Episode #101 - August 6, 2023
Gemma Foster: Welcome ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for tuning into another episode of Empire Wrestling Hype! I’m Gemma Foster and tonight we have one of the largest Hype’s we’ve ever seen. I first want to send best wishes to my long time broadcast partner, Scott Parker. Scott has been with Empire Wrestling since the very first show on July 7, 2015 as he led the booth for EW’s first Animosity event. We have a full night ahead of us where we’ll see debuts and even the return of the EW World Champion, Daniel Daemon! What does this mean for Marilyn Lee Cross and the interim championship that she won back at Next Level: Revolution? I also have breaking news for all of you as tonight’s bout between Jenna Jillian Walker and Kaito Hirano has indeed been made a triple threat match and Harper Mason will be joining the fray!
Bitch in Da House!
“Chaos” by Hollywood Undead fills the arena and the fans begin to erupt. Serena Riot has made her way to Empire Wrestling! She is all smiles, like it’s her first day all over again. Donning a Green Day shirt with a leather jacket over top and fishnet leggings, she slaps some hands as her black and blue Empire themed face paint stands out. She goes into the ring from the second rope and grabs a microphone.
Serena Riot: Well, shit. So…This is Empire Wrestling, huh? Now, I know what y’all are thinking…And I just have one thing to say right meow. EW…THE BITCH IS HERE!
The crowd cheers and she gets a warm smile.
Serena Riot: Now the question on everyone’s mind is…Why? Why am I here? Well…I mean. Aside from watching my super hot fiance’s butt march around here? I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. A ton of soul-searching and…I need a reboot in ways. I’ve worked alongside some of the best names in pro wrestling. I have my own promotion. I am honored and privileged to host a yearly charity event.
The fans begin clapping at that one as a small “Be The Fight!” chant breaks out, to which Serena smiles and nods her head.
Serena Riot: And with all that I’ve accomplished…Why am I missing out? Empire is home to a lot of things. Empire is home to some amazing matches right here on Hype! Empire Wrestling is home to one of the most hungriest rosters I’ve ever seen! And now…Empire Wrestling is a home…TO THAT BITCH FROM THE!!
She lifts her microphone up as the crowd yells “216” into the microphone. They then explode with cheers. Just then she notices Gemma Foster at ringside and does a little cutesy wave to her.
Serena Riot: Now…Scott Parker was one Hell of a commentator. And I can’t fill his shoes…I can only wear mine. And also I’m going to be eating Oreos behind the desk like a madwoman. Point is, I’m going to do what I can to make you all proud. It won’t be easy. And I’m sure I’m gonna either stutter my words or crunching wayyy too loud on those delicious cookies…But regardless, just like everything I do, I’m going to try my best. So G-Money? Let’s ride!
She rolls out the ring, tossing her leather jacket into the crowd and grabbing on a headset as she sits down at the desk.
Veronica Taylor Vs. Kayla Taylor
Gemma Foster: Welcome to the desk, Serena! We have a debut on the desk along as the one we’re about to see in the ring. Veronica is going to have her hands full with Kayla here tonight.
Kayla Taylor made her way to the ring first as she moved quickly to the ring. She rolled inside and leaned into the ropes and pointed out to the fans.
Gemma Foster: Kayla Taylor has been impressive and is having what might be her best year ever, Serena. She’s even been able to capture gold, including the World Title, over in Limitless Wrestling.
“First Class” Veronica Taylor made her way to the stage as a single spotlight was lit. All the lights went bright and a red carpet rolled down the ramp. She posed at the top of the ramp and made her way to the ring.
Her gSerena Riot: That’s a lot of pomp for someone making their debut!
Veronica climbed into the ring and shouted at the referee to come over and hold the ropes for her as she climbed inside. Kayla rolled her eyes and sat back and watched. The bell rang and Kayla was right on Veronica who backed into the ropes, saying she wasn’t ready for the bell. The referee forces a break and as Kayla walks away, Veronica raked her across the eyes. Veronica ran her nails across the back of Kayla and then drove her knee into her gut. This allowed Veronica to run the ropes and hit Kayla with a running knee lift. Kayla hit the mat and Veronica posed before dropping into a cover for just one.
