Episode #102 - August 20, 2023
Gemma Foster: Welcome ladies and gentlemen! Thank you for tuning in for Empire Wrestling’s Hype! I’m Gemma Foster and alongside me once again is Serena Riot. Tonight, it’s another PACKED show and it’ll all be headlined by a Primetime Championship match!
Serena Riot: Hell yeah, chica!
Gemma Foster: We find out the next two competitors moving on in the Extreme Championship contender tournament. One of those matches will see Chelsea LeClair taking on Harper Blake!
Serena Riot: Chelsea LeClair and Harper Blake tonight with BIG stakes on the line. Best believe they're gonna lay it all out there! I can't wait!
Gemma Foster: Newcomer Artemis Ren is making her debut tonight against the number one contender for the Spartan Championship, Samantha Hamilton.
Serena Riot: I've known Titaness for a very long time and if there's one thing I know it's that she won't back down, Even against a badass like Artimis Ren. Speaking of badass, Gemma. Jenna Jillian Walker, EW’s Spartan Champion, is teaming with Harper Mason tonight!
Gemma Foster: Harper Mason is looking for help tonight as she takes on Dishonor. Kaito Hirano and Jason Evans have been an issue for Harper for weeks now. But tonight, our main event. Lacy Nelson is set to defend the Primetime Championship against Melody Slayton!
Serena Riot: Call me biased, but Lacy defending against Melody? I love Mel but Lacy is gonna bring it the only way she can. Lacy is Primetime, Gemma.
Kamila Rose Vs. Missy Propaganda
The Extreme Champion, Kamila Rose, was out to the ring first as she walked quickly down the ramp. She rolled into the ring and stood in the corner as she removed the Extreme Championship. She showed it off and jumped to the middle rope. Missy Propaganda came to the stage and looked around as the fans cheered her on. She climbed into the ring as we were set to get started.
Serena Riot: Kamila Rose is looking to make a statement to all those other wrestlers trying to chase her championship.
Propaganda and Rose locked up and struggled for position before Rose landed a hard chop to the chest. Propaganda grabbed her chest before Rose moved her hands and hit another chop. Rose pulled her into a side headlock and applied pressure. Propaganda was able to push Rose into the ropes and caught her with an arm drag. Rose stood and was taken down with a judo toss. Propaganda pulled Rose up and landed a forearm to the face. Rose landed a hard kick on Propaganda and tossed her into the corner. She charged the corner and hit a corner spear and then flipped her back with a monkey flip.
Gemma Foster: Kamila has been able to stay on Missy in the early going here, Serena. She needs to hit something big to try and turn this around.
Rose started to set up for her Rose Cutter (Arm Trap Headlock Driver) but Propaganda was able to get free and hit an enziguri. Rose started to stand but was taken down with a roundhouse kick! Rose stumbled up to her feet and Propaganda was able to deliver her Propaganda Bomb (Springboard Flatliner)! Propaganda went into a cover but Rose was able to kick out at two.
Serena Riot: I know that Missy is new to the ring but she’s a second generation wrestler, like myself. She’s on fire right now!
Missy was fired up and got the fans clapping along as she started to stalk Kamila. Propaganda started to lift Rose up for a suplex but Rose was able to counter into a DDT! Propaganda was seeing stars after the DDT but started to try and stand. Rose ran over and delivered her Twisting Vines (Pop Rocks (Sunset Flip Powerbomb)) and covered for the pinfall win.
WINNER: Kamila Rose via pinfall @ 9:42
Propaganda rolled out of the ring and was checked on by staff as Rose was handed her title and looked up to the stage as the fans started to buzz.
Gemma Foster: Here comes the Director of Operations, Tom Carr!
Carr stood at the top of the stage and smiled as he looked out to the fans.
Tom Carr: I figured right now would be as good of a time as any to come out and talk about the little Extreme Championship Contender Tournament we have going on. We already know that FM Young has moved on in this little tournament. Tonight we’ll learn two more to make three. You’re four, Kamila. On the next Hype there will be one more match to determine a fifth. September 10th, Next Level: Ascension, the return of the King of the Mountain match!
