Episode #104 - October 8, 2023
Gemma Foster: Welcome to Empire Wrestling HYPE! We’re coming off an amazing Next Level: Ascension where so much of the landscape has changed. The World Championship has been unified as Marilyn Lee Cross is YOUR EW World Champion. There’s a new Extreme Champion after an insane King of the Mountain match and FM Young is ready to carry the championship high. Sam Hamilton is our new Spartan Champion after a HARD hitting match. Tonight we move forward as we see how the landscape is going to shape up.
Gemma Foster: To top everything off… tonight a cross promotion grudge match as we’ll see EW’s Serena Riot take on Shazzah Nasty in our main event! Until then, let’s get started with tonight’s action!
Josh Goldstein Vs. Emma Wexler
It was time for the first match of the night as Josh Goldstein started the night off by coming out to the stage to a pop. He made his way down to the ring and tried to get the crowd into it. Wexler came out next and the two were ready to kick things off with some fast paced action. The two lined each other up and circled before locking up. Wexler looked for a roundhouse kick that Goldstein ducked and looked for a German suplex. Wexler flipped backwards and landed on her feet. Wexler looked for a tilt-a-whirl DDT but Goldstein pushed her away. Goldstein whipped Wexler across the ring and looked for a clothesline that she ducked. Wexler hit a springboard crossbody to finally connect as the fans cheered. Wexler and Goldstein got to their feet and he flipped her around with an armdrag. They were both up and Goldstein hit a quick snap suplex. The Tag Team Champion pulled Wexler to her feet and was able to send her into the corner. He charged and wanted a corner Chutzpah Boot (Running Yakuza Kick either to standing or cornered opponent) but she was able to get out of the way and roll him up for a cover getting two!
Gemma Foster: Wow! Emna almost stole one here tonight!
Wexler grabbed Goldstein and was able to deliver a big Tornado DDT! She went to the top rope and was possibly looking for a moonsault but Goldstein was there to push her foot out from under her. Goldstein went to the top rope and set up, delivering an avalanche belly to back suplex! They both crashed hard as the fans cheered them on.
Gemma Foster: Josh Goldstein with a HUGE suplex off the top rope!
Goldstein and Wexler both slowly climb to their feet and she hits a chop to the chest. She jumped up and hit a knee strike to the face. Goldstein looked for a pumpkick that missed and Wexler countered with a victory roll into a double foot stomp to the chest! Wexler quickly pulled Goldstein to his feet and she ran the ropes and looked for the Party Foul (Knee strike to an opponent's head, sometimes from the second rope) but Goldstein was able to side step it. She missed and Goldstein hit the Schmuck-Spiker (Poison Rana)! Goldstein pointed to the corner and went up top before delivering the Heroic Landing (Reverse Facing Diving Senton)! He covered and got the pinfall!
WINNER: Josh Goldstein via pinfall @ 12:33
Gemma Foster: Goldstein and North have basically had little competition in the tag team division as of late. One has to wonder what is next!
The Next Step
Earlier in the Day
Jenna Jillian Walker standing just outside of the Warehouse looking out at the skyline of New York City.
Jenna Jillian Walker: I can’t help but be disappointed that I came up short in my efforts to keep the Spartan Championship but I can honestly say that Samantha was the better woman at Ascension. Because I felt and still feel that I epitomize what the Spartan Championship is all about but I didn’t come to Empire Wrestling to fold at the first sign of adversity. I came to Empire Wrestling to show the world that I am truly the very best wrestler in the world. How do I do that? I am pretty sure you should all know the answer of what that is. That is to be the holder of the Empire Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship. Which is why Marilyn Lee Cross can say she is the best in the world.
Jenna smiles and points at the city in front of her..
Jenna Jillian Walker: It has been widely said that if you can make it in New York you can make it anywhere. Do I appear to be someone that won’t make it here in Empire? If you think so then you haven’t been paying attention to my rookie year. I have exceeded my expectations and I have higher expectations for myself this upcoming year. So in my quest to outdo myself I have been tasked with stepping into the ring with an Empire Wrestling mainstay. A man who has done a whole hell of a lot here and in BWF. Which is why I have been preparing myself to not only step into the ring with you, Austin, but to get to the level I want to here. And this kind of preparation that gets me excited and completely invested both mentally and physically is very dangerous inside that ring.
