern Lights Suplex and bridged into a pin for two. Rose pulled Manic up and sent her into the corner. She charged and hit a big corner knee and then delivered a bulldog. Manic started to stand and Rose looked for a headscissors takedown but Manic countered as she delivered a powerbomb. Manic pulled at her hair and then grabbed Rose off the mat. Rose pushed Manic away and was able to hit her with a belly to belly slam.
Scott Parker: Kamila is starting to build some momentum here. She’s got Manic on the ropes.
Rose emptied the trash can of its contents and placed the trashcan in the middle of the ring. Manic was up and Rose tried to hit a suplex but Manic hit a knee to the head and landed on her feet. Manic hit the ropes and looked for Splitting Headache (Bicycle Knee Strike) but Rose dodged it. Rose delivered the Twisting Vines (Sunset Flip Powerbomb) onto the trash can! She covered and picked up the pinfall win!
WINNER AND STILL EW EXTREME CHAMPION: Kamila Rose via pinfall @ 14:21
Rose celebrated in the ring for a moment before being handed the title and rolling out of the ring.
Scott Parker: A huge title defense there for Kamila Rose as she’s able to retain the Extreme Championship over Manic.
Gemma Foster: Who is going to be next to step up to Kamila Rose!?
Happy 100th
The camera fades in as FM Young stands in the center of the wrestling ring with a microphone in her hand as she had come out to hype the crowd during commercial. The crowd cheers loudly as she begins to speak.
FM Young: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 100th episode of Hype! Oh, it's a milestone we've reached, and I couldn't be prouder to be standing right here, right now, representing Empire Wrestling!
The crowd chants "FM Young! FM Young!"
FM Young: Thank you, thank you! Now, let me tell you something, Empire Wrestling is not just any promotion. It's a place that has given me the opportunity to showcase my passion, my heart, and my love for this incredible sport!
The crowd claps and cheers for the Tiger.
FM Young: With that said… Lacy Nelson, oh, Lacy, you and I have been through battles that have left us both bruised and battered. But you know what? Every time we step into that ring, it's magic. Our rivalry is fueled by mutual respect and the desire to be the very best! Lately, you’ve been riling me up. Ducking me, even, some might say…I will say it. I get it, it’s a new belt for you and you don’t want to lose it so soon. Yeah. I understand that but don’t think I won’t be coming after it, I’m letting the kids have their fun with the glory of the big belt. But doesn’t mean I have to be goldless, it doesn’t mean I gotta sit by. Nope, I’m officially on the hunt again. Like the predator I am, all the other champions can be on notice from here on out. I have my goals after all.
The audience roared their approval, and FM played into it spinning in the ring with her arms spread wide for the crowd, showing off her impressive build and playing it up.
FM Young: And then, there's my crew! The people who have my back through thick and thin. Dave Slayton, Melody Slayton, and the one and only Gabe Shelly! Who helped found Empire Wrestling and who I will see later at BWF Legacy 2! Good luck with the belt buddy. The Sovereign’s always been my personal favorite. These guys are more than friends; they're family to me. I love working with them and I look forward to being here, for 100 more episodes of Hype!
FM Young: That's right, we've laughed together, cried together, and fought together. And together, we have made Empire Wrestling our home, a place where we can unleash our talents and create moments that'll be etched in history!
Once again, the crowd cheers for their fan favorite and The affable Effy leans into the ropes, with a grin and a wink.
FM Young: And to you, the incredible Empire Wrestling fans, none of this would be possible without your unwavering support! You've been there for us since day one, cheering us on, pushing us to be better, and making every match an unforgettable experience!
Crowd cheers and waves signs in the air for their favorite wrestlers, including the current Champions.
FM Young: So, on this monumental occasion, let's celebrate the spirit of Empire Wrestling, the spirit of competition, and the spirit of camaraderie! And Lacy, if you're watching, get ready because the next time we face off, it's going to be something they'll talk about for ages!
The crowd simmers with anticipation, a light murmur running around the warehouse.