The fans cheer as Rose smirks and shakes her head. She holds the championship over her head and tells everyone to bring it on.
Gemma Foster: The King of the Mountain match for the Extreme Championship! An exciting staple of the Next Level: Ascension event returns. We’ve seen the World Championship, the Primetime Championship, the National Championship, and the Spartan Championship all competed for in the King of the Mountain match and now, it’s the Extreme Championship’s turn!
Serena Riot: I can’t wait to see it!
EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER TOURNAMENT
Manic Vs. AJ Jenkynz
It was time for our next match as AJ Jenkynz started to make his way to the ring. The standard scattering of trash cans of objects were around the ring and he stopped to look at one at the bottom of the ramp. Someone jumped over the barricade and a brawl broke out.
Serena Riot: What in the world!
Gemma Foster: It’s Gio DeLuca! He’s attacking AJ!
Jenkynz and DeLuca brawled at the bottom of the ramp as the fans cheered. DeLuca tossed Jenkynz into the barricade and cheered himself on. He got in the face of someone at ringside and was blindsided with a chair shot to the back from Jenkynz. Officials ran down and broke things up as the two men started to shout at each other.
Gemma Foster: Looks like once again we’re not going to see Manic versus AJ Jenkynz as AJ is being escorted to the back and being checked on. He hit that barricade pretty hard, Serena. A lot of bad blood there.
Serena Riot: Speaking of bad blood! Look at me hitting those transitions!
Dishonor (Kaito Hirano & Jason Evans) Vs. Harper Mason & Jenna Jillian Walker
“Time Bomb” by Hollywood Undead hit and Dishonor walked out onto the stage to a round of boos from the crowd inside the Warehouse.
Serena Riot: Great taste in music aside, do we know who that woman was with Kaito and Jason? I don’t see her out here tonight.
Gemma Foster: I’ve been trying to get the scoop but I have no clue. Kaito Hirano plays it close to the vest.
Harper Mason came to the ring next to a big cheer from the fans as she was itching to get to the ring. She waited on the ramp before Jenna Jillian Walker came out last with the Spartan Championship over her shoulder. They made it to the ring and Walker left her title on the outside before climbing in. The four competitors quickly came to blows as Evans and Hirano were all over Mason. Walker made a save and hit Hirano with a belly to back, slamming him to the mat. Mason started to fight back and clotheslined Evans over the top rope. Mason looked at Walker and Walker stood on the middle ropes and pulled up on the top as Mason ran the ropes and dove between her legs to take out Evans!
Gemma Foster: Harper Mason throwing her body around and takes out Jason Evans!
Mason got a big cheer from the fans as she stood and pulled Evans back to his feet and the two exchanged blows. Walker was locked up with Hirano in the ring as she delivered a suplex. Walker pulled him back up and whipped him hard into a corner. She started to approach and he jumped up with a knee strike to the face. Walker was staggered and Hirano hit a spinning back kick to the gut. He jumped to the middle ropes and dove, planting her with a second rope DDT. Mason was back in the ring and the two locked eyes. They charged at each other and exploded in a flurry of strikes. Hirano got behind Mason and wanted to hit a dragon suplex but Mason hit an elbow to the side of his head. Mason grabbed Hirano and delivered her Into The Earth (Ripcord Rolling Elbow)! Mason went for a cover but was pulled out of the ring at one by Evans.
Serena Riot: Jason Evans might’ve just saved the match there. That was one hard elbow strike!
Evans lifted Mason up and dropped her back first onto the apron as she grabbed at her back in pain. Walker ran over and hit Evans with a big spear! Walker stood and Hirano came flying over the top with a tope con hilo and took out Walker! Hirano pulled Mason up and rolled her into the ring and followed after her. She started to stand and Hirano lifted her onto his shoulders for Oyasumi [Goodnight] (Fireman's Carry Overhead Kick) but she countered into a tornado DDT. Walker tagged in and entered the ring as Hirano started to stand. Walker grabbed Hirano and delivered the Under The Bridge (Bridge Dragon Suplex)! Walker bridged into a cover but Hirano kicked out at two.