Gemma Foster: Veronica got Kayla off guard early with a dirty eye rake and has taken advantage of it here in the early going.
Kayla got to her feet and was smacked with a hard chop to the chest. Veronica grabbed Kayla by the hair and tried to whip her but Kayla battled with right hands. A left forearm smash left Veronica stunned for a moment. Kayla grabbed Veronica and delivered a scoop slam before she followed it with an elbow drop. Kayla pulled Veronica off the mat and hammered her with right hands before sending her into the corner. Veronica charged out and Kayla dropped her to the mat with a sidewalk slam. Kayla was fired up as she hit the ropes and delivered the Plan A (Shining Wizard)! Kayla rolled Veronica into a cover and got two before she kicked out.
Serena Riot: What a knee from Kayla! She’s definitely started to turn this thing around in her favor.
Kayla looked around and started to pull Veronica up to her feet but was slammed to the mat as Veronica grabbed her by the hair and jumped up, slamming her face first into the mat. Veronica pulled Kayla up and put her into position before delivering her D-List Remover (Implant DDT). Veronica rolled Kayla over and covered but only got two before Kayla popped her shoulder up. Kayla started to get to her feet and ducked an incoming clothesline. Kayla started to set her up for Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes) but Veronica countered into a small package for a shocking three count!
WINNER: Veronica Taylor via pinfall @ 11:42
Veronica Taylor slipped out of the ring quickly and laughed as she posed at the bottom of the ramp. Kayla looked over in shock.
Gemma Foster: Veronica Taylor stealing one here in her debut against Kayla Taylor.
Serena Riot: Give the girl her props, she got it done!
EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER TOURNAMENT?
Manic? Vs. AJ Jenkynz?
This match was announced to be taking place and as the fans cheered.
Gemma Foster: Who is the next challenger to Kamila Rose and the Extreme Champion? We’ll take steps to that here tonight as we-
The cameras cut backstage as Manic stood over a fallen AJ Jenkynz. She laughed and kneeled beside him.
Manic: No, no. We are not ready for you just yet. We’re undergoing a change and we need time but this should do.
AJ had been split open with a chair shot and Manic covered her hand in his blood and wiped it across her face as she laughed. The lights flickered and she vanished as trainers checked on Jenkynz but he seemed to be okay and alert as he sat up.
Serena Riot: WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?
Gemma Foster: That was Manic. It sounds like Manic is going to toy with AJ before their match. Let’s take a break.
WATCH OUR FRIENDS!
The Crew (Josh Williams & Jack Williams) Vs. Silent Lightning (Zenia Hobbs & Emma Wexler)
Gemma Foster: We’re set for another debut, Serena. This time, in tag team action!
The Crew, brothers Josh and Jack Williams, were in the ring waiting for the match. Zenia Hobbs came to the stage and waited as her partner, Emma Wexler, came out next. The duo smiled and waved out to the fans before entering the ring.
Serena Riot: Let's see what these two teams can do!
Things started with Wexler and Jack and it went fast and furious to start. The two locked up and exchanged a few takedowns and arm drags. Wexler looked for an enziguri that Jack ducked. Jack looked for a roundhouse kick to the head that she was able to duck under. She jumped up and hit a double knee backbreaker. Both teams made a tag as the fans cheered. Josh and Hobbs circled each other and locked up. Hobbs looked for an arm drag but Josh was able to block and hit a German suplex. Josh started to pull Hobbs to her feet and whipped her into his corner. He ran and hit a lifting knee to the face and tagged in Jack. Jack and Josh hit a double suplex in the middle of the ring and started to pull her up. She started to fight back and ran the ropes, Wexler tagging herself in.
Gemma Foster: Blind tag!