FM Young: As we continue this journey together, with each passing episode of Hype, we'll keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible in that ring. Empire Wrestling, you've given me a platform to live my dream, and for that, I'll be forever grateful!
The crowd chants "Thank you, FM Young! Thank you, FM Young!"
FM Young: Hey, it’s not me. I didn’t make this place, but I sure do love it. It’s a passion project for me and a place I’m here for the long haul. A place I definitely see as the one to hit all the goals before I end my storied career. So, to all my fans, my crew, and Empire Wrestling, let's make this 100th episode of Hype the start of something even greater. We've only just begun!
FM Young drops the mic and raises her arms as the crowd goes wild, celebrating the love and passion that binds them all together in Empire Wrestling. The One Woman Army lets her music play her out, as the commercials come in.
Missy Propaganda Vs. Chelsea LeClair
Missy Propaganda made her way down to the ring for the next match as the fans cheered her on.
Scott Parker: Missy has looked impressive since her debut and definitely has a bright future if her first couple matches have shown us anything.
Gemma Foster: Yeah but her opponent tonight is coming into tonight’s match feeling very overlooked. You have to believe Chelsea LeClair is wanting to desperately put her name on the map. I saw her blog post earlier this week and she very much feels she should be in the same conversation as the people competing for the shot at the Spartan Championship and I don’t know if I disagree!
Chelsea LeClair came to the stage next and started to make her way down, quickly. She rolled into the ring and quickly popped up and was ready to compete without a lot of showmanship before the match. The two competitors locked up to kick things off and LeClair took her opponent down with a hip toss. Propaganda rolled right to her feet and took LeClair down with a Judo throw. LeClair got to her feet and shook it off as she brushed off her shoulders. They locked back up and LeClair pushed Propaganda into the corner and landed a few strikes to the gut before hitting a chop to the chest. LeClair pulled her out of the corner and sent her into the ropes and hit the opposite ropes and delivered a jumping knee strike to the face. Propaganda fell to a knee and LeClair connected with her Ocean City Crusher (Hurricanrana Driver). LeClair rolled her into position and covered but only got two.
Scott Parker: Chelsea with a great series there.
LeClair sat up and looked at the referee before climbing to her feet. Things slowed down as the two exchanged slow strikes and takedowns. LeClair tried for her Jersey Drop (Diamond Cutter) but Propaganda pushed her away. LeClair turned right into a back elbow strike to the jaw. Propaganda looked for a victory with a small package but LeClair was able to kick out. Propaganda got to her feet and charged the ropes before hitting her Propaganda Bomb (Springboard Flatliner)! She went into another cover and LeClair once again kicked out at two.
Gemma Foster: Chelsea with some fight left in her!
Propaganda pulled down her knee pad and started to measure up LeClair. She charged and LeClair hit the Jersey Drop! LeClair pulled Propaganda into position and hit the corner before delivering CANCELED (Corkscrew Moonsault)! LeClair covered and picked up a pinfall victory.
WINNER: Chelsea LeClair via pinfall @ 12:39
Gemma Foster: Chelsea LeClair is walking out with a win here tonight!
LeClair rolled out of the ring and walked around the ring, high fiving some fans as she made her way to the back.

First Class
The lights dim on Hype as many photos and scenes appear on the jumbotron of Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, and several other landmarks, including the skyline at night. The fans are unsure as the images continue to pass as a limo appears on the screen; its license plate says First Class; after a few moments of seeing the limo pass through the hills and other landmarks, it goes to what looks like a red carpet movie premiere. Then suddenly, the driver comes out and opens the door as the long slender leg of a woman steps out. And as soon as she gets out of the limo, the flash bulbs go off to the point of making the screen bright, as a female voice says.
“WELCOME TO THE VERONICA TAYLOR SHOW!”