Artemis Ren Vs. Veronica Taylor
And this match is underway! Both competitors stare one another down and we get our first offense as Veronica Taylor slaps Artemis Ren across the face! Ren doesn’t take too kindly to that and instantly slaps her back and throws her to the ground! She begins pounding away at her and the crowd is going crazy for the onslaught! She picks her up, whipping her into the corner and charges after Veronica Taylor. But Veronica moves out the way and goes for a big boot. But Artemis Ren catches her and transitions it into a sitout powerbomb! She goes for a quick cover, but only gets a 1 count. She knew that wasn’t going to be enough and ran into the ropes. But Veronica pops up and hits her with a clothesline. Veronica locks on a Camel Clutch with Artemis Ren clearly in the middle of the ring. There’s nowhere to go and Artemis is looking for the ropes early on. She realizes she won’t be able to make it and instead opts to just ragdoll “First Class” over her and props her up with her head against the bottom rope. Artemis takes a huge step back and goes for a nice running senton in the corner! The crowd chants “One More Time!” and Artemis obliges, this time with Veronica’s head bouncing viciously! The referee briefly pauses the match to check on Veronica. But wait! Veronica bulrushes the referee and rakes Artemis Ren in the eyes! The referee didn’t see it but the crowd did! They’re booing Veronica really bad!
Veronica pushes Artemis into the turnbuckle but Artemis doesn’t stay there long. Instead hits a jawbreaker on Veronica as she gets close by. With Veronica Taylor down, she opts for a Dragon Sleeper. Veronica tries very quickly to reach the ropes but can’t. Artemis Ren pulls her back. She begins torquing on her, making sure that Veronica’s body gets broken down. Eventually Artemis smacks Veronica across the chest with a forearm. But Veronica whips her over! But she can’t seem to get much going as that Dragon Sleeper took a ton out of her. The referee begins a count but it only gets up to about 7 before both competitors are on one knee each. Artemis hits a headbutt, and Veronica hits back with an elbow to the face. They do this once again, with Artemis hitting a headbutt and Veronica elbowing her face. Eventually they both get to a vertical base and Artemis grabs a hold and puts Veronica in a Sleeper Hold. She begins ragdolling her back and forth. She eventually lets go and Veronica gets on one knee. Artemis Ren is feeling it now and plants her with a DDT, rolling her over but only getting a two count. She knows she has to stay on top of things and picks her up, going for a Spear, but Veronica sidesteps her and Artemis gets sent into the turnbuckle! Veronica schoolboy rolls her up but gets a two for her efforts.
The crowd begins chanting “This is awesome!” as they both put out all the stops. Veronica is first to her feet as the refs count hits about 8. She picks up Artemis but Artemis picks her up into a fireman's carry! Veronica, sensing she’s in trouble jumps down and pushes her into the ropes. As Artemis comes off the ropes, she hits her with a nice Running Knee Lift. She goes to roll her over but gets a 2 count. Veronica slams the mat in frustration, wondering what it’s going to take to put away Artemis Ren. She picks up Artemis and Artemis Ren goes for a clothesline, but Veronica rolls out of the way and from literally out of nowhere hits ULTRA FABULOUS! THE BACKSTABBER CONNECTS!!! The fans are into this match just as much as anyone else right now. Veronica begins clenching at her back as she landed pretty hard on the mat. But she gets up, and backs herself into the corner. She motions for Artemis Ren to get up. Finally after enough stirring, she gets on one knee and Veronica Taylor rushes over and lands BEAUTY IMPROVEMENT PASS!!! THE CURB STOMP!!! She rolls over Artemis Ren and she gets the three count!
WINNER: Veronica Taylor via pinfall @ 16:39
Fear the Fire
Backstage, in the promo room of the EW facility, the lights are dimmed but the camera can still pick up the view of a seated Travis Levitt. Travis has his head bowed, clearly deep in thought but as if sensing the camera is upon him, he raises his head to look towards the camera with a soft smile.