Hobbs looked for a crossbody but the Williams brothers caught her. They turned and Wexler came off the top and hit a crossbody as well! Wexler grabbed Jack and used the turnbuckles to deliver a tornado DDT. Jack rolled and sat in the corner. Wexler charged and hit a corner meteora. Wexler made a tag to Hobbs and lifted Jack to his feet and delivered her Dual Twist (Rope Hang Neckbreaker). Hobbs came off the top rope and hit a moonsault! Wexler hit a top con hilo to the outside to take out Josh as Hobbs went for a cover and picked up a pinfall.
WINNERS: Silent Lightning (Zenia Hobbs & Emma Wexler) via pinfall @ 12:03
Gemma Foster: Silent Lightning is here to inject some life into the tag team division!
Hobbs and Wexler had their hands raised in victory before they moved to corners and celebrated and had the fans cheering.
Jenna Jillian Walker Vs. Kaito Hirano Vs. Harper Mason
Walker came to the ring first and held up the Spartan Championship as we got a shot of Samantha Hamilton watching the match backstage, eyeing the Spartan Champion. Harper Mason bounced out to the stage next and pointed out to the crowd. She was halfway down the ramp before being attacked from behind by Kaito Hirano.
Serena Riot: A cheapshot there on Harper Mason! She wanted to be added to this match and it looks like she’s paying for it!
Hirano clubbed Mason in the back and unloaded with a series of punches. Walker jumped out of the ring and met them on the ramp and injected herself into the fight.
Gemma Foster: And here comes Walker!
She dropped Hirano with a clothesline and then grabbed Mason and rolled her into the ring. She climbed inside and the referee rang the bell. Walker deadlifted Mason off the mat and delivered a German suplex. Mason started to get to her feet and Walker tried to lock in her Snap, Crackle, Pop (Cross Face Chicken Wing) but Mason was able to struggle free. She started to hit hard chops to Walker and backed her into the corner. Mason hit a step up enziguri in the corner on Walker before pulling her down and delivered a tornado DDT out of the corner. Mason stood and was taken down by a headscissors from Hirano as he came off the ropes. Walker and Hirano stood and he rocked her with a spinning back elbow. Hirano jumped up and looked to spike Walker with a DDT but she countered into a northern lights suplex.
Serena Riot: What a counter!
Walker bridged into a pin for two as Mason pulled her off. Mason landed hard kicks to the sides of Walker and started to target hard kicks to the chest. Mason ducked under a clothesline and was able to counter into her Into The Earth (Ripcord Rolling Elbow). Walker dropped and Mason was hit with a Blue Thunder Bomb by Hirano! He covered and Mason kicked out right at two. Hirano pulled her up and landed quick knees to her chest. Hirano grabbed Mason and delivered his Saigo no Jōsha [Last Ride] (Fisherman Driver)! Hirano went into a cover and Walker dove and broke it up at two. Hirano and Walker shouted at each other and started to unload hard blows as they sat on their knees.
Gemma Foster: What vicious strikes!
Walker started to get the upper hand as they both stood. Hirano tried to run the ropes and ran right into Walker and she delivered All the way up (Pop Up Powerbomb)! She covered and Hirano was just able to kick out at two. Walker started to stand and Mason came off the top rope with a big dropkick! Mason was fired up and Hirano and Walker were up and the fans popped as Mason delivered a double Crowd Killer (Diamond Cutter) on both Hirano and Walker! Mason rolled Hirano over into a cover and the fans counted as she got a two count, Hirano just kicking out. Mason quickly went to Walker and covered but the Spartan Champion kicked out at two.
Serena Riot: Harper almost had it there twice! She’s got some spunk and this crowd is loving her!
Mason was fired up but was distracted as Jason Evans, Kaito’s partner, jumped on the apron. She ran over and launched him off with a big boot to the face! She turned back to Hirano and looked for a running knee lift but whiffed as he moved just in time. Hirano looked for a school boy roll up but Mason rolled through and countered into a pin attempt of her own but Evans pulled her out of the ring. The two started to fight ringside. Walker grabbed Hirano from behind and locked in the Snap, Crackle, Pop. Hirano struggled for a few moments before tapping out!