The lights then flash brightly throughout the arena and “Cocky AF” by Megan The Stallion also begins to play. A spotlight from a red carpet is rolled out before panning to a platform where the Superstarlet arrives, rising dressed in a tiny fur coat, black designer skirt, a purple top that shows her midriff, and obnoxious Ray Bans. The fans are unsure, though, some booing recognizing the woman, that woman being Veronica Taylor. She has a smug look as she makes her way down from her platform, soaking in the reaction from the crowd. She takes the time to pose for the paparazzi before sauntering down to the ring as if she owns the place, each step with beauty and grace, ignoring the negativity from the fans. In her hands are pictures of herself, headshots as she hands acts like she will hand them out, but then doesn’t as she says to the fans, “Sorry bout it.” The arrogant supermodel soon climbs up the steel steps ordering a stage hand to lower the ropes for her, which he does after being yelled at by the uber diva. She then enters the ring shooing the stage hand away, not even thanking him as she poses in the center of the ring with the lights flashing like spotlights with the sound of cameras being played. As she smirks, knowing the spotlight is all on her, she soon twirls smugly as she pulls out a compact looking at herself smugly, blowing herself a kiss as she says, “So First Class baby.” After that, she closes the compact after checking herself out, knowing her makeup is flawless; she then demands a microphone and gets it once again, rudely blowing off the stage hand as she motions for her music to cut. The fans are all now booing her after that entrance; some do catcalls; however, the Cuban beauty has a smug little smirk on her face; all eyes were now on her, and all of them were about to hear her very first Empire Wrestling address.
Veronica Taylor: The star has arrived! Yes, the new star of Empire Wrestling, the true influencer, has come; welcome to the Veronica Taylor Show, and I am Veronica Taylor, and you may now adore at will!
Veronica motions her hand out smugly, letting the fans give it to her, and do they ever know most of them have made up their mind about the Superstarlet? Giving her a loud adverse reaction, the Hollywood native looks in fake shock as she yells.
Veronica Taylor: I SAID ADORE AT WILL, LOSERS!
The boos only get louder, and the fans pour more hate on the woman who looks at her nails, scoffing, waiting for the malcontents to quiet down. As the Superstarlet soon puts the microphone up to her lips, speaking.
Veronica Taylor: Typical, but whatever, this isn’t about you; this is about who will move the needle for Empire; give this show the desperate shot in the arm it needs; you call this Hype, but what do you have to be hyped about? Nothing like the same old “stars,” the same bland direction, same blah, blah, blah until today; that is because now the Superstarlet has arrived, and soon you will have no choice but to accept that I am the center of the Empire Universe. It may take some time; even you simpletons will be able to figure it out. See, my contract here is loaded with all the perks one could ask for; after all, ask my ex-husband. I am so worth it! By the way, Hi Gianni, miss me?! How's life in the poor house?
Veronica winked toward the camera and blew a kiss smugly; during the proceedings, she pressured and bullied her way into getting most of the money and many other things. Talk about a vindictive woman.
Veronica Taylor: It’s okay; you can be just like them while I continue to live my best life! Now speaking of living the best life, let's talk about Empire Wrestling. As I stated, I look up and down this roster, and it damn sure needs some star power; it needs a star to revolve this whole company around, and what better than me?
Veronica pointed to herself, smirking.
Veronica Taylor: So, two choices: either get in line and accept that the spotlight revolves around me or get left in the dust of obscurity; sorry bout it.
Veronica smugly drops the mic as “Cocky AF” plays over the public address system, as the First Class Superstarlet poses in the center of the ring, as she poses for pictures at a photoshoot.
Scott Parker: Looks like Empire Wrestling was just injected with some attitude.
Gemma Foster: I don’t think she’s going to make friends very quickly, Scott.
WATCH OUR FRIENDS!
Harper Mason Vs. Jason Evans
Scott Parker: Let’s get right into the next match, Gemma.
Harper Mason started to make her way to the ring to a big cheer from the fans as she pointed out to them and she made her way down. She climbed into the ring and awaited her opponent.
Scott Parker: Harper is ready to go but I think we’re all still wondering about who that was that attacked her after her match with Kaito Hirano on the last Hype. She clearly has some sort of attachment to Kaito, Jason Evans, and Dishonor.
