Untethered Respect
We open on the backstage area to see Lacy Hartson standing in front of the HYPE backdrop. She gives and nod once she knows she’s on and starts to talk.
Lacy Nelson: Last week I went down to the ring and I shook Johnny Maverick’s hand. Now, I’m not an idiot. I’ve been looking over my shoulder all week long knowing that I just pissed off Daemon. I’ve had people asking me why I did what I did last week. Simple. I respect everything Johnny has given to his industry. Daniel, I still respect you too. But it’s clear that the Untethered Empire is splintered and right now, you have bigger concerns and that’s okay! Right now, I have other concerns too. My friends are in battle and I need to be there for them.
Lacy smiles after a quick pause, looking into the camera.
Lacy Nelson: Dishonor. A big thorn in the side of so many for so long. I’m there if they need me. But I also look around and something is bugging me.
There’s a pause as she takes a deep breath.
Lacy Nelson: Melody Slayton. When I won the Primetime Championship I was here every single week. I competed as much as I could. I defended the title, put it on the line against you. Where have you been since you won it? You’ve defended it, what? Once? You wanted to be champion and show the world what the Slayton name was outside of your father. I WANT to like you, Melody. I WANT you to be a great champion because that means Empire Wrestling has a great champion. Do something to show me you’re even a GOOD champion.
Lacy shakes her head and starts to walk away before putting one last word in.
Lacy Nelson: Or I’m going to give these people a headline.

Casey Grey: Absolutely, Kevin. The truth is, Empire Wrestling is where I started and made a name for myself. Sort of like home, you know? I’m the two-time original Primetime Champion, which sounds kind of weird but makes sense when you think about it, and I held that title three times. I was the World Champion, but I kind of cracked Lacy in the face with a bell for that and honestly, it’s not my proudest moment. I’m a great wrestler, and I just want a chance to prove it. Middle of the ring, 1, 2, 3.
Kevin Olsen: You certainly left a mark during your previous time here. What goals do you have this time around?
Casey Grey: I’m here to show the Empire Wrestling fans, the locker room, and management that I'm not just a former champion living on past glory. I'm here to earn my spot again and climb to the top. Holding that title means you're the best, and I want to be the best again. I'm not going to settle for anything less.
Kevin Olsen: Is there anyone on your radar? Who can we expect you to go after first?
Casey smirks at the question.
Casey Grey: Everyone is a potential target, whether it's a former rival or someone I've never crossed paths with before. The Belle of Bitchville is back, and I'm not here to play nice. Just…put someone up so I can take them down.
Kevin Olsen: Strong words, Casey. We're certainly looking forward to seeing you back in Empire Wrestling. Welcome back, and best of luck!
Casey Grey: Thank you, Kevin. Now I just have to sneak down to ringside without paying for a ticket. See ya around.