Gemma Foster: The Spartan Champion almost put Kaito away.
Walker back in Mason and the two whipped him into the ropes but he held onto them on the return. Evans pulled Walker out of the ring and the referee had his attention turned as the two brawled on the outside. The mystery woman that has been helping Dishonor slid into the ring and hit Mason in the back with a steel chair before rolling out of the ring and hiding against it.
Gemma Foster: Come on!
Hirano hit Mason with the Oyasumi and covered for a win!
WINNERS: Dishonor (Kaito Hirano & Jason Evans) via pinfall @ 14:24
Hirano slid out of the ring quickly as he met with Evans and the woman at the bottom of the ring. Walker slid in and checked on Mason and gave her a pat on the shoulder as she came to.
Serena Riot: Some respect there from Walker to Mason. This Dishonor group is looking to make life hell for Harper, that’s for sure.
WATCH OUR FRIENDS!
Her Dishonor
We come back from the commercial and open in the backstage area as we see Kaito Hirano, Jason Evans, and the unnamed female companion. We see EW’s newest staff member, Luna Reynolds, approach them, trying to get a word.
Luna Reynolds: Kaito, Jason. Everyone wants to know what is going on with Dishonor and who this is with you. We’ve seen her help you out multiple times now and we still don’t know anything.
Jason Evans smirks as he goes to speak.
Jason Evans: You want to know what this is?
The female steps forward and puts her hand on his shoulder to dismiss him.
Female: Hello. This is Dishonor. I am Kimiko Hirano, sister to Kaito. Over time you will learn more about me but tonight, this is a warning to everyone. Dishonor isn’t sitting back anymore. The sun has risen on a new day for Dishonor.
The trio walk away, leaving Luna standing there.
Luna Reynolds: Back to you guys.
Artemis Ren Vs. Samantha Hamilton
Ding Ding Ding
Gemma Foster: Here we go folks!
And this match is underway! Both competitors lock eyes and tie up. Samantha looks to be getting the upper hand fairly early, by kicking and striking away at Artemis. She whips Artemis into the ropes and nails Artemis with a nice clothesline. Samantha is quick to lock in an Ankle Lock on Artemis. It doesn’t exactly last long however as Artemis is quick to her feet and uses her free leg for a nice enziguri on Samantha. After creating a little bit of separation, Artemis hits a Jawbreaker, sending Samantha down hard. Artemis locks in a figure four in the center of the ring, and Smantha doesn’t have anywhere to go.
Serena Riot: She’s got it locked in tight!
Artemis locks it in even harder and smiles while doing it. Samantha rolls over, and reverses! Now it’s Artemis that’s on the verge of tapping but to no avail! Artemis eventually gets to the ropes, forcing the ref to begin the count. Samantha, being the vet she is, utilizes the whole count before breaking it off. She waits for Artemis to get back up, and when she does land a perfectly executed Spinebuster. Samantha hits the ropes and goes for a running Senton.
But Artemis rolls out the way! Samantha gets sent crashing hard on the mat. That proves to be the opening Artemis needs as she goes for a standing moonsault over top of Samantha! She picks her up, and whips her into the corner and hits a diving splash. It dazes Samantha and Artemis lands a scoop powerslam! This looks to be near the end as she signals for Best Blonde Moonsault! She goes to the ropes but notices that Samantha begins to get up. She purposely dives over her and goes for a small package but only gets a 2 count. She doesn’t wait, as she goes for another rollup, but again only getting two! That fall was even closer than the first! Samantha turns around and kicks Artemis in the midsection and then has her up for WRATH OF THE TITANS! THE PEDIGREE CONNECTS! SHE HOOKS THE LEG!!

WINNER: Samantha Hamilton via pinfall @ 12:09
Serena Riot: Artemis Ren almost had Samantha Hamilton a few times there but Sam was able to take it in the end.

EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER TOURNAMENT
Chelsea LeClair Vs. Harper Blake
Gemma Foster: Harper Blake is a former Extreme Champion and you know she’d love to pick up a win here tonight to enter herself into that King of the Mountain Championship.
Blake came out first and looked in a couple of the trash cans and decided to toss one into the ring as the fans cheered. LeClair came out to the stage and quickly made her way down so Blake couldn’t prepare more. They came to blows on the outside and Blake smashed LeClair face first on the apron. LeClair rolled into the ring and got to her feet as Blake followed in after her. Blake lifted her up and slammed her onto the mat with a sidewalk slam. LeClair stood and was hit with a hard right hand. Blake sent LeClair into the corner and then chased after her, looking for a running corner big boot, but LeClair was able to move out of the way. LeClair grabbed Blake and hit a big German suplex. Blake started to stand and LeClair pulled her in before delivering a rope assisted tornado DDT. LeClair went into a cover for just one as Blake kicked out. LeClair didn’t waste any time and pulled Blake to her feet. LeClair looked for the Jersey Drop (Diamond Cutter) but Blake pushed her away.
Serena Riot: Oooh. Chelsea almost hit that big cutter of hers but Harper had it scouted.
Blake tried to lock in a chickenwing but LeClair was able to get away. LeClair hit a hard elbow to the face and took Blake down with a neckbreaker. LeClair emptied the trash can that was in the ring and pulled out a cookie sheet and cracked it over Blake’s head! She dropped the cookie sheet and delivered the Ocean City Crusher (Hurricanrana Driver) right onto it! LeClair rolled Blake into a cover and got two before she kicked out. LeClair grabbed Blake’s leg and wanted her TTFO ([Tap the Fuck Out] Figure Eight) but Blake kicked her away. Blake got to her feet and had to duck a clothesline. LeClair turned around and was hit with Future Sight (V-Trigger)! Blake lifted LeClair and delivered a falcon arrow! Blake reached forward and pulled back on LeClair’s leg for leverage on the pin and got two as the fans were shocked LeClair kicked out.
Serena Riot: Chelsea kicks out!
Blake couldn’t believe it and placed the trash can on the stomach of LeClair and then started to climb to the top rope. Blake looked for DDS (Diving Double Stomp) but LeClair rolled out of the way! Blake started to stand and LeClair hit her with the trash can! Blake was stunned and LeClair hit the Jersey Drop. LeClair was fired up and went to the corner before delivering CANCELED (Corkscrew Moonsault)! She covered and got the three count pinfall!
WINNER: Chelsea LeClair via pinfall @ 14:15
Gemma Foster: Chelsea is going to Next Level: Ascension!
LeClair had her hand raised in victory as the fans cheered her on.
COMING SOON TO PPV
SEPTEMBER 15th and 16th, 2023
Who is Undisputed?
As we come back from the commercial, we see EW’s Director of Operations, Tom Carr, standing by in the ring.
Tom Carr: Tonight I am out here once again to now talk about the state of Empire Wrestling. Marilyn Lee Cross, our interim World Champion, is about to come out here and compete so I know she’s just on the other side of that curtain ready to go. So, with that said, we recently saw the return of EW’s Emperor, the World Champion, Daniel Daemon.
There’s a handful of boos as Carr keeps talking.
Tom Carr: There’s two World Championships running around and we aren’t going to wait long to unify them. We’re a few weeks from Next Level: Ascension and one of them will ascend to the top of Empire Wrestling. Marilyn Lee Cross. Daniel Daemon. Winner takes all.
The fans roar in a cheer as Carr leaves the ring.
Gemma Foster: The main event of Next Level: Ascension is set! Daniel Daemon and Marilyn Lee Cross will unify their championships and there will only be one.
Kayla Taylor Vs. Marilyn Lee Cross
Cross came out first with her interim World Champion around her waist and posed for the crowd. Taylor was out next as she quickly moved to the ring.
Serena Riot: This match could steal the show. Cross has to be itching now with that big announcement and you know Kayla wants to come in here and prove something.
