Episode #105 - October 22, 2023
Gemma Foster: Hello everyone and welcome back to Empire Wrestling HYPE! Tonight we bring you episode 105 and from top to bottom we have a great show to present you. No chit chat needed tonight, let's get right into it!
Out for Blood
“We Own The Night” by Hollywood Undead fills the arena as Serena Riot stands atop the entranceway. The fans began cheering as Serena had to do what she can to force a smile out. She begins slapping hands with her green and white face paint on, something that she doesn’t wear much of. She rolls in the ring and grabs a microphone from a production assistant.
However, she can barely get a word in, as a “Let’s Go Riot!” chant hits heavy. She takes a moment and can’t help but smile as she sees the fans really enjoying herself. After taking a minute to let it marinate, she begins.
Serena Riot: You know…I thought that when I came back…Everything was going to be sunshine and rainbows. I thought that when I came back I was going to light it up. And set the town ablaze. But the reality of it is…I’m not off to the start I envisioned for myself. And it’s not just here. For those who haven’t seen FCW, you really, really fucking need to…But I don’t have a clean record there. And I don’t know, I’m just at a complete loss for words. I had legit badasses of this industry tell me I should come back. Since my return I…Haven’t done much. And it stings. Normally I have a pretty big ego. I can talk a big game. And I know I can back it up. But that’s the problem…I haven’t.
The crowd begins to reluctantly boo as she parts her hair out of her face. She smiles but also shakes her head.
Serena Riot: And the crazy part about it? I’m…Not as pissed off as what I used to be. I dunno, maybe say I lost my fire. Maybe you can even say I lost some passion doing this. I don’t know. But whatever the case is, I can’t seem to get the job done anymore. Maybe, just maybe I should retire again but this time never come back…
The crowd doesn’t know what to really make of it as they sit there in complete shock. A tear wants to roll down Serena’s face. But she’s an ugly crier. So she puts her head back down. But this time, she smiles once more. Serena giggles, but we don't audibly hear it.
Serena Riot: Or…Maybe I should say fuck it and set my sights high. And for the EW World Championship!”
The crowd then turns from being somber to completely ecstatic!
Serena Riot: Last week I fought someone who I..Am friends with now. Shazz put on one Hell of a fucking match and I’m not taking that away from her! But you know what I realized immediately after? That I don’t need to face people like her. I certainly don’t need to face people like Morgan Payne in Zion. What I need is to face the best. The most ruthless. And the most fierce competition wrestling has, and that’s right here in Empire Wrestling! And the first victim, the first one to fall on this Reign of Riot? Kamila Rose. And that’s…Somehow someone I haven’t stepped in a ring with yet.
A beat.
Serena Riot: But just know that later tonight Kamila…I want you to understand something. My redemption story may not have started out the way I wanted it to? But that just means one thing. It means that I’m only more and more pissed off. It means that I’m out for blood, and I’m looking for a fight. And it means, that unfortunately for you? You’re the first victim. You’re the one that once I win the EW World Championship. The history dorks are going to do a deep dive on the opponents I defeated to the path of Championship gold. And they’re going to see your name. And they’re going to realize that it all started here tonight against you. That you were just another causality that I’m not going to just beat. But I’m going to run the fuck over on my way to what I know is a long career here in EW. And I’m going to show the world just why you don’t mess…WITH THAT BITCH!!!
She holds the microphone up in the air, as the crowd finishes her expression by going “FROM THE 216!”. She smirks as she flips the microphone down. Her theme song once more plays as she rolls out of the ring and heads towards the back.
SPARTAN DIVISION RULES
Samantha Hamilton Vs. AJ Jenkynz
Jenkynz came to the ring first to a scattering of cheers as she moved around and awaited. There was a loud cheer for Hamilton as she stepped out next with the Spartan Championship in her hand. She held it high as a pop of pyro went off. She made her way down and was quickly ready to compete. The referee went over the rules of the match before ringing the bell. The two locked up and Hamilton rushed Jenkynz into the ropes and applied a headlock, forcing him to use the first of his three rope breaks. AJ smiled as he figured out her strategy and hit her with a kick to the gut as she approached. Jenkynz tried for a German suplex but Hamilton fought out with hard elbow strikes to the head. She pulled him in and delivered a DDT that spiked him in the middle of the ring. Hamilton pulled AJ up and started to drive her knee into his gut and tossed him into the corner. She lifted him to the top turnbuckle but he kicked her away with a hard shot to the face. Sam turned and was hit with a dropkick from the middle rope from AJ!
Gemma Foster: AJ trying to stay in this match!
He pulled Hamilton to her feet and lifted her into a fireman’s carry and she countered into a small package for two! They both popped up and Hamitlon hit a kick to the gut and delivered a powerbomb! She rolled him back up to his feet and drove him to the mat with Wrath of the Titans (Pedigree)! She rolled him over and covered and picked up the three count pinfall!
