Episode #106 - November 19, 2023
Harper Blake Vs. Jenna Jillian Walker
The opening match of the night drew a nice cheer from the fans as Walker and Blake brought the energy early. Just as the match was about to start, Veronica Taylor made her way to the ring and joined Gemma Foster at the commentary desk. In the ring, the two exchanged strong blows before Walker started to toss Blake around with tosses and a few different suplexes. Walker hit a picture perfect Under The Bridge (Bridge Dragon Suplex) and got two on a pinfall attempt. Blake had to start fighting back and her opening came when she caught Walker with a pump kick to the face. That opening allowed Blake to deliver her CMS (Quasedora Flipping Facebuster) and she sat on Walker’s chest as she covered and got two. Walker kicked out and went to run the ropes but had her foot grabbed by Taylor on the outside. Things were pretty even at this point in the match and Blake wanted to deliver her Future Sight (V-Trigger) but Walker was able to get out of the way and hit a big German suplex. Blake charged right into a big powerslam and Walker was fired up. Walker delivered a powerbomb and rolled Blake up and pulled her right into the Blueprint (Cradle Piledriver) before pinning Blake with a three count.
WINNER: Jenna Jillian Walker via pinfall @ 13:03
Walker celebrated for a moment and looked over at Taylor as the two had a stare down.
Elevated Thoughts
An Empire Wrestling cameraman caught up with Ashlynn Cassidy and Ricky Rodriguez as the pair made their way through the backstage area. It looked as if neither one of them were exactly pleased with the whole situation. Turning that corner, Ricky spun around, facing the camera pointed at them as he walked backwards.
Ricky Rodriguez: “I don't understand people. Like..I really fuckin don't. There's absolutely nothin I've ever wanted to accomplish in this business with someone else helpin me accomplish it. Maybe it's a dignity thing. Maybe they're okay with someone else bein able to say ‘you couldn't have done that without me.’ I mean, it couldn't be me..’
Ashlynn Cassidy nodded as she kept up with him, making a shoulder shrug dumbfounded gesture.
Ashlynn Cassidy: “Call me too proud or whatever. No way I’m willingly gonna put myself in the position where people can discredit what I get done. The whole UNDENIABLE idea is not just for some merch sales. I mean that. I don’t want any questions, Ashlynn Cassidy won that match, or title. Hell, Ashlynn Cassidy could lose a match or title. I’ve been in a tag team, I was in a group for like, a month tops? Anywayyy, I’ve never hid my success or my failures behind anyone. I wear it all.”
Ricky slapped his hands together as if Ashlynn just made the most sense ever. Shaking his head, he gave off a similar shrug.
Ricky Rodriguez: ‘And that's exactly how it should be, honestly.’
Without much thought, she piped in.
Ashlynn Cassidy: I mean, at least they are honest, kinda? They are calling themselves Dishonor.
With that, she blushed and let him continue his thought. They both were quite fond of …”getting elevated”, so finishing thoughts was less often for them than your average person. Ricky nodded his head, agreeing wholeheartedly with her follow-up.
Ricky Rodriguez:Self-awareness aside. We've worked hella spots together and never once have I felt the need to help you win. Willa neither. Cause I've never once even thought that y'all needed it. I'll talk y'all to the moon but when it comes down to the actual fight? So much more capable than needin help like that. Serena and Lacy got the same.’
Ashlynn Cassidy: That’s a two-way street, or I guess three-way? Point is, it’s always been a sign of respect. Lacy and Serena too, we’ve never once felt the need to step in for em. Even when it’s felt like high school, like it’s the thing to have a wholeass squad like we’re in West Side, or Grease, or Heathers of some shit? Willa neither, the five of us never thought to combine our strength. We could have but…too proud? Willa and I were born a Leo, Don’t know what excuse the rest of you have though.”
Ricky Rodriguez:‘You two a’re Leos, I usta be the Little Lion. Y'all killin it on the New York Pride. The whole thing just writes itself, really. It all just..fits. You're absolutely right tho. Hell yeah, we could pull some shit like that but what good would it do? Sure, we'd be successful as hell with it, we’d make it look a hell of alottabit better than the norm too..but then there'd be all those annoyin ass thoughts..pickin at the back of our heads. And I ain't tryinta speak for noone else but I already gottanough annoyin ass thoughts pickin at the back of my head..I don't need anymore.’
Ashlynn Cassidy: “You’re so right, Buuuut, Fire x Ash was kinda fun, and you and Lacy aren’t too bad either, unlucky, maybe.”