The two competitors locked up to kick things off and Cross opened things with a hard forearm to the face. Taylor pulled Cross in and pulled her into a headlock and then clubbed at her head. Cross was able to get free and looked for her Hand of God (Spinning Backfirst) but Taylor ducked it. Taylor hit a kick to the gut and delivered a backbreaker and then slammed Cross to the mat. Taylor moved around the ring and posed for a moment as Cross started to stand. Cross landed a hard chop to the chest of Taylor as she turned back around. Cross hit another chop and then the Downgrade (Superkick to knee). Taylor dropped down and Cross hit a shining wizard. Cross pulled Taylor up and sent her into the corner. Cross charged and hit a lifting knee strike that staggered Taylor out of the corner. Cross hit the ropes and delivered Catch Your Breath (Striking Spear)! Cross went into a cover but only got two.
Gemma Foster: Cross with control early on here. Taylor can’t seem to find her footing.
Cross tried to pull Taylor up to her feet but was pushed away. Cross charged and Taylor ducked under her and hit a reverse DDT. They both got up quickly and Taylor hit a dropkick. They were both up again and this time. Taylor clotheslined Cross over the top rope. Taylor climbed out to the apron and jumped down as Cross started to stand. Taylor whipped Cross into the barricade. Cross grabbed at her back and walked at Taylor as they exchanged strikes and chops. Taylor lifted Cross up for Atonement (Spin Sit-out Powerbomb) but Cross countered into a headscissors takedown. Cross rolled Taylor back into the ring and started to climb back inside. Taylor hit the ropes and delivered Plan A (Shining Wizard) before Cross could get back to her feet! Taylor pulled Cross up instead of going for a cover and started to set up for her Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes) but Cross got free. Cross spun and hit her Mary Go Round (Discus Big Boot)!
Serena Riot: What a boot!
Cross pulled Taylor up and delivered a perfect Button Down (Big Bang Theory). She covered and Taylor was just able to kick out at two. Cross quickly pulled Taylor up and started to lift her onto her shoulders for the Do A Barrel Roll (Cartwheel Death Valley Driver). Taylor slipped behind Cross and looked for Broadway Lights again but once again Cross was able to get free. Taylor was hit with a spinning back elbow to the head that caused her to grab at her nose. Cross hit the ropes and delivered John Wilkes Boot (Running Yakuza Kick to the back of the head)! She covered and picked up the three count!
WINNER: Marilyn Lee Cross via pinfall @ 17:33
Cross celebrated in the ring with her title and we got a shot of Daniel Daemon watching backstage on a tv. Cross made her way to the back as Taylor sat in the ring before rolling out.
Gemma Foster: Cross has no intention of slowing down. She is out to become more than just an interim World Champion, Serena. Serena?
Out For Blood
Just then, Serena Riot takes off her headset and slowly makes her way into the ring. The crowd doesn’t know what to really expect but she has a smile on her face. She rolls into the ring, asking for a microphone in which an assistant gives her one. She looks around at the crowd, with half of them already stirring.
Serena Riot: You know…I’ve been doing a bunch of reading online. I don’t normally pay attention to dirt sheets. It’s not my thing. But, I can’t help it. It’s hard to ignore. When I see some of the things that are “reported” on me, I know it’s not true. But the problem is, it’s hard to ignore. Because I’ve tried, guys. I’ve tried to just sit at the desk and call these kick ass matches and eat my Oreos in peace. But, what happened the moment I retired? I got called out. First by Tara. Then by Maki. And now by someone right here in Empire Wrestling…
An “FM YOUNG!” chant bursts out. It causes Serena to giggle, moving back her orange hair.
Serena Riot: Yes…Her. But you see, there’s something that’s been bugging me. Actually, it’s been pissing me off more than ever. And that’s the fact that…Y’all can’t seem to like the idea that I was able to walk away and retire. I didn’t want to retire though, Hell I hated every second of it. And now that I’m cleared, now that I’m out of retirement, I’m taking these bookings and I’m loving every single one. But…The problem with taking these bookings is…
Serena Riot: “It leaves me without a home.”