Gemma Foster: She did seem to be directing them at the end there.
Jason Evans stepped out to the stage and looked down at Mason. He made it to the ring and jumped on the apron and flipped into the ring. The bell rang and things were ready to go. Things started quickly as Evans looked for a pump kick that Mason dodged. She hit a snapmare and looked for a kick to the chest that Evans quickly had to lay back to duck. He rolled backwards and up to his feet. He grabbed Mason’s hand and hit a chop before running to the corner and walked the ropes before flipping off and taking her down with an arm drag. Mason rolled up to her feet and ducked a clothesline before hitting a hard forearm to the back of his head. Mason hit a spinning back kick to the gut and then took him down with a headscissors takedown. Evans rolled out of the ring and Mason dove feet first through the ropes and took him down with a dropkick!
Scott Parker: Harper just launched Jason into the barricade with that dropkick!
She quickly rolled him into the ring attempted her Sun//Eater (Springboard 450 Splash) as she came off the apron but Evans rolled away. Mason landed on her feet and rolled forward and jumped up before hitting Evans with a hard knee to the face! Mason grabbed Evans and delivered Into The Earth (Ripcord Rolling Elbow). Evans was bent over and Mason delivered the Breakdown (Running Knee Lift into Jumping Hangman’s Neckbreaker)! She went into a cover and at two was pulled out of the ring by Kaito Hirano, the fans booing!
Gemma Foster: Where did Kaito Hirano come from!?
Mason chased Hirano around the ring and he slid under the ropes and right back out the other side. She ran and was rolled up by Evans for two before kicking out!
Scott Parker: Kaito Hirano almost cost Harper Mason the match there!
Evans and Mason were both up and he was able to deliver Fate's Dagger (Falcon Arrow)! Hirano shouted at him in Japanese and Evans went to the top rope. He readied himself and looked for the Overdrive (630 Splash) but crashed and burned as Mason rolled out of the way. She rolled him into a seatbelt pin and he struggled but couldn’t get free as she picked up the win.
WINNER: Harper Mason via pinfall @ 15:19
She quickly rolled out of the ring and Hirano jumped in after her. She smiled and put her arms up in the air
Evans and Hirano regrouped in the ring as Hirano smirked as he watched Mason leave.
Gemma Foster: Harper was able to out smart Jason Evans here tonight but something tells me this isn’t over just yet.
Harper Mason ducks into the back through the curtain and as she starts to walk to the locker room, the female attacker from the last Hype stands there, watching. She smirks as she watches on and turns away before we cut away.
COMING SOON TO PPV
AUGUST 12, 2023 : LIVE FROM KAHUKU, HI!
Untethered. Primetime. Headline.
We come backstage to see our Primetime Champion, Lacy Nelson, sitting in her locker room. The title is placed at her feet as she sits in her gear. She looks down at the title and licks her lips.
Lacy Nelson: Growing up I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life. I got in trouble a lot, lived with a single dad that I always gave a hard time. Growing up in LA, I ran around and found myself at a crossroads as a teen. My dad forced me to find a hobby and got me into wrestling and I fell in love. My dad busted his ass in a warehouse job to make sure I was taken care of and what little money we had left he took me to wrestling shows and wrestling schools when I was in high school.
She finally looks up and scoops down, grabbing the title and places it in her lap.
Lacy Nelson: My first opportunity in wrestling wasn’t handed to me because of who I was or who my dad was. I busted my ass to get to where I am. My chip? My chip is that at every turn no one thought I could do this. The kids in my school would make fun of the weird girl that liked wrestling.
Lacy holds the title up to the camera and stares into it.
Lacy Nelson: Melody, you fight BECAUSE of your dad. I fight FOR my dad. He’s looking down on me right now and is telling me to go out there and be the best me I can be. He’s saying “Lace, go and do the damn thing”. I fight because it’s the only damn thing I know how to do! I go out there and I write headlines. I go out there and I AM the damn headline.