Ricky Rodriguez:‘Somethin like that. You wanna talk bout unlucky tho. Anywhere else, any other situation? Dishonor’s bullshit would be praised, it’d go off without a hitch. But we ain't playin those games. Specially not when it's two people who's backs we got like that. It's bout doin the right thing and right now? The right thing is shuttin them down every chance we get. Eventually they'll understand exactly what's goin on here.’
The two look at each other with their thinkin’ faces on before both turning to face the camera, thinkin’ faces still on as the scene draws to a close.
Justice Cross Vs. Kayla Taylor
The newest member of the Empire Wrestling roster was set to make her debut as Justice Cross came to the ring. Taylor came out and we were set to start. Taylor came out with a quick flurry of punches as she unloaded on Cross. Taylor hit vicious forearms to the face and tried to end things quickly with Broadway Lights (Cross Rhodes) but Cross battled out and got free. Cross hit a step up enziguri and popped up to her feet. Cross was able to get Taylor down to the mat after a big belly to belly slam. Cross and Taylor were both up and Cross hit a tornado DDT using the ropes. Cross pulled Taylor up but was pulled down into a small package where Taylor got a two count! Taylor was up first and just as Cross stood, hit a kick to the gut and then her Merry Go Round (Spin Fisherman Suplex). Taylor pulled Cross up and Cross hit Lights Out (RKO)! Cross grabbed Taylor and rolled her up with a victory roll and got a three count!
WINNER: Justice Cross via pinfall @ 10:44
Lacy Nelson Vs. Marilyn Lee Cross
The fans were absolutely buzzing for the next match as the EW World Champion came out to the ring first. The title may not have been on the line but Cross made sure to show everyone the championship as they cheered her on. There was a big pop as the music changed and Lacy Nelson came out next.
The two met in the center of the ring and said a few things to each other and the bell rang. They locked up and tried to get position on the other. Cross ducked down and behind Nelson for a wristlock. Nelson ducked under and got position for Cross and locked up from behind. Cross chopped at Nelson and spun around her. Cross jumped up and hit a poisionrana that spiked Nelson! Nelson got up and caught a charging Cross with a spinebuster. These two kept trying to one up each other and the fans were split between them. Nelson hit Cross with Le Gasp (Lungblower Backbreaker) and then followed it up with Thunderstruck (Corner Hip Attack)! Nelson almost had a three count but Cross kicked out. Cross showed why she was champion as she started to battle back and didn’t let Nelson get her footing. Superman Forearm, palm strike, and then a Hand of God (Spinning backfist) had Nelson reeling. The crowd popped as Cross delivered her Mary Go Round (Discus Big Boot). Cross went for her John Wilkes Boot (Running Yakuza Kick to the back of the head) but Nelson was able to duck it as she had it scouted. Cross turned and turned right into Nelson’s superkick! Nelson went for a cover and Cross shocked everyone when she kicked out at two.
Nelson wanted another superkick but Cross hit Catch Your Breath (Striking Spear)! Cross locked Nelson in her Hungry Jaws (Dragon Sleeper w/ body scissors) but she couldn’t get the scissors in. Nelson flipped backwards and had Cross’ shoulders pinned and picked up a shocking three count!
WINNER: Lacy Nelson via pinfall @ 16:49
Nelson popped up after the win and was as shocked as Cross was. Cross looked at her with her jaw dropped and fixed her hair.
Gemma Foster: That’s a HUGE win for Lacy Nelson here tonight.
Serena Riot Vs. Jason Evans
Evans came out solo for the match but Gemma Foster pointed out that the rest of Dishonor could always pop out from anywhere. Serena Riot came out and moved slowly to the ring, looking a little banged up from her match at FCW’s event the night before. She climbed into the ring and as soon as the bell rang, Evans attacked! He dropped an elbow onto her back as she was down and started to stomp on her. Evans pulled her up and quickly hit a snap suplex. Evans let Riot start to stand and when she did, Evans charged and Riot hit him with the Bitch Go BOOM (Pushes opponent with both hands, sending them flying). Evans stumbled to his feet, dazed, where she flipped him inside out with a discus lariat. She grabbed Evans and started to hammer away with hammer and anvil blows as he was sitting on the mat. She eventually stood and grabbed both of his hands and started to stomp away on his head.
Gemma Foster: Serena taking out every ounce of aggression she has tonight and Jason Evans is feeling the wrath!
Evans slowly got to his feet after Riot backed away for the referee to check on him. Evans stepped up swinging and missed on a right hand before Riot delivered a snap DDT. Before Evans could stand, Riot delivered the Wicked Ways (Curb Stomp) and covered for a three count win!
WINNER: Serena Riot via pinfall @ 6:04
Riot sat on the mat and was clearly in some discomfort as the referee checked on her and she gave him a thumbs up. Kimiko Hirano of Dishonor slid into the ring and was ready to attack but Riot rolled out of the ring and gave her a finger wag and moved up the ramp.