The place begins to erupt, along with a “HOLY SHIT!” chant as Serena begins to get her own adrenaline pumping.
Serena Riot: And I’ve waited, and waited, and waited. And now I’m tired of waiting. I had a realization. I was chasing dreams that didn’t even want me around. I was waiting for certain companies to reach out to me, and it never dawned on me until a few days ago that…I never needed those companies. When I’m right here, in the…Well, second BEST DAMN WRESTLING COMPANY IN THE WORLD! And this is my offer, this is my moment. And I’m here to tell each and everyone one of y’all that as of Noon today? I am signed to Empire Wrestling…As a roster member!
The Warehouse once again explodes with high energy, causing Serena to briefly break character and smile as if she was a fan once more.
Serena Riot: We have amazing talent. And it doesn’t matter who you are, or what Championship you have. But if there’s one thing I’m after now? It’s gold. And I’m going to get my hands on any Championship I damn well please. Because at the end of the day, I’m not just out of retirement. I’m out for blood. And I’m going to step over anyone I have to…Even you Lacy.
The crowd begins to “OOH!” at that one.
Serena Riot: I’m accepting applications. And it’s time to square up…Or shut up. Because I’m right here. And I will always be THAT BITCH!!!
The crowd responds “FROM THE 216!” as Serena flips the microphone, leaving the ring, moving back to the desk for the main event match.
PRIMETIME CHAMPIONSHIP
Melody Slayton Vs. Lacy Nelson (c)
Melody Slayton came out to the stage first to a big cheer from the fans as she was laser focused. She high-fived a few fans on her way down and rolled into the ring. The crowd was spit when Lacy Nelson came out next. She had the Primetime Championship around her waist and looked over her sunglasses before taking them off. She made her way down to the ring and climbed inside as we got the match announcement.
Gemma Foster: Melody says she’s here to win tonight. Lacy says she NEEDS to win this match. These two are about to put it all out there for the sake of the Primetime Championship.
Serena Riot: This title means so much to Lacy and she’s going to give everything she has to retain. While Melody has nothing to lose. Home girl is ready to take it to Lacy here.
After the big match announcement, the bell rang and the two competitors looked at each other. They met in the middle of the ring and looked around as the fans cheered. Slayton went to say something but Nelson struck her with a headbutt! She pulled her down with a small package for a two count before Slayton kicked out and rolled to the corner. Nelson put her arms out as Slayton just smirked at her and pulled herself up. Nelson offered to lock up and Slayton took it and they tried to push each other into the ropes. Slayton hit a chop to the chest and Nelson came back with a forearm to the face. Slayton battled back with two hard European uppercuts before flipping Nelson to the mat with a snapmare. She landed a hard kick to the back of Nelson and then another to the chest. Slayton started to pull Nelson up and was pushed away. Nelson ran the ropes and was taken down with a drop toe hold. Slayton went into an anklelock and Nelson screamed out the moment it was applied. She quickly was able to get to the ropes and held onto the bottom one tightly.
Gemma Foster: Uh oh. Lacy Nelson’s ankle has been exposed as a target.
She pulled herself up to her feet and Slayton quickly tried to pull her back to the mat and stomped on Nelson’s foot. Nelson hit a hard right hand and followed it with a tiger suplex. Slayton hit hard and stumbled to her feet, right into a double underhook powerbomb. Nelson grabbed her by the legs and flipped over for a pinfall but Slayton kicked out. They were both to their feet and Nelson tried to deliver her Deadline (Tiger Driver '98) but Slayton countered into a headscissors. Nelson stumbled up to her feet and was rocked with This Magic Moment (V Trigger)! Slayton was fired up and delivered a big superkick! She looked for the Full Effect 2.0 (Superkick*, followed by a Shining Wizard) but Nelson dropped to her face and was able to duck the shining wizard.
Serena Riot: Lacy had that scouted perfectly.