She stands up and puts the title on her shoulder.
Lacy Nelson: Untethered helped me believe in myself again. I am Primetime. I am Lacy Nelson. And tonight it’ll be AND STILL.
Emily Corlen Vs. AJ Adams
Scott Parker: I can’t believe we’re about to call this next match, Gemma.
“The End of Heartache” by Killswitch Engage started to play as the crowd came alive for Emily Corlen’s return to the Warehouse. She stepped out and smiled as she hit a pose on the stage to a pop of fireworks. She started to make her way down and climbed up the turnbuckle and posed again before jumping down and moved around the ring.
Gemma Foster: The crowd is giving Emily a warm welcome here tonight.
There’s just as many cheers as “Lights Out” by POD started to play and AJ Adams jogged out onto the stage. He fired up the crowd as he moved around the stage.
Scott Parker: Here comes AJ!
Adams made his way down to the ring and climbed inside. He and Corlen walked close to each other and shared some words as the referee went over the match.
Gemma Foster: I’d like to think there’s some respect between these two but I don’t know. Their rivalry goes way, way back. Well over a decade.
The bell rang as the two looked around the Warehouse as the crowd buzzed and cheered. Adams pulled Corlen in first and she pushed him off and into the ropes. He came back and was dropped with a shoulder tackle and Corlen looked down with a smile. Adams laughed and rolled away and got back to his feet. They locked up again and this time it was Adams that sent Corlen into the ropes and he looked for a shoulder block but Corlen just stumbled. Adams hit the ropes and ducked a clothesline and delivered a neckbreaker! Adams pulled Corlen up and drove his knees into her chest before hitting a short arm clothesline. Corlen stumbled to her feet and Adams tried to hit a suplex but Corlen blocked it. She grabbed Adams and drove her knee into his gut and flipped him to the mat with a hip toss. Adams got to his feet and the two hit a double clothesline and fell to the mat.
Scott Parker: These two are evenly matched here in the early going!
The fans cheered on as both started to get to their feet. Corlen grabbed Adams and hit a forearm to the face. Adams came back with one of his own but she lit him up with a chop to the chest. Adams walked away and came back with a hard elbow to the face. He grabbed her by the head and hit an uppercut. Corlen staggered and Adams powered her up with the Rough Landing (Kneecap Brainbuster). Adams pulled Corlen to her feet and sent her into the corner. He charged and hit a big corner splash. He looked for a second but she stepped out and countered with a powerslam! Corlen pulled Adams up and sent him into the ropes, driving him to the mat with Spiral Twister (Black Hole Slam) on his way back! Corlen went into a cover and picked up two as he kicked out.
Gemma Foster: Close!
Corlen pulled Adams up to his feet and landed a hard kick to the gut. She started to set up for the Down in Flames (Pedigree) but Adams was able to flip her backwards. She stood and Adams pulled her in for the Legacy Maker (Sister Abigail) but she was able to slip free. Adams looked for a roundhouse kick but Corlen ducked it and countered with the Catalyst (Glam Slam)! Corlen rolled Adams over and pulled his leg back as she sat on his chest, Adams kicking out at two! The fans cheered and Corlen shook her head. She started to pull him up to his feet and was looking for Foregone Conclusion (Skull Crushing Finale) but Adams struggled and wouldn’t let her set it up and got free. Adams jumped up and hit the Last Call (Codebreaker)! Adams rolled Corlen over and got two before she kicked out. He called for the end as he stood and looked out to the crowd.
Scott Parker: He might be thinking Legacy Maker.
Adams pulled Corlen into position but she once again fought free. She was able to counter into the Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust (Lungblower Backbreaker into Curb Stomp). She hit the backbreaker and looked for the stomp but Adams moved just in time. Corlen turned and Adams hit Break Stuff (Stunner)! He was fired up and pulled Corlen into position before delivering the Legacy Maker! Adams rolled Corlen into position and picked up the pinfall win.