Travis Levitt: It occurs to me that I have yet to formally introduce myself to Empire Wrestling. That there are people out there with little idea of who The Dragon is, or why you should pay attention to me. And it also occurs to me that one of those people is EW's very own brand new Spartan Champion, Samantha Hamilton. So, I'm going to take a moment and educate you all.
Travis pauses now with a soft glance away, ever the seasoned pro as he allows the moment to build before continuing.
Travis Levitt: I have been wrestling for nearly two decades now. I have been all over the world. I've fought in front of thousands inside a stadium, in front of a few dozen in a backyard, and once, I'm almost certain, on the moon. WWH was like one giant acid trip, I swear. I have been to the top of this business, and I've crashed out. I've broken bones, I've fallen to vices, and I've been betrayed more times than I care to think about. I even dated a vampire.
Travis gives a gentle shrug and then looks at the camera with a small wave.
Travis Levitt: Hi Ash.
Stopping the wave he shakes his head before looking down and then slowly raises his head once more.
Travis Levitt: Now, am I just telling you all this to humble brag? Possibly. I like talking about myself. But maybe, maybe there's more to it. Like getting a message across to our new Champion. You see Samantha, on the same night you won that title, I won a shot at that gold. I'm your first challenger. And if history has taught me anything, its that new champions are the hardest to topple. No-one ever wants to be the first challenger, because you're stepping up on someone who is riding high after winning the gold. Who has all the momentum and all the passion to want to keep their gold. To prove themselves. It is a massive challenge to try and overcome for anyone.
Travis pauses again but this time takes the time to lean forward, rubbing his hands together and a smirk grows across his lips as he stares right at the camera.
Travis Levitt: But me? I'm not afraid of the challenge. Because for every dozen times the first challenger chokes, I know there's that slim chance that the champion fumbles on the first stop too. That getting that gold makes them over-eager to prove themselves. To prove it wasn't a fluke. So they get hasty, rush themselves, and make mistakes. And when you've been around as long as I have, you know to watch for those mistakes. And you know how to capitalize on them.
Travis smirks just a little as he feels the moment building.
Travis Levitt: You're a dangerous woman, Titaness, and I know that. In a battle of pure skill versus pure skill, it could go either way. You're strong, quick, and dangerous. I may be bigger, but you're just as powerful. And you've been here longer then me, and held gold here before too. If we ran the tale of the tape, they'd claim the advantages are all on your side. But I've never let being at a disadvantage stop me before. I'm ready. I'm hungry. And I'm coming for your gold.
There's a brief moment as Travis just stares at the camera intently and then he finally leans back with a satisfied smile.
Travis Levitt: So now you know what's coming for you Samantha. I'd say its time to prepare yourself. Because if you make even the tiniest mistake, your title reign is ending in Flames.
And with that The Dragon hops up and walks away as the show cuts away to the next scene.
Chelsea LeClair Vs. Manic
We came back from commercial and were ready to go right into the next match. Manic made her eerie entrance into the Warehouse as she crawled and pulled herself to the ring. The mood changed as the fans cheered LeClair as she made her way to the ring. Manic charged at LeClair and opened the match with a cheap shot of quick forearms strikes. Manic screamed and pulled at the hair of LeClair before the referee forced a break as Chelsea was in the ropes. Manic ran the ropes and missed on a clothesline. LeClair caught her as Manic kept running the ropes and hit a big hip toss. Manic started to stand and LeClair came off the middle ropes with her Ocean Crash (Springboard cross-body)! Chelsea was fired up as she looked at Manic. Manic got to her feet and LeClair delivered a swinging neckbreaker. She pulled Manic up and started to get into position for her Jersey Drop (Diamond Cutter) but Manic countered by pulling her down to the mat by her hair.
Gemma Foster: Manic using every inch the referee is giving her here but she just got a warning about the hair.
Manic had LeClair in position and hit her with the Breakneck (Fireman's Carry Neckbreaker)! Manic went for a cover for just two! Manic snarled at the referee and cranked her neck as she stood and looked at LeClair. Manic looked for her Splitting Headache (Bicycle Knee Strike) but LeClair dodged it and rolled her up from behind and got two! Manic just kicked out in time and tried to get to her feet but LeClair hit the Jersey Drop! LeClair went into a cover and got another two count.