Slayton looked at Nelson laying there and went to pull her up. Nelson surprised her with a jawbreaker. Nelson pointed at Slayton and rocked her with a superkick! Slayton fell backwards into the corner and was sat perfectly. Nelson ran to the far corner and came charging back and delivered Thunderstruck (Corner Hip Attack)!
Serena Riot: You’ve been… THUNDERSTRUCK!
Nelson pulled Slayton out of the corner and hit Deadline! She went into the cover and Slayton was able to kick out at two. Nelson sat back and closed her eyes for a moment before pulling herself up. She looked at Slayton starting to stir and readied herself. Nelson took a step as Slayton stood and looked for her superkick but Slayton countered into an anklelock! Nelson was in pain as she screamed out and Slayton twisted her ankle. Slayton kept pulling her to the center of the ring and shouted at her to top out. Nelson refused and tried to turn herself. She got to her back and was able to kick Slayton away but the damage may have been done. Slayton got to her feet and Nelson was up. Slayton charged and ran into a knee strike as she looked for a spear. Nelson hit the Byline (Canadian Destroyer) out of nowhere! Slayton rolled out of the ring before Nelson could cover.
Gemma Foster: Lacy might have had it won there but Melody was able to get herself out of the ring to regroup.
Nelson looked out at Slayton and tried to stand but was limping. She reached down and started to unlace her boot and kicked it off.
Gemma Foster: That’s the ankle that she plants for those big superkicks, Serena.
Serena Riot: …
Nelson went out of the ring after Slayton and was hit in the gut and pushed away. Slayton hit a hard uppercut. Nelson came back with a headbutt. Nelson tried to set up for El Editor (Hammerlock DDT) but Slayton was able to get free and rolled into the ring. Nelson started to roll into the ring and Slayton jumped over the top ropes to the apron. Nelson was confused and turned to Slayton and was hit with the Flight Risk (Slingshot DDT)! Slayton went into a cover and got a two count! Slayton didn’t wait around and went to the corner and shouted at Nelson to stand. She started to stand and Slayton delivered the Glitter Bomb (Panama Sunrise)! Slayton went into the cover as the crowd counted along for two!
Gemma Foster: I don’t believe it! Lacy kicked out!
The crowd was shocked and Slayton sat there in disbelief. She started to pull Nelson up to her feet and took a step back. Slayton looked for a superkick but Nelson ducked it and delivered her Le Gasp (Lungblower Backbreaker)! Both ladies were down and the referee started the ten count. They were both able to answer around 8 as they were up to their feet. They exchanged hard right hands and chops as the crowd ate it up. Slayton was hit with a kick to the gut and Nelson looked for another Deadline but Slayton was able to drop to a knee to block it. She got free and Nelson backed up and hit a superkick! She fell and grabbed at her own ankle and went into a cover for two as the crowd popped. Nelson slammed her hand on the mat in frustration and started to stand. She shouted at Slayton to get up and waited. Slayton was up and Nelson hit another superkick and fell to a knee. She knew it wasn’t enough and looked out at the announce table. She looked at Serena Riot and looked back at Slayton. Nelson looked for Serena Riot’s Wicked Ways (Curb Stomp) but missed as Slayton moved out of the way. Nelson screamed in pain as her bare foot connected with the mat. Slayton grabbed her by the foot and tripped her down with an anklelock! Nelson tried to fight free but Slayton grapevined and applied more pressure. The pain was too much for Nelson and she was forced to tap.
WINNER AND NEW EW PRIMETIME CHAMPION: Melody Slayton via submission @ 23:39
Slayton released the hold and threw her arms up in the air as she stood.
Gemma Foster: Melody Slayton is the new Primetime Champion!
Slayton checked on Nelson who was in a lot of pain. She was handed the title and Nelson rolled out of the ring and was checked on by staff. Slayton held the title above her head and walked around the ring with it. She pumped her fist and jumped to one of the middle turnbuckles and showed off her new prize as we ended the show.
Serena Riot: Hell yeah, chica!
Gemma Foster: We find out the next two competitors moving on in the Extreme Championship contender tournament. One of those matches will see Chelsea LeClair taking on Harper Blake!