WINNER: Samantha Hamilton via pinfall @ 10:03
Hard Work Versus Star Treatment
Kevin Olsen is standing next to Jenna Jillian Walker in the backstage interview area of The Warehouse.
Kevin Olsen: I am standing here with former Empire Wrestling Spartan Champion, Jenna Jillian Walker…
Jenna shakes her head.
Jenna Jillian Walker: I still can’t get used to the fact that the word former is now connected to my Spartan Championship reign. Those are the breaks though, right?
Kevin Olsen: Indeed it is, Jenna. How have you been doing since coming up short against Samantha Hamilton several weeks ago in your attempt to retain the Spartan Championship?
Jenna Jillain Walker: Obviously I haven’t totally been myself. In my rookie year of professional wrestling I got not only a chance to wrestle for the Spartan Championship but I won the championship by defeating Martin West. I was on cloud nine and losing the championship was definitely a punch in the gut.
Kevin Olsen: I am sure about that, Jenna, but not only I but all your fans out there are positive you will rebound and go onto bigger things.
Jenna Jillian Walker: The fans have been great and I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate them. My mind is focused on continuing to climb the ladder of success here in Empire in hopes to hold the Empire Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship and claim it as my own one day because I know I outwork most wrestlers in my preparation to step into the ring every single time that I do. It is why I #TrustTheProcess…
“Oh puhlease”
Soon the snobbish, bitchy tone of Veronica Taylor can be heard, as coming into the view dressed to the nines in a pink dress, black boots, and a black Gucci bag, the First Class Superstarlet stands looking less than impressed.
Veronica Taylor: Like really why is when you came in here you were given a shot at being a champion, and yet with my record I have only had one number one contender match multi person? I have been making these bitches hold the L since I have arrived and yet the Superstarlet can’ get what is owed to her? Like embarrassing, I deserve the star treatment.
Jenna looks over at Kevin.
Jenna Jillian Walker: Excuse me, Kevin.
Jenna looks at Veronica and cracks a smile.
Jenna Jillian Walker: I get a kick out of people like you because those of your ilk believe that you are entitled to anything. The reason I was “gifted” those opportunities is because I put in the work. Because I earned those opportunities not simply “gifted”
Veronica rolled her eyes and rudely did a talk to the hand motion.
Veronica Taylor: Um clearly if we are talking about putting in the work, then you have seen what I have been doing entitled no? I deserve my shot. I am not trying to “trust a process” to carry me through, I am about making opportunities for myself. Because this spotlight belongs to me Jenna, and I am not gonna let others take it like too bad you don’t have that spartan title because it’d look amazing around my waist.
Jenna Jillian Walker: Yet it isn’t around your waist. Why is that? You’ve made no opportunities for yourself. Just saying.
Jenna shrugs her shoulders.
Veronica Taylor: Simple because management here is too busy handing shots to its chosen few favorites but that ends soon, I am gonna make this company revolve around ME! Veronica Taylor, and there isn’t anything anyone can do about it.
Jenna Jillian Walker: Revolve around you? (Jenna chuckles) Good luck with that! If you don’t mind I’m going to put in the work to ultimately get what I want…The Empire Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship. Anything else? I sure hope not. So if there is nothing else then byeeeee!
Jenna smiles and waves bye to Veronica.
Jenna Jillian Walker: Kevin, as usual it has been a pleasure.
Veronica looks shocked and angered as Jenna walks away.
Harper Mason Vs. Missy Propaganda
The next match was set to start as the fans had dueling chants for the two competitors. Mason had come to the ring with her FCW Great Lakes Championship with her and showed it off. Harper and Missy locked up and exchanged strikes to kick things off. They each ducked a roundhouse kick attempt from the other and Missy was able to flip Harper down with a hip toss. Harper got to her feet and tripped her up with a drop toe hold and went into a single leg crab. Missy was able to get to the ropes and caused a break. Harper and Missy met in the middle of the ring again and Missy hit a hard forearm to the face before missing a lariat. Harper countered with her Into The Earth (Ripcord Rolling Elbow)! Harper went for a cover but could only get two. Harper pulled Missy to her feet and went to send her into the ropes but Missy countered with a knee to the gut. Missy pulled Harper in and dropped her to the mat with a DDT. Missy looked for her Propaganda Bomb (Springboard Flatliners) but Harper countered into a northern lights suplex.
Gemma Foster: What a counter!
Both competitors got to their feet and Harper delivered her Crowd Killer (Ripcord Diamond Cutter)! Harper went into a cover and Missy shocked everyone when she was able to just get her foot on the ropes to stop the break. Harper started to pull Missy to her feet and Missy hit Harper in the gut with a hard right hand and then delivered a headbutt. Missy looked for a roundhouse kick and Harper ducked and countered into Encore Set (Torture Rack into Flatfliner)! Harper covered and got the three count win!