Gemma Foster: So close!
LeClair started to look for the TTF) ([Tap the F*** Out] Figure 8) but Manic kicked her away. Manic got to her feet and delivered a slingblade as she charged at her. Manic started to head to the top rope and looked for Crashing Down (Double Stomp) but she missed but was able to roll through as LeClair was able to roll out of the way. Jersey Drop! LeClair covered and got a pinfall win!
WINNER: Chelsea LeClair via pinfall @ 12:09
LeClair celebrated in the ring for a moment before the lights went out. When they came back up, a female figure with a mask was standing above Manic, looking at LeClair. LeClair stood ready and the lights went out and came back up. This time, the figure and Manic were gone.
Gemma Foster: Wow, that was something. Who was that!?
Future Headlines
We come back from our commercial break as there's silence in the Warehouse. The crowd pops as “Come and Get It” by I Prevail kicks up and out walks Lacy Nelson in her street clothes. She smiles and removes her sunglasses as she’s announced to the crowd.
Gemma Foster: I heard that Lacy was here tonight!
Nelson makes her way to the ring and climbs inside. She looks around as if she’s taking everything in and just smiles. She takes a microphone and lets things die down.
Lacy Nelson: …I don’t want to waste a lot of time here tonight. I asked for this time tonight because I felt like everyone here should hear this news in person instead of me putting it online. Last Sunday, October 1st, my contract here in Empire Wrestling came to an end. I had signed a five year deal when I joined Empire Wrestling and that time has passed.
The fans gasp and just sit in silence as she breaks the news.
Lacy Nelson: I know. I came back to New York last weekend in hopes of striking a new deal to continue to compete. I also thought maybe I’ll take a break from wrestling because I’m getting married in a couple weeks. I thought maybe it’s time for me to go join a new company and see what I can do outside of Empire Wrestling. At the end of the weekend, I asked for this time because all of you deserved that much. You’ve cheered me, you’ve booed me, but over these five years I’ve been your headline.
Lacy gets tears in her eyes as she waves out to the crowd and she starts to leave. “Please don’t go! Please don’t go!” starts to fill the arena. Lacy sits on the middle rope as if she’s about to swing out and leave but stands up and gets into the center of the ring.
Lacy Nelson: You’re all too kind. Let me leave you with one last headline… LACY NELSON HAS RE-SIGNED WITH EMPIRE FREAKING WRESTLING!
The crowd roars as she gets them to pop.
Lacy Nelson: This is a message to everyone. Lacy Nelson will continue to be THE HEADLINE here in Empire Wrestling for many years to come. I will climb back to the top of this company and I will once again be YOUR champion.
Lacy drops the microphone and is fired up as she leans over the ropes.
Gemma Foster: What a headline!
Kamila Rose Vs. Harper Mason
The bell rings with both women in the ring and they immediately go into a speedy stream of flips and drags, each woman bouncing around the ring with the quickness they have come to rely on. Harper goes to the well one to many times, trying for a Hurricarana, only to be countered with a sit-out powerbomb from Kamila. Kamila seizes her chance, following up with a Tilt-a-Whirl backbreaker and german suplex, as it quickly became clear The Witch was settling in on her target. And it only got worse for The Slaytanic Avenger, when she found herself tangled up in the Black Thorn! Even with her back aching in pain Harper managed to drag herself close enough to grab a rope and force Kamila to break the hold.
Gemma Foster: Harper may have gotten free, but the damage could be done there.
Kamila broke the hold, but her focus was still on the downed Avenger as she set her up for a powerbomb, only for Harper to backdrop her out of it. The anguish was clear as Mason collapsed too, but the respite was just what she needed. Both women came up and started swinging with some strong shots, until Mason ducked under a right hand from Kamila, slipping behind her and quickly spinning around, wrapping her up in a reverse waistlock. Quickly seizing an arm, she spun Kamila around, hooked her head, and dropped her with the Crowd Killer! Mason reached over to hook a leg, and 3 seconds later it was all over!
WINNER Harper Mason via pinfall @8:15
Jenna Jillian Walker Vs. Austin Scott
As we come back from commercial we can see Austin Scott inside the ring ready for the next match. Walker makes her way to the ring and stops at the bottom of the ramp. She walks around the ring and goes up the far steps and gets into the ring.