WINNER: Jenna Jillian Walker via pinfall @ 14:01
Walker rolled out of the ring and grabbed her Spartan Championship and started to make her way to the back, walking past Evans and Mason brawling.
Gemma Foster: Dishonor has some sort of vendetta against Harper Mason and they won’t let it go!
Evans and Mason fight into the ring and she’s blindsided by the mystery woman that was with Hirano and Evans a few weeks back! She shouted at them in Japanese and started to direct them once again. Hirano brought a chair into the ring and they started to place Mason’s ankle in it.
Serena Riot: I’ve seen this once or twice, Gemma. They’re going to try and break her ankle!
The woman went to the top rope, possibly looking for the same moonsault double foot stomp we saw at Hype 99. The fans cheered as Walker ran down the ramp with a chair of her own and chased off the three members, making the save. She looked down and gave Harper Mason a nod and helped her to her feet before leaving.
WATCH OUR FRIENDS!
Gio DeLuca Vs. “The Dragon” Travis Levitt
Gio DeLuca: You know what I hate!?
Gemma Foster: Oh, lord. Serena, this is Gio. He’s the loudmouth of Empire Wrestling and I’m sorry you have to listen to him on your first day.
Gio DeLuca started to make his way to the ring and spoke into his microphone.
Gio DeLuca: I’ve been here busting my ass. Day in, day out. I put in the work and yet we get ding-a-ling AJ Jenkynz back here and he’s already in the tournament for the Extreme Champion. Then, here I am, fighting some bozo. Dragon? More like draggin’ my-
He’s cut off as Travis Levitt makes his debut and comes out to the stage. He wastes no time and makes his way down to the ring, ready to compete.
Ding Ding Ding
And this match is underway! Both competitors are eyeing each other down as they go for a collar and elbow tie up. Gio instantly turns into a snapmare takedown, and begins to stomp away quick at Travis Levitt. The referee has to separate the two as Gio puts his hands up, claiming innocence. But then he rushes back and begins pummeling away at him. He smirks as he picks him up and tosses him into the turnbuckle and clotheslines him down.He picks up Travis and hits a nice suplex, following it up with a Boston Crab early on. Travis is not in a good spot early on this match. He tries reaching for the ropes but can’t connect. Gio puts more pressure on the hold and right as Travis goes towards the ropes, Gio moves him right back to the center of the ring. Travis eventually uses his momentum and pushes Gio off of him, and Gio takes a dive between the ropes and to the outside of the ring. Travis begins favoring his leg a little bit, but can move around just fine as he gets to a vertical base and follows Gio outside, throwing him into the barricade.
Serena Riot: OUCH! That did not have a lot of give!
Gio goes for a clothesline but Travis ducks under and clips him with a European Uppercut. The referee's count is at 7 and Travis rolls him in the ring and follows right behind him. Travis goes for a quick cover, but only gets a one count. He stays on top of Gio, using forearm strikes on his shoulder.
Travis picks up Gio and whips him into the ropes. He backs up, looking for a body splash but Gio moves out of the way! Travis hits the ropes and turns around, getting greeted by a rake to the eyes from Gio DeLuca! The crowd boos and the ref gives Gio a warning. He shrugs it off, and runs up, giving Travis a bulldog. But Travis doesn’t stay down for too long and hits a running big boot. Gio is down and Travis is now looking to take this match over. He hits a Snap Suplex on Gio, and doesn’t let him get up. Instead, he grabs him and hits a side headlock, making sure to hold him in it for a while. But he doesn’t want to win just yet. Instead, Travis goes to the top rope and nails a Diving Headbutt! The crowd is starting to get hyped and Gio gets to one knee, punching the chest of Travis, creating space. Gio hits the ropes and it proves to be a bad choice as Travis lands PHOENIX TEAR! The Bicycle Knee Strike connects with force!!
Gemma Foster: This might be it for Gio!