WINNER: Harper Mason via pinfall @ 11:41
The Headliner
Our scene opens up backstage where we see the EW HYPE backdrop and the fans pop as Lacy Nelson comes into frame.
Lacy Nelson: It wasn’t long ago that I let the world know that I had signed a new deal to stay with Empire Wrestling for a long time. After re-signing, I’ve been taking a lot of time to think about things. I look around EW and I see a lot of great talent but it’s missing something. A REAL headliner. I’m not going to stand here and beat around the bush. I am a former Primetime Champion. I am a former World Champion. I write the headlines here in Empire Wrestling. This is me putting the entire locker room on notice!
She smirks and takes off her sunglasses.
Lacy Nelson: Lacy isn’t just primetime, Lacy is the headline.
EW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Radicalliance (Josh Goldstein & Ronnie North) (c) Vs. Silent Lightning (Emma Wexler & Zenia Hobbs)
The challengers come out first to a solid cheer as they’re the clear underdogs. The champions came out to a huge ovation. The bell rang after the match was announced and we started with North and Wexler. North powered Wexler around with a few tosses but she started to come back with a jumping knee strike to the head. She tagged out to Hobbs came off the top ropes with a crossbody. Hobbs looked for a tornado DDT when North stood but he pushed her away. She landed on her feet but walked right into North’s Splitting Of the Bamboo (A hard Mongolian chop [named after his favorite Kama Sutra position])! North tagged out to Goldstein and North lifted her up and they delivered Falling With Style (A Doomsday Crossbody)! Goldstein goes for a cover but Wexler breaks it up.
Gemma Foster: Wexler saves the day!
Goldstein pulled Hobbs to her feet and she tried to fight back and hit a jawbreaker. She made a hot tag to Wexler and took him down with a meteora. Wexler and Goldstein got to their feet and she looked for a wheel kick that Goldstein ducked it. Goldstein jumped up and spiked her with the Schmuck-Spiker (Poison Rana)! Goldstein tagged out to North and they delivered the E-RAD-Icator (Flapjack [Ronnie] into a Double Knee Gutbuster [Josh])! Goldstein speared Hobbs off the apron and North covered and got the win to retain the titles.
WINNERS AND STILL EW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Josh Goldstein & Ronnie North via pinfall @ 14:10
To the Top!
The lights in Warehouse dim down as anticipation builds more and more until the payoff. Green and pink lights begin pulsating rapidly, the entryway filling up with fog as the DJ Logy Remix of Disco Inferno by The Tramps hits hard. Stepping through those curtains first were those two masked beauties, the Inferno Girls. Their rather revealing attire matched one another and the colors of the flashing lights. Those two danced, in perfect synchronicity for a few moments before suddenly stopping and pointing to those curtains.
Emerging out onto the stage was none other than Ricky Rodriguez! Upon first sight, the crowds cheering grew that much louder. Ricky joined the Inferno Girls, the now trio danced to that music, getting the crowd that much more hyped up as they went down the ramp. Slapping hands with the fans as they went, the three of them stopped at the bottom of the ramp. One Inferno Girl for each side of the ringside area as Ricky lunged forward, sliding in under the bottom set of ropes.
The highly energetic young man was practically bouncing around the ring as that music faded. He made his way to the lower right corner of the ring, being handed a microphone. Returning to the middle of it, he cheered loudly into that microphone.
Ricky Rodriguez: 'Empire Wrestlin! Let's hear it!'
The crowd's reaction was deafening. The show had been thus far and their energy was at an all time high and Ricky was clearly feeding off of it.
Ricky Rodriguez: 'Fuckyeah! That's what I wanna hear. That's the kinda energy I wanna feel from y'all. See..tonight's special. I know, the show, nah..the whole ass promotion has been..soo amazin so far, you gotta be thinkin..what can be next? What can top everythin you've ever seen here?
Me.
See, tonight is just the start of somethin huuuge, not just for me but for Empire Wrestlin as a whole. Tonight..I start puttin the last year and a half behind me and start a whole new chapter of my life and I couldn't have picked a better place to start it in.'
Ricky begins pacing around the ring, clearly getting antsy.
Ricky Rodriguez: 'This is sooo much more than justa debut match, I've had my fair share of them and I assure you..this will be bigger..better..more impactful than any debut you've ever seen before. I'm here to show up and show out more than I ever have before.
Like a big ass peacock, feathers all splayed out and shit. But see, I can't have the best debut ever without somethin that's soo fuckin important. An opponent. Enter Harper Blake. Now, I've been a bit quiet on the socials but you best believe I've been puttin my everythin into gettin ready for this match.