Gemma Foster: We heard it earlier. Jenna is looking to start her climb back up the Empire Wrestling ladder and I must say, she looks like she’s FOCUSED.
The bell rang and the two locked up. The two land clubbing blows and Scott drove his knee into her gut. He hits a lifting knee to her chest and looked for a discus lariat that just missed as she ducked. Walker hit him with a stiff upper cut that seemed to knock Scott for a loop. She notices and hits a swinging neckbreaker. Scott got to his feet and started to say something to the referee and Walker grabbed him from behind with a big German suplex. She pulled him up and hit Under The Bridge (Bridge Dragon Suplex)! The referee tried to check on Scott as he seemed out of it and Walker locked in the Dismantle (Fujiwara Armbar) and forced him to tap!
WINNER: Jenna Jillian Walker via submission @ 7:13
Walker celebrated before leaving the referee to check on Scott.
Gemma Foster: That uppercut really messed up Austin Scott. We’ll work on getting an update for you ASAP.
An Untethered Agreement
We come back from commercial to find ‘Subtle Hustle’ by Clutch dying down, Johnny Maverick standing in the middle of the ring with a hoodie on and holding a mic.
Johnny Maverick: Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen and every other beautiful and wonderful varietal of human. Friends, neighbors, and your neighbor’s friends. Fellow glorious vibrations in the mind of the one true God whose name is Love... my name...is Johnny Maverick.
Johnny rolls his neck a little bit.
Johnny Maverick: So yeah… last time we talked, my dad… well, my dad beat the shit out of me. He did hurt my neck but I may have let everyone think it was…slightly worse than I let on. Make no mistake about it, it could have been considerably worse. My father was looking to end my career that night so… after assuring my loved ones I was gonna be fine I let the rest of the world worry… sorry about that. But I think we can all agree it was worth it. The Emperor has no clothes…
A moment to let the audience laugh at Daniel’s misfortune.
Johnny Maverick: I’d say we were even but you and I both know that’s not how this works… and that look of anger on your face when I deprived you of the thing you care the most about… it made me feel alive again. It made me question my desire to step away from this business for good… but I know I’m not the only one, am I? You think I didn’t see? You having an old man breakdown on Twitter about carrying on despite being broken because this is all you have? Wanting someone to put you out of your misery?
Johnny looks at the entrance ramp, really hoping he will bait Daniel out.
Johnny Maverick: So neither of us can decide if we want to stick around or not… so let’s make the call, Pops. Let’s put it all on the line and see who wants it more. We’re getting too old for this, man. Sure we both have ‘Daddy’ vibes but we’ve got a new generation doing this while filming fuck sessions for Onlyfans and playing in bands and like… I don’t have enough hours in the day for that. My knees make clicking noises and that sounds like it makes for a very unsexy sex tape. I’ve gotten off-topic. What I am proposing, my dear father… is a fight.
The crowd perks up at the thought of a fight between Johnny and Daniel.
Johnny Maverick: I am challenging you to a one on one wrestling match… with the caveat that the loser… Gives up. Surrenders. Relents. Both of our careers on the line…in a cage. No Untethered. No Hoodie Ninjas. No Martin and Lacy. No Ollie. No spirit-crushing divorces. Just you and me and the loser fucks off. Forever.
FINALLY Johnny is interrupted by ‘Twist of Cain’ by Danzig and Daniel Daemon emerges. Martin and some other Untethered start to follow him but he motions for them to head back to the back. Daniel makes it to the ring and steps over the top rope and stands imposingly over his son, taking a moment to grab a microphone for himself. There is a silent moment of anticipation.
Daniel Daemon: ……….No.
Daniel turns and starts to walk away, the crowd booing loudly.
Johnny Maverick: Just… one last thing before you go.
Daniel stops and turns. He looks annoyed.
Johnny Maverick: Obviously Marilyn Lee Cross kept the title she defended but the one I stole to distract you… the Championship you care about more than anything. Are you at all curious what I did with it?
Daniel’s annoyance turns to fury. Johnny unzips his hoodie to reveal the former Empire Wrestling World Championship, with the faceplate of the ‘I’m Johnny Maverick’ World Championship that Daniel destroyed hastily welded on the front of it.