He picks up Gio and decides to hit PILLARS OF FLAMES!!! THE KNEELING PILEDRIVER!! Gio is completely out, and Travis backs into a corner, motioning for the end. Right as Gio pops up, Travis runs towards hims with THE RESSURECTION KICK!!! THE CLAYMORE LANDS!!! HE HOOKS THE LEG!

EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER TOURNAMENT
FM Young Vs. Austin Scott
We come back to see our standard trash cans scattered around ringside with various items inside of them.
Gemma Foster: Here we go, Serena. This one should be as hard hitting as they can get.
Austin Scott came out first and started to set up a table on the outside as the fans cheered it on. FM Young was out next and she smiled as she saw Scott setting things up and quickly went to the ring. The two met in the center of the ring and started to unload with punches as the crowd cheered. They were heavy strikes that forced the other to take a step back and Young dropped Scott with a clubbing forearm. Scott got to his feet and was dropped with another right hand. He got up and speared Young into the corner and started to land shots to her ribs. Young pushed off and looked for Man-Machine Interface (Discus Clothesline) but Scott ducked it. Scott grabbed Young and delivered a sideslam. Scott pulled her up and tossed her over the ropes and she landed on the apron. She grabbed Scott and pulled him over the ropes. The two went blow for blow on the apron. Scott wanted to hit a DDT on the apron but Young was able to block it by holding the ropes. She jumped up and drove a knee into his face and staggered him. Young lifted Scott and hit a suplex on the apron as the fans ooh’ed. Scott grabbed him back and rolled off the apron and to the floor.
Serena Riot: THE HARDEST PART OF THE RING!
Young grabbed Scott on the outside and bounced his head off the apron. Young grabbed him by the head and looked to do it a second time but he braced himself by putting his hands out. He hit an elbow to her gut, then a second. Scott pulled her in and delivered a double underhook powerbomb on the outside! Scott grabbed a kendo stick and whacked Young in the ribs and back with it as she tried to get away. He unloaded shot after shot as the fans watched on, cheering FM back to her feet.
Gemma Foster: The crowd is trying to get FM back into this.
Young took another shot to the ribs as she stood and shook her head, shaking it off. She looked up at Scott and he swung for her head but she ducked it and hit the Man-Machine Interface! She grabbed one of the trash cans and placed it on his chest as she jumped to the apron and put her body on the line as she hit a senton off the apron and onto the trash can! FM Young grabbed at her back as she pulled Scott up to his feet. In desperation, he speared her into the announce table back first!
Gemma Foster: Watch out, Serena! They’re getting a little close!
Scott looked at the table he set up and smiled as he pointed to it. He lifted Young onto the announce table. He climbed up after her and pulled her into position. Scott started to set up for the Law and Order (Pumphandle Slam) but Young slipped through his legs and stood. Scott turned and Young lifted him and tossed him into the table with the Human Error Processor (Pop-up Powerbomb)!
Serena Riot: THROUGH THE TABLE!
Young climbed off the commentary table and pulled Scott out of the rubble of his table and rolled him into the ring. She climbed inside the ring and covered as the crowd counted and she picked up the pinfall!
WINNER: FM Young via pinfall @ 12:39
Gemma Foster: FM Young is moving on and is closer to a match with the Extreme Champion.
We see Kamila Rose watching a tv in the back, smiling.
Serena Riot: That was fun.
Young rubbed her ribs and back as she smiled in the ring before heading to the back.
COMING SOON TO PPV
AUGUST 12, 2023 : LIVE FROM KAHUKU, HI!
Run it Back
After a commercial break, music starts to build that the fans become polarized over as ”GET ON YOUR KNEES AND BOW DOWN” echoes as “Bow Down” by I Prevail starts to play and out walks Lacy Nelson with the Primetime Championship around her waist. She smirks as she pulls her sunglasses down to look over them. She seems to be favoring her ankle as she starts to walk down the ring.