Not just gym shit but like..I've been studyin you, watchin everybit of tape I can find on you. I'm comin into this match physically ready..mentally ready. Call me Antinomy cause I gots that Top Clear Mind.
Now Harper, I hope you're just as ready for this as I am. I hope you've looked forward to this just as much as I have. I hope you know the kinda fight I'm bouta bring you. And everyyyone of y'all in the back. I hope y'all don't look away for a second. Cause this fight? It's comin for everyyyone. You already know how it is..
Straight To..The..'
As Ricky raised that microphone up, the crowd yelled out the word top. Nodding his head in agreement, Ricky moved back to those ropes, passing the microphone back off to that member of the ring crew. He began loosening himself up, waiting for the arrival of Harper.
Ricky Rodriguez Vs. Harper Blake
Harper Blake came out next and circled the ring to make Ricky pace around. He kept moving to keep his eyes on her. Ricky charged the ropes and took her out with a tope con hilo! He was fired up as he pulled Harper up and rolled her into the ring. Ricky followed after her and the bell rang. Harper stumbled up to her feet and Ricky backed her into the corner. He landed a hard kick to the gut and then jumped up to the middle ropes and looked for a hard punch to the head but Harper slipped between his legs and got free. Rickey jumped up and hit a crossbody as he came off the top rope and turned! They both got up to their feet and Ricky hit a suplex and popped up to his feet as the fans cheered. Harper used the ropes to get to her feet and Ricky looked for a DDT but Harper spun away. Harper hooked an arm and tried for her double chickening facebuster but Ricky countered into a roll up for two!
Gemma Foster: Ricky Rodriguez looking impressive in his first match here in Empire Wrestling!
Ricky and Harper were both up to their feet and Ricky looked for a spear but was hit with a kick to the face. Ricky was stunned and Harper used the opening for deliver Future Sight (V-Trigger)! She pulled Ricky into place for the Falcon Arrow but Ricky was able to hold on to her and she couldn’t lift him. Ricky slipped behind and hit a falling neckbreaker. Both competitors got to their feet and Ricky caught Harper on the jaw with a spinning roundhouse kick! He looked at the ropes and used them to deliver To The Top (Springboard Cutter)! Ricky went into a cover and picked up a win!
WINNER: Ricky Rodriguez via pinfall @ 13:49
Kamila Rose Vs. Serena Riot
It was main event time as Kamila Rose came out first to a mixed reaction as she moved slowly. The former Extreme Champion rolled into the ring and waited. The crowd came alive with cheers as Serena Riot came out next and had the crowd fired up. She made her way down and slid into the ring and popped up. The two didn’t wait for the bell as they both wanted to make a statement. Riot and Rose exchanged wild punches before Rose pulled Riot down by her hair. Riot rolled up and smiled as she charged and rushed Rose into the ropes. Riot started to strike Rose with elbows to the head and then a big monkey flip away from the ropes! Rose climbed up to her feet and Riot was right there as they locked up. Riot locked in a headlock but Rose countered with a belly to back suplex. She went into a cover for just one as Riot kicked out. Rose went for another cover just to send a message and got one. Riot pushed herself to her feet and backed into the corner. Rose charged but ran into a big boot. Rose stumbled away and Riot took her down with a neckbreaker. Riot readied and wanted the Wicked Ways (Curb Stomp) but Rose moved just in time. Rose grabbed Riot and delivered Rose Cutter (Arm Trap Headlock Driver)!
Gemma Foster: What a counter!
Rose pulled Riot up and may have been looked for the Twisting Vines (Pop Rocks (Sunset Flip Powerbomb)) but Riot was able to block and sat down into a cover for two! Riot popped up and Rose got to her feet. Rose charged right into Bitch Go BOOM (Literally just pushes her opponent with both of her hands, sending them flying across the ring. Often done when opponent is running at Serena)! Rose was disorientated and Riot hit the Wicked Ways! Riot screamed as she pulled Rose up and delivered the Psychosis (Cradle Piledriver) and covered for a pinfall win.
WINNER: Serena Riot via pinfall @ 15:03
Riot got to her feet and celebrated her win as we went off air.

Ricky begins pacing around the ring, clearly getting antsy.
Ricky Rodriguez: 'This is sooo much more than justa debut match, I've had my fair share of them and I assure you..this will be bigger..better..more impactful than any debut you've ever seen before. I'm here to show up and show out more than I ever have before.
Like a big ass peacock, feathers all splayed out and shit. But see, I can't have the best debut ever without somethin that's soo fuckin important. An opponent. Enter Harper Blake. And everyyyone of y'all in the back. I hope y'all don't look away for a second. Cause this fight? It's comin for everyyyone. You already know how it is..