WINNER: AJ Adams via pinfall @ 18:13
Adams sat on his knees and looked over at Corlen. He stood and as she came to, he helped her up and gave her a clap before she left the ring.
Scott Parker: That was something special, folks. Run that match back again 100 times and you’d see them each win 50.
Adams left the ring and high fives some of the fans.
A Goodbye
The fans became confused after the match as Scott Parker left the announce desk and climbed into the ring.
Gemma Foster: Uh, folks. I did not know this was happening. I’m not sure what Scott is doing here.
Parker has a microphone and smiles as he looks around the Warehouse.
Scott Parker: This is the first time I’ve ever stood here in this ring in front of all of you. You’re all used to hearing me behind the desk, inside your homes. I asked for this time tonight for a special reason. It has been my absolute honor to call every Empire Wrestling show. But, it is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that tonight, at least for now, will be my final show.
The fans gasp and Parker powers through.
Scott Parker: I have been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and have to step away. I do not want anyone to worry as I’m expected to make a full recovery as they’ve caught it very early. My replacement is going to come in here and tear it up and do all of you proud, I just know it.
Parker waves to the crowd as the cheer him on and he gets choked up. He goes back to the desk and hugs Gemma Foster and the workers around the ring as we go to our final break.
PRIMETIME CHAMPIONSHIP
Melody Slayton Vs. Lacy Nelson (c)
Scott Parker: It’s time for the main event, folks!
Slayton is out first to a big cheer as she runs out to the stage. She points out to the crowd and is clearly fired up as she high fives the hands of her fans down the ramp. She slides into the ring and pops up to her feet. She moved around the ring and jumped to the middle turnbuckle and looked out.
Gemma Foster: Melody Slayton had a lot to say earlier tonight and she’s looking to add another defining moment to her young career!
The crowd pops with a mixed reaction as the Primetime Champion, Lacy Nelson, starts to make her way to the stage. She looks down from her sunglasses with a smile and flashes the title around her waist. She makes her way to the ring and drops her jacket at ringside and rolls into the ring. She gets to her feet and the lights come up. The match is announced and the title is shown. The two get face to face and say a few things to each other. They back up after the bell sounded and lunge at each other with a lock up. They both tried to get the upper hand and pushed into the ropes to force a break. Nelson hit a big chop to the chest as she backed away and the referee gave her a warning.
Scott Parker: Lacy trying to send a message there.
Slayton smirked and rubbed the area of the chop and walked to the middle of the ring. The two locked up and Slayton hit a scoop slam on Nelson and quickly dropped an elbow! Slayton covered for one as Nelson popped up and got to her feet. She gave a nod and smiled as she moved away. The two locked back up and this time, Nelson started to unload forearms to the face of Slayton. She sent her into the corner and landed a big corner clothesline. She backed up and looked for a second but Slayton slipped through the ropes. She grabbed Nelson and hung her over the top rope as she dropped down. Slayton jumped up to the apron and was able to deliver the Flight Risk (Slingshot DDT)! Slayton covered and got two this time as Nelson kicked out. Slayton didn’t waste any time as she pulled Nelson back to her feet and delivered a DDT. She went to the corner and the crowd roared as they knew what was next. Slayton wanted to hit her Glitter Bomb (Panama Sunrise) but Nelson rolled forward and Slayton landed behind her. Slayton turned and Nelson looked for her superkick but Slayton dodged it! Nelson looked for another superkick but Slayton caught it and turned it into an anklelock!
Gemma Foster: Slayton had her scouted!
Nelson trashed around and kept being pulled to the center of the ring. She refused to tap and was able to roll forward and launched Slayton into the corner. Nelson left the ring and grabbed at her ankle and foot. She adjusted her boot and stood, trying to walk it off but clearly had a limp. She looked back to the ring and Slayton looked for a tope suicida but Nelson dodged it and Slayton crashed hard on the floor! Nelson pulled Slayton up and rolled her into the ring and followed, covering for barely two. Nelson took a moment and got to her feet and Slayton was up soon after. Slayton charged but ran into a back elbow to the face. Nelson landed a kick to the gut and delivered the Deadline (Tiger Driver '98)! Nelson was fired up and pulled Slayton up before whipping her hard into the corner. Slayton hit hard and fell into the corner. Nelson roared and slapped her hip before slamming into Slayton with Thunderstruck (Corner Hip Attack)! Nelson pulled Slayton out of the corner and grabbed her legs before flipping over her for a pin, getting two as Slayton kicked out.