Johnny Maverick: I figured this was only fair since you took my title from me that I- GUARK!
Johnny is interrupted by Daniel’s hand around his throat. Daniel lifts Johnny up for a chokeslam but Johnny shifts his position and weight in the air and transitions it into a rolling armbar! The crowd EXPLODES briefly but Daniel quickly breaks the hold before Johnny can get the full extension and rolls out of the ring, the usually calm Emperor now possessed by a Demonic fury the likes of which we have never seen. He grabs the microphone that fell out of the ring.
Daniel Daemon: The Emperor is gone, son! You’re absolutely right. I had lost passion for this but now… oh I feel something. Something I haven’t felt in a long time. I am TRULY Untethered. There have been plenty of sickly pale goth kids playing pretender since I’ve been in the game… but YOU, Johnathan… YOU… have just made a deal with the Devil. I ACCEPT. And we won’t need a stipulation to have this end your career. I’m going to BREAK YOU for GOOD.
The match seems to be official. Daniel Daemon Vs. Johnny Maverick. Loser retires. Johnny has that signature smirk on his face that’s gotten him slapped so many times and Daniel has an expression like someone with Nitroglycerin for blood trying to Will themselves not to explode.
We fade out in the two staring each other down before we cut to commercial.
Shazzah Nasty Vs. Serena Riot
Gemma Foster: It’s main event time!
The bell rang but neither woman seemed quick to make the first move. Both Shazz and Serena hung back, slowly making their way inward towards one another in a leisurely circle. After several moments the two were standing a few feet away from one another, close enough to taunt but too far from the cameras for the audio to be captured. It wasn’t hard to get the jist of the exchange though, by the posturing of their shoulders and rolling of eyes.
Shazz turned her head back over her shoulder, as if turning away in a scoff but it was just a ruse in hopes of lowering Serena’s defense. Shazz quickly snapped back. She was looking to land a clubbing left but Serena had seen this coming from across the room. Blocking the blonde’s strike, using her forearm to stop Shazz's incoming hand, it left her open for Serena to headbutt her dead center in the face.
That sent the crowd hollering and Shazzah reeling. She stumbled backwards holding her face in disgust and when she pulled her hands back a single nostril was ringed red in blood. Shazz then took a running charge at Serena. Serena leapfrogged the attack so Shazz hit the ropes behind her, but instead of bouncing off them, she used her momentum, jumping off the middle rope and backwards, looking to hit a springboard DDT..
Instead Serena hit a superkick to the back of Shazzah’s head and then the woman hit the mat with a hard thud, all dead weight. Not one to typically gloat Serena couldn’t help but soak in just a bit of the cheers, but then was back to business. She took her opponent by the wrists and dragged her to the center of the ring. Shazz was starting to come to now but was still slow to get up.
The 216 Bitch assisted her, pulling Shazz to her feet and hooking her at the waist for a brainbuster suplex. Shazz stomped down on Serena’s foot, not once or twice, but three times, desperate to escape, and it worked. Serena’s grip loosened and Shazz countered with a Northern Lights Suplex of her own. After that she was back up, though shaken, but kicking the other woman several times before pulling Serena back up to her feet. Behind her, this time Shazz took Serena by the waist and what looked like a belly-to-back suplex was actually an alley-oop, Shazz letting go to send Serena tossed several feet to the other side of the ring.
Shazz Nasty was very content to soak up the attention of the crowd, especially the negative and she taunted the entire audience for a moment. The woman leaned down to a ringside camera to blow a kiss right into the lens, before turning around to give the audience a first hand view of her smacking her own backside. As well as the view of Shazz turning around to see that Serena was already back on her feet and attacking with a stiff arm clothesline.
It would have knocked Shazz down but she was close enough to the ropes she simply fell back into them, allowing Serena to grab, and toss her across the ring against the opposite side. The blonde woman bounced off those ones too, and came back face first into a BIG BOOT from That Bitch from the 216! Shazz dropped like a sack of potatoes and the crowd lit up! Serena grabs and lifts her by her hair, turning them both around back to back and dropping Shazz into a neckbreaker as well.