Gemma Foster: Here comes-
Serena Riot: Here comes the Primetime Champion, Gemma. Lacy Nelson has some things to say to Melody Slayton tonight.
Nelson made her way to the ring and climbed inside as she posed on her knees. She stood and took a microphone from a stagehand and her music died down.
Lacy Nelson: I want to keep this really simple. April 30th I stood in this ring and I superkicked Melody Slayton and pledged myself to the Untethered Empire. That night a lot of you thought that I turned my back on you. I came out here shortly after and told all of you that YOU turned your back on ME.
She takes a brief pause as the fans murmur.
Lacy Nelson: I can stand here and make excuses for the things I’ve done this year. I can also tell you that over the last few months I have had a different view on life since standing here with Daniel Daemon.
Nelson looks out to the commentary desk with a smile.
Lacy Nelson: I’ve surrounded myself with people that make me believe in myself. Daemon helped me believe in myself again. My fiance, Serena Riot, has helped me believe in myself.
The fans give her a cheer as she blushes.
Lacy Nelson: Last week I came down to this ring and I put this championship on the line because that’s what I do! I came down here and I won because that’s what I do! I make the headlines here in Empire Wrestling and tonight I want to make another. Melody Slayton. I know you’re right behind the curtain listening to this entire thing -
Nelson is cut off as Slayton walks out to the stage to a big cheer. She makes her way down and climbs into the ring before pacing around. She stands guard, ready for whatever is to come.
Lacy Nelson: I know you don’t understand why I aligned myself with Daemon and the Untethered Empire. I still carry the banner for the group and I will continue to do so, for now, because Daniel Daemon believes in me and pushes me to be better. I know he doesn’t always do what people think is the right thing but Melody, you earned my respect last week. I’ve always seen potential in you and know that your career is probably going to outshine so many. I apologize for blindsiding you, Slayton.
Nelson stood there and reached her hand out. Slayton thought it over and chuckled and shook her head. It didn’t look like she was going to accept it but then finally reached out and the two shook hands as the fans cheered. The two shook hands and chatted and smiled. Slayton went to turn away and walk away but Nelson held onto her hand as the fans gasped. Nelson pulled her back in and held the microphone up.
Lacy Nelson: That wasn’t the headline, Melody. The headline? In two weeks, at Hype 102, we’re going to run it back. Nelson/Slayton two with the Primetime Championship on the line.
The crowd roars as Slayton smiles and Nelson drops the microphone and removes the Primetime Championship and holds it high. Slayton rolls out of the ring and Nelson fired up the crowd as she jumped onto a turnbuckle and posed with the title.
Gemma Foster: Lacy Nelson is going to defend the Primetime Championship against Melody Slayton at Hype 102!
Serena Riot: That’s a headline!
AJ Adams Vs. Daniel Daemon
Gemma Foster: In the words of the great Scott Parker… It’s main event time!
The fans cheered as AJ Adams’ hit the stage and was fired up. He walked from side to side of the stage before making his way down, high-fiving fans on the ramp.
Gemma Foster: AJ Adams is coming off a big win against LONG time rival, Emily Corlen, at Hype 100. He’s going to have his hands full here tonight, Serena, with another man he’s had a past with.
The fans boo as Daniel Daemon walked out to the stage with the lights dimmed and a lone spotlight on him. He carried the EW World Championship over his shoulder as he moved slowly to the ring.
Serena Riot: Daniel Daemon might be one of the biggest men I’ve ever seen in my life, Gemma.
Gemma Foster: Daniel Daemon, the World Champion, has a date with our Interim World Champion, Marilyn Lee Cross, as he’s returning from a medical absence here tonight. We don’t know when that match is coming but you have to believe it is soon.
