A Championship with ties and history dating all the way back to 2004 and has been held by numerous wrestling Hall of Famers has found its way to EW. On December 22, 2004 the Primetime Championship was won by future BWF Hall of Famer Gabe Shelley. Gabe, being it his first championship win, quickly had the championship title reproduced for his own keeping. It's sat on his mantle for 11 years until he appeared on Animosity #10 (during Era I) and announced that the championship had been given to Wade Mason and EW. The Primetime Championship has seen various versions throughout the years but has reverted to it's original purpose, to shine a light on superstars looking to make a break for themselves. It can be considered a stepping stone towards higher things but, with its history, has it's own special light. Who is good enough to step into primetime? *Shows held during Era I of Empire Wrestling