Scott Parker: Melody just got her bell rung but was able to kick out.
Slayton shook her head to get rid of the cobwebs as Nelson took a moment. Nelson pulled Slayton up but was pushed away. Nelson tried for another Deadline but Slayton countered into a hurricanrana! Both got to their feet and Slayton the Sonic Rainboom (Poisonrana)! She went to the corner and started to make the climb to the top rope. She pointed to Nelson and dove, hitting a big elbow drop! She covered and Nelson kicked out at two!
Gemma Foster: Melody connects with a big elbow but Lacy is able to get out of it.
Both fighters get to their feet and put their hands up. They start to brawl back and forth as the fans cheer. Nelson stumbles back after a few hard strikes and Slayton rocks her with This Magic Moment (V Trigger)! She steps back and hits another! She wants one more and as she charges, runs into Nelson’s superkick! Both competitors are down as the fans cheer!
Scott Parker: These two are putting it all out there for the sake of the Primetime Championship.
The referee starts his ten count and gets to seven before Nelson is up. Slayton is up at eight and the two stand across from each other once again. Nelson lands a hard right hand and Slayton steps back. She comes back and hits a right hand on Nelson, causing Nelson to stumble. Slayton and Nelson exchange hip tosses and Slayton hits a neckbeaker. She made it to the corner and climbed to the second rung as she waited. Nelson started to stand and turned right into the Glitter Bomb! Slayton rolled Nelson over after crawling back to her and the referee got into position. Slayton got two and Nelson got her foot on the ropes!
Gemma Foster: Nelson somehow getting her foot on the ropes!
Slayton popped up and leaned into the ropes, celebrating as the referee told her it was two. She looked down and saw the foot and quickly tired to cover again and Nelson rolled her up with a small package for two! Both competitors were up and Nelson looked for the Headline (Eat Defeat) but Slayton once again countred into an anklelock! Nelson grabbed the ropes but Slayton pulled her back to the center of the ring and looked as if she was trying to tear the ankle right off. Nelson screamed out and powered to her feet and hit a big enziguri! Nelson stood and was hobbled and tried to plant for the superkick but couldn’t. Slayton hit a superkick of her own! She looked for her shining wizard but Nelson ducked it and rolled Slayton up! The crowd was stunned when Slayton kicked out at two!
Scott Parker: So close!
Both competitors stood and Slayton looked for This Magic Moment but Nelson dodged it. She turned and Nelson hit a superkick! She grabbed her ankle in pain and pulled Slayton up before hitting her Byline (Canadian Destroyer)! She rolled Slayton over and covered, getting a wild three count.
WINNER AND STILL EW PRIMETIME CHAMPION: Lacy Nelson via pinfall @ 24:53
Nelson laid back as Slayton rolled out of the ring after the match. The referee handed her the title as she sat up and she clutched it.
Scott Parker: That is going to go down as one of the greatest matches in Primetime Championship history. Wow!
Nelson scooted herself over to the ropes and, as she sat on the mat, leaned out and shouted at Slayton. She offered a hand and Slayton accepted as the two shook hands. Slayton left to the back as Nelson sat on the mat and started to take off her boot on her injured ankle. She stood and leaned on the ropes and held the title high as we went off air.
WATCH OUR FRIENDS!

She looked back to the ring and Slayton looked for a tope suicida but Nelson dodged it and Slayton crashed hard on the floor! Both got to their feet and Slayton the Sonic Rainboom (Poisonrana)! She went to the corner and started to make the climb to the top rope. She pointed to Nelson and dove, hitting a big elbow drop!