Daemon stood in the ring and handed the title off to the referee for safekeeping. The bell rang and Adams approached carefully. The two locked up and Daemon pushed Adams across the ring as he rolled to his back and up to his feet. He dusted himself up and bounced around the ring. He landed lefts and rights on Daemon who grabbed his arm and landed a wicked headbutt. Adams climbed back to his feet and walked into a scoop slam. Daemon looked for a jumping leg drop across the chest but Adams moved out of the way. Adams tried to end things quickly and lock in Lights Out (Tazzmission). Daemon stood all the way up and jumped, leaning back and crushed Adams under him. Daemon pulled Adams up and tossed him into the ropes and hit him with a hard chop to the chest that echoed around the arena. Adams grabbed his chest and hit a kick to the gut and then a second. Adams hit a forearm and quickly delivered a DDT. Adams tried to get Daemon up but Daemon grabbed him by the throat as he stood. Daemon looked for a chokeslam but Adams spun as he was lifted. Adams shocked everyone when he hit Daemon with Break Stuff (Stunner)!
Serena Riot: Adams is looking to end it!
Adams rolled Daemon over to his back and tried for a cover but he was able to kick out at one to the shock of everyone! Daemon climbed to his feet and Adams came off the second rope and looked for a blow but was hit with a big boot! Adams bounced off the mat and climbed to his feet. Daemon grabbed Adams and hit a chokeslam! He pounded his chest before pulling Adams to his feet. He lifted him up over his head and dropped him with the Twist of Cain II (Vertical Suplex Piledriver)! Daemon rolled Adams onto his back and just covered him with his knee in his chest and picked up the impressive win.
WINNER: Daniel Daemon via pinfall @ 8:51
Gemma Foster: Daemon looks to be at 100%! Watch out AJ!
After the match, Daniel blindsides AJ Adams while he wasn’t paying attention with a huge forearm, the audience boos loudly as Daniel starts laying into him with hard stomps. He motions to a few of his pawns at ringside who enter the ring and at Daniel’s urging begin to raise AJ to his feet. Daniel wraps his hand around AJ’s throat seemingly to attempt a chokeslam while the audience boos and jeers loudly until…
The lights go down briefly.
They come back up and the crowd erupts as both pawns have been shoved off of AJ Adams by a pair of Hoodie Ninjas and Daniel is now face-to-face with his son.
Serena Riot: It’s Johnny Maverick! Johnny Maverick! Johnny Maverick is back in Empire Wrestling!
Gemma Foster: The word was he was retiring!
The audience bangs on the guardrails in excitement as Johnny stares down his much taller father. Daniel holds up a hand as if to say ‘hold on’ as his other hand reaches into his pocket and takes out one of the final two remaining pocket squares, this one with an image of a ‘Knight’ and extends it to Johnny. Johnny takes the pocket square from his father and looks at it… and suddenly embraces his father in a hug. The audience starts to shower boos as it seems Johnny has joined the Untethered!
Serena Riot: This can’t be good for Empire Wrestling.
Gemma Foster: Uh….Daniel looks like he isn’t really a fan of that hug.
Gemma is correct. The booing has died down as the audience realizes Daniel is trying to escape his son's grasp but the Sexy Psychic Saviour of the Suplex has his hands LOCKED. He goes down low, pops his hips, and sends the big man FLYING with an Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex!!!
Daniel stumbles to his feet and Johnny tries to underhook his arms and set up the Perfect Armbar but the rest of the Untethered rush the ring and get Daniel the hell out of there, covering him as he marches back up the ramp. Daniel is already barking future strategy to the other members of the Untethered as Johnny hits one of the turnbuckle and loudly shouts the battle cry he ripped off from a combination of the film ‘The Warriors’ and the Clutch song ‘Passive Restraints’ so many years ago. The crowd responds to his loud ‘CAN. YOU. DIG IT?!?!?!’ with a cheer.
Gemma Foster: Is Johnny Maverick here to stay in Empire or is this part of his retirement tour? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out but what a moment!
Johnny makes his way into the crowd to high five people and exit as the scene fades out.

Run it Back
After a commercial break, music starts to build that the fans become polarized over as ”GET ON YOUR KNEES AND BOW DOWN” echoes as “Bow Down” by I Prevail starts to play and out walks Lacy Nelson with the Primetime Championship around her waist.