Serena makes the cover!
ONE
TWO
Kickout!
Shaking her head, Serena gets back up and takes Shazz with her again. She’s disappointed in not having put the other woman away, and keeps her out of the game with several elbow strikes to the head and temple. Shazz was in another dimension and barely on her feet, but Serena was happy to help keep her on them, for now.
She places Shazz in the corner against the turnbuckles, and then lifts the woman so that she’s sitting on the top one. During this time Serena joins her, climbing to the outside to stand behind Shazz on the top turnbuckle. She took Shazz’ hands and arms, pulling them back behind the woman and pushing her forward so she was standing, and leaning forward from the middle turnbuckle.
From the top turnbuckle, Serena took more than a small hop. One foot pushed up off the pad before both came down on the back of Shazz’ neck and head, sending her to the mat with a top rope curbstomp! The crowd began to chant HO-LY SHIT, HO-LY SHIT! HO-LY SHIT! With Shazzah laid out face first in the ring, Serena crawls over, rolling the woman onto her back and covers her for the pin.
ONE!
TWO!
THR--
No! Shazz, maybe intentional or not rolled a leg over and under the bottom rope, breaking the count. The crowd howls in disappointment. Serena can barely keep from screaming at the ref but maintains her composure by a thinning thread. Shazz takes the moment to roll completely out of the ring to recover and recompose herself, crawling half under the ring, behind the apron.
Her veteran opponent isn’t fooled or outsmarted though, she’s done arguing with the official and has redirected her focus back on the now missing blonde woman. She rolls out under the bottom rope, and as soon as her feet hit the ground Shazz grabs her ankles and pulls her off balance! Capitalizing on the advantage Shazzah climbs on top of Serena and lands several punches.
Afterwards she gets back to her own feet, not as enthusiastic and cocky as before, but ALL Nasty. She sneers at the fans and camera and makes a circle around the ring, before rolling back in on the opposite side from Serena. For a moment it looks like she thinks about going on offense, but holds at her head and neck, still not fully recovered from the curbstomp.
It gives time for Serena to get back in the ring, and the women meet back together again in the middle. Serena invites Shazz to land the first hit, arms out at her side, beckoning. Instead of a strike, Shazz hits a hard spear. It doesn’t take Serena down completely, but she’s doubled over, and in that position Shazz hits her with two knee strikes, and then a springboard bulldog!
That takes Serena to the mat, and Shazz covers for a pin!
ONE!
TW-
KICKOUT!
Shazz is mad, but what’s new? She pounds a fist against the mat, and doubles down. Serena stirs and starts landing body blows into Shazz’s midsection as the two are getting back up, leaning on each other in the process. Serena’s makeup is smearing on Shazz’s face and ironically enough, vice versa! Serena headbutts Shazz! Shazz headbutts Serena… and honestly seems the worst for it.
Serena goes to counter with a surprise missile dropkick and it hits! Shazz falls on her backside, and Serena comes again with a shin kick! This one Shazz DOES dodge, falling all the way back. Popping up afterwards she lands an elbow strike into her opponent’s gut. As Serena bends over, Shazz hooks her into a double underhook piledriver!
She rolls her over and hooks the leg!
ONE!
TWO!
Serena wiggles! Shazz puts her feet up onto the second rope, and hooks Serena’s tights.
THREE!
WINNER: Shazzah Naster via pinfall @ 19:55
The ref’s hand smacks the mat for the three count and the bell rings. Shazzah Nasty looks surprised! Serena is too, but of a far more annoyed variety. The crowds is letting their displeasure be known and the blonde woman starts to soak it in, with her tongue out and her thumb and forefinger on her forehead.
Gemma Foster: What a match, folks. Miss Nasty brought it to Serena here tonight.
Nasty turns to look at Miss Riot, who rolls her eyes and that L on Shazz’s forehead becomes an outstretched hand though. Serena slaps it away and … Shazz extends it again? In fact the ditzy broad even smiles. Serena takes it, cautiously, and is assisted to her feet. While the two women don’t exactly embrace in the ring, the two seem to be close enough to exchange a few words neither look displeased with.
Gemma Foster: That’s all the time we have, folks! Until next time!