Gemma Foster: Kimiko is out here to check on Jason Evans and it really feels like Dishonor is out to make as many enemies as possible.
Prove It
In the backstage area, Johnny Maverick is about to make his way through the curtain when Kevin Olsen gets with him for a quick word.
Kevin Olsen: Johnny. It’s all but a forgone conclusion that at Next Level: Victorem, we’ll see you versus Daniel Daemon. Why risk any sort of injury before then?
Johnny Maverick: EW wants to make sure I can still move in the ring. Call it proving I’m ready for the match.
Kaito Hirano Vs. Johnny Maverick
Kaito Hirano made his way out and passed Evans and Kimiko Hirano as they all shared words before he went down to the ring. The crowd went wild when Johnny Maverick made his way out to the stage. They were fired up and he made it known he felt their energy as he high fived some fans. The two men squared off and we were set to begin as the bell rang. Kaito quickly stepped up with kicks to the legs of Johnny and then flipped him to the mat with an arm drag. Maverick stood and brushed himself off and smiled. He looked at his wrist as if to check his watch and walked over to Hirano before hitting a hard kick to the gut. Maverick delivered a capture suplex, a German suplex, and then a snap dragon suplex. Hirano staggered to his feet and Maverick delivered Drain Bramage (Jumping Brainbuster). Maverick pulled Hirano up and delivered the Third Eye Opener (Ripcord Bicycle Knee Strike)! He covered and picked up an easy win.
WINNER: Johnny Maverick via pinfall @ 3:19
Gemma Foster: Well, I think he told Kaito he wasn’t getting paid by the hour.
Maverick celebrated in the corner of the ring and pointed out to the crowd. Kimiko Hirano and Jason Evans pulled Hirano out of the ring and thought about attacking. Maverick readied himself for a fight when Lacy Nelson, Ricky Rodriguez, and Ashlynn Cassidy hit the stage. Dishonor looked around as the fans cheered and they jumped into the crowd and left. Nelson made her way down to the ring and climbed into the ring and shook Maverick’s hand to a cheer from the fans.
The Revenant
The fans explode as the unexpected but familiar "Hell Yeah" by Rev Theory blasts through the speakers. Casey Grey steps through the curtain and onto the stage.
Gemma Foster: We haven’t seen Casey in months!
Casey Grey walks to the ring in her wrestling gear, interacting with fans along the way before giving her red and black hat to a little girl in the front row. She enters the ring, and when she raises a microphone, the cheers grow even louder.
Casey Grey: Did you miss me?
The crowd responds with a deafening roar of “Hell Yeah!” in approval.
Casey Grey: Damn, it feels good to be back! You know, I've been away for a bit because I needed to take some time to reflect on my whole view here in Empire. See, the whole reason I left was that damn world title that I lost. Ain’t no sense in lyin’, it spun me outta control a little bit. I left because I needed to take a hard look at myself and why I got into this business in the first place. I had doubts, and it was enoughto put me off my game and y’all deserve better than that from me. But let me make one thing clear: I didn't leave because I couldn't handle the competition. I’m here to prove to myself and all of you that I'm good enough to have earned the Primetime Championship three times and to have been your World Champion.
Casey smirks at the camera.
Casey Grey: I want those belts back. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m expectin’ a fight from where I am to where I want to be, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But I got a message for anyone that wants to sign on the dotted line…if you’re in my way you’re gonna be trampled. No animosity, no grudges, I’m just going to beat you like you stole something from me. Even if you haven’t.
Casey motions to the crowd before she speaks again.
Casey Grey: I love all of you. You are the greatest fans. My promise to all of you is that I’m going to fight and climb my way back to the top, step by step. No gimmicks, no bullshit, no insane managers, just me and my wrestling talent that put me on the map in the first place. Now, I don’t mind tellin’ ya that I still don't care about the rules, the politics, or who's in charge. I changed how I’m lookin’ at things, not who I am. What you’re seein’ is still what you’re gettin’, and what you’re seein’ is still the baddest bitch in this company. So, whether you love me or hate me, get ready, because things are about to get shook up!"
With that, Casey looks towards the girl in the front row and smiles
Casey Grey: Hey! Hey, kid!
The girl looks up, smiling. Casey points to the little girl.
Casey Grey: You like that hat?
The girl nods enthusiastically, the hat sort of bobbing on her head.
Casey Grey: Did you watch Tainted Twilight?
The kid nods again. Casey looks at the camera and arches an eyebrow before dropping the microphone and jumping to a turnbuckle as her music hit and we ended the show.
